The room was not cleaned. Dust on many surfaces, pubic hair in the shower, utterly disgusting. No wardrobe in the room. Location is great, easy access to eateries and the beach. It would be fitting to be advertised as a backpacker or budget style accommodation and priced accordingly.

Balcony had no Seaview but looked onto garden/sitting area and was very quiet!!! Top floor had pool and great view of town, sea and surrounding are. Staff very friendly. Thankyou. Will defs be returning ! Stayed 4 nights and wished it was longer. Five stars out of five and I’m very critical usually!!

Awful. Room had not been cleaned for quite some time. There was thick dust in top of the headboard. Dust inside the shelves to put clothes. Bathroom was filthy. There was still toothpaste spit on the tap. Someone else's hair. The floor behind front door you could see had not been cleaned with bits and dust. So disappointed with this room. With no one on reception more difficult to inform anyone. Spoilt my stay in Nelson Bay.

We had two rooms, one standard and the other a one bedroom flat. Both rooms are a bit run down and need work - rusty shower frame, missing tiles, broken loo roll fitting. However the rooms had everything one could wish for - lots of towels, fully equipped kitchen and even a washer and dryer. The location is excellent being central with access to shops and coffee shops at the lift door. The arrival/departure instructions were a bit scary but it was really very simple. We had a great two days.

Far too much trouble for older people to get code numbers etc... & after already having received my confirmation a couple of weeks prior to our stay I then got message to Register on line & get a code then had so much trouble doing this I had to phone the place 3 or 4 times & the 1st man was really upsetting me. They should be made to help people better that are not great at on line stuff. My husband is legally blind & got cranky & upset for me. We will never stay again, I have family up that way so when visiting we'll stay elsewhere.

Once parked, you don't need your car. Shops, marina, food & dining, water, fishing, walking paths, tourist info centre etc all in easy walking distance.
Room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Bed and lounge were comfy, shower was great and there was a lovely, roomy balcony.
Only minor problem was the early setting up (dragging chairs) cafe below and traffic- if you enjoy a sleep in, you won't get one, but who wants to sleep late when there's so many great things to do.

Understandable during the peak of COVID but lets move on and see some more F2F hospitality. Check in could be confusing for the elderly. Check out was a much simpler process. One of the best motels I have ever stayed in. Easy check-in, complete amenities that include a dishwasher detegent to wash dishes, and expresso. You never need to request anything from housekeeping. Highly recommended.

Nelson Bay is a beautiful area but we were very disappointed with the standard of our accommodation. Our apartment was looking very tired, dowdy in appearance, needs a paint and refresh and new carpet which was very grubby in places.
The particular apartment that we were in was very noisy and users of an overhead pedestrian walkway had a great view of our apartment as they used the walkway!
I understand that we all have our own standards of cleanliness and presentation but I can't accept that this apartment was up to scratch in this regard.

Location Location! My boys and I had a pleasant stay. The room was clean and tidy and contained everything required to have a trouble-free stay. The location of this motel is brilliant and within walking distance of the gorgeous beaches, marina, coffee shops & restaurants'. Very secure setting. We did not have to drive anywhere. We had an amazing stay at Nelson Towers Motel. My partner and I would strongly recommend this property. The owners were super friendly and so kind - a true family-run business. Check-in was easy and quick. The location was amazing. Literally right in the middle of Nelson Bay and across from the marina and a short walk to the beach. Cafes and restaurants at your doorstep. The hotel itself was well kept (the rooftop pool area was also spotless and a great spot to relax with amazing views!). Our room was comfortable and very clean. Loved our stay - we’ll be back!

The room was very dated, as to be expected. The balcony door did not close, let alone lock. Smallest pool I’ve ever seen. On arrival the staff were lovely but on departure, an older man was working on the desk and was incredibly inappropriate. As a woman there on my own, he was asking about my boyfriend, if I’m a naughty girl and told me to come back when I’m being naughty. Absolutely disgusting!!

Reached hotel 10.30 am - early for check-in. But Chris was very helpful and asked us to park the car inside, gave us a map of surroundings and asked us to go for a stroll around the marina right opposite, visit the info center, have lunch and come back by noon. We did just that and when we returned Chris was right in front and provided us with all the instructions about security keys and other useful instructions about the room.

The pictures of the resort style motel looked great on Hotels.com. Reality was somewhat different. Conveniently situated opposite the NB marina with access to coffee shops and restaurants close by. On arrival the air conditioning and tv didn’t work. The owners were great when trying to solve the issue and we got the tv working after realising that it was due to dead batteries. The aircon issue wasn’t solved but they did provide a heater, although due to its age, the smell of burning dust wasn’t what we were hoping for on our first weekend away after Covid isolation. Our initial thoughts of the room were that if was dated and run down but after some more time we realised it was also filthy. The bedding smelt, the floors were dirty, sticky, and nothing felt like it had been washed or cleaned in an extended period of time. To conclude the bad experience, the person who checked us out made uncomfortable remarks about my partners physical appearance. Disappointing as we really wanted to support a local during a tough time.
