My main complaint was about the lack of a twin room. I was traveling with my daughter and took great pains to reserve twin rooms rather than double rooms. Despite my reservation showing \"multiple beds,\" there was only one double bed in our room. The staff was unable (or unwilling) to find a twin room for us. Having said that, the bed was comfortable and the facilities basic but adequate.

When we went to pay for our meal the first bill included the buffet, main course and desert for each of us when we had only had a main course each. We had also ordered two pichets of wine to have with our meal and were shocked when we were presented with a bill for 38 euros for the wine! It took two more attempts to actually get a bill which reflected what we had ordered and we were left feeling that this had been a deliberate attempt to overcharge us in the hope that we would not notice.
The room was shabby with a badly stained carpet and there were hairs in the bath. We have stayed here 4 times before but will not be doing so again.

Although the hotel is on the outskirts of the town and could have been noisy due to its proximity to the airport, the no 7 bus leaves from just opposite the hotel every 15 minutes and takes you directly (no atops) into town for 1.40€ (last bus is at midnight) and there don't seem to be any planes departing late or early so there is no disturbance from the airport.
Considering the eye watering prices of hotels closer to town, the Campanille is a great option for an overnight stop off.

The front desk female person could not have been more rude upon my arrival. After experiencing that, I found out anything I needed by either asking strangers on the street or using my phone. Room provided bare minimum and was overpriced. Would never recommend to an enemy.

Not really walkable. It is on a main highway close to the airport and there is no sidewalk for a long portion of the road. Being near the airport, I heard planes take off and land but that didn't happen past about ten or earlier than 6:30.

Too much airport noise for my liking
We arrived on a day with terrible wind and rain and there where floods running down the road, and into the property. Although we knew the airport was close, we did not imagine that we would be almost underneath the start and landing area so the noice of the engines where loud and make me wake up suddenly as it sounded like the plane was almost inside our room! Staff friendly and welcoming, but place looks tired outside and in need of upkeep. We prefer a hotel where the reception is part of the place where you stay, we did not know this was the case in Biarritz. Here the reception was part of the restaurant and separate from where the guests were staying.

Having used the Campanile at Biarritz for at least 25 years, I was a bit surprised to have a rate of €52 quoted (as a regular customer) only to be charged €57 on arrival including, \"€10 local taxes.\" Stupidly I declined a receipt.

We had a fabulous night staying there. After a very long day's drive from Dieppe in the torrential rain we arrived extremely tired and stressed out. However such kind a friendly service on at check in followed by a warm shower and a short nap to recover we adjourned to the hotel restaurant and had an absolutely sumptions dinner and retired to bed. Next morning we were up and at breakfast at 05:30 which was very nice and beautifully presented and on our way to continue our travels by 06:00 am... Overall a wonderful, friendly, relaxed and prompt service... Thank you. This is my fourth visit to the same hotel over a number of years and it is always the same. Worth returning to!

The room was for two people but you only provide one teabag and charge for more, very tight.
Lastly the lamp in the bedroom was faulty and most likely dangerous with loose electrical connections.

OK but service v. unfriendly. We also paid the local tax in cash and were asked to pay again as it had not been recorded. Motto is \"get a receipt\" I refused to pay twice and didn't do so. There is a Hotel B&B just up the road which used on the way down, slightly more expensive but service so much better. Won't use that Camponile again. V. Noisy at end of runway as is the B&B. Also noisy early morning lorries and buses 05:00. No getting away from the airport here.

I walked uphill for a mile from the train station at night to get to the hotel because their were no taxis at the station. Just stayed 1 night and had breakfast. It was good enough for that but not much in the area unless other than to get to the train.

About what you would expect from this chain of hotels which is firmly in the \"cheap and cheerful\" section. WIFI worked well, plenty of hot water, powerful shower, air-con good, friendly staff. The restaurant, like all French hotels, was superior than you would get in the UK.
Although located outside the main town (and near the airport) there are relatively few flights, and none after about 11pm. Another plus is the summertime free bus service into town from the parking lot opposite the hotel which runs up until 11ish.

Stayed there for 4 days initially, then extended for another 4 days. Nothing extraordinary; served its purpose. We needed a place that’s accessible from the major motorway because we didn’t just explore Biarritz but went on to the neighboring cities and even to San Sebastián in Spain. Quite near the local supermarket so you can have stuff from their deli (easily heated in the supermarket’s microwave oven) if you don’t fancy eating at the hotel. It’s near the airport (take offs/landing every hour or so I’ve noticed), and near a roundabout so it’s something to consider if absolute silence is a must. The only hiccup was a 17 euro charge for a meal which we didn’t have, easily refunded by a very helpful front desk staff. So check the charges closely. Other than that, this is a place I’d come back to again.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the room appeared clean but it was so close to the airport the air traffic was really noisy. We booked this hotel under the impression it was close to the city centre and the location of the hotel was so far from the city centre it required a bus or taxi each time. We only stayed at the hotel an hour before booking another hotel in the city centre. I am disappointed with the description given by hotels.Com and feel we were misled when booking.

This is a motel rather than a hotel, although we arrived by bus and left on foot for the railway station. So the location was well chosen. The room itself was clean and comfortable enough, and the shower was excellent, but my original room smelt of smoke (although all rooms have apparently been non-smoking for some time) and although it was changed with little fuss, the replacement room still smelt stale. The surroundings though were pretty dire - filthy staircases, landings with badly-stained carpets. The restaurant area was pleasant enough, and some of the desserts were good, but a steak was poor and chips appalling. Breakfast was much better.

Quite far and difficult to get to beach area (busy roads and surprisingly few sidewalks) if you want to get there on foot, but perfect stop over for transfer to or from either train or plane. Old style 'motel' design with external doors to rooms is a bit off putting when you arrive, but security seems fine and rooms super-comfortable, very modern and clean. Excellent restaurant and breakfast brilliant. Wifi security needs to be updated- I used the local 3G phone network. A bit of daytime rush hour traffic noise. Overall excellent value and highly recommended..

Very nice hotel and friendly staff at the hotel who have to split their work between reception and check in. We were very impressed with the lady in the morning who recognised my partner from last September (in a good way!). Room was comfortable, nice shower and good wifi. There is an airport nearby which can be noisy with aircraft in the evening (no flights during the night) it is also next to a busy road but this did not disturb us too much. Would recommend here

Camponile hotels have been our preferred choice for over 20 years. The inclusion of tea making facilities enhances the overall freedoms that the hotel chain promotes.
However, their WiFi is no longer fit for purpose and we stayed at 3 Camponiles as we drove through France from Spain.
We will not be stopping at a Camponile again until this problem is sorted.

We chose to stay here as the transport links are good to both the airport and town, and its' situation on the main road is very useful the coast of a taxi to town is about 11 Euros. The rooms are very much like an American motel, but the room was spacious, clean and had toiletries provided. We had breakfast which was very nice and the staff were helpful. We did not eat in the restaurant at night, but we went for a walk and there is a bistro nearby also.

Friendly and very helpful staff when checking but initial room had not been cleaned, sheets changed or supplies restocked. Second room was better. Room pamphlet stated breakfast until 10am, went for breakfast at 9:40am and was advised that it ended at 9:30. Location is do-able from the town centre with a great and cheap bus service but best to just skip Biarritz.

Very adequate for our purpose of breaking the journey to Spain and a quick look at Biaritz. It seemed to have been revamped as it looked quite fresh and better than our previous stays in Campaniles. Bizarre.. but they give you a 15% restaurant discount while you stay at the Premiere class but not if you stay in house!

This hotel feels more like a motel. It is a thirty minute walk from the old town. and about a ten minute walk to the airport check in terminal. Some of the staff were accommodating and most spoke English. However, it felt as though you were in a holiday campus out of season. We stayed in the Campanile for just one night so as to be near an international airport the next next day after it had taken over five hours on the day we arrived to reach our holiday destination, only sixty kilometres away in the Spanish Basque territory. The room, which had a coffee making facility, was good value for Biarritz in August.
