I would not recommend this hotel unless you are staying for more than 1 night.

Hotel has some nice Nebuta float style items in the lobby location has parking right next to it and other contracted ones nearby if you have a rental car. The room itself is your typical Japanese room, small, big enough for your bed and that's it. It was a bit dry but they had the heat on since it was pretty much under 8 degrees the entire few days we were in there.

Staff was nice, obviously because this is not Tokyo, staff speak very little English so you should use your translator app/device if needed. While I was there, they did have a fluent English speaker there that made everything a lot easier as well.

Location is close to the waterfront where you can then follow to the Tourist building then to the museum and A factory and Beach.

We enjoyed staying here for a family of 5. We reserved a room with 4 beds and a pull out couch, and the pull out couch was already made with blankets, sheets etc. when we checked in. It was a walkable distance from the Aomori station, even during heavy snowy day. We also chose breakfast included (buffet style), and there are so many varieties of delicious foods. Their Apple sorbet and vanilla ice cream were really good! They also offered fresh apple juice near the check in counter and also at breakfast buffet and the apple juice was one of the best apple juices I had. Aomori is famous for their apples. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Nice location within fair walking distance to Aomori station, Ferry Boat Museum, Nebuta Museum and Aomori Prefecture Tourism Observation building. There are a handful of small local eateries and bars in the surrounding neighborhood and the closer you get to the train station the choices increase. The ocean view overlooking Aomori Harbor from our room was awesome. The breakfast buffet is great with lots of choices, especially Japanese side dishes and seafoods. The room size is large by Japan standards and there was enough floor space for two full size suitcases. The bonus was the in room massage chair that so soothing after being out all day sightseeing.

Everything was wonderful, location was excellent, reasonable distance, the only issue was sleep, which being the main purpose of the business. This was quite unfortunate, while I can understand concept such as central air conditioning, that is fine the issue is arrised when I requested an additional blanket as I run extremely hot and need a seperate blanket to be able to sleep well, first my partner requested a blanket from the front desk( there is nothing lost in translation as she is a native level proficiency in Japanese, the gentleman claimed that they do not have access to blankets and that we should look for a mythical non existent cubby in the bed for an additional blanket, needless to say I we ended up taking the sheets of the single blanket we were provided and did our best, this is not a cheap hotel there are less expensive and closer options to the subway station. I wonder if we were locals, elderly or children if they would have accommodated but we will never know. Will not be staying with Art again.

The artwork in the lobby is beautiful. The area nearby is very walkable the food options are a little limited depending on the time of day you like to eat. If you are a late night person looking for a quiet time near a simple harbor this city, and this hotel will be perfect for you.

Lovely hotel. Parking assigned was comical. A pole was blocking the parking space, so our driver had to maneuver the van to park. The room temperature was uncomfortable but a front staff person had to assist to open the window for our rooms. We had two reservations and wanted to stay in our initial rooms and willing to pay the difference. The front desk would not try to make that happen. One of a member of our group retired from Sheraton Hotel in Honolulu, Waikiki mentioned they did it all the time at her hotel. So, we had to move rooms which was a bummer.

The close proximity to Aomori station made transportation via walking or taxi incredibly easy and fast. The closeness to the the waterfront was also a delight as it allowed walking on the waterfront as a route back to the hotel which was beautiful and calming. The staff were also excellent and check-in/check-out were easy even in English as the staff keep a translator on hand. The only complaint I have is that there was some slight damage on the windowsill from what looked like moisture, but considering the climate of the area, and that they were clearly aware and working on it makes it extremely forgivable.

The Stay:

ART HOTEL Aomori was located a bit of a walk from Aomori station, but still not too bad (unless you have heavy luggage, but you can also take a bus). The hotel itself seem very grand as you enter, with display of Nebuta hanging around the entrance hall. The room itself was within expectation. It comes with all the essential amenities for the stay. The rooms is decent sized for a single person. But you might have to juggle a bit if you have large luggage(s). I did find a few small bugs, but nothing too major. All in all, the stay was a good.

The Miscellaneous:

Despite Google Map trying to lead you with the shortest route through some random streets. I found starting at Shinmachi Shopping Street, and follow it down to be a more straightforward path. The interior is decorated with Nebuta as you walk in. It definitely attracts some attention. The also offer a paid breakfast buffet if you desire. The food seem decent from pictures, but there are plenty of other options to choose from. The staff were very sincere and helpful, would recommend giving this place a try.

The staff helped us check our bags when we arrived too early for check in, arranged for us to stay in the same room when we extended our stay and arranged for an oscillating fan when we found the room to be too warm. (Temperature is controlled centrally, not in room). They offered to open the window should the fan not suffice. Also enjoyed the breakfast that was included with our stay. All staff were patient with our lack of language skills.

Four Days in Aomori

The room and bathroom were very small and below the average size of a Japanese standard room. The check in was OK. On the second day when we came back to the hotel at 5.00pm, the housekeeping did not yet made up our room and we had to wait 30 min, before our room was ready. Amenities were not fully replenished during all days of our stay (4 nights). Breakfast buffet was OK.

部屋に入ってすぐ、バスルームに自分のものではない髪の毛が落ちていたことと、黒いカビ？がありました。洗面台の裏なのでバスタブに座らないと見えない位置でしたが、とても気になってしまいました。

スタッフさんはとても親切でそれ以外はとても快適だったので残念でした。

Personal sehr hilfsbereit, alles sauber, Frühstück großartig, gute Lage zur Uferpromenade

Einziges Manko: Das Standard-DZ ist ein Einzelzimmer mit 2 Kissen. Internationale Gäste können ihr Gepäck nirgendwo hinstellen und sich dann noch drehen. Im größeren DZ haben Gäste mehr Platz für ihre Koffer. Ausräumen können sie aber eher wenig, es gibt kaum Ablagen und keine wirkliche Kleiderstange oä
Abgesehen davon war es sehr gut.

ロビーを入ると大きなねぶたが飾られておりとてもよかった。12時頃のチェックインのため電気が消してあったが18-21時頃にチェックインすれば迫力のあるねぶたがみれたと思う。
客室は清潔。広さはスーツケースを1つ広げれるか程度。
部屋からは海が見えてとっても景色がよいホテル。
Wi-Fiを簡単に繋げることが出来るのもとてもよかった。

恵まれている日本なので水道水が飲めるのは十分わかっているがペットボトル1本ぐらいは客室に欲しかった。
駐車場が提携のため次の日町を出歩こうとすればすぐ追加料金がかかること、コンビニから距離があるのは強いていうなら程度で気になるがとってもよいホテルだった。
