The resort is in need of updating. The problem is maintenance. The front door to my room lock screws came out. I had to screw back in with a dime. The iron board was broke and had to get another one. The kitchen sink had food in it. The microwave light could not be turned off. The floor was dirty in the bathroom and the sitting area. The towels had hair in them and I had to get new towels. The staff is very nice and friendly. You must empty the trash before you leave your room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is an older property, but it is clean with attentive staff and several nice amenities, making it a great stay for the price. Check-in was smooth, and we were given a map that made navigation through the property very easy. Location right by the boardwalk meant that we were able to fill the weekend with activities without having to hop in the car. Our only trouble was with the shower, which would change temperature unpredictably. However, the bathtub in our room had jets, so we thought it was a fair trade for effectively a private hot tub. This was in addition to the sauna and rooftop, covered pool and hot tub. We would absolutely return for a future trip!

Water smelled like mold, tub and jets were nasty. I wanted so bad to take a bath but didn't want to soak in that. pool and hot tub had nasty things floating all around in it. It was warm but definitely needs a cleaning.. Bed super uncomfortable and very small. View was beautiful very peaceful. The view was pretty much the only thing that made it worth it. The people were kind that was also a positive.

Ocean Sands is a great place to relax and enjoy clean spacious rooms. All of their rooms are oceanfront and have fully equipped kitchens. The tubs are huge and the pool equipped with a nice hot tub, with an outside sunning area. We stay at Ocean Sands at least 3-4 times a year.

I spent my birthday week here and I’m so happy with my decision. It was amazing. I wish I knew the name of the woman that I spoke to when I called because she was an angel. I told her it would be my birthday. She said oh really I’m gonna have a surprise for you! When I arrived at the hotel, I arrived to the most beautiful surprise from the hotel! I won’t say what it was because I don’t want to spoil it for the next person lol. But I was so surprised and happy. The layout of the room was nice. I love the balcony and the view of the ocean was amazing. Everything was clean. The pool and the hot tub were nice. The outdoor area of the pool is really nice as well. The hotel does have an elevator. That was something I was confused about before I arrived based off of other reviews that I had read. If you’re thinking about booking, go ahead and do it you won’t regret it.

Large room with a full kitchen, full size dining table, and separate bedroom with a door. Comfortable room, spacious bathroom. Parking is dicey in a garage with blind corners, narrow drive aisle. Good luck if you have a large vehicle! I was happy with the room & decision to stay here. Would do so again.

The suite I was in had a furnished kitchen with a full size Refrigerator and that was important to my stay. I had a nice balcony, overlooking the ocean on the 12th floor. Everything was clean and all was good.

Hotel is dated. Mirrors everywhere including behind the toilet. Awkward. The hotel was clean. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly. The pool and hot tub area was clean and nice. The only complaint we had was the mattress in the bedroom which was worn out and uncomfortable. Taller vehicles may not clear the parking garage. A few spots for oversized vehicles were available in front of the hotel if not taken by compact cars. It was close on my Jeep Wrangler.

The online pictures of rooms were inaccurate. Furniture was old and peeling. It's obvious their not investing money in the hotel. Lastly when time to check in there's extra charges / fees that I was not aware of and had no choice but to pay once we arrived. Surprise surprise. Wasn't a fan of the 4pm check in and the 10am check out either. Staff was nice but don't believe I'll stay there again.

There isn’t an activity room yet you pay a resort fee. What is the resort fee for? We can get a pool and place at any hotel. The activity room was storage for mattresses and furniture. There was an ATM and pinball table…

The furniture needs to be updated. The balcony door needed some WD40. Everything needs an update especially for a timeshare.

Hotel is a timeshare. It stuck terribly in lobby and in rooms. Like bad BO and right guard. Rooms were completely outdated and dirty. Hair all over bathroom and food crumbs throughout room. Only positive was ocean view. How this is rated 3.5 stars is ridiculous.

The room had an amazing view and was quite clean, the staff were very friendly in the limited contact I had with them during check in. I spoke with a couple different members of the maintenance staff on the elevator and they all seemed to enjoy their job. We used the in room jetted tub, visited the restaurant, hot tub, and pool one night which was both comfortable and clean as well. Even the fire alarm that went off was pleasant! Visited during the off season right before spring break so it was also a great value and quiet.

And the lobby coffee maker grinds the beans for fresh coffee. Parking is limited, but we always found a spot. Luggage carts are limited; we had to wait for one when checking out on a Sunday. The front desk was very understanding about our delay.
The room was nice overall, well laid out and a great view. But it had a few problems. There was no hot water in the shower when we arrived. We had to wait for maintenance to come fix it, twice. There is no conventional oven in the kitchen, just a microwave/convection combo, which I've never used (convection) before. It also lacked basic kitchen necessities like a cutting board and a decent frying pan for eggs. It was stainless, and no matter what I try, the eggs stick to the pan. The heater kept heating even when turned down to 60 (min) so we turned it off. In February. But more problematically, the bed was uncomfortable: soft, with big dips where people had slept before us. Also, it was billed as a queen bed. I have a queen bed at home, and this was smaller.
The biggest problem, though, was lack of soundproofing. The place was almost empty the first two nights, and we slept okay, But the second two nights, we were kept awake by the conversations of the people next door, people slamming doors elsewhere in the hallway, and people talking in the hallway. The overall property was clean and nicely decorated, the staff was friendly and professional, but the bed's mattress was very old, worn out with a huge sunken hole covering the majority of the mattress. The mattress was hard and completely worn out. At 6pm the shower had no hot water, the temperature was barely warm and by the emptiness of the parking lot I would say the hotel was not packed and there should have been plenty of hot water. Even the sink in the bathroom did not have hot water the next morning. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty and climbing out of the shower to get soap from the sink dispenser was required. Over all is was a very nice place to stay, but the mattress kept us awake until 3am and never did get a restful sleep. The mattress was ridiculously old, worn out!!!

There was a roach in our room when we got there. There are rats running around all around the building. No one informed us that they will be doing construction and they were hammering and beating on things all night long and all day. Staff was cooking food with curry in it that stunk up the whole hallway the whole time we were there because they left the doors open to their rooms. Other staff would be standing outside our room arguing loudly with people on the phone.

We were there in the middle of the winter. Nice and quiet, great views, great room options, plenty of parking spots and easy access to unload from the parking garage to our room. Do wish they had a special discount for adjoining suites for a family getaway. We also wonder how the parking would be during the busy summer season.
