The Hotel was very busy due to many events going on in Virginia Beach. At first I was mistakenly sent to a room that was already occupied. This was quickly, politely and professionally rectified and I was given a different room which turned out to be more convenient for me. Directly across from elevators and on a level with parking where I could easily walk to my car. Having a mini-fridge and microwave is always a plus. The best feature for me, though was having that sweet little balcony facing the ocean. What a tremendous stress reliever! I hope to return to Sandcastle Resort and will recommend it to others. One little request, though: Could you please provide tea bags in the rooms and at the Continental Breakfast for those of us who do not drink coffee? Thank you!

Staff were awesome. View was awesome. Location was really good. Breakfast was barely adequate, with very few options for diabetics. We chose to eat breakfast in town the 2nd day. On the bright side, we really liked the staff, even in the breakfast room. They were to a person happy, bright, and helpful.

Our stay at sandcastle was marred with unforseen occurances. Our jacuzzi broke and flooded our room. Mot able to use all week. They did adjust the final payment to dec. total price of final payment. The room was good otherwise. Took long time to get hot water to 9th floor for wash and shower.
Loved the veranda that faced the ocean. Breakfast very good. Hotel was fixing front entrance all of our stay.
Las palmas rest. Very good, smile 4 miles store helpful in lobby. Staff couteous. Overall good, a 3 star hotel as advertised

The bed are hard as rock!! The WiFi don’t work in the rooms only in the lobby!! The breakfast was HORRIBLE and there was a line!!! I never been to a hotel where they had security guard guide the door like we were at the club! It was insane just for coffee juice and bagels!! To pool and jacuzzi was no clean enough. The rooms wasn’t all that great. Very low budget

The hallway, carpets and elevator were not clean at all. The breakfast area was super small and tight for a hotel that size. The front desk staff was not super helpful at all. The check in process was not easy for us. Also, the room didn’t have a sliding glass balcony door.

Despite having the “clean room” sign on the door, The trash wasn’t removed from our room, no bathroom cleaning, nor were we provided clean towels each day. We had to go to the front desk to request them.

For future guess please be careful as there was a shooting with multiple victims in front of the resort. Please be aware of your surroundings

The front desk staff was super nice and friendly. The hotel is older but I do think it's clean and up kept kinda well. My kids enjoyed the pool and we were right there on the beach so we just walked to it and had a good view of it as well from the balcony. I'd bring my kids back and stay again

The location is great, I didn't think the young man at the desk was all that friendly. The hallways and stairs need to be cleaned. The room was clean, but it didn't look like it was vacuumed. The breakfast wasn't that good. I realize it is off season but the breakfast was really lacking little touches.

Toilet in first room (701) wouldn’t flush so we were moved to another room(501). Blanket in room 601 had brown stuff all over it. When we went to take showers in room 501 there was hair all in the bathtub. When I spoke to desk staff I was told to request a partial refund and this request has not been taken care.

The room was very out dated, the vinyl floor was held together with tape that kept sticking to our socks. The beds were not comfortable. The bathroom was ok. The ceilings were drop ceilings that need replacing, the water pressure was poor even on off shower times and the hot water did not get very hot. The breakfast felt like a military canteen with not hot food, they had eggo waffles in a freezer, some prepackaged muffins, 3 cereal options and coffee. The staff was nice when we checked in and parking was good for off season but the garage is tight.

Right on the beach. Close proximity to multiple restaurants, including in the hotel. Staff was very friendly. Quality of the hotel is middle of the road. To give you context, I usually stay at Hilton. This is below that quality, but it did the job for the one-night stay we needed.

The room door wouldn’t completely shut! The bathroom ceiling was a mess, breakfast wasn’t great at all. I’ve been staying at this Hotel for over 13 yrs and this was by far the worse. But I do love the Mexican restaurant that’s connected!! That is the only reason I keep booking and the staff are amazing! But something has to be done with that breakfast and the rooms need more attention!

Book a room with 2 bedroom and 6 guests. A room had a kings size bed and a living room (second bedroom) with a sofa bed.. you tell me how i supposed to fit 6 people.. front desk wasnt able to accommodate us into another room or space.. at check in the key didnt work at the rooms and had to go back to get than to work again.. during our stay the room was quiet and comfortable with a great view.. also we didnt see no bugs . Breakfast is not a continental breakfast.. it could be better but also it does the job..

Overall the Hotel was okay. One of the elevators was out of service and the shower was low and lacked pressure and lacked hot water. overall the view was amazing from the hotel room, spacious, clean, convenient to shopping and stores and right on the beach. Great location overall and good food restaurants on location with amazing service. Check in was a breeze and the guy at the front desk was professional, helpful, and hospitable. The building needs some updating but overall a good value for the stay.

good location, we were staying on the 7th floor and the elevators kept breaking. My son was trapped in one until the fire dept came to pry the doors open.
That elevator was out of order the rest of our stay. The remaining elevator kept stopping, requiring several trips via the stairs to 7th floor. The doors on the elevator had several pry marks on the door so was not very comforting everytime you had to use it. Several times I came down the elevator then had to walk back up..
my husband is disabled and can do fairly well in normal circumstances but was unable to do some things due to maybe not being able to walk the 7 flights back up.
Our car was parked on the 5th floor so it was possible to do the 2 floors and get to the car.
The rest of the stay was fine. Rooms clean and easy to get to the beach.

Check in check out both quick, easy. Front desk Clerk was helpful, pleasant and help with any questions we had. All staff was hepful polite and went out of their way to help. Only thing that was with only 1 elevator working at times the wait was a little long. Also with the shops closing Tuesday and Wednesday was a disappointing since they were my shopping days.

Hotel in Need of Renovation, Posing as a Resort.

The floor in the room wasn't clean, the shower had mold and even pictures had stains. The ocean/beach view was the nicest part. This is a hotel advertising as a resort when it is more like a hotel in need of a renovation. Charging a resort fee is just a scammy cash grab. Brooms were mounted along the corridor walls to get to the rooms, put them in a closet somewhere. The fake wood floors were uneven, had softspots and dips when you stepped in certain places. The floor had a long running crack that they just covered with tape. The parking garage is tight. We had issues with getting our truck in and was a big ordeal everytime we wanted to go out and come back to park. Some of the doors from the parking garage to the hotel corridors where the rooms are were left wide open to the public even though a room key is normally required to get in.

Floor was grimy, probably from some spray that didn’t get wiped away. Everything was fine, if not awesome. However, while packing up to leave, my husband stepped on a large cockroach. If we weren’t already leaving, I don’t know that I could have stayed an extra night knowing that more bugs were probably crawling around the room.

Great place to stay! The employees were so friendly and great at thier jobs. Check in was fast, everything was as it should have been. Reservation accurate for what I pd for. I even got to pick what floor we were on. The room was clean and well equipped. Only one elevator was working.not a big problem except for last night when a tour bus arrived. Still didnt wait long. The breakfast was ok. Mostly carbs. There was an omelet that you microwaved, not that good, some yogurt, oranges and bananas and the rest was bread. We loved our stay and we will be back!

Good choice for beach view room

The beach view was beautiful. The actual room was fine, nothing special but it was clean. Hotel clearly older the elevator wasn’t working when we got there. Breakfast was the basics for a hotel; coffee, bagels, yogurt, frozen waffles. If you’re coming for the beach it’s a great choice.

For the price I paid, not worth the stay but the location and the fact of it being a holiday is the only reason. Very dated, and the elevators were broke a lot of the time, one or the other were. Thin walls, and we found a dead roach on the floor. I've stayed at a lot of places on VB Oceanfront and this was not one of the good ones. The people however were friendly. Didn't eat their breakfast so I can't say how that was. Very tight parking deck as well.

This hotel is clean, not updated but clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Room service came twice a day sometimes to check if we needed anything. The free breakfast was awesome! They had muffins, fruit ,bagels, cream cheese, cereal.. plenty more! The gym also had a beach view and under the hotel had two restaurants and stores! Super convenient!! Also not to mention it’s near stores and the rides! Overall, great experience.

My party signed up for a three-day two-night stay, but after the second day we bought a fourth-day and third night stay. We found the room very clean and appointed with designer bed linens. When first moving in we had trouble with the TV and it was addressed immediately. All the personnel were courteous and dedicated. The included breakfast was the standard fare of instant or pre-packaged muffins, bagels, toast, French toast, yogurt, juice, coffee, etc. and we could eat as much as we wanted (in one sitting from 7 to 10 AM). The beachfront property was very pleasant, and the balconies provided a secure way to enjoy the views. The access to the beach was immediate, and there were shops and restaurants a few steps away. The elevators wear and tear betrayed the age of the building but other than the elevators, the room seemed fresh and renewed. The covered parking structure was easy to access from the guest areas at all times.
