Once again, a great stay at the Journal for a work trip.
I have stayed many times before, but think this was my first room on the front of the hotel, 9th floor.
Better view than the rear, but unfortunately, also noisier at night with both traffic noise and music from somewhere?
The staff, accommodation and food was as usual, fantastic.
Will definitely stay again, but will ask for a rear room next time.

The hotel is right in the middle of things in Bukit Bintang, with easy access to transport, restaurants, shops, etc. but the hotel itself was quiet. Nice outdoor pool, afternoon tea a bonus if you need a bit of a rest after seeing the sites. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

I am really confused why this place is not rated higher. The service was brilliant from the security guard at the door onwards; the room was big and quiet; there was a small pool; and it was minutes from shopping centres and amazing food. Don't miss a drink at Helipad, dinner at Sao Nam (book), and a breakfast at The Rabbit Hole. A wander up to Treasure Trove (15 mins) is also good for locally made/designed gifts.

We had a really lovely stay here! The hotel was very clean, the room was comfortable, and the staff were all so friendly and helpful — they really made us feel welcome. The place had such a peaceful, welcoming vibe, and you could tell real care goes into keeping it nice.

The doorman would literally run to open the door or help carry a bag — most of the staff were highly attentive and genuinely seemed to care about guests’ comfort.

The only small downsides were the TV and the breakfast service. The TV was quite old, with limited app options and fewer than 20 channels available. When we tried to use Netflix, the app didn’t work, and it had to be replaced with another TV. The staff handled it quickly and politely, but a simple update to newer TVs would make a big difference.

The breakfast gentleman was kind, but it would’ve been nice if he’d checked in each morning to see if we wanted tea, coffee, or eggs.

The afternoon service was a really lovely touch — it made the stay feel extra special and showed how much effort the hotel puts into looking after guests.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. With a few small improvements, it would be perfect!

The room is considerably clean and spacious, though there were visible stains around the inner rims of the toilet bowl. The room is not very sound proof and talking along the corridors and water draining when upper floor showers can be heard. Staff are polite and helpful. Good location with a short walking distance of 5-10 min to pavilion and MRT/LRT. Next to a good nasi kandar eatery which is open 24 hr.

15-20 mins walk to KLCC or Petronas Tower. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. The hotel room is quite spacious even the bathroom. Breakfast was great and they even have complimentary buffet at 3pm. Pool is small and gym. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room is always clean and always with complimentary water.

Great service from all staff, especially those manning the reception desk. Location is good with a 5 to 10 mins walk to Bukit Bintang area. Room is spacious enough for triple sharing. Room was at the end of the corridor. Corridor is too dim.

Fabulous location

The location of this hotel suited us perfectly - eateries very close, several bars nearby, Bukit Bintang for retail and public transportation is convenient.
While the hotel is rated as 5 star, it is a bit tired in parts, but it's quiet and comfortable. Free snacks are served from 3-5 pm each day and happy hour starts at 4pm.
We would definitely stay there again.

The staff are all wonderful, very friendly but professional. The rooms were great with everything you would need for a few days in KL. The position is very near public transport which was reliable and quick. Grab works well but the traffic can be very busy. The shopping mall The pavilion was a mere 5 min stroll away and had good eateries, shops & coffee shops in an air conditioned mall. It was the start of the covered walkway to Petronas towers so a pleasant 15 minute stroll. Would definitely recommend if wanting a good 4 star hotel in KL

This hotel is absolutely superb. We had the best time staying in this hotel. The hotel is in great condition and our room was lovely. It has a rooftop pool and bar which is fantastic and it is in the perfect location. The breakfast was all fresh and a great selection. All the staff are super friendly and will do anything to help. They do a free afternoon tea (3 -5) with a lovely selection of hot and cold dishes together with free drinks. I really don’t believe you will find a better hotel to stay in when in KL. If ever we return to KL this is the place we would stay. Do yourself a favour and book this hotel.
