We stayed in order to attend an anniversary celebration. Our room was very well presented and quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. Overall the hotel is a welcoming, pleasant place to stay. The party we attended was well organised and the food and drink was excellent. We used the swimming pool facility which was very well presented - clean and warm facilities and pool.

Strong self-closers on doors make them slam when people are coming in and out of their rooms late at night and early in the morning

The room looked lovely but unfortunately the heating wasn’t working. Did call up the receptionist she said she was going to put the heating up waited another hour and it was still cold by then. It was too late. The kids were retired so we had to sleep in the cold next morning, I did report it in. However, if I seen that the lady on the receptionist she did offer another room for us to go in but I said unfortunately we’ve already settled in and unpacked and it’s going to be too much for the kids moving from one room to another she did offer complementary drinks and a late checkout but again we left early on the day of leaving.
Perhaps before customers check in rooms should be checked if all is in order. Breakfast menu wasn’t clear the member of staff didn’t explain it properly and for someone who doesn’t understand what is included in the price misread swimming again I understand all the times and everything was already put on the information but sometimes living a busy lifestyle you don’t remember the fine prince did ask a member of staff she didn’t explain it properly so unfortunately we missed a day of swimming because we had other plans throughout the day so couldn’t make it.

The room was very cold. The heaters didn’t work and we reported hotel 3 times and they gave small heaters about 11.30pm and it’s didn’t heat up the full room.

I paid Expedia 235 pounds and I want at least 50% discount to my cc refund please.

We weren’t given a suite which we originally booked they gave us a family room, our sugar for tea had all mold over the sachets couldn’t use them, heating wasn’t working we had to ask for heater because our room was cold, bathrooms was discusting, It was not worth the money we paid for one night.

This was so lovely after an awful year following cancer treatment and I paid for us to come away as she had been so supportive in every way . Convenient for exploring Oxford. Parking included. Nice big room for a family with walk in wardrobe and nice bathroom. Breakfast was good and the kids enjoyed the pool. Bit awkward in the pool at times as it was also used for spa days- bit of a tricky combination- lots of families swimming and people trying to relax! Reception staff very unwelcoming- not initially manned- could hear staff behind the screen chatting. Long queue formed. Very slow service. Very hard working staff at breakfast- despite being very busy a lady worked very hard to keep food topped up.

Rooms - spacious, clean and large 50 inch TV is great.

Breakfast - fantastic. Nice veggie sausages and excellent hash browns - English breakfast was excellent. Only thing that could be improved is having cheese in the breakfast.

Swimming pool/spa - pool a bit shallow, but otherwise fine. Would have been incredible if there were a jacuzzi. Steam room and sauna are both great.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

On check in I left a review about the lack of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser), and the next day the staff left these in the room for us, which show good attention to detail and to feedback, which is well appreciated.

Will definitely be returning!

Great hotel. Room was spacious and nice to have doors leading to the courtyard outside. The bar staff were so friendly and welcoming and made a fuss of our dog, bringing him water and treats.
The pool was lovely, shame there isn’t a jacuzzi though.

Ended up putting mattress on the floor and they were fine. It was good that kids could use the pool but the area needs more modernising as it looks a little tired. Excellent staff, made us feel extremely welcome from checking in. Checking in was smooth. Dining room options excellent. Thank you lovely Ellie. Delicious food- fish and chips and steak and ale pie. The room was great and again we really appreciated the effort that the housekeeping staff went to in preparing the room especially because we were there to celebrate a birthday.
Booking reservations- Tanya is amazing in sorting everything out.
Nice lounge, nice staff in the gym and Spa. A relaxing stay . Great choice for breakfast. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you to the lovely staff at the Oxford Belfry.

No credit offered; reception said they would take up with finance, which they didn't, still waiting for an email and a credit to my credit card, EV charging was cheap ! Stayed at the hotel four times over the last few weeks due to some business trips in the area. The staff have been excellent and very friendly and welcoming, the rooms have been absolutely what I needed; big clean; comfy bed; and have an area to relax and know to work so really happy with the whole experience. The pool and steam room were in good condition and nice little bonus since I had to travel down on a Sunday for work! Restaurant was also lovely and the breakfast was brilliant with plenty of options

Although the restaurant did not appear to busy we were ignored for long periods even though staff were scurrying about. Property is a bit of a maze, a few more internal directions needed. Pool area a bit cramped. Meal ‘deal’ option was not adequately explained which led to confusion at checkout. Very nice property. At times it was hard to find staff at the front desk. Keep in mind this location is away from the larger town area of Thame - so if you don’t have a car you will be relying on taxis. The food in the lounge was good and the separate restaurant seemed busy. Be sure to pack swimming clothes to take advantage of the spa amenities!

Many reasons to like this hotel. A small, but perfectly reasonable gym, a lovely pool, ample parking, cheap EV charging, great staff, modern ish rooms. However The rooms are very warm with limited opportunity to open the windows due to the security grill ( perfectly reasonable ) but as the only ventilation, very noisy due to the proximity of the M40.

Poor Hygiene Standards in Pool and Spa Areas

Upon arrival, I found a significant amount of hair in both the shower and changing cubicles, and the steam room had a strong, unpleasant sewer-like odor.

While swimming, I repeatedly came across hair in the pool, and the general poolside area was also unclean, with visible hair scattered across the floor.

In the restaurant, there was a leak affecting the carpet, which caused a noticeable odor. Unfortunately, we were seated near this area during lunch.

Later, during our dinner reservation, we were again placed in the same area with the lingering smell.

Part of the lunch was overcooked, and the main dish contained spoiled lettuce hidden beneath the other ingredients.

Additionally, the cocktails we ordered appeared to be missing key ingredients.

We were checked in by Emma, who was excellent.

Polite, friendly, and efficient. Everything was done quickly, and she explained everything well, even showing us the way to our room.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, though it was very hot and there was no fan, so we had to sleep with the windows open.

The only issue we experienced was with breakfast.

We arrived at 9:15 (service ends at 9:30). By the time we had served ourselves tea and cereal, it was 9:30. I then asked for scrambled eggs, only to be told that the chef was no longer available as breakfast had finished.

We were never advised to prioritise hot food first, and for the sake of just one minute, it was a little disappointing especially since we had arrived within the stated serving time.

Hotel was very clean and main areas were excellent.
Room was clean and largely well maintained but the floorboards were creaky in some places, the shower wasn't always hot and the bathroom extractor fan was pretty loud.
Receptionist when we checked in was fantastic, but when we checked out the receptionist (different person) was on the phone, which wasn't a problem, but the other staff member stood at the desk just stared at us and didn't speak.
Bar staff, although efficient behind the bar, left tables to be cleared for some time and were not verycommunicative.
Good hotel, can't fault the cleanliness, but customer service was lacking ever so slightly.

Better than expected!

First impressions were great, the staff were helpful, and the room was spacious with a huge comfortable bed (although I would take my own pillow next time). The room had everything you could need; a dressing area, full length mirror, safe, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water, even an ironing board and iron.
But, then you start to notice little things like the limescale and heavy water marks on the chrome fittings in the bathroom and around the shower heads. The shower screen wasn't wide enough and the floor got very wet, also, the hand rail isn't in the best place as I kept knocking my elbows on it.
Initially, it looks clean, but it could really do with a deep clean. There were also several stains on the bedroom carpet.
In the bar area, some of the chairs had food stains on them which would probably have been quite easy to clean off.
We had a light lunch in the bar on the Friday, and dinner for 5 in the evening. The food was great and we were all very happy with our choices.
We all had breakfast on 2 mornings which had a huge selection, including fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, fresh muffins and pastries, and a full cooked breakfast.
Throughout our stay there were painter/decorators working in the corridor with wet paint signs dotted around but it didn't create too much of a problem.
Apart from a few small niggles, the hotel was better than expected, all the staff were really helpful and friendly, and we would definitely stay there again.

We booked two rooms during a very hot UK summer, one had air conditioning but the other didn't. Instead a desk fan was provided, but getting the fan to a suitable height to be useful in bed was a challenge which made sleeping difficult.

Thw swimming pool is also a lot smaller than it looks on the photos, certainly not usable for actual swimming. There are times for kids but we went to try and get some quieter time there but we're told it was closed.

The location is pretty good if you're just looking to drive to Oxford park and ride. And in general the rest of the hotel was fine.

Just back from an overnight stay and I must say what a super place the Oxford Belfry was! I was staying with my daughter and two grandchildren. They gave us a suite with separate bedrooms which was fantastic. Huge rooms with double basin shower room plus a separate toilet and basin. Loads of space to put belongings. Very clean, very comfortable beds, complimentary water and tea/coffee (machine with pods), bath robes too.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was great - easy flowing layout, good selection of hot and cold, it was great.

The room had low ceilings, and the air con unit kept beeping all night. Breakfast buffet was ok but not great, 3 of the 5 hot drinks machines were out of order. Staff were great

Great stay

Clean and comfortable. Excellent stay near Oxford but away from the bussle of town. Abundant safe parking well suited to larger vehicles.

Nice location just south of Oxford with easy access to M40 highway.

Room - large room with large bathroom. Very clean, able to open the windows (no AC), and had a fan we could use which made sleeping in the warm room much more comfortable. No fridge.

Pool - well equiped locker room with private showers, changing rooms, lockers (£1 coin deposit), baithing suit spinner and hair dryers. The pool area, sauna and steam room could use a little scrubbing to bring it up to standards.

Dining room - we did not have a reservation, but the staff accommodated us. They were short staffed, took 30 minutes for beverage order. Received our food which was good, thankfully! Prices are on the high side. Our server was very apologetic for the delays.

Other - cool coffee machines in a couple of locations that will whip you up an espresso, latte or hot cocoa. Loved this.
