Very spacious and comfortable family room with a beautiful rainforest shower head in a massive shower. We slept very well and felt very at home. We also really enjoyed the spa facilities and swimming pool. It felt like we were on holiday although it was only a 1 night work trip. I would definitely stay again.

I rented a suite for three people and there were no sheets for the sofa bed or towels. Very limited service for a 4-star hotel. A second room also lacked towels. The hotel is showing its age.

i like staying at this hotel and the rooms are always clean. The bar restaurant area was a real mess! Untidy, old food plates and glasses/cups everywhere. Floor dirty and unkempt.
My salad was less than ok. not a described, missing ingredients.
The staff were over run and under real pressure
Will stay again, definitely won't eat.

Enjoyable two night stay. Very warm, which made the pool a godsend. Breakfast was a bit cramped and bland, if I was being picky. Lovely room, great bed and good size walk-in shower. Overall, a very definite thumbs up.

We did enjoy it very much, the staff were excellent and attentive. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice and great quality. However the pool was a little disappointing, quite small and when looking closely there were black bits floating in the water and a small amount of litter. Maybe this is like all pools when examined closely, I don't know. Also we stayed during a heatwave and there was no Aircon in the room. For a four star hotel it was a surprise and disappointment.

Beware web site descriptions do not match realities. A 'Deluxe' room is described as having a bath tub and countryside views. We had no bath and out look across the car park. Room had no heating (helpful staff member brought in a plug-in heater), broken windows, missing light bulb and no clothes hangars. Minor things but not what you want when arriving late a night.
In the morning , woken by folk in room above as the floors creek and there is a lack of sound insulation.
At breakfast, bread, pastries and butter ran out.

Good bits: EV chargers work well. Hotel staff all v friendly .

Overall, disappointed to not receive the experience we had been offered and paid for.

The staff were very welcoming and polite. There is ample parking. We stayed in a suite which was spacious, clean and had good amenities. There is a good sized swimming pool which has allocated children hours. There was a good selection at breakfast and you can also order off a menu too. The restaurant also provided a good selection for dinner. The hotel is in a good location and a short uber ride from Oxford city centre.

Good hotel, definitely need a car. Rooms are nice, ours was a little warm, unsure if air-conditioning was available. We were very fortunate and had a free upgrade - big room, clean, good bathroom also clean. Bar and restaurant are both nice - food at both is very good - although drinks prices are a tad high. Restaurant is a bit under staffed at breakfast, if busy getting a clear table can be a challenge. But all staff are really friendly and helpful. We also used the spa - the lounge is lovely and the pool and sauna are also both good.

Where do I start… check in-no one took a deposit so had trouble with having to pay for everything as I couldn't bill room until I finally sorted it at the front desk.
Room key didn’t work second day because my reservation of adding a night seemed to confuse staff so had to be at the front desk every morning until that was sorted.
Room restock was HORRIBLE. Had to call every night of a 4 night stay because staff had not refreshed at least 1-5things such ascoffee, tissue, sugar, water, spoon, coffee cups. They didn’t clean room, wipe fixtures, or vacuum. Bed was made by throwing up the duvet and haphazardly throwing the pillows on the bed.
Had a young woman masseuse who thought she was a medical doctor and I had to tell her 4 times to stop working on my back in a sensitive area and she told me “but you are tight all over” so we work where it’s needed!!!!!!! Excuse me I have been in this body for 60 years and I know it better than you little girl!!!!
Room was noisy as it was right next to the utility closet where the staff made a huge ruckus getting the vacuums out at 7:30am every morning.
Fire alarm went off randomly one morning at 8am-no communication, information. Nothing.
I ignored it as the service was so subpar I figure it was a false alarm..and it was but it went on for 20 minutes.
You get complimentary items first night but then couldn’t get them again even though I offered to pay for them to get them.
Got impression all staff just did the BARE minimum

There was ample parking and it was very easy to park including electric parking points. The room was very clean, I did not stay for breakfast so can't comment, but the evneing meal in the restaurant was five stars from me, excellent food. The only negative thing I have to say is that was waiting 30 minutes for desserts and the outside tables in the garden did not cleared throughout the day, and it was a sunny day, so ther ewere lots of people outside but all the tables had dirty glasses on them. Overall a very ennjoyable stay and I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

The Belfry Hotel in Oxford was a major disappointment and nowhere near its supposed 4-star standard. The room was not properly cleaned, the bathtub and sink were visibly dirty, with waste water backing up when using the tap. The carpet was filthy, and I avoided the spa entirely due to hygiene concerns. Basic amenities were lacking too, only a combined shampoo/shower gel was provided, despite Crabtree & Evelyn products being advertised.

The bed was uncomfortable, and to make matters worse, a false fire alarm at 1:30am had all guests standing outside in the cold, with staff appearing disorganised and not properly accounting for people. After that, there was constant noise from slamming doors in the corridor until checkout.

Food was equally poor, breakfast was below average, with rubbery fried eggs, and dinner (fish and chips) was nothing special. Check-in was slow and inefficient, and no one asked about the stay at checkout — which says a lot.

At around £200 a night, this hotel is significantly overpriced and falls well short of expectations.

Staff friendly. First night we had a meal in the restaurant and the food was served Luke warm to cold. To be fair. The manager asked us to return the next night to give them another chance. We did and the food was excellent and the manager gave us a bottle of wine free of charge. The manager of the restaurant was professional and understanding. Full marks to a real gentleman. Went into the spa and pool. It was dirty and looked tired. On the whole. Our room 170. Was a fair walk away but a very clean and large room. Looked brand new. Could do with more staff at the bar. Queue was long every night.

The hotel staff are exceptional, they make you feel welcome. I had a lovely chat with a cleaner as she helped me navigate the corridors to my room, she really went above and beyond. All the staff seemed happy to be working at the hotel. The upgraded room was very spacious and had stunning views from the window.

This wasn’t our first stay at this hotel and this time we prepared for the busy restaurant by booking a table for dinner in advance. The restaurant is always busy. However, this precaution did not help as the standard of service was chaotic. The food we did have was good. But we would not have tried again on our second night. Disappointing. We also noticed that the public areas had been refurbished but this didn’t extend to the bedrooms.

We stayed in order to attend an anniversary celebration. Our room was very well presented and quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. Overall the hotel is a welcoming, pleasant place to stay. The party we attended was well organised and the food and drink was excellent. We used the swimming pool facility which was very well presented - clean and warm facilities and pool.

Strong self-closers on doors make them slam when people are coming in and out of their rooms late at night and early in the morning

The room looked lovely but unfortunately the heating wasn’t working. Did call up the receptionist she said she was going to put the heating up waited another hour and it was still cold by then. It was too late. The kids were retired so we had to sleep in the cold next morning, I did report it in. However, if I seen that the lady on the receptionist she did offer another room for us to go in but I said unfortunately we’ve already settled in and unpacked and it’s going to be too much for the kids moving from one room to another she did offer complementary drinks and a late checkout but again we left early on the day of leaving.
Perhaps before customers check in rooms should be checked if all is in order. Breakfast menu wasn’t clear the member of staff didn’t explain it properly and for someone who doesn’t understand what is included in the price misread swimming again I understand all the times and everything was already put on the information but sometimes living a busy lifestyle you don’t remember the fine prince did ask a member of staff she didn’t explain it properly so unfortunately we missed a day of swimming because we had other plans throughout the day so couldn’t make it.

My daughter and I were absolutely blown away by the kindness and surprise when we entered the room x absolutely beautiful towel work and all the other special treats. This was so lovely after an awful year following cancer treatment and I paid for us to come away as she had been so supportive in every way . Convenient for exploring Oxford. Parking included. Nice big room for a family with walk in wardrobe and nice bathroom. Breakfast was good and the kids enjoyed the pool. Bit awkward in the pool at times as it was also used for spa days- bit of a tricky combination- lots of families swimming and people trying to relax! Reception staff very unwelcoming- not initially manned- could hear staff behind the screen chatting. Long queue formed. Very slow service. Very hard working staff at breakfast- despite being very busy a lady worked very hard to keep food topped up.

Rooms - spacious, clean and large 50 inch TV is great.

Breakfast - fantastic. Nice veggie sausages and excellent hash browns - English breakfast was excellent. Only thing that could be improved is having cheese in the breakfast.

Swimming pool/spa - pool a bit shallow, but otherwise fine. Would have been incredible if there were a jacuzzi. Steam room and sauna are both great.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

On check in I left a review about the lack of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser), and the next day the staff left these in the room for us, which show good attention to detail and to feedback, which is well appreciated.

Will definitely be returning!

Great hotel. Room was spacious and nice to have doors leading to the courtyard outside. The bar staff were so friendly and welcoming and made a fuss of our dog, bringing him water and treats.
The pool was lovely, shame there isn’t a jacuzzi though.

Amazing staff everywhere. Amazing breakfast. Room was lovely. Just the mattress was very springy and the pull out sofa bed had a metal frame that kids kept catching their legs on. Ended up putting mattress on the floor and they were fine. It was good that kids could use the pool but the area needs more modernising as it looks a little tired. Overall a great stay and the location was good.

Excellent staff, made us feel extremely welcome from checking in. Checking in was smooth. Dining room options excellent. Thank you lovely Ellie. Delicious food- fish and chips and steak and ale pie. The room was great and again we really appreciated the effort that the housekeeping staff went to in preparing the room especially because we were there to celebrate a birthday.
Booking reservations- Tanya is amazing in sorting everything out.
Nice lounge, nice staff in the gym and Spa. A relaxing stay . Great choice for breakfast. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you to the lovely staff at the Oxford Belfry.

Reception staff arrogant. Check in really slow and very painful. Not offered an invoice prior to settling the account. Settled the account and I was overcharged. No credit offered; reception said they would take up with finance, which they didn't, still waiting for an email and a credit to my credit card, EV charging was cheap ! Dinner was extremely good, at breakfast, items were missing and not topped up.

Power went out on Monday morning for 1-2 hours (including no water) causing delays. No concession was made by the hotel, e.g. a discount or free meal etc. Surprising that a big hotel like this has no proper back-up solution.
