The doors to the rooms make the most horrendous noise when being closed. Never experienced such loud banging all day and night. The cleaners are also shouting up the corridors until around 5pm I got very little rest in this place.
The car park needs a zebra crossing to safely get you across to your car.
Water in the room would be a nice touch for a Hilton.

Had two visits to the pool and hot tubs and these were busy but amazing. The rooms were clean, tidy and well stocked. Stag were very friendly and helpful and even gave us a free warmed chocolate cookie. Worth every penny

Great hotel and staff. Made use of the sauna and steam room while on a business trip. Friendly & helpful staff.
Only negative was, what I believe to be a nosey lift that I could hear at night, I am a light sleeper so others may not notice.
Would stay again, hopefully get a room away from the lift 😂

First of all, receptionists on arrival & departure were lovely and helpful. The room was clean and bed comfortable.

The reason for the mediocre review is 2 issues
1. I’m sure when I made my 2 night booking I booked and paid for Breakfast for myself and my husband.. however when we arrived the booking showed room only. It was impossible to check and I would like to see the process I went through when I booked the twin room.
I had also made a room booking for 1 night for my son through same website and this did include breakfast.. so I paid extra £26 for Sunday breakfast so we could all eat together..
Disappointed that my booking did not contain breakfast
2. The Sunday breakfast was absolutely dreadful. The plates, glasses, cups and bowls weren’t washed properly.. There was minimal selection for vegans/vegetarians.. and there was only boiled egg available.. we had to wait for croissants to be replenished.. again, a disappointing experience.

Stayed here many times and would stay again. Good parking and fairly modern throughout. The gym and pool are great and well looked after. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the bathroom was tidy.
Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice, although it is quite expensive. The evening meal was nice but there weren’t many healthy options available. The room was comfortable, but there was no fan, which would have helped.
Overall, a good place to stay and I would happily return.

The room was a king room ( two twin beds joined together) very uncomfortable and the beds were awful.

Only pizza was a available on the friday night on the late night menu.

Breakfast was cold on Sunday morning (sausages, bacon and beans), no pastries.

Very poor compared to how previous stays have been.

Disappointing experience – not what I expected from Hilton

Unfortunately, this stay didn’t live up to the Hilton standard I was expecting.

In the bar/lounge area, we sat near a TV hoping to watch the news or football and tried to order a simple snack (garlic bread). We were told food wasn’t allowed there, as it wasnt considered part of the restaurant. This was confusing, as the area looked and felt similar, and there was also a “please wait to be seated” stand nearby. The policy felt overly restrictive and unclear. Adding to this, another group sat near to us and appeared to receive warmer, more flexible service, which made the experience feel unfair.

The room itself was also disappointing. While not filthy, it lacked a “Hilton feel” — there was a large red stains on the carpet, a noticeable mark on the bedroom mirror, very old and unattractive windows that didn’t match the décor, and noise from doors slamming below (at first I thought it was fireworks). Overall, the room felt more like a budget hotel than a Hilton.

Given the premium pricing (e.g. £15 for a large glass of wine), I expected much better in terms of comfort, clarity, and guest-focused service.

Room and hotel are all lovely but there was an incident with clothes and trainers of my parters going missing while he was swimming. He checked every locker and it was all nowhere to be found. Staff were alerted but by that time my parents was a little upset and confused and then the trainers were found behind the counter and locker. Where he had already checked and not left the items.

We ordered 2 connecting rooms as we have a family of 5 and the hotel rooms do not accommodate that many people.
Upon check in, the hotel was not able to provide connecting rooms for us and would not let us cancel the second room due to our group size. If they had reached out and let us know they could not do connecting rooms we would have booked somewhere else. They reached out about other things before check in and I feel like this was an important thing to communicate with me.
I told them we were not sleeping in separate rooms and they were not able to accommodate us. We stayed in one room the entire trip and they refused to refund the other room or provide any compensation.

Room smelled and seemed to be mould on the window frame. Staff shut the bar early in front of me at 10:50pm rather than 11pm as shown on front desk. Was exhausted so went to sleep and to be fair slept well - used the pool next morning which was excellent. Not great / not worst I ve experienced but work needed to bring up to scratch on all fronts.

Hotel was fabulous and we had a great stay. Only a couple of boggles - the bins hadn’t been emptied in 2 of the rooms and the pool area was taken over by a large group of boys and men. Unfortunately the adults didn’t control the behaviour of the boys which spoiled the peace for everyone.
On the whole the stay was great and the staff were excellent.

We specifically want to give shout outs to Sandra, the Graduate Manager who checked us in and made us feel most welcome, the housekeeping team who acted with pit crew like speed and precision when they changed our bedding 10 mins before the end of their shift after we forgot to request no feather pillows/duvets due to allergies, and Annie & Helen in the F&B team who were just amazing throughout our stay. I arrived at 6.30pm after a 300 mile drive to be informed that my pre-booked room was no longer available. I stay in hotels a lot and have never known this to happens before, a point I made to the reception staff who informed me its quite normal and happens often. ! The reception staff then spent half an hour on the phone to nearby hotels trying to fine a room for me which they eventually did, so back in the car for a drive to a hotel a few miles away. I’m a Hilton Honours member and this incident has put me off staying at their hotels again unfortunately.

Maybe its just me but I found it ok/average. Breakfast is extortionate so didn't bother. Bar ran out of 5 draught lagers/cider. Spa facilities are fantastic, staff there are great.
Reception staff checking out answer the (silently) ringing phone in middle of checking me out not so great. Hotel is a bit dated decor wise in rooms and corridors. It's a ok hotel and we only chose it for the pool (we're getting refurb done on our house and just needed a few nights away) but I wouldn't stay again or recommend it.

Give it a miss

Checked in around 7pm. During check in staff walked off to discuss staffing issues with other staff members and left us waiting. We asked we dining and advised re times. Didn’t advise to book. Tried to visit restaurant told no space ( clearly was ) and had large tables coming in. We ordered a take out. Whilst waiting in reception for this no further guests entered the dining room (50 mins). I approached reception to suggest they encourage people to book in advance if hotel is busy ( Premier inn had emailed us the week before to do this !) Staff member cut me off part way through and said. I have been advising people book on check in.
Booked a suite sofa bed very poor quality.

Stayed last year and it’s not half as good as it was before. Tables not laid out for hot food at breakfast and slow service at lunch. Very poor overall.

Freezing cold rooms, do not stay here if you expect a comfortable temperature.
Inadequate heating in the rooms.
Only 1 tiny electric heater, not enough capacity to heat such a big room. Not heating in bathroom.
I asked to be moved, still exactly the same.
They charged me best part of £200 to be freezing cold. Trying to save money by not heating the rooms, you don’t expect this from Hilton.
I woke in the night with a nasty chill. Did not sleep after that.

Customer Service - This IS how to do it!

Have not been at the DT for a while but was back for a short stay.

There can be no doubt that there is a need for an upgrade within the hotel but in many ways the staff make up for this. Always; helpful, polite and incredibly friendly.

To all those many Hotels in the area, where I have stayed...my advice would be; make a visit, watch, listen and learn...to how it should be done

Overall great stay when we pointed out that they had not left coffee and milk in the room it was sorted and given drinks in the bar which was great we also asked that shower gel be topped up needless to say this was not done but Ann the duty manager took it up and was really apologetic and gave us breakfast where Ann Marie was just like Ann really apologetic these two ladies really impressed me and the wife that we will be back again

Not Hilton standard as I understand it

Reception staff pleasant.
Rooms sparce so very echoey , door shut very loudly..nothing you can do this to stop it.
So making a very disturbed night sleep due to the noise from other guests etc. Couple this with the noisy springy mattress and cracking headboard made for a bad nights sleep on the uncomfortable bed.

Also had a fire alarm go off so guests and swimmers etc from the health club stood in the car park for twenty minutes in the pouring rain....

Excellent from start to finish

The stay from booking on line to the end could not have been better. I am disabled and my mobility is poor so the room was built around my needs. I had a problem with a leak in the bathroom and when I reported it the plumber was in attendance within five minutes. My friends and I had lunch on the second day and it was lovely. The only complaint was it could have been warmer. Nothing was a problem to any of the staff from checking in to breakfast to cleaners and everyone I spoke to was extremely helpful. It definitely warranted 5 stars.

Car parking on site good. Staff friendly and helped. Hotel is getting well worn. Breakfast was cold and had an upset tummy later I day from sausage and bacon. Didn’t take breakfast second day because of it. Location is good for M8 and city centre.

The water for the toilet sometimes does fill. It would eventually fill but could take 30 mins to overnight. We call the front desk for them to fix it. They sent someone within half hour but still the same. I ended using the bathroom in the lobby so my wife can flush the toilet when she wakes up in the morning. Not a pleasant stay.
