Overall, a really good stay and excellent value for money.

In general it's very good, staffs are friendly, bed is comfortable, room is clean, if I have to moan about it, one of the towel is a little passed its best and frails at its edges and that's about it.

As we were traveling to Aberdeenshire we booked a 1 night stop over on our outbound and return journey.
The owner and his staff were very friendly and accommodating.
He provided us with a short history of the property which had been in his family for 4 generations.
The rooms during both our stays were clean and comfortable with a team / coffee making facilities on the room and shower / toilet room attached.

Situated on the edge of a farm it is reasonable to expect an occasional cobweb that could be out of sight of housekeeping. With the age of the building you should not expect soundproofing or air conditioning ... but, my room was clean, spacious and well provided with quality items (fresh milk available on request).
Breakfast far exceeded expectations given the price-point, again, tasty and great quality, cooked to order.
Excellent value for money, I hope to return soon.

The room had nearly everything we needed although another bedside table and some hooks would be most welcome. Breakfast was good and there was a great variety. We had a lovely stay at Herdshill Guest House. Easy to find, easy to park and a really friendly, helpful and welcoming owner. Everything was spotlessly clean, we had a big room for 3 adults with a bathroom and great shower - plenty of hot water. The bedroom was spacious with large windows so the room was light and airy, even though we stayed during a mini-heatwave! The house is beautiful, we sat in the comfortable lounge reading our books and also went for a walk on the disused railway opposite the house. The beds were comfortable and we all slept very well. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, plenty of food, tea and coffee, all served with a lovely friendly manner. We especially enjoyed the potato scones - first time we had eaten them! We would definitely recommend this place, we stopped here on our way back from the Hebrides to Bristol and it was the perfect break.

Halfway stop up and down to see family. Welcoming host knowledgeable of the area places to stay and eat. Dog friendly which was brilliant our well behaved 15week old lab slept in her crate. Great place, conveniently situated. Owner could not have been more friendly or helpful which was very much appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic, as was the conversation. Brilliant shower with good power was another excellent addition.
The only thing that wasn't exceptional about this place was the noise. We could hear everything that happened in our neighbour's room, including when they got up to use the bathroom. There was also a fair bit of road noise despite the windows being closed. So I would say if you are a light sleeper like me, bring earplugs.

This is our normal accommodation in the area, as we have family nearby but they don’t have a spare room. I couldn’t speak too highly about the place. Scott and Maggie are perfect hosts, the breakfast is lovely, the free WiFi good, and the rooms very clean.

My friend and I stayed here for 4 days and it was great. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are fairly modest (by north american standards), but are very clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was excellent with a variety of choices including a full Scottish breakfast. It would be hard to find a better value for your money with all things considered. If I venture into this part of Scotland again I will definitely try to stay here.

The guest house was a little further out of town than we realised, but the welcome we received and the friendliness of both Scott, Maggie and their team made up for any short comings. Nothing was too much trouble. The place had a very friendly and welcoming feel , home from home. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice. Both check-in and check-out were easy. All in all a great stay.

They were also very helpful in directing us to Motherwell to do some genealogy research on my husband's grandfather and family. Very nice stay :)

I booked for 2 nights in Feb. Very pleasant welcome and check in on first night. Guesthouse was quiet too woth only 1 other guest staying at the same time. Room clean and functional and fine for the price I paid.
Unfortunately I had a poor sleep on my first night due to a barking dog being cared for by the proprietors in a room nearby my bedroom. It barked occasio ally in the wee hrs but decided to for it at 5.50am so that was it for the sleep! I did try but the bodyclock kicked in.
I spoke to Jim who was apologetic and he offered to move me as far away from the dog for my second night. I slept soundly and the second room was as comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent on both mornings and the aforementioned mutt apart, I enjoyed my stay and would recomend the business to anyone else looking for a peaceful stop near Wishaw.
