The pictures online showed a room with a bath. No rooms have baths now. Corridors in hotel were freezing, radiators were switched off. On the plus side the food was excellent and the staff were great.

The staff, from the reception to the restaurant were absolutely fantastic. Knew my name and used it, I felt like their most important customer, even though the hotel/restaurant seemed busy.
Hotel is clean and comfortable, room (8) is small but perfect for one person unless you really want to spread out or perhaps are staying a bit longer.
Some of the pipework looks a bit \"vintage\" but to be honest all this does is to add to the overall comfortable charm of the place.
Food in the restaurant was excellent.

Having mobility issues they didn’t have lifts etc so for wheelchair access it’s not suitable but they did have a banister/handrail on the stairs and everything on the ground floor (restaurant and bar) was all on the same level and the main entrance is level too for easy access.

I've used this hotel several times over recent years and it is on a downward trajectory. The worst part was the toilets adjacent to the dining and bar area, they were truly revolting, what one might expect at a busy football stadium rather than a quiet hotel on a Bank Holiday weekend! No excuse for that! Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful but one rather slow barmaid let me sit in an empty bar for over fifteen minutes before realising I wanted to order food. Chipped paint, bathroom towels with holes and grubby carpets paint a picture of slow decline... I won't be back!

I had stayed in 2021 and thought the room decor was quite tired; I don't think that's changed really, although I appreciated having both an iron and an ironing board. Some Glasgow hotels I could mention expect you to collect said items from reception and get them in a lift yourself.
While the restaurant- bar area is very modern, I think the food was quite pricey but attractively presented. While I slept very well, my only real complaint was my room was quite cold in the morning. However, the staff were all excellent- approachable, friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay again when visiting the town.

A one night stay to recharge the batteries after a hectic few days. We had our wedding at this hotel 50 years ago and our golden wedding get-together here this spring, so this had to be the place to chill ! Not disappointed. Good food and helpful staff.

Found this little gem whilst looking for a stopover hotel traveling from Winchester to the Highlands.
Fabulous hotel, friendly staff,good food and friendly service.
Rooms are well presented, also we were traveling with a dog so good to find a dog friendly hotel.

Probably the friendliest staff we've encountered in any hotel anywhere in the world! Unfortunately, the warm welcome couldn't make up for the standard of the accommodation. Looked as though the bathroom had been recently refurbed, but the room itself was small, extremely tired and in desperate need of an upgrade. Even in today's inflated market, we thought it represented poor value for money. Sorry!

The team at the Strathaven Hotel were very friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised to have a wonderful breakfast included, starting our day off on a great foot. There is a long hallway to get to the rooms and the floors can be noisy when people are walking, but we were almost at the furthest end so there wasn't lots of people. Overall, it was a great place to break up our drive north!

Last minute booking and certainly not disappoined! Staff excellent, food excellent, room excellent and location excellent. It was just an overnight stay but we were able to leave the car at the hotel to walk down into Strathaven for a mooch around. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou from June & Peter xxx

Only 1 night!
Just staying for 1 night with my son who was taking part in car rally next day, unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast started and realised this when booking into reception, we also had a very good meal that night booked by reception and after returning from meal reception staff mentioned that a packed breakfast would be ready and waiting on our departure, we hadn’t asked for this but next morning we picked up our packed breakfast as we left. Excellent start for our day ahead and felt staff member had gone above and beyond what was required, Thank you very much
