The room was good almost as what is shown on the picture.
The shower cubicle could have had the shower glass a bit secure to avoid at of water spilling onto the floor when showering.
To have some soft and comfortable pillows.
House keeping to be done a bit more thorough,replacing towels and toiletries, dusting the furniture and cleaning the bathroom mirror.
The food was good and the staff was lovely.

My room was cold and dark, radiators didn’t work so couldn’t make myself warmer, couldn’t switch the light off which was under the bed area and was annoying all night, not even a free bottle of water in the room.

Nice place to stay I liked the bed but my wife thought the mattress was too hard , a couple of observations the room was nice but we both kept bumping our legs on the bed frame , the wardrobe partially covered the only electric socket we could find ,the hair drier only blew cold air , in the bathroom the shower screen is too short for the tray and the floor gets wet , the washbasin is too high and the waterfall tap is hopeless if you try to wash your face in the basin all very nice finish , but not as comfortable and practical as it could be it wouldn’t stop me from coming back though

ive stayed here a few times and its always been really good, BUT on this occasion i was put in a ground floor room with a thin connecting door, and lets just say theres some things i didnt need to be hearing, and wasnt helped as they had their TV on until 4am
so not the best of stays or nights sleep
but staff and food as excellent as always

Wouldn’t return for stay

Room was freezing when we arrived - no radiators were on, heating hadn’t been on and had to call to ask for it to be put on. Went for dinner and came back and was the same. Called again were told it would be boosted and on all night. It was then too hot and had to open windows - didn’t seem to be happy medium. Also had to call as no hot water, was told to leave it running 5/10mins as can take a while to come through. Had to wait and wait for some hot water to eventually come through and it wasn’t a comfortable shower. There was either a freezing option or scalding hot. The room generally was quite worn and didn’t seem like it had been cleaned properly prior to us arriving. Was one of the most uncomfortable sleeps I’ve had in a hotel. Restaurant food for dinner was really nice and waitress was really helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was okay but service was awful, no butter with toast, had to ask for some and it seemed like an inconvenience - the girl didn’t seem like she wanted to be there and we were made to feel quite uncomfortable.

No heating and no hot water. Unable to get any sleep due to very cold temperature in the room, only 8 degrees after checking it. Cant wash myself either as no hot running water. Checked out after first night despite booking for longer. Unsafe and inhabitable conditions!!
You have been warned.

The heating in the room was not working and was very cold. Asked 3 times about it and got told the heating will come on shortly after 6pm. 7.30pm and still no heating. I was finally given a heater but obviously this could not be kept on all night as very noisy but it did heat the room up.
Cleaners start work at 6 from the sound of it and it sounded like the hoover in the reception was going just after 6, so don't expect a lay in.
TV reception was hit and miss so don't expect to watch ITV1 or a few other channels.
Room was tired and the bathroom had a smell as if the toilet was backing up, horrible drain smell.
It is a shame as I have used this hotel a number of times before but I will not be back.

Rooms are compact. Our room had a dangerous step up to bed. Toiletries are 'hand wash' in the shower which is apparently shower gel, shampoo and conditioer in one. Only 1 double socket in room which is where kettle is.

No upgrade hotel full, Would not stay again.

We were in room 17 first floor 1 night.The room was small dark and very badly designed with lots of health and safety issues.

The double bed was raised on a platform in front of a very small window which coverd three quarters of the window leaving the room very dark and dingy reyling on electric lighting which was also very poor. Not sure why the bed was on a platform as the floor was the same level throughout.

The throw that was on the bed was long touching the floor at either side of the bed which I removed as you could easily trip on it and fall off the platform. There is lights at the bottom of the bed on thr floor around the platform not easily seen during the day or night.

The space on either side of the bed to walk was so tight that you could only walk sideways if you were on the large side you would have to crawl over the bed to get in and out and use the shelfs suplied for clothes etc. (Thankfully my husband and I were slim)

There was also one socket in the room which was used for the kettle.

Pillows supplied were of poor quality and very hard (no choice in the rook of a soft pillow).I had a headache the following day.

The bathroom sink is large, the mirror behind the sink was not suitable for putting on make up and for a male person to shave as too far away. The lighting again did not help as very poor above the sink.

This room is realy only suitable as a single room the bed should be removed off the platform providing more natural light.

Lovely stay, but....

The hotel is very very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful and the evening meal I had was great. However my room had some 'niggles' which took the edge off a great visit.

Firstly, I had a superior room, but the desk was quite small and full of 'stuff' work working on, the bathroom was lovely but incredibly cramped. Very little space to dry yourself without banging yourself.

The bed was so hard it was a very restless night, I acknowledge beds are personal preference but this was very uncomfortable. Finally (the staff are aware) the beam of light at the foot of the bed, which cannot be turned off. I understand this is a safety light as there is a 3-4 inch step up to the bed area, therefore cannot be switched off. In the end I had to use towels and a coat to cover these up. Good stay, as I said but some niggles preventing me giving full marks

One night stay in Glasgow before flight home

The Torrance Hotel was a nice find for a one night stay in Glasgow before returning home the next day via the Glasgow Airport. Approx. 30 mins from the airport if no traffic. There is a gas station and restaurants/stores within a short distance from the hotel. However, I would recommend eating at the hotel's restaurant. All of the dinner food that we ordered was great. (Coconut Chicken, Fajita's, and Prawn appetizer. Ask about gluten free items. Was able to get gluten free bread with my prawn appetizer in place of the ciabatta bread, Parking area is available if driving a car.

Lovely hotel with brilliant staff.

We stayed at The Torrance for two nights for a family wedding. It was fabulous. The breakfast was delicious. On the Sunday morning it was Buffett, not the menu, so being a vegetarian, I asked if there were any veggie sausages. The gentleman in charge of the dining room returned with a plate of vege sausages, halloumi and grilled tomato’s. What service! In fact all staff we came across were so helpful and friendly. The bar was very cosy especially in the evening. I only wished we had time to try a meal in the restaurant. And the wedding went well too.

We were in room 4 which despite being on the small side was lovely and clean and had everything we needed, nice big shower .

We had a very comfortable stay at the Torrance. A few technical issues we noticed on check in....television had a loose cable so poor reception! And the cupboard door over the mini bar was almost hanging off. Reception came up and tried to sort both things. Thefood in the restaurant was excellent....but the only problem was with the carafes of coffee....each morning we had to ask for hot coffee...staff made us fresh hot coffee. The staff were lovely and very helpful. My husband and I will definitely return.

Unfortunate stay

We were visiting friends in Scotland and in particular East Kilbride, the location was excellent for Restaurants, bars etc. The hotel has been fully refurbished in recent years and looks good, with plenty of outside and inside areas to eat or drink. The Hotel was hosting a wedding on the Sunday when we arrived . Unfortunately just after midnight we were woken to people banging on our door, trying the handle and shouting and swearing demanding access. I called down to reception the person apologised and said they would deal with it , and they did. Unfortunately members of the wedding party disturbed our sleep until about 4am. The next night was peaceful. We asked for afternoon tea on the Monday , which is advertised through out the Hotel to be advised no as you need to book. The restaurant at that time had only 4 tables occupied, I can only presume they order in the afternoon tea. In the bedroom I found 2 hair pins on the carpet , and when I used my hairdryer I ended up with glitter all over me, which tells me the room had not been hovered or dusted from the previous occupant. The throw on the bed was dirty and full of unpleasant marks and the settee in the room was ripped in places. The breakfast staff were very nice and apologised again for the disturbance in the night and to be fair, they can’t control other peoples behaviour.

Absolutely beautiful hotel booked for coldplay as couldnt get anything closer but was more than happy with our choice,restaurant was lovely we ate at night and had a few drinks dominic was a lovely guy as was the girl on reception and the lovely man who i think was manager sorry didnt catch his name,only thing that let it down a bit was breakfast there wasnt much left at 9am and we asked several times for toast which we finally got after we had finished our breakfast,but other than that would recommend

Poor value for money. Of all the possible hotels in the location I could have chosen, this was the most expensive, although others had better leisure facilities.
Shower wasn't hot enough. Wardrobe set up did not allow sufficient length to hang up a coat. No Earl Grey tea. Room very dark and difficult to see. Long wait at reception and also for wine in the restaurant. Food was average, at best and not really hot enough.

Overnight stay as a guest at a wedding in the hotel. Room really nice. Service great. Breakfast was fantastic! The only thing that lets this hotel down is the rooms not being soundproofed. I had to bang on the wall to stop the guest next door snoring. You can also hear the other guests toilets flushing, showers running etc.

The torrance hotel is a lovely hotel and the food is delicious but... we were well overcharged for our room as we didnt get the room we had paid for and the bathroom had hair and stuff in the bath so the lady behind the desk was brilliant she gave us a free meal and complimentary bottle of prosecco because we were overcharged for our room so we thought great then we checked out the next day everythings good i go home check my bank only to find that the torrance hotel has took 3 seperate transactions which add up to £400 with no explanation as to why we have 3 transactions to that amount!!

Confusing attributes

There were several perplexing aspects to our room (1) the bed was raised by a single step from the rest of the room, and the step was lighted and could not be turned off; (2) there was a random green light in the room with no discernable purpose; (3) the bathtub controls could not be operated from the bathtub; (4) there were no electrical outlets near the bed and none in the bathroom; (5) the only way to cool a ground floor room was to open an unsecured window; (6) there was no way to charge a device while out of the room.

Other than these strange choices, the room was fine. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Don't count on the wifi or the key cards working..

The hotel is nice looking but there were numerous problems that we had to endure: The WiFi did not work the first night and no one seemed to know how to reset a router. After an hour of trying to connect, I had to resort to paying for my long distance phone calls. Our safe did not work either and they took a day to get it fixed. The key cards did not work nearly every time we tried to use them. The bedding (comforter) furnished was too heavy for the summer and they did not provide lighter blankets. We had to keep the windows open and didn't sleep well because the hotel is at a busy intersection and it was noisy in the morning. Our room did not have any electrical outlets by the bedside and our room door did not close properly on its own and so we had to be careful and check that the door was actually closed. I was disappointed that the assistant manager made excuses that did not make sense and would not accept responsibility for the issues.

Beautiful room very comfortable and clean which had everything you could think available. Coffee and tea facilities were great and nice touch with the chocolate biscuits. They had a well stocked mini bar and the prices for it seemed reasonable. The en-suite is one of the nicest I have seen in a hotel with a jacuzzi bath and twin sinks. The breakfast was lovely and all freshly cooked which is a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.
