Ideally situated for travel to local villages and Glasgow. Definitely a celebration venue, 70th birthday, funeral wake, 90th birthday and wedding over the weekend that we stayed. Only noise was from children running around after midnight, otherwise we weren’t disturbed. Bed was very very soft, felt like sleeping in a water bed. Apart from that, would recommend.

To make something right goes beyond words, not asked upon checking out how was my stay. I had to complain to head office and just sent back to the local hotel who does not really care about customer experience. House keeping banging on the door at 10:00AM!!, when checkout was at 11:00!! Offered no compensation for the very scary and rude experience. It seems they do not want future bookings!

Staff were friendly and the room was clean. However, I assume the put dogs and their owners in their most dated and tired looking rooms as they aren't bothered about damage to them, seems a little unfair given you pay a premium to bring a dog!

Overall, the room was nice enough for a short stay, but needs asome improvements such as better pillows to be comfortable for longer.

I booked at the last minute and when I arrived Keri greeted me with warmth and openness that started my stay off feeling comfortable and at ease. The room was fine. It was clean and cozy. I was in room 16 which felt a bit like I was in a corner closet do to it's location in an off shoot of the main hall. Once inside the room, it was decent space, tidy and acceptable. There wasn't any coffee in the room, which isn't a problem but did surprise me. The staff I dealt with made me feel at home.

Overall the property is ok, but it’s a bit dated I think. A bit old inside. Not very insulated between the rooms. You could hear almost everything above you or next to you. Sometimes can wake you up at night. The environment is really nice, food from the restaurant was amazing, services and staff were lovely, just the quality of the rooms are a bit let down.

The evening f on the evening we were there was very poor. The chef had no idea how to cook vegetables - we have NEVER been served such badly cooked vegetables. My husband's broccoli was completely tough and inedible, and mine was almost as bad. My husband returned it via the waiter to the chef/cook, but the response was only that \"yes it was hard. Would we like more vegetables?\" No apology whatsoever! - from the waiter or ( worse!) from the chef/cook. In addition, our starter of spring rolls was very seriously overcooked/over-fried, the 'pastry' being very hard and slightly scorched.

Ask for a modernised room.

Booked an Executive room and was shown to a dark and musty room looking out over the back of the property. There were red stains on the net curtains that looked like blood. I went back to reception and they moved me to another Executive room which had been modernised. It was much better. I don't know why they had not allocated that room in the first place as it was free that night.

Standard for Best Western. Rather old fashioned, lots of brown wood, but comfortable and good service.

Charming, welcoming hotel

Firstly, the staff were so friendly and helpful - a real credit to the hotel. Garfield House itself was clean and well maintained with spacious reception areas and large, comfortable ensuite bedrooms. The dining room and bar were located away from the rest of the hotel with both good food and drink offerings. The fact that the bar and dining room were tucked away from the other larger reception and function rooms was brilliant as we were able to dine in peace whilst a number of events were taking place in the main areas of the hotel over the weekend. This wasn't a problem at all as it was nice to see people having a wonderful time celebrating at this charming hotel. The soundproofing in the two bedrooms we booked (on different floors) was surprisingly good as we weren't disturbed by any late night revellers or early morning departures. The carpark was spacious and had both steps and a ramp to reception, and the location of the hotel was very convenient for a stay near to the north eastern outskirts of Glasgow, whilst still being within easy reach of the motorway network. I look forward to another stay in the near future.

Considering this was a few mins from Glasgow town centre this was really good value! The food was great and, again, not silly prices.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I also had a couple of cheeky Tunnocks Camarel wafers waiting for me when I attuned. What’s not to like!

The staff are friendly and the food is good, especially the huge breakfast. Nice little bar area too with a beer garden. The 'executive' rooms definitely need a refrigerator and perhaps an iron and ironing board but they are comfortable.

Very nice and helpful staff. Unfortunately this hotel has very thin walls and very squeaky floorboards. Ear plugs are required to sleep. You could hear everything in the adjacent rooms. Food was way overpriced for what you got. Ended up driving out on my final night. Had a mixed grill with no egg !!

Great staff and food shame about other elements.

Great staff very friendly. Lovely breakfast, taste and presentation. Public areas very nice. Room was ok but the bed was not comfortable, it only had one bedside table and it was not possible to close the bathroom door unless you are inside,(no external door handle). There was also no reliable WiFi either in the room or public areas which made it impossible to work online. These elements are a détraction from how good this place could be.

Old world charm

My stay was very comfortable. The room was clean and well kept, very old world but still all the mod cons. I would have preferred a step in shower rather than in the bath tub (i believe it's safer) but the overall stay was lovely as were the staff :) I would stay here again !

No usb’s for charging, one electrical socket didn’t work and I don’t think the room was hoovered very well (found gold bits from a broken necklace scattered about the room). The reception staff wasn’t overly friendly. It’s too bad as the outside looked warm and welcoming. The breakfast and staff in dining room were fantastic!!

We booked this hotel 15 minutes before actually checked in, as it was a last minute trip. Check in was very straight forward, room was very clean and tidy, and staff was absolutely lovely. The property was very nice, lovely hotel very good food. The grouting in bathroom floor tiles needs redone as coming out when sticks to wet feet from coming out of shower, not very nice on bare feet! We were given a room above the function room as a wedding was going on, needless to say our room was vibrating with the music until midnight. Wouldn’t book at weekend again as this could be a regular problem and we booked it as we wanted a quiet place to rest before a physical day. We were not part of wedding party.
