The staff were incredibly friendly and the property has a wide range of amenities. The rooms need better sound proofing - I'm not sure if there was a conference on near our unit but there was constant noise/people talking loudly to each other throughout the evening and early hours of the morning.

They have carpets, it’s smelly and I found someone’s press on nail on the carpet and bugs and dust balls everywhere in the room. I would highly recommend against staying at this hotel. I was double charged for the room upon check in and had to provide credit card details three times to process my refund. One of those times someone from reception came to the room to ask for my card information and wrote it down. I will be keeping an eye out for suspicious charges. We paid extra for late checkout and the cleaning staff tried entering our room four times as we slept. We finally had to prop our suitcase under the door handle. The rooms were dated and did not feel clean. Room service took almost an hour and our food was ice cold upon arrival. We finally broke down and ordered McDonalds from Uber Eats to the hotel which was a significant improvement… which is not saying much. There was screaming outside our room at 2:00 am and barely slept all night. Staff were not very friendly. Overall, we did not feel safe and would never stay there again

I got the lady to call him so I could personally thank him. He is truly a good trustworthy staff member to have around. I even told the front desk the same. He should get employee of the month.

The Birchwood is a huge congress & holiday premise with dozens of small villas. Close to the airport and some major shopping malls. Several bars and restaurants in the property. All well mantained and in good shape.

Check-in is a mess at this hotel. They completely lost some of my reservations and cancelled the second day of another because the person arrived late on the first day. It took hours on multiple calls with Hotels.com to get everyone checked in, as well as a refund for the woman who had to pay for the room she had prepaid for through Hotels.com.

I like what has been picked above, however, I find the environment is so remote because the facilities in the room are very basic compared to the amount of money, for instance when I came in there was no TV remote control but when I called for support, the TV itself was not in use, They repaired it but unfortunately the TV channels do not have substantive material to watch such as news. While there are some renovations of the facility from the last after my last visit but the service is not up to standard in my view to the extent that rooms lack basic things like shower cap and other small items to make life easier for guests

Went out and when we returned to our room around 1am, the room was infested with ants.
We did notice a few ants when we checked in but we did not take notice as it’s not something unusual. But the it was just way too much when we returned.
Even outside the room on the walls there were a lot of ants.
We removed everyth out of the room n packed it into the car.
This was the worst ever stay I have had in my life.
Really it was unpleasant.
Was told that Birchwood is really a place to visit n stay but after my experience I have to rethink about recommending it to my friends.
I hope they can find some way to repay us for our bad experience.

Guests in the rooms near me qere drinking in their rooms from the afternoon. By 8pm they were blind drunk. Yelling and screaming. Three times they tried to break into my room. I was affraid to ask them to calm down myself, so I called reception for help, no one came. How security didnt hear all the noise is very strange. Eventually I pushed the chair and bed against the door incase they forced the door open. The chaos stopped at around 4.30am.

Terrible place!!! The only good thing is that we had someone driving us on a golf cart in the rain. Arrived at 9pm ate dinner and went to the room at 10pm. (We had to wake up at 4am for a flight). First room was not cleaned from the previous people and had a bloody tampon on the floor. We were then moved & multiple rooms were having a party but uncontrollably as doors were being banged and shouting and screaming. We were told security can not stop it and only thing we can do is move again in the rain late at night. The final room was quite and clean so we finally got to bed even though the aircon is 100yrs old and makes a noise. We managed 4hrs of sleep. Security at the gate told us this happens all the time and they well aware of the parties and they move people all the time as they wont mess with their high end paying clients so all other guests must suffer. I will never go here again and I will never recommend this place but i will shame it in any possible way or form

The check in was pathetic. No-one knew what they were doing. Directions to our room were confusing. The rooms didn't have towels in them. The BC Cafe was terribly noisy. The staff in the BC Cafe were slow and we had to look for them. Very limited bar stock available. Overall not a very pleasant stay at all
