The room was clean, a little smaller than expected. There was consistent noise coming through drom the window (fan / generator like sound ) this kept us awake for 2 nights but we got offered another better room which was much better . Thank you for that. Breakfast waa the highlight of the stay. Lots of options and very tasty too. Lovely clean pool and apace to unwind outside. Overall splendid experience!

Rooms are tired yet spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but evidently not enough of them.
Breakfast was good but half the dining room was closed off so guests were crowded into an unnecessarily small area, staff?. Airport shuttle excellent - every 15 minutes!
No room service despite there being a number for in-room dining, staff?. Reception takes far too long to answer the phone so once in the room “you’re on your own”, again perhaps indicative of undermanning.
Although the premises is very clean and inviting, the area around the hotel is most definitely not. 300 metres from a Gautrain station but no way to walk there.
The building speaks to an issue - in my opinion that has beset many of the “old” hotels around O.R Tambo, they are tired and very outdated. It’s a shame that for many people on their first trip to Africa - certainly South Africa, that this is the first African hospitality they are exposed to. Not the best impression!

We didn't have any info for room service. Reception provided us with menus and said to call a number... Phone wasn't set up ... Ordered at restaurant and had to chase an hour later.

Pizzas were delicious though! We had the chicken and Debbie's delight - yum.

In balance, would def stay again.

Sadly not a great hotel. Booked a superior king room and it was far from superior. Arrived at the hotel and advised by receptionist that they had moved our room to a much larger room. Didn’t look any different from what we booked to be honest. Carpet was worn, decor overall was dated, bathroom very dated- struggle to even figure out the shower the next morning. Originally also booked for our return trip back to Johannesburg but since cancelled and booked into another hotel.
Best part about this place was Rosie O’Grady bar, the hotel staff and the transfer staff.

Garden Court offers a great breakfast.

We have stayed at the Garden Court before and the overall stay was the great. The breakfast is excellent.
However, when we arrived at the hotel, they had no record of our booking. They eventually found it on Expedia.com and had to create a new booking for us.
It took over an hour to get our accommodations sorted out.

A stay near airport

The room is old and in need of maintenance. The outdoor swimming pool had a lot of bugs in it. Also they were painting the hallway so my room got a very strong paint odor.
Breakfast was great with many choices of selection. The free shuttle to the airport was also a plus.

The carpets are dirty the room is dark and dismal. The shower was blocked and in spite of reporting it was not sorted out. The room did not smell good at all. The reception and dining reception staff unfriendly.

I chose to stay in Garden Court because of its location near the airport. Checking in was smooth except having to pay a tax which I didn’t expect. I had booked a standard room. This 2nd floor room’s air conditioner did not cool at all. We complained, the serviceman came and noticed the problem and we were moved to a similar room on the 3rd floor. The hallway of 3rd floor reeked of cigarette smoke. Thankfully the room didn’t. However, the carpets in both rooms were disgustingly dirty. The drain in sink was clogged. The flush of toilet kept running. The bath towels were thin and tiny. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the rooms.
On the positive side, the breakfast buffet was good as was the free shuttle service to the airport. There was not much difference in price between this 3* hotel and nearby 4* ones. Will not be staying here again.

If only I knew I’d have chosen another

The hotel may look good in lobby but not the rooms. Carpet in the room was very old and looked filthy. Walls would need patchwork in places. Towels had holes and there was only 1 hand towel and no wash cloths. The staff do not seem pleasant whether on the floors or in breakfast area.

Average Hotel near the airport.

Good for airport for one night. Given smoking room. Would have been nice to have been asked at check in. As i am non smoker.
I could have asked to be moved. But at 1am could.not be bothered. Room a little old but comfy beds. Breakfast is good which ia part of room rate.
Free return trip bus..

Good hotel. However had to ask for amenities like extra towels, lotion for our family of 4. Property is decent and close to airport. Just got a bit stressed out gettong back to the airport as the shuttle took over 30min. But good stay nevertheless

Its a good property. Good value for the money. Shuttle service from airport is excellent and very convenient. The rooms are decent (could use some upgrades - especially bathroom) and relatively decent size. Dining options on-site are not great but provide some convenience - especially at night. The breakfast buffet is quite good.

Overall, its a good and convenient option for short term stays.

A decent option near OR Tambo

This is a decent option near OR Tambo Airport. The rooms are a bit small and dated, and the WiFi was unreliable. There also isn’t much in the way of views from the rooms. But the staff is great, the breakfast is solid, and the airport shuttle is quick, free, and reliable.
