We enjoyed the flexibility of this quaint little guest house in that they came to pick us up quickly at the airport even though our arrival was unannounced. I had read reviews prior to booking and was very misled! This property is in need of a lot of work. I couldn’t wait to leave. Landlord specials everywhere from the patched up bathroom floors to ceilings. No where to even hand the one towel I got. Dispensers were poorly stocked. First room they gave me, air con didn’t work so they moved me to one that worked. Too much to mention but writing this review so other folks don’t actually believe the reviews that say it’s modern. It’s not. I didn’t see any other customer there so maybe I was the only sucker.

Our Journey To South Africa
It was a long flight from California to Johannesburg, South Africa over 20 hours in the air. When our plane had landed, a staff from Vista ORT was present holding up a sign with my name Yukiko on it. He had a big wide smile and said welcome I will be driving you back to the hotel. Late in the evening we arrived about 7:00pm. After checking in at the front desk he then carried our luggage to our room where we slept, and breakfast would be served in the morning at 7:00 am. The bed had futon blankets and was very warm. In the morning, we were blessed to have birds singing. Everyone was warm and friendly; I felt just like being at home. The breakfast was served with hot, food that they brought to us, my milk was warm which I really much enjoyed. Everywhere was safe and the shuttle driver would take us and bring us back. Suggestions were made of our surroundings, and a guide would always be with us sharing education and knowledge. The days were inviting with sunshine and when we were not at Vista ORT we were sightseeing and enjoying our vacation in Johannesburg, South Africa.

It is a decent and modern place, the only thing they need to improve is the service for breakfast or havae a buffet option. The front desk also needs to advise of the complimentary airport shuttle that needs a booking 24 hours prior, we were never informed

The crew was busy with a large event but still tried to make me feel as welcome as possible. They went out of their way to make me some dinner and delicious wine. Cleanliness a big concern
Simply put was not impressed. Walls are quite thin and voices/noise travels quite easily throughout the halls as one can hear conversations or doors opening and closing etc. Biggest complaint would be the cleanliness which was non-existent; the carpets had stains, the curtains had stains, the ceiling in the bathroom looked like it had undergone serious water damage as one can see paint chipping away so might have been a leak from the room above hard to say; the toilet had not been cleaned. TV channel quality was not great, the air-conditioning was not working barely felt it to be frank and there was no way of adjusting its settings i.e. to increase/decrease fan speed or temperature so it seems to be controlled centrally. Overall the cleanliness made it a very disappointing stay as one just could not be comfortable. On a positive note staff were very friendly though so if they could look into the cleanliness factor and readiness of the rooms prior to the arrival of visiotrs then it would go a long way to improve the stay of visitors.

We had stayed there multiple times, but this time really failed on expectations. When we got there, they put us in a room at the end of a hall. But there was no WiFi. Then they moved us to a room that did not have a key and there was a drain above it that went all night long. Then, for some reason, the WiFi quite working. Apparently it had been unplugged in the room where the router was located. Yes, in one of the guests rooms. There was only one towel in the room and no soap or shampoo. We were very disappointed, and some may blame Covid-19, but not been able to satisfy security issues like no key is wrong. I tried to call the manager multiple times, but no response. We will not stay there again.

The shower was powerful but the cubicle had all mould,the toilet had a wooden seat that went out of fashion years ago.

The staff is friendly and helpful. It was my first time but the experience was amazing. The gentleman at reception went out of his way to ensure i had a great stay. I loved the complimentary shuttle to the airport.

We stayed over at the Outlook Lodge on our way to Hong Kong for my wife’s birthday celebration. We were picked up by a friendly gentleman. This was our second visit to the Lodge. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and it was like home away from home. For dinner we had a delicious meal. The next morning is was my wife’s birthday and was surprised with a lovely gift and a card signed by all the staff. Breakfast was a delicious buffet style. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean. Francois thank you so much for a lovely stay. Thank you to all the friendly staff. Keep it up. It is a lovely place to relax before or after an International flight. The shuttle dropped us off at the airport on time for out onward flight. We will recommend this Lodge to all our friends and family.

Their first International Group of Guests booked for two weeks and consisted of 24 guests for bed and breakfast. This gave them only 3 months to convert 2 more units with 6 extra bedrooms and 2 more bedrooms in the main residence to be able to host all of their guests.
The complete Guest House project was managed by the owners from start to finish. The interior decorating, hand made headboards, bed side tables, paintings etc.
