I arrived at 4:30pm and had filled out the check in form in advance, check in was at 3pm and at 4:30pm I was told room was not ready and they didn't know when it will be ready which was really annoying. I asked them to accomodate late checkout in that case and they rejected to accomodate a full late checkout at 4pm amd said i could checkout at 2pm. They said I was going to get free drinks (the VIP access mentioned also free drink per person per stay) but did not get jt. I also confirmed that I did not need valet parking as the street was full of parking spots. I got my room, the room was nice spacious and clean and checked out the next day. Afterwards I received a folio via email and I was charged for valet parking. I had to call them and tell them I was charged and they looked into it then reversed the charge. It is a great location, room was spacious but for the price paid horrible service. I had to run after them to get certain things done and I had to request late checkout when they failed to check me in on time.

The room was spacious and comfortable, very walkable to the Golden Triangle and restaurants. Easy to take car shares to other spots in West Hollywood.

Staff was excellent and friendly, with Maribel and Jeremy as standouts! Friendly, helpful and kind! Thank you for making my stay at the Avalon a great one!

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and exceeds expectations for the area. Valet parking is a pain as the valets are often not available and you will wait for your car to be picked up or dropped off. They are good folks but probably overworked. The check out staff we encountered clearly had a chip on the shoulder and was either incapable of or disinclined to assist a customer. Shame, as the hotel is in a fairly good location although not quite within walking distance of anything that LA has to offer.

Great location, front desk staff was very kind. Shower did not work well (shower head kept falling) and the drain barely worked. The room is in need of a good cleaning as there was dirt and stains on many of the walls, specifically around the AC. I was charged for valet when I never parked at the hotel and was told the “amenity fee” was for items like the soap/shampoo and “free waters” in the room, which seems very odd. Again, great location and staff, but business practices are a little concerning.

I stay at Avalon all the time. The staff is very helpful and recognized repeat or loyal customers which is nice. They put me in the Canon Building which is not optimal. The room is basically the same. However, no elevator in Canon Building.

The property was just \"ok\". It's obviously a much older hotel, renovated to be younger and chic, but in my opinion they needed to go an extra mile. The rooms are tired, carpet is old, fixtures are meh - walls are painted over and bubbled in a lot of places. The location is good, quiet, and out of the hustle and bustle of BH, but still walkable to amenities. Staff were very lovely. Next time I'd stay somewhere I knew was fresh, clean and more comfortable.

Decent hotel, great location, parking is way overp

The hotel has a convenient location and decent rooms, but it feels overpriced, especially during the off-season. You don’t get a lot for your money. On top of that, parking is ridiculously expensive at $58, plus tips, and that's after already paying a $40 resort fee. It adds up quickly, making the overall cost feel unreasonable.

That said, the staff was friendly, which made the stay more pleasant. However, for the price, I’d expect more value and fewer extra charges.

Excellent staff. Room was in older building across an alley; no hot water second morning so we were shepherded to a room in the office/pool . At first there were apologies with no further‘ compensation’. Water was fixed later in the day. At checkout the hotel had given us a reduction on our bill. Given other options I would not stay in the older part again.

I really liked this place, it was chill, the hotel staff was great, but a waiter at the restaurant wasn’t friendly and snapped at me, then I got seated in his area and he wouldn’t come to the table. It was pretty passove aggressive. After about 15min, another waiter approached me.

When booking it’s difficult to know rooms are not around the pool. Maybe label it so it’s clear which rooms will be part of the other building.

Calling reservations is useless. This is the third time I’ve had this experience calling this hotel. I leave a message an and didnt get a call back either. I booked anyway via Expedia because i love the cabanas and pool area.

Extra fees charged are too much. $58 parking fee is ridiculous considering they park the car onsite at the hotel.
The $28 fee was explained to be for the \"free coffee\" and the pool. Seems like a cash grab.

The hotel is absolutely charming and feels like a boutique hotel. The service was spectacular and it’s just a lovely little place to stay. My friend and I each got our own rooms but we both had only one complaint the shower is outrageously slippery. They have a smooth marble on the floor of the shower and that should not be. At a minimum they should offer a rubber mat or put some of those no stick aftermarket things so that you wouldn’t slip in the shower But other than that it was wonderful.

We had a lovely stay at Avalon with our medium large rescue dog. The suite was super clean and chic. The walk in shower was amazing. The bed was super comfortable. We had a small balcony overlooking the pool. The food at the hotel is really good and I’m picky.

Nice. Except I found it weird that when you go to a hotel they can’t even provide premium channels. They have them but you have to log in with your own account to access them. I really don’t want to sit there and log in to their cable remember my password for Disney. It’s weird. Come on at least provide some good channels.

Upon arrival the desk clerk offered me a smaller less accommodating room than what I actually booked. I advised him this is NOT the room i booked for my stay. The clerk quickly found a room that was on par with my booking.
Also appears the hotel may be down grating it's in room complementary items such as Water bottles which are now paper BOXED Waters not the Glass Bottles from years past.

Retro vibe Hotel located in a residential area of Beverly Hills!! Safe, walkable area! I had a room in the main building which I’ve read is recommended. A comfortable room with a very comfy bed and wonderful TV (loved watching my fave Charlie’s Angels on that TV) cute bathroom, nice clean floor throughout. A small private balcony with a chair was really nice to have and it overlooks the adorable pool where Marilyn used to take photos 💟 room service was fast and tasted good. Free coffee to go in the morning in the restaurant, free bottled waters also a nice touch. Music played out by the pool to about ten or so. Not a problem for me as I’m up late. A very quiet sleep was had. I recommend getting a room with balcony overlooking the pool. Friendly Staff and quite private, felt like an apt. An easy walk up Beverly to shops and restaurants! A quick Uber to Century City Mall.

Sweet, funky, charming hotel with history

This little hotel is adorable. It's definitely a throwback, with real vintage furniture and fixtures, including marvelous seafoam blue-green carpet and marble countertops. The room we were in was huge and had a nice big window that let in good light. The Aesop soaps in the bathroom were nice. The pool area is really sweet -- it felt very well designed, welcoming, and fun for hanging out. The design of the pool and lobby are funky and unique -- I like that the whole place had character.

It is definitely a bit on the pricier side thanks to extra fees, but you're staying in Beverly Hills, so honestly, we can't be too surprised. Parking \"at\" the hotel is only valet, and it's $53! Luckily there is quite a bit of street parking nearby if you're willing to walk a block or two. As long as you read and follow the rules closely, you can even find overnight spots that are free. The hotel also had an amenity fee of $28, which they explained was for \"water and coffee\" in the room. Last time I checked, 2 Aquafinas and 4 Nespresso pods aren't $28, but okayyyyy.

I'd stay here again because of the great location and charming design, plus I love a spacious room and comfy beds. Also, the staff were all nice and friendly.

Small hotel divided into three buildings, one across the street ( where we stayed). Older facility. Bedroom was nothing special. Shower was very good but water would spill all over the bathroom floor. Bathroom had no fan to clear out steam or bad odour. Not up to standard expected from a nice hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not many amenities in hotel. Not much of an atmosphere. Valet parking fees were ridiculous. Bed was comfortable. All in all not sure I would recommend.

My husband and I stayed here because it was close to cedars Sinai. My only complaint is for 300.00 a night even the in room coffee is an extra charge. We even used our own bottled water to make the coffee. Lower star hotels offer $10in room coffee at no extra charge. They also have streaming channels but you have to log in to your account. Just crazy for what you pay a night.

Overall good. Liked the gym, restaurant good with very good service. Room decent but soundproofing especially for interior of hotel was lacking and combined with weekend noise around pool which was sometimes quite loud it diminished enjoyment.

The Avalon Hotel is a delightful boutique hotel option for Beverly Hills. The hotel is oriented around its poolside restaurant/cafe, Viviane, which has a very charming Mid-Century Modern vibe. The room furnishings are classy and comfortable, the staff is extremely charming and helpful, and the price is very reasonable for the area. Would recommend!
