Hot Water Wanted

I had an entire day without hot water. It was quite a terrible shower. Since it was Sunday, there was no engineer to address this. By Monday morning, it was somehow back in operation.

The Best Boutique Hotel in Los Angeles

Hotel 850 SVT is easily the most incredible boutique hotel I’ve ever stayed in—and the only place I’ll stay whenever I’m in LA. From pre-arrival communication to thoughtful touches like accepting a delivery and placing it in my room before check-in, every detail was seamless and stress-free.

What stood out most was the staff’s willingness to help without hesitation. I left an exotic rental car overnight and mentioned the company would be by to collect it the next morning. They assured me it would be safely parked and waiting out front at the exact time—handled with the same effortless professionalism as everything else during my stay. Simply put, this hotel sets the standard for boutique hospitality.

This is such a unique place. All the furnishings are one of a kind- not like chain hotels. Every little nuance of your stay is made so nice- from the welcome note to the marvelous continental breakfast with a fancy coffeemaker. We especially want to commend the front desk clerk, Winston who made us feel so welcome after a too long day traveling.

This place is charming and sweet, and in a great place in WeHo for food and walking around. The staff was kind but not super helpful. We were there the weekend of the marathon and weren't warned ahead of time that the street in front of the hotel was going to be closed the entire day on the day of our checkout. We ended up having to uber to an airport hotel and pay for a 2nd hotel for the night to avoid missing our flight the next day. Left a bad taste in our mouths - they should have offered to comp us the second night. We had a family member in a second room that decided not to check out early because she didn't have a flight the next day, and she was trapped at the hotel until after 2pm the day of the marathon as the valet folks forgot to move her car out of the closed zone (they had promised to do so). Also, there are neighbors with very loud barking dogs that leave their pets out day and night, making it hard to sleep.

Great Small Hotel

Very nice inn in West Hollywood. Really enjoyed our stay and the low key, personal feel of the place. Spent an afternoon out with the complementary bikes which was fun.
No pool or other amenities of note on site. The add on resort fee is a bit of a stretch given this, but we knew what we were getting into when we booked, so fair enough.

Clean and well kept cozy small boutique hotel. Loved our room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Hollywood Hills. Friendly staff. Valet fee is pricy but the service was super quick. Breakfast is continental and simple with good pastries. Wish they could provide at lease boiled eggs for protein, though. Overall a great comfortable hotel.

Another great stay at svb50, a few things have changed such as there’s no honour bar which was a real shame but didn’t affect our stay. Room was comfortable and the room amenities were excellent.
Would stay again as it’s in the heart for Beverly Hills and Hollywood.

The hotel is so cozy and the rooms are not too small. The personnel were super nice and loved the breakfast room. Also the automatic espresso machine!! The only flaw I would say is the room lighting is very dark and not able to adjust it higher than a certain point

We drove into town for a concert at The Whisky. We decided to find a place due to the weather and arriving early. I came across this cute Bed & Breakfast and decided to splurge on a room for my husband birthday. We were pleasantly surprised by the property. It gives all the good feels. The staff adds to the unique atmosphere. Love the toiletries and mini bar! Fireplace was perfect for the rainy weather. I also loved the turn down service while we were out for the evening. It's the little touches that separates cute bed & breakfasts from boutique hotels. We will return anytime in West Hollywood ❤️

While the decor, robes, slippers, Nespresso machine, free snacks and a variety of continental breakfast options were a plus, the front desk needs to have a more positive attitude and be friendlier. The hotel would definitely benefit from having a pool. The worst part was the construction next door, so I’d avoid this hotel until that’s complete.

I really enjoyed my 2-night stay at 850 SVB. The staff was extremely kind and gracious. My room was quiet, comfortable, and well-appointed. The mattress, sheets, and toiletries were perfect. I thought the outdoor area (pictured) was a nice touch. I ordered room service twice -- food was terrific but a bit on the pricey side. The hotel is in a walkable area. I will most definitely stay at 850 again.

Really like the design of the place, beautifully decorated, with nice views from the roof and breakfast on the balcony/porch. Breakfast is included but limited, complimentary drinks on the roof from 5 til 7. Not far from a hospital and Santa Monica blvd with the distant sounds of emergency vehicles and nightlife if you leave the windows open a little bit at night, may disturb light sleepers.

A small and quiet property that goes beyond expectations. The property is located less than a block from a very busy section of WEST HOLLYWOOD. Easy access to many of the restaurants and bars of Weho without driving.
This property is small but makes up for size with the quality of service and the charming room’s. The moment I arrived, the manager,Virginia, was very welcoming. Virginia, looked at my reservation and stated your here with us for a week. I was immediately upgraded to a large room with a balcony. The room was perfectly clean and charming in decoration. The house keeping staff were consistently on the go looking to offer assistance. The continental breakfast was small but very good. A great auto coffee/cappuccino machine was flawless. Fresh squeezed juices with very large croissants were the highlights. Overall, the location, quality of the rooms, and staff make this my new favorite place for visiting LA.

The combination of Alejo at check-in, and then Carlos and Winston at the front desk, is truly top-notch. My family and friends will be back. This is a gorgeous boutique bed and breakfast atmosphere. Complimentary croissants, gourmet coffee and all day doom snacks are provided. Valet parking for $45, service is timely and room service is provided at fair pricing without surges.
You only waive $100 for incidentals PER night. Expect to be treated well here, turn down service for housekeeping and N’espresso in room coffee with a complete mini bar and complimentary in room snacks are ALL provided.
This is the best boutique hotel in all of Los Angeles. Ground floor king rooms have private patios. Expect rates ranging from $322-$344.
Well worth it, less than 1 block walking distance to Tom Tom, Sur and Bottega Louie gourmet restaurants.

A beautiful boutique hotel that exceeded our expectations. The room was thoughtfully designed, quiet and relaxing. We loved the fireplace and the small balcony in our grand room. The rooftop had a great view of the hills and we enjoyed the complimentary drinks during the sunset.
The downside was the staff- they were cold and unwelcoming. The reception barely greeted us upon arrival and gave us no information about the hotel or area.

The continental breakfast was very delicious. Unfortunately, some of the ammenties (honour bar) were not available during my stay. One of my favorite hotels in the country. You won't be surrounded by tourists and partiers. Service is impeccable, and it should be a Conde Naste' Best of LA. it's a hidden gem, for the right person/couple on business or holiday. 5/5 stars. We used to only stay at L'ermitage. This property is truly a luxury property- the service is top notch, the room amenities and minibar options are amazing. It is not often anymore that the amenities are complete with all of the essentials including a shave kit, sewing kit, makeup remover, shower cap and even a loofa. Slippers and robes and turndown service where they lowered my Roman blind, placed the slippers by the bed and turned down the covers. Only thing missing there was a little chocolate…but in the common area there is a wonderful assortment of goodies from dried apricots and pretzels to peanut M&Ms and Cashews you won’t go hungry here.

The continental breakfast is stunning and simple. Delicious croissant (chocolate too), fresh blueberry muffins and other yummies accompanied by a super fancy self serve cappuccino/ latte machine.

The thought of everything, even bikes to use (though the key is currently lost).

Highly recommend this little gem.
