Arriving, I struggled to get my luggage up the steep stairs & was surprised that the guy at the top, who was standing there watching me, didn't offer to help. He opened the door & that was the extent of it. I was told my room would be ready in less than an hour so when an hour came & went I checked in again at the front desk and the young man immediately said it wasn't ready yet. I then decided to sit in the lobby instead of out by the pool, and within a minute, the room magically became ready. Overall the rooms are nice and huge and Laura was great at resolving an issue with an employee looking into my window. It would have been nice to have someone mention the ipad turned off all the lights, I fumbled around way too long looking for switches that didn't exisit. I was surprised at how many kids were playing in the pool morning noon & night considering it felt like a more adult/boutique vibe hotel. I didn't feel like I could swim and relax. The breakfast cost is very high, and the eggs in my omelet were overcooked. It came with a side of bacon, but instead, the chef put it in my omelet, and it was chewy. The sweet paprika overwhelmed the side of potatoes so overall I ate about 3 bites and left the rest. $68 later after a $12 cup of coffee & tip I came away vowing never to eat there again.
Upon departure, I again wrestled my luggage downstairs by the pool as an employee who had a vacuum in the walkway didn't offer to help. Overall, I'd say the service was poor for the price.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was truly impressed by the staff — everyone was attentive, kind, and went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. Their service and attitude were definitely the highlight of my experience.
However, I was disappointed with the room maintenance. The toilet was not functioning properly, and the phone in the room didn’t work, which made it difficult to contact the front desk. These issues took away from what could have been a perfect stay.
Overall, the staff made a great impression, but the hotel needs to improve its maintenance and ensure that all facilities are in proper working order. With a few fixes, this place could easily become an excellent choice

Oceana was the perfect hotel to spend on the last leg of my trip in LA. We relaxed by the pool and walked along the beach. It's quiet and the rooms are very spacious. The design is very pleasing to the eye. Everyone was friendly and professional - special thanks to Hakeem, Leonard, and Daniel. We will be back.

While indeed the property was beautiful however there are no handicapped accessibility’s. I phoned the property several times to be sure it could accommodate our 23 year old daughter I. Wheelchair. Her only way in and out of hotel was elevator thru basement parking garage in basement and the incline was so steep she couldn’t even propel herself. Also upon checking while all pre booked and quoted the final price we were charged an additional $2300.00. We stayed a week. I do realize the property was being remodeled however had they told me we would have looked elsewhere. And there was the morning at 11:00 and we were trapped on 3rd floors more than 3 hours with no way to get our daughter down as they were repairing the one elevator. Oh but during the elevator repair wait they did send food for us at no charge but we were trapped and if a fire had came we were trapped so for this reason alone putting our daughters life at risk for a week without any handicap ramps or entryways absolutely horrid and should be illegal. my rating is not good! Not handicap friendly and they don’t say the truth upon booking as I called them several times before I booked. The room also was absolutely not soundproof the first two morning we were waken next to our room construction at 7:00 am.for over ten thousand dollars this was definitely not what we were looking for. It took us 2 days to drive for this disappointment and they even charged vallet for such substandard handicap parking

The Hospitality including the hotel staffs are wonderful especially the bell captain. His professionally services made our stay memorable and happy. The room was spacious and comfortable but there was no bath tub and shower pressure was not enough. Also no refilled for bottled waters and slippers in the room everyday during our three days stay. But I love this hotel so much. This is a one of a kind!

It was very loud at the hotel. The walls seem paper thin. Because the rooms are centered around the pool and the restaurant, it is very noisy in the rooms, even at 7am. It would also help to have blackout shades in the room. It was hard to get a good night's sleep there.

Great Design Hotel in Santa Monica
Fantastic rooms, interior design is beautiful and so spacious saying in a Lanai suite. Location across from Santa Monica beach made it a nice stopover from LAX for 24 hours to freshen up before flying back to Australia. Only thing I would suggest is they include breakfast and some mini bar items until he rate as the room rate is high and those touches would add to the experience.

Our experience at the hotel was great! Mini romantic getaway. The staff was awesome! Kind and genuine. Everything was almost perfect, except for:
1. Not receiving the room I had reserved. After the valet guy helped us move in our belongings, he noticed there was no iPad for controlling of the lights (not a big issue). But after following up for us, they then offered us another room that had an iPad and happened to be exactly the room we had been anticipating. I was about to talk to the front desk when this opportunity came up, so, it worked out on it's own.
2. One of the chairs by the \"mini library\" was dirty; crumbs in the crevices. And the rug was pretty stained by the main table in the living room.
3. We found two spiders in our stay. One which bit my partner. I mean, insects are insects, but it was a surprise to find two. One we could ignore, but two, we were like, \"alrighttt what's going on here\"
4. We asked for ice at night around 1030-11pm. I first asked if there was an ice machine. They said no, but that they could send some ice up from the restaurant. Time passed and no ice ever showed up. We can surpass that but there was no other way to cool down some water or drinks considering their mini fridges are only for their resaled beverages.
Overall, it was a nice getaway.

Great hotel with large suites. Only drawback is poor descriptions of suite types. We would have liked a room with a view, but were at the back of the hotel and the small balcony was facing the apartment building behind. Its a converted apartment building with room access from an open courtyard with central pool. As all rooms are slightly different, they don't all have desks, so I ended up working on laptop balanced on a pile of books because no rooms with desks available. Annoying for a business trip. Operated by Hilton, which I didn't notice mentioned on hotels dot com site. The two queen bed rooms are apparently very small compared to all others.

This hotel is not worth the price! It was very disappointing. My room was spacious and clean but had a strange setup with a tv fixed to a wall facing the beds— which is fine but the bed frame obstructs the view of the TV. Pool service didn’t really exist . It took forever to get a drink or menu . The restaurant is empty but the service was awful— I kept getting comped for meals / drinks because of service but i would have rather paid for an enjoyable meal/service. Food- ok. $32 for a glass of white wine from a screw top bottle. The staff likes to mention a terrace bar that opens at 6pm. There is no bar or service but a small area with some seats-
no staff ever showed up at the “terrace bar” after waiting for 20 mins -
So we left. The front desk didn’t have much knowledge on tours and offered me a pamphlet on a wine tour that was awful. For my final bill, i was charged for meals I never ate. This is our second time staying at Oceana. We have loved staying here both times. This is probably the best hotel to stay at when one is in Santa Monica. They have amazing service, spacious and clean suites, an onsite restaurant and bar that is very good, and a rooftop bar that has beautiful views of the ocean and where we enjoyed sunsets with good cocktails.

Stylish boutique hotel where the staff was so friendly and efficient. Every request was met with a smile. Onsite restaurant was a bit limited but there are many options in the area. Our suite was lovely and so very unique with modern decor, an extraordinary mini bar, and even a mini library of hardcover books. The only mar on our experience was the TV in the living area did not work and they were unable to fix it during our entire stay meaning we had to watch our Patriots beat Buffalo on Monday Night football from our bedroom. They comped our parking and resort fee for the issue, but we would have far preferred to have the TV working. We would return or recommend with no hesitation.

I think pictures are misleading and paid for ocean view but could not see ocean unless you hung out side window. This is also an Expedia problem as Expedia not describing ocean view vs. ocean front. Twice i paid for Ocean front and hotel did not honor.

Small boutique hotel with a family feel. Everyone knows your name and your needs. All the staff was extremely cordial and helpful with plenty of tips about activities and food in the area. There was an attention to detail I have never seen. The suites are LARGE. Housekeeping came in daily and never missed a spot. The room was cleaned with care. Even the little details of how they folded towels to where the placed them. The location is perfect. I walked everywhere. Close to shops, the pier, the beach, and restaurants. Only thing missing was an ice machine…I’m an ice eater. However I called down and someone brought a bucket of ice right up. I have told everyone about my stay and can’t wait to go back!

I was in AWE (jaw dropping). The view along with the room was so relaxing and very welcoming. The swing outside my room as well as the pool and seating areas were perfect! I really enjoyed the location. We were steps away from the beach. The Santa Monica Pier was a 10 minute walk. The hotel had bikes for guests to use. Scooters were also available for a fee with Lyft. The weather was lovely. We enjoyed walking. The hotel was beautiful and very well kept. My room faced the ocean and I had a balcony. The pool was small and intimate. The room decor was nice as well. Excellent customer service. I was surprised with champagne for my birthday. A word of caution, this hotel does charge a deposit for each night of your stay. There was a hold on my card for $500 per night. The total for the hold was $1500.00.The deposit was lifted upon checkout, but that was not shared with me when I booked the hotel.

I really liked my stay here. I didn't take advantage of all the amenities so I can't really judge them fairly but i can say the room was very clean and met my normal picky standard for rooms. Great location!! And my favorite part was the kind and pleasant vibe of the people. As far as service, they really get it. Everyone from the front desk, to the valet attendants... their whole staff just gets it. I'll be back again.

By far the best hotel , the best service , the most friendly staff, the most cleanest hotel and the most elegant hotel i have even experienced during my 25 years of traveling . From the time we walked in nothing but smiley faces . from the from the valet Mr lenny super nice and super friendly to front desk jessica super sweet lady to the manager Mr young an awesome guy . goes out of his way to help always smiling and always helpful . i cant say one thing negative about this place . Yikes. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the location is great. Staff had been friendly. Why the harsh one star? Because I'm here now and after discussing ad nauseam about what I was looking for: not by an elevator. the more spacious of the suite rooms offered. (even asked if i should UPGRADE and pay more to guarantee the best room possible---and was told it wasn't necessary.) I asked a million questions and ultimately was given a room on the 2nd fl that was comparable to the 3rd floor room I originally was going to book. (but didn't book in time before it was assigned to another guest.) Fine. My fault. Same room different floor. Well, it's right next to the elevator. Which I could have dealt with but my back view is an ugly apt building and Im sitting up right now at 1:30AM bc the the GROUP of ppl DURING COVID in the room next to me are blaring music non-stop. It's unreal. I came here to be away from my little kids. I needed to write/work. I explained this REPEATEDLY and they assured me it would be no problem. I've complained 2x now with ZERO RECTIFYING of the situation. it literally sounds like a group of high school seniors are next door! out of all the rooms seem to be occupied by families w little kids that are already asleep I manage to be put up NEXT DOOR to the rowdy, music bumping and blaring parties during COVID!? I'm livid. I rarely get away from my kids and husband let alone to work and this is what I paid for $800 1 night not counting all of the fees etc.

What an amazing find with an absolutely gorgeous view and the most accommodating staff I have come across in a while. Hana, Michael and team were so welcoming, and while our stay was only for a night, it was one of our favorite stays because of how well appointed and cozy our room was and how at-home we felt in it. Bonus#1 was the free bicycles that the hotel provided for us to ride at our leisure. I don't think my wife or I had been on bikes for years. Bonus#2 for those whpo grew up watching classic comedy greats. Stan Laurel had a particular affinity for this very hotel when it was an apartment complex.
