The location was great. The staff is very good and very helpful. The room needs upgrading; it's dated, and the amenities are bare minimum. However, the location on the doorstep of the National Park and the staff make up for the room & overall amenities.

Our group had a 3 night stay in the monkey room. We loved the private outdoor seating area, the large room with a fridge (cold drinks!), and comfortable beds. The staff was so lovely and super helpful. Two of us were not feeling well for some of the time, and they were so accommodating with when we needed our room cleaned, helping us order fresh fruit plates to the room, and checking in on us when we went in and out.

The hotel is right next to the entrance to Manuel Antonio, and they have a connection with parking close by at a reasonable price.

Overall, it was a great place to stay and we highly recommend it!

Great hotel right next to Manuel Antonio national park. Clean room but mattress was very shaky. One turn and you could fall. But staff was great.
Also Expedia mentions limited parking for hotel but they had no parking whatsoever and we had to pay 10$ USD each day for parking.

Luckily we arrived on a Tues when the park is closed so were able to unload before parking - this'd be impossible other days. Parking is down an alley across the rd for US $11 day. Although a little dated, our apt was spacious with good aircon & shower. No electric jug was a bit strange in a full kitchen. We had workmen hammering/ drilling & walking around the roof outside our window but stopped after working hrs. When booking online it said \"breakfast 7-9:30am, if you need it earlier or later tell us the day before so we can take your pre-order and have it ready on time\" so I emailed a couple of times to tell them we had booked our park entrance for 7am the day after arrival, but no reply. When we checked in we reminded them again but they said breakfast is at 7am and can't be any earlier. The next morning we came to have breakfast at about 6.55am and they told us they could only give us cold fruit at 7, not anything cooked. The property is in the best spot for access to the national park, so we sat having breakfast at 7am while watching people lining up in front of us to access the park (you're not allowed to take food into the park so it's important to have a good breakfast first). We were literally looking at our shower window from inside the park, and people lined up for the park outside our bedroom window, so was perfect for our needs (2 nights just to visit the park). Also loved the iguana outside our door and the monkeys came to visit. Pool was great too

The location was amazing. It is literally right outside the park entrance. The staff did everything possible to make our 2 day visit perfect. Ronny helped us find a good last-minute Mangrove Tour and that was both interesting and beautiful. Pili was always available to answer questions. By the end of the 1st day, we felt like family. By the end of the 2nd day, we didn't want to leave! The pool was refreshing and the breakfast (included in our price) was delicious. The rooms were large and comfortable. Definitely check out this hidden gem.

The check-in staff was disingenuous about parking. He first said there was a public parking option but then, after leading us to the location, said it wasn’t available and that we had to pay. He should have been straightforward about it. I know the Expedia notes say you must pay for parking, and he should not mislead people by saying there is a public parking lot when there isn’t. It came across as really slimy/scammy.

The room also has numerous small ants. It’s the tropics, but finding an ant on the bed comforter isn’t a great impression.

I throughly enjoyed my stay at La Posada. It backs up to the national forest and so there was a lot of wildlife around the property. The beach was about 2 blocks away through an easy cut through. Lots of restaurants close. The staff was wonderful and friendly. A cooked breakfast was free.

This hotel is great primarily because of two things: location and staff. It is right beside the gate to the national park, like 50 feet. Second, the staff is super friendly. Ronny is a star. He was helpful and friendly and went out of his way to show our son animals around the property.

Property is right next to the Manuel Antonio park. Breakfast is alright - you have 3 to 4 options and you select the option you want. Room was good, internet good. The prime advantage is the location next to the national park. You have breakfast in the morning and can head to the park/beach. There is a backlane that you can walk straight to the beach - 5 minutes walk. There is a very good restaurant right opposite the hotel and it is very good. There is a mini market next door as well. Overall I recommend this place.

Ronny, who works the desk, was tireless in always doing his best to make our stay what we wanted it to be. He worked as a great concierge making sure we would be booked for any activity that we wanted at any time we wanted. The property was nice and very convenient to the park and beach. But it was the personal touches by the staff that makes this a superb choice.

Our main interest was the NP Manuel Antonio and seeing wildlife. La Posada is right at the entrance of the park. It has wildlife that visits the property too. Our room was nice and cool. Staff was very helpful. We would stay again. Adjoining is Rocco's seving very tasty pizza.

Beautiful property immediately adjacent to the national park. We were visited by several animals right outside the room which was magical. Delicious breakfast included. Parking in the area is tight but the front desk gentleman was very helpful in finding us a spot and we didn’t need to use the car at all while at the hotel as everything we wanted (park, beach, restaurants) was easily walkable.

The location of La Posada Jungle hotel is unbeatable! We stayed here with our 3 yr old daughter and loved being able to walk to the beach, many restaurants and shops, and of course the park. The line into the park can be very long at times, so it was nice to be able to play with my daughter at the pool while my husband waited in line. Then when he got close to the entrance he'd text me and we'd go out to meet him. Much better than a 3 yr old waiting in a line for almost an hour. We stayed in a deluxe suite which was great for our 6 night stay. It had a fridge so we could save leftovers from dinner and reheat them in the microwave in the dining area to eat them for lunch the next day. It had a small table and chairs right outside the doors which was nice for coffee sits in the morning to watch animals. The included breakfast was great, different options and plenty of food. We saw many animals at the hotel, much closer than in the park. Overall we really enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again. Rony was always super helpful and friendly. Carlos Montero runs the private shuttle service and was also incredibly kind and accommodating. We are so thankful we decided to go with the private shuttle from SJO to the hotel because our flight ended up being 3 hrs delayed and Carlos waited there for us the whole time. Once we arrived he greeted us with a big smile and did not seem annoyed at all for our delay. We were also able to coordinate a stop to KSTR on our way back to SJO.

A nice, small hotel literally a few steps from the Park entrance. A great location for the area. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was great. Good starting point for our Costa Rica trip.
The monkeys on the roof in the morning were free-of-charge.
Is this the Ritz? No, but it is clean and comfortable.
If you're a posh traveler, then perhaps this won't be your spot, but if you're a regular person, don't hesitate to stay here.

This hotel is very nice hotel with beautiful natural garden. Only 50 meters from the entrance of the Antonio national park. Allen helped us found a parking spot when we arrived. The room was clean and quiet. They provided very nice and yummy breakfast. The hotel is next to the woods, so there are a lots of white face moneys and howler moneys and other animals active in the garden of the hotel. The stuff Allen, Ronnie and Damien are all very friendly, warm hearted and helpful. They showed us a lots of animals from their garden.

This was an amazing hotel, our group had no complaints. The service and staff was amazing, the rooms were nice and cool and clean, the food was delicious, the location was ideal, and the atmosphere was wonderful. It was so cool to be right in the jungle. We saw so many animals right outside our hotel including monkeys, iguanas, lizards, raccoons, and more. This was such a wonderful experience and I will for sure be coming back here.

This is a cute little place that is literally at the park entrance. We were there for 3 days and never mover our car! We had a good breakfast and then set out to the park or the beach. There is a back alley short cut to the beach that we walked 5x a day. The store is next door for snacks and ice cream. We ate at most of the restaurants in close range to the hotel but the beach was the best. So glad we didn’t book a hotel on the top of the hill. The pool is older but warm with lots of singing birds and a few monkeys and lizards. Staff was amazing, kind and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay, very clean, staff were so helpful and accommodating to anything we needed. Quiet place even though it's a busy area. The shower had great water pressure and the pool was clean. Monkeys and a huge iguana named Alfred was out to visit daily. The bed was comfortable and sheets were soft and clean.

We were so happy with Hotel La Posada and Jungle. We were surprised to find it right next to the gates of Manuel Antonio. The location was great with just enough around to make things convenient, but not so much that it was bustling (aside from daytime park crowds of course).

All the staff were wonderful and friendly, with a special mention of Rony, who was simply the best. My kids both loved him. My 12 year old son Oliver said \"I've never even thought about having a favourite hotel worker until I met Rony.\"

We had a great time and recommend it highly.

We liked this hotel but it is a \"get what you pay for\" type of situation. The location is great - right next to the park and close to all the action. They really didn't have a place for us to park other than in a busy alley. We had a rental car so it wasn't of big concern to us but if you had a nice car it would be very worrisome. Our car did get backed into while it was parked and it left a pretty big dent but the guy at Posada was VERY helpful getting us in touch with our rental car company and all. The hotel is in a neat location -lots of howler monkey noises in the evening and morning which we really thought was neat! It is just sort of an older hotel - very clean but the furniture is old and things are very dated. Not for people that like a fancy, modern room but great location for easy going travelers. There was a family staying there with 5 kids and they were having the time of their lives!

This property was in an excellent location, a minute walk away from the entrance to Manuel Antonio NP and within 5 minutes of multiple restaurants. About 7 minutes away was the beach and more restaurants. Our room was clean with plenty of space. The property is also right next to an area with lots of wildlife including white faced monkeys, and one can see various types of colorful birds and the occasional small iguana on the property. Staff were helpful and breakfasts were delicious.

Steps away from the best park we visited in CR

We ended our Costa Rica adventure at Hotel La Posada and Jungle. My famly of 4 (11,13,44,45) stayed here in early April of 2023.

This was a perfect way for us to end our 10 day tour of Costa Rica. We stayed in the Ara Macao house and it was awesome! My girls and wife loved it. Super spacious and comfortable. It had a full kitchen and large sitting area along with 2 bedrooms. The air conditioning was strong and the fans spread around the house kept the space cool and comfortable.

The property has a small pool that was perfect for our two girls. My wife and I would sit and cool off in the evening while visiting with other guests. Breakfast was included and a perfect way to start the day. You choose from 4 options. We tried them all and they were good.

The best part about this hotel is the location. It is literally steps away from the entrance to Manuel Antonio park. It is very convenient. The beach is only a short walk away through some nice vendors and we even came across a family of monkeys on our way to the beach.

Parking can be a little tricky. Just follow your \"WAZE\" directions and you will end up at a dead end. From there, communicate with one of the great hosts. Rony and Aaron Perez were very helpful. They helped find a parking spot close. They also offered to help with park tickets and dinner recommendations.

Lots of shops within walking distance. A grocery store right next door. It is really a great location.

Make sure to say hi to Mario the resident iguana.

We enjoyed our short stay at this hotel. The monkeys run on the roof at night and I can be loud but the staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s a very short walk to a beautiful beach. The water was so warm with nice waves to body surf. Parking is not the best, down a rock road, but it’s doable. You are literally on the edge of Manuel Antonio park, right before the entrance. Great location.

We stayed here for two nights. We have five young kids, and this hotel was wonderful.

Nice boutique hotel next to the entrance of the national park. Wonderful breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff. Only eight rooms in the hotel, so it is easy to meet and interact with other guests. Our kids LOVED the monkeys that come to visit!

The rooms are good size, with a nice bathroom. Short walk to an amazing beach.

I just got back from my first trip to Costa Rica and had a WONDERFUL week staying at La Posada. Perfect room (large, clean, personal hammock!), perfect location (steps from Manuel Antonio gate, lots of shops and restaurants within steps), perfect property (I saw almost as many animals on the property as in the park) and perfect staff-- Damien, Romy and team were SO welcoming and wonderful. Convenient Location, but otherwise overpriced

We stayed here (family of 4) for three nights.

The location is really convenient, right outside the gate of Manuel Antonio National Park, and 3 minutes walk from the public beach and a bunch of restaurants.

The staff was super helpful and friendly.

Included breakfast was quite decent.

The rooms (and overall property) was clean, but basic and small in size, felt cramped.

Overall, nothing wrong with this hotel, we had a good stay. But this is squarely a 2-star property, so go with that expectation. And for that, it was overpriced. Maybe it was the high tourist season. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if the price was half. For what they charged, I'd look for a different hotel, there are plenty in that area.

The hotel is right next to the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park, so it was quite convenient, especially with two small kids. It was an easy day to the beach and we appreciated not having to get a car or taxi back to a hotel that was farther away.

The hotel itself is just ok and we were a little disappointed based on what we paid for it. The room was fine but there was visible mold in a few spots, and in general the outside areas weren’t super nice (although the kids did appreciate the pool). Breakfast was just OK compared to other places.

Staff was very helpful and in particular with Costa Rican friendliness.

Would I come back? I’d probably try something different. The proximity to the park was nice but I think I would have opted for a nicer place and just gotten a ride to the park.

The staff at La Posada and Jungle made us feel at home and like family. Whatever needs we had were fulfilled as well as excellent recommendations for dining and site seeing. We will definitely stay here again!

This place is very well located. It is very close to the entrance to the park but within easy walking distance of a lovely beach and the fun center of Manuel Antonio. It is also reasonably priced and not a high rise resort. It has local charm but is also very comfortable. It is my very favorite place to stay in Manuel Antonio. It is our second time here.

This property is right next to the entrance of the Manuel Antonio National Park which made it convenient and easy to enter; however, because our room was right next this busy street, it was very noisy first thing in the morning (6 a.m.) and throughout the day until the park closed. We stayed in the villa that can accommodate 5 people for two nights. The place is dated and did not feel/look clean. It had a full kitchen allowing us to eat in for a couple of meals. Our last night there, we had someone brake into our place entering through a side window. When we talked to the owner of the hotel afterwards, he did not believe us when we told him he must have come through the window and even questioned our story of what happened. He said it was not possible and yet when we chased the person out of our room and down the stairs, he escaped with our money and electronic items through an opened window. Our door was still locked when we checked to see if that was how he entered. Upon checking further and wondering what happened, we noticed that someone had been in our room earlier in the day. They had brought new towels, made a bed, and emptied trash downstairs but not upstairs. When we questioned the front desk, they said that they don't do cleaning service. I don't trust this place and was unhappy with how they handled a very upsetting situation. It was an awful and scary way to end a wonderful stay in beautiful Costa Rica.

It's our 3rd time in Costa Rica and every time we've visited Manuel Antonio...and we like to stay here. However, this time, the overall feel of the hotel has changed. It used to be more family, and vibrant; There is much less of that because there is no staff working at the hotel. The staff work as tour guides and are more busy with that than the hotel part. The parking has always been tight because the hotel is right by the gate of the park, but since owners have added a ticket & guide booth on the parking spots, it is now a crazy nightmare to park. The room was okay but could be improved too. We were missing a sheet on one of the beds, and upon noticing in the evening, there was no staff to help us out. The next morning, there was no breakfast and we later learned that the cook did not show up (in the mean time, the ticket/guide staff was stressed out by the questions I was asking). The next 2 days of our stay, we did get the missing sheet, and had breakfast, which was expensive for the small plate of food. Back to the room, we were in Casa 10 \"The Monkey\" and it had no natural light coming in, having no idea what the weather was like. The beds and pillows were good and comfortable. There was a fridge and closet. he bathroom was a pity, with a shower door that did not close, or open. The sink fixture was poor too. A few towels were new, but others were old.
We donated our purchased bodyboards to the hotel, for next visitors to enjoy. Still recommend this place!

We would stay here again. Easy access to Manuel Antonio and beach. Once we got to hotel and parked, we didn't need to use the rental car until we left. The small street that the hotel is on is busy with medium size tour vans and other vehicles so be patient. The internet use was mainly for booking other trips and checking emails. Not sure If wifi is good for videos or heavy usage. The staff was great and the people are great. Had a great time. Pura Vida!

The location is great, next to Manuel Antonio National Park and beaches. The rooms were horrible, the picture of the pool is a misrepresentation. It's hardly a pool. The rooms are dated, and the room which was provided right outside the pool, with lot of guest noise. No amenities in the room, like lotion or a basic phone to reach front desk. Anything you wanted, you had to step to the front desk. The shower curtain/rod was broken, no bathroom latch. The front desk agent was busy in selling you other services on which they were typically offered great commission. Parasailing was offered at $95 pp, but if you stepped to the beach, you could get it for $60pp. we were routed to breakfast at a joint in which they were getting commissions too. Overall a place which could easily be avoided.

Close to Park!

Right outside of the national park - very ideal for a quick trip where the park is the main feature. Check-in was a little confusing because it’s also the ticketing booth, but the personnel were so kind and able to clarify their set-up. Room had all the essentials, but could use some updated furnishings. Overall, the hotel landscape inside was beautiful and very on theme!

Loved the location of the hotel. Next to the National Park and close to the beach. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. This made up for the fact that it is an older hotel and could use some renovation. Our room was nice and large and upstairs with a balcony area. We would stay here again.

So glad we found this little gem. The room was clean, had hot water and WiFi. It is in the perfect location. It is right across the street from the entrance to the National Park and a short walk to the beach. Everything you need is in walking distance. It has a pool that is kept very clean. What truly makes this place special is the staff. Damian, Ronnie and Charli were excellent hosts. I would definitely recommend this small, family run establishment.

The people attending us were very friendly and location is the best you can get next to the National park gates. But unfortunately that is the only good about La Posada. It was not what we expected. We did not get the room (Villa) we had booked. Instead we were kindly offered two other rooms, one of which had a \"fully equipped\" kitchen. Unfortunately not well equipped at all, with lots of veryyyy old utensils, apart from lacking. Just overall the place was not clean and felt run down. I am sure with some effort this could be a great place, but at the moment it is not a place I can recommend.

This place is in a great location, just steps from the entrance to Manual Antonio Park and many restaurants, shops, and the beach all in walking distance. The grounds are tucked behind a little Tour Office which keep it quiet from the noise in the main street. They were so accommodating when I had 3 changes in my reservation! No hassle and no extra fees for any of the changes! All of the staff are super friendly, especially Ronny. He has many hats in the hotel, very welcoming and the nicest guy ever! His goal is to make the customers happy and comfortable. I highly recommend to stay here!

Rooms are good, comfortable beds, great service especially from Rony who connected us with great last minute-arranged activities, gave us personalized service and took our pictures, recommended best restaurants. Location was most important about this hotel, 3 min to the beach and next door to Manuel Antonio park, no need to repark our car.
