Experiencia completamente decepcionante y muy lejos de lo que prometen. Pagamos una cantidad alta por nuestra estadía y lo que encontramos fue un hotel viejo, deteriorado y claramente mal mantenido. La habitación tenía un olor a humedad horrible, no había wifi, el teléfono para supuesto room service no funcionaba, y las puertas de los balcones estaba dañada. El baño de la habitación lleno de remaches y reparaciones mal hechas, necesita renovación urgente.

Los elevadores casi nunca funcionan, de varios solo hay uno, lo cual es absurdo para un hotel de este tamaño. Tampoco hay toallas para la piscina o la playa, algo básico en un hotel. El muelle que tiene hotel está todo roto y deteriorado.

El desayuno incluido fue otra gran decepción: comida de mala calidad y muy poca variedad. Nada acorde con el precio que cobran.

Intentamos comunicarnos para recibir atención y la respuesta fue mínima o inexistente. Honestamente, la relación precio–calidad es inaceptable.

Esperamos que el hotel o la plataforma de reserva se hagan responsables y revisen esta situación, porque nadie debería pagar por una experiencia tan mala.

Da mucha lástima que lugares construidos por Narcotraficantes el gobierno se llena de dinero atreves de ellos y no puedan mantenerlos.

The hotel is in very poor condition and badly maintained. There was a strong odor throughout the property, and the floors of the room and bathroom were filthy, peeling paint. My room was dirty, with damaged walls that were literally about to fall off, and the bathroom was not properly cleaned. I had to leave and book another hotel because the conditions were unacceptable. The staff were polite and helpful, but unfortunately, their kindness couldn’t make up for the hotel’s poor and unsafe state. I would not recommend staying here until major repairs and deep cleaning are completed.

I liked the fact that it is located in an area that there's immediate access to the besch and pool. What I disliked is that the furniture in the rooms need to be upgraded, they were not up to standard. The safe deposit box was rusty and did not close, so I was unable to make used of it. The telephone was not working, and the water from taking a shower ran out to the bathroom floor. They do not have/carry washcloths (had to purchased my own). The lobby is beautiful and the entire staff are cordial and very helpful!

I stayed at Sunrise Hotel for just one night and left immediately due to the terrible conditions. The hotel is old and poorly maintained, and the pictures on Expedia are highly misleading. There is no jacuzzi as advertised in the photos. The room was old with terrible humidity, and the bathroom water didn’t work initially. Later, the entire room started smelling like a sewer in the morning, with no clear source of the smell. The balcony door was so rusty and old that it couldn’t even be opened.

The air conditioning is not adjustable in the room—you have to call the front desk to make it less cold. The TV didn’t work either. The worst part was the check-in process. Despite claiming check-in is at 3 PM, the reality is they provide the room anytime between 3 PM and 5:30 PM without prior notice. If they give you the room at 5:30 PM, shouldn’t you pay less? Check-out, however, is strictly at 12 PM. It’s unacceptable that they take no responsibility for this delay while expecting guests to adhere strictly to check-out times.

I stayed here back in 2015 and thought it might have improved, but it remains exactly the same. Beware of the pictures—they do not reflect reality. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.

This shabby wannabe resort hotel is kept in horrible condition. Cracks in the floor concrete, cracks in the walls, a gym that looks like a dark prison gym with machines from 30+ years
Do not book with this run down hotel staffed by uneducated homoph*** who are unable to do their job to welcome and protect their guests.

You can’t expect too much because you’re on the island but for the value, it’s a great price. The air conditioner could not get the room cold enough and it was hot. The whole time the view is beautiful and the staff was great. It’s just an old Hotel my tile was broken in the shower and Online it shows bathtub. They don’t have bathtubs if you’re on a budget. It’s a great place to stay.

La infraestructura del hotel está en pésimas condiciones, lobby deteriorado, habitaciones con mobiliario viejo y maltratado, baño en malas condiciones, ducha que tira agua para el techo, los pasillos sucios y solo sirve el elevador de servicio. La piscina y el bar son lo único agradable, aunque también están viejos u necesitan remodelación. El wifi no llega a mi habitación del segundo piso, la calidad del desayuno bastante baja y el servicio nunca llegó a la mesa ninguno de los 3 días para ofrecer al menos agua. El check in a las 3 es una falta de respeto ya que comienzan a llamar a la gente como un Bingo y puedes estar hasta mas de 2 horas esperando tu habitación, no importa si llegaste antes de las 3:00.

Any positive review for this hotel is a pure lie

Just bad in almost every way

-Construction signs and workers everywhere
-Leaky roof (they put buckets on the floor in the library. How nice!)
-No Wi-Fi in rooms
-Mediocre or bad food depending on restaurant
-Almost no staff speak English
-Guest elevator broken. Guests have to use staff elevator.
-No working air conditioner in one of the rooms we booked. Employees also refused to change room until the next day, and not until 3pm (how is this ok?)
-No water pressure and very little hot water in the other room.
-Everything is old and run down.

I would not be surprised if this hotel pays for the good reviews it gets.

It is a ripoff. Go somewhere else.

One of the things I was hoping for was Wi-Fi in the room which I read there was so much rather disappointed to find out there was no Wi-Fi in the room there was construction being done and it looks like it was in the process of being renovated as well going to my room there was a very bad smell in the hallway had no idea what the hell it was maybe it was because it’s an old hotel and there’s probably mildew or mold , although I did not see any , we had breakfast included which was OK , a couple of restaurants here in there , did have a very nice pool , and they did have this very small beach area which was kind of cool and there was a small area that you can swim in that was nice , The showers have hot water which I love sometimes these places don’t give you hot water , I think if you were to ask me if I would stay at this place again I would probably say no

The pictures on the site were probably taken in the first year it was open. There was so much damage and current construction going on we weren't sure if the hotel was going to collapse. As soon as you walked in the door all you could smell was a musty odor. These people obviously do not believe in any type of renovation or care about current conditions of their hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE IT'S DISGUSTING. by the way this is my first review on a hotel, if that tells you how bad it is.

The weather was wonderful. The issues I have with the property is that it is very unkept almost dingy. The food was not bad and the service was fair. I really dislike how the cashier and desk staff does not help. The phone in the room does not work. The property is way over priced for what they offer. The pictures in the ad are very deceptive.

The property has huge potential but it’s definitely run down.
The elevators in service were the service elevators so you had to go though the back of the hotel to access the floor.
Rooms were horrible and with mold everywhere. The sheets were disgusting.
I would not recommend this place and I would not stay here if it was free.
I feel bad for the staff because they depend on the hotel to make a living, but GHL has done nothing to keep up this property.

Terrible experience. Pictures totally different from The reality. The pool was dirty and apparently they are dealing with maintenance issues with it. The hotel is very old and the GHL administration does not invest on it. During our stay, both elevators went off, leaving us for 4 days in which all the access was on foot (6 floors).

This place is the worst i have been ever !! It was my birthday so my girlfriend and I thought we do something nice.
I travel 50 countries and for a hotel that I payed for two of us 1300 dollars it was like a 2 star hotel . every thing was broken or under construction and very poor maintnace .
From day one when I walk in the lobby was tape off with construction tape and par of the roof was falling down . At the front desk it took 35 minutes to get to the Agent to check us in .. then they said the room will be ready soon . it was 2 pm . We waited for 3 hours and no room availabel. I told them to cancel my reservation and they give me a room . other people were in the same situation as we .
When we got to our room . the A/C was not working , the toylet sit cover would not stay up when using the toylet . The sliding door to the balcony would not stay close, therefor the room was always hot. . I Call maintnance they said they would fix it.. the next day I went to the front desk and ask the same thing . they only fix one thing and the rest they never fixed all week . we had not a/c the all week . other items that were broker I did not even mention.

The restrooms at the lobby smell so bad that is soon as you get it , you want it to do your business and get out. the tiles were broken , the water closet would not flash .

The food on the buffet had no flavor at all.
The windows on the outside of the elevator were replace with constuction wood sheets , to much to say. DON'T

Hotel is located in a great spot on the island, close to everything you might need. Breakfast is sufficient to keep you till dinner. Spectacular views and sunrises. Swimming pool excellent. Private beach is convenient and small, but plenty of beaches around. Staff friendly. There is some renovations that are needed, but nothing that would impede with your stay. Spent five nights there.

We stayed in this hotel Monday 20th- Friday 24th 2020)

The hotel was really not good. We arrived around 3:30pm and check in was from 3pm. We was in a line for check in around 55minutes which was not good at all after a long trip. We was shown to a good size room, however it was damp and smelt like such. I was then horrified to find a full de humidifier in the room. There was also a stained mattress propped up by the door. There was a bed side draw with things left from the previous occupants which proves the room has not been cleaned properly. We asked to move rooms on three occasions and was told no further rooms were available. None of the windows opened so the smell of damp was unbearable Each time you enter the room. The toilet seat would not stay up so we had to rest it on our leg/back if we used the toilet. The safe also broke and a lot off the furniture was broke/stained. The staff was not helpful at all. The shower was not effective as hot/cold water seemed not to be adjusted.

I cannot complain about the beach/ pool area that was nice but the room was really not good. Won’t be coming back

Our stay was wonderful, the staff were very accommodating and we were very happy with what we received for the price. We really enjoyed the location, the pools, view from our balcony room, great outdoor dj all day long, breakfast and dinner buffets were delicious; better then the food we found in the streets and local restaurants, we also took their signature pontoon tour and had a fantastic trip! The building is older and needs updating and some cleaning in areas but overall we had a great time and plan to return with friends and family in the future.

*spacious rooms
* super friendly staff, with special thanks to Hector and Sandra at the Buffet. Both were very nice, along with all the waiting staff. By the 5th day one staff member responded, when I offered to give our room number, that she did not need it because we were \"family\".
* The maid did an excellent job of cleaning: washing the tiled floor every day
*very nice pool by the beach
* dive facility next door, whose boat picks you up at the hotel's private dock
* convenient location
* cute little private beach, convenient for swimming in calm water
* large balcony with beautiful ocean view
Cons
* general state of disrepair: broken tiles in bathroom, leaking ceiling in the closets which got all our clothes wet on the first day ( we had to remove everything from the closet and put a towel on the floor. It never got repaired our entire stay)
*AC is too cold in the rooms, and you cannot regulate it, but if you ask, a maintenance person comes and closes half the vents, which solved it for us.
* in the lobby, elevators etc... the surfaces look disgusting, full of smudges and fingerprints that never get cleaned, including the glass doors of the main entrance.
* The buffet food is average at best, although it will feed you. Desserts are particularly bad ( REALLY bad). But it is cheap.
*The Internet is very slow, when working at all. It is available only in the lobby, and it is OK to catch the occasional email, but do not expect to load a web page.

This hotel is located in a very nice area of the island. The bad thing about this hotel is that rooms are not ready in time and after being out all day touring around, room was nit cleaned till 6:30pm. Had to call 3 times and one final time to go down to reception area.

Nice Little Island

This was a nice little island to stay at. The hotel was located in the heart of the locale area. No need for rental cars and taxis, unless you want to venture out further. I ended up going with a girlfriend from Medellin. The local shopping was a few blocks away. I pharmacy that had sundries and liquor was literally across the street. As for the front end staff; they were warm and welcoming. We were able to check our bags in at the lobby,and let them we were there before the 3pm check in. As for our departure; we had a late afternoon flight. The staff allowed us to keep our bags in the lobby(12pm check out), while we went parasailing. After we came back, we were able to shower up at the gym. Our room was a city view room, 604 to be exact. Clean and comfortable. 2 double beds.

Value for money! Doesn't excell but great service.

First impression was bad but good service the next day help correct it. Hotel rooms had strong humidity smell and bugs on the lower floors also air condition was stuck on cold and phone / wifi didn't work so we ask to change after one night of bad experience and they give us higher floor which was better only ants which i kill with help of the hotel however non of the rooms we try had functional wifi and its crucial because the cellular data connection in San Andreas is generally very slow. They try to keep their promises but everything is so-so for example it's mentioned they have hot water and Jacuzzi but Jacuzzi had cold water and showers have hot water on schedule but i hear that's better than most others hotels which doesn't have hot water. Food is good, standard wide selection as for cleaning i give 7 but its primarily for the smell of rotten furniture after all the being said their service is great the staff are friendly and do the most to help you enjoy the hotel's facilities. Lastly, the best about it is the location which is rather peaceful considering how close it's to the main beach about 7min walk and 1min to a pharmacy or 24/7 convenient store. P.s they also have a convenient store within the hotel exspensvier but very convenient. I saw much worse hotels only few are potentially better but cost more.

Excellent location right on the water, pool was great, breakfast was great good variety of food to choose from, kiddie pool in next building, staff were wonderful friendly and courteous, only comment the property needs some maintenance nothing big just regular upkeep in rooms (hot water valve in shower was broken and 1 electric outlet was not working).
Very happy with hotel overall, great family vacation.

It’s one of the my worst experience hotel in my life . If you wanna have relax and good vacation , choose other hotels .
I’m not recommending this hotel . All was bad !

Good experience. Room was comfortable. Would be nice if showers had full doors. And would be a good idea to use the two meal passes at any time during the day and not make arrangements a day before which meal you want to take. Decent service staff. Good location. Average food.

Best hotel in San Andres

It was our 30th anniversary and the staff made sure we had a wonderful stay. We had an early flight out and they were incredibly accommodating with breakfast for us. Breakfast was excellent and the view couldn’t be beat. The pool was beautiful.

Mold on the walls. Linens smelled horrible. Roaches in the bathroom. Hotel food was disgusting and took over an hour each time for the food to come out.

Dirty, old, room smelled like a sewer!!

This hotel was horrible. The gym is in the middle of the building and aerobics clases start at 6am with pretty loud music so there’s no sleeping in while on vacation if you’re staying there. The room smelled like a sewer so we called the front desk. The person that came over said it was “normal.” The smell was disgusting and overwhelming. You won’t get WiFi in your room. You’ll only get it if you stand outside your room or in the lobby. You need to take your room towels if you decide to go to the pool so you have no fresh towels for when you’re back in the room. The floors are always wet, some issue with the AC, so if you have small children there’s a risk for them falling all the time. Lunch was ok if you like overcooked pork, chicken or steak. Go somewhere else.

Hotel nightmare

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in, ruined our holiday.
We arrived sat just before midnight and left the following day costing us extra money to book flights back to Bogotá and extra hotel costs.
Dirty hotel I’m surprised this hotel is open
Absolutely awful damp smell throughout the hotel which affected my breathing and triggered my skin condition (psoriasis)
The room itself was absolutely disgusting
Mould on lampshades. Condensation n Mould on windows. Couldn’t face even looking at the bath it was the awful and dirty throughout.
This whole experience was so traumatic for us.
We couldn’t wait to leave.
Staff don’t care. Very bad and rude attitude.
Robert who helped with our luggage was brilliant and he also helped language translating to tell reception staff we were not happy. They didn’t care.
Low cost ingredients used for breakfast.
The whole hotel has a very bad smell and everything you touch feels sticky due to the very bad condensation throughout the whole building.
Will be complaining to Expedia
I have enclosed some pictures of the awful state of this hotel.
It needs new management who can turn this hotel around as it’s a big hotel good location but it needs good leadership and management.

The hotel had a nice manager (Angelica) and two fantastic security officers (Roberto & Jose). We hated every minute we were at this hotel. The two young short men that work at reception look miserable and NEVER smile (as opposed to Roberto & Jose who should be working at reception due to their great people skills). The tub in the shower was peeled; Mold on the caulking; No WIFI in ANY of the rooms (9 floors); tons of mosquitos in the lobby; found out I was over charged for the buffet lunch everyday and received a refund; NOBODY at reception speaks English (or pretneds not to); most of the staff in the cafeteria (servers) look miserable, never smile and look like they hate their jobs; The WIFI is only available in the lobby and extremely slow; dusty shelves in the room; at check out I was told 2 bottles of whiskey were missing from the mini bar (funny cause my wifeA and I don't drink alcohol at all). One of the cleaning staff must have stolen it (thank god security helped otherwise I would've had to pay for something we didn't touch). hotel has a pool and a small beach but no beach towels at the front desk. They send you to your room to get towels for the beach. We have stayed in small and big hotels all over the world and in almost 20 years of travelling, this is the only hotel we wish we had not gone too.
