Well located, but property needs a refresh

This is a tired property that needs a refresh. It's a good value for an all-inclusive, well located in \"El Centro\" of San Andres's main town and steps from the beach and some cool restaurants. But I was disappointed that the bathroom was as dingey as it was. The shower door was rusty and grimey. The sliding doors that opened to our oceanview balcony were old and got stuck frequently. Time for an update. That said, it's still a decent value, oceanview, and well located, and I'd probably go back.

Good location

Most of the staff were very friendly. A few were very basic in their relationships with the clients. No swimming pool in this hotel; you had to walk 300 m to Sol Caribe San Andrés to enjoy the pool and shows. But this makes the Sea Flower very quiet indeed.
Great food changing every day. Room was nice and roomy but very noisy from the street (balcony doors did not shut well). Toilet was basic.

Staff unhelpful and refuses to speak English. Room dark, needed a flashlight. Hotel really old. Internet doesn't work in rooms. Buffet is pretty average, but if you don't make it amongst the first, you will have to eat leftovers if any are left. No one cares that you will be hungry!!! Checkout was one hour long and a nightmare! Did I say horrible and unhelpful staff? Did I mention absoulutely no customer service? Do yourself a favor and DO NOT book this hotel.

Nice Hotel, even better staff

I took my wife there for 4 days celebrating her birthday. She had the time of her life thanks to the very professional and attentive staff. Judy Bent at the front desk was exceptional. The rest of the staff that need recognition are Gabriel Polo, Leonardo, Angelica, Nidia Roldan, and Gisella. Because of these outstanding people, we are making plans to return to the Sea Flower asap. Everything went much better than I could have imagined. The management needs to let the above staff members know how pleased and appreciative my wife and I am. I am a vacation specialist from Miami, and I will be encouraging my clients to strongly consider making the Sol Caribe Sea Flower or DeCampo their vacation destination. We were very pleased and satisfied 100%. I had never heard of San Andres. My wife is Colombian and went there as a child. She always wanted to return one day. I decided to surprise her for her birthday. One of the best decisions of my life. We both are extremely happy...Thank you.

Great location, central to everything, nice rooms and very big. The food is basic, poor, not many choices. Breakfast is the worse.

Good, that you can have the meals at the other hotels of Sol Caribe, and that you can also go to spend a night at Providencia, using the same booking.

Staff very nice and helpful. The Beach Club very nice!! but the best one is the AQUA CLUB and that beach...look for Jason - the best barman!!

We really enjoyed this hotel. The location is great. The complimentary breakfasts and Dinners were great. The room was very clean with a good quite air conditioner. The location is perfect for shopping and walking to the beach. The staff are helpful and friendly. The price was reasonable, therefore, we really highly recommend this hotel to others.

Awful hotel. Looks like it was not touched since the 1980's. Dirty halls and floors. Construction going on and dust everywhere. The food was really bad, too. Would not recommend it at all. Stay at the Hotel Sunrise instead.

excellent hotel but no internet service...

overall I enjoy staying at this hotel every time I visit San Andres. The staff is excellent and the rooms are comfortable. An excellent little coffee shop is right across the street & the main shopping area is only a block away. My only complaint was the lack of internet service in the hotel. Overall it is a good choice for the island.

the sol caribe is an old hotel the requires a great of maintenance
the shower spigot was rusted and fell off
the air conditioner broke on our second nite and we had to change rooms
the curtains in the changed room were NOT dark at all and did not block the sun
sliding glass doors on the balconts are old and rusted and very thin glass therefore they do not block te noise from the street

I stayed at Sol Caribe Sea Flower from Dec 29, 2012 until Jan 1, 2013 and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised about this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone travelling to San Andrés Island.

This hotel is conveniently located very close to El Centro and several other stores. Also, it's worth mentioning that the food is just great.

Everything is OK but there are some things the hotel should work in order to improve guest experience.

1. There should be an option for an earlier check-in because 15:00/3 PM is quite late
2. The hotel doesn't look old but it needs some renovation. Not a deal breaker for me but could be for some people
3. Wi-Fi should be available in all the hotel even if you'd have to pay extra for it. It was quite umconfortable going to the lobby every time I needed Internet access.

Overall, a good hotel. If I ever go back to San Andés, I'd stay there again.

Public areas, lobby, dining area, were great, food was excellent. bathroom was a bit small, room was large but very noisy from traffic and construction. Towel service rather poor. You have to take a bus to the private beach...worth it, but the bus could run at more convenient times. Town beach is nearby but not very safe. Hotel near centre of town, nice for evening walks.

Staff let down by a poorly maintained building

San Caribe Sea Flower is one of three San Caribe hotels on San Andres, and it is the one without a pool or access to a private beach. The one with the pool is in the central area of CBD five minutes walk away and the one with the private beach is about 5km away (a 20 minute drive by golf cart). The main public beach is about 7 minutes walk away. We found the staff very helpful for a couple in our 40s, providing information about local attractions, where to hire cars and where to visit. The complimentary breakfast and dinner while of a standard fare was plentiful and well cooked. But the staff were let down by a poorly maintained building. There were two air conditioners in our room and only one worked, and while it was permanently set to 17 deg C, was pumping out air at close to 28 or more (the wind coming in through the open windows was cooler!). There was sellotape covering up a gap between two windows, and it was with some great difficulty that I was able to open the sliding doors to the balcony (only one opened, the other would not budge). The doors to all the rooms looked battered and only one of the lifts worked. The exterior of the building had a number of obvious large cracks in the plaster. The valance around the base of the bed had been probably never been cleaned.

Good price / quality hotel

We stayed for 4 nights and had a nice room (bed a bit hard, but I prefer a bit to hard then too soft) a great view (specially requested) at the ocean and an nice balcony and good working airco (necessary!). I don't recommend dinner (it is not bad but def not good either) better are breakfast and lunch (changing is no problem per day basis). We also went to visit the Sol Caribe Campo hotel 1 day (free transport, you can change your lunch to this hotel) and however this hotel is more beautiful I'm still happy with my choice to go at Sea flower one (better location) and better lunch! The building of the Sea flower is the biggest 'negative' as it is very ugly but we didn't care to much about this and on the inside it just looks fine. Some other tips; go to Piscina West View and Rocky Cay isla (both in my opinion better then main attraction Johnny Cay isla). People are great all around on the island!

Good value for money

We had a package including half board.
In overall the hotel was good value for the price we paid. They had some maintenance works during the day that didn't bother at all. The stuff is very nice and the food is good.
They have some problems with hot water but it was always fixed when we called the reception.
The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the center and the beach.

This was by far the hotel with the worse bed ever seen. You wake up in such a pain. Plus we found a cigarette by the trash in the bathroom. The cleaning service missed the throw and the hotel staff acted like they had no idea what was going on.

This could be a good hotel to stay at for business purposes in San Andres. It is missing one essential ingredient for the business traveler - internet in the rooms. An English news channel would be good too.

Staying at the sol caribe was overall a joy. Though not ultra modern the great location, professional and generally friendly service but especially outstanding facilities that made more thyan worth the stay. Our room was spoacious, clean and comfortable with a large , clean . The pool area was lovely,well maintained and serviced and overall a joy to relax. ..and need to highlight the outstanding bar service with a free supply of drinks were avilable..esoecually the pina coladas.!.. Add a clean and well serviced dining area with breakfast and buffet was above average and the inhouse nightclub on the 6th floor and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for its overall excellent value for money.

Huge room with two balconies overlooking the Caribbean.
Meals were simply delicious and the menu was changing every day.
Location was pretty convenient - within walking distance to beach, shopping centre, ferry port and culture centre.
Staff very friendly.

Negatives--
Problem with tap water. Noises during the day due to hotel maintenance and street traffic. Very intense air conditioning when it is hot outside - be careful if you easily get ill due to air-conditioning.

This hotel is convenient to the airport. I was traveling to Providencia and needed an overnight stay going and coming back. This hotel is perfect for that as it is a 5 minute taxi ride to the airport or 10,000 COP for the ride.

Mais prós do que contras!

Primeiramente, o atendimento foi excelente por parte de todos, desde a recepção até o staff do restaurante, Stiven, Kelly e todos os demais. A localização é boa. Para se ter uma ideia, é uma rua que dá diretamente no aeroporto, em uma caminhada de 15 minutos. Como eu estava apenas com uma bagagem leve e com rodinhas, fui e voltei a pé. Quem pega um apartamento com vista é privilegiado (ap. 701). Mas fique atento com o som de um bar bem na frente. Leve tampoes de ouvido, pois chega a ser insuportável, mas não funciona todos os dias. A comida, apesar de simples, é deliciosa e bem temperada, parecendo até com a comida brasileira. Em oito dias de hospedagem, quase não houve repetição dos pratos principais no jantar nem no café da manhã. O que eu vejo que precisa melhorar são as instalações. O hotel está precisando de uma reforma. Elevadores e móveis muito velhos e desgastados, box de acrílico no banheiro. Merecia uma renovação. Outro ponto que me deixou frustrado foi a proibição de jantar no outro hotel Sol Caribe Centro, como informado na reserva. E também não é permitido passar o dia no Sol Caribe Campo, como também informado quando da reserva. Mas a barraca de praia funciona lá na praia de San Luis, mas sem transfer. Pelo menos o ônibus passa bem na frente do hotel Sol Caribe Sea Flower. Mas a estadia foi muito boa. Pela simpatia e pelas excelentes refeições, eu voltaria a me hospedar nele (estive hospedado em maio/junho de 2024).

Es un hotel muy bien ubicado, cerca al muelle donde se toman las embarcaciones para los tours marítimos. No tiene playa al frente, pero a cuadra y media encontramos una magnifica playa.

El hotel que enfrente del famoso parque de la Barracuda, que es el punto de encuentro de los tours turísticos terrestres.

Junto al hotel hay buenos restaurantes, y la zona comercial esta a una cuadra de distancia,

Hay muchos sitios para alquilar carros, motos y contratar tours turísticos.

Por ser un hotel de la cadena SOLAR se puede hacer uso del club de playa ubicado en el barrio San Luis, donde la playa es espectacular.

A nivel general me parece costoso para lo que ofrece. La habitación que nos tocó no tenía buena vista, ni balcón, el hotel no tiene piscina, si se quiere este servicio toca ir a los otros de la cadena sol caribe. La comida no es muy variada. El televisor es muy pequeño, en la ducha las separaciones entre baldosas están manchadas. Las fotos en este portal solo muestran las habitaciones \"supuestamente buenas\", porque la que me tocó nada que ver con estas fotos. No volvería.

Hotel muito bem localizado , quartos de bom tamanho , ar condicionado gelando . Café da manhã muito bom para os padrões locais e jantar que estava incluso muito bom .
Funcionários pouco simpáticos , falta um pouco de treinamento para lhe dar com turistas , essencial num local que vive de turistas . Aliás , o povo da ilha não é muito simpático ! Deixam muito a desejar os nativos! Para quem tem sono leve , terá dificuldades para dormir pois há um bar na frente que toca reggae até altas horas da noite e parece que está dentro do quarto

O hotel é antigo mas está sendo reformado aos poucos.
Tamanho do quarto excelente, mas o ar condicionado em cima da cama incomoda porque fica muito direcionado pra cama, impossível deixar desligado devido ao calor.
Não conte com check-in antecipado, e é bem tarde inclusive, somente às 15:00. Serviço de arrumação dos quartos é extremamente lento, a impressão é que só tinha uma pessoa pra limpar e organizar todos os quartos, teve dia que arrumaram nosso quarto após as 16:00 somente, achamos inclusive que não iriam fazer.
Wi-fi é bem ruim, mas por se tratar de uma ilha não dá pra exigir muito.
Nas cadeiras dos quartos poderiam colocar feltro pra amenizar o ruído, são pesadas e teve uma noite que o infeliz do vizinho ao lado resolveu arrastar umas duzentas vezes as malditas cadeiras.
O quarto é muito claro, quem tem problemas para dormir com claridade sugiro levar tampão para os olhos, costuma clarear o dia as 6:10/6:15.
A localização é excelente, dá pra ir a pé ao centrinho e à praia principal Sprat Bight.
Café-da-manhã é muito bom, com bastante opção. Incluso na diária almoço ou jantar que também vale muito a pena.

Ótimo custo beneficio com água quente

O hotel tem ótimo custo beneficio. Comida simples, mas muito boa e saborosa. Limpeza nota 10.
Minha única critica é com relação às janelas, que pela ausência de vedação, não elimina o barulho do vento nem o da rua. A troca por janelas anti ruído faria esse hotel perfeito.

Excelente el hotel, a 2 cuadras de la playa, habitaciones amplias, camas enormes, la vista desde el balcón inmejorable, el personal muy atento, servicio de comidas exquisitas. Cuando vuelva a la isla, será mi primera opción!

Tive uma boa estadia no hotel Sea Flower, boa localização, equipe simpática e prestativa, comida boa. Mas o check in foi uma tortura. O hospede chega cansado de longa viagem e a recepção queria porque queria que eu apresentasse um voucher impresso \"para garantir que minha reserva estava paga\", porque \"precisamos desse voucher\", pura burocracia. Foi preciso localizar o e-mail da reserva, enviar para o endereço eletrônico do hotel, imprimir, haja tempo e paciência. Nunca nenhum hotel me pediu isso. Enfim... fora isso, faltou luz mais de uma vez e houve problemas com o ar condicionado, mas nada grave. A falta de energia, recorrente, é problema estrutural da ilha, não do hotel.

El primer dia nos dieron una habitacion pesima, encima del bar del hotel con musica a todo volumen hasta las cuatro de la mañana,y con sonido de taladro desde las ocho am por arreglos del hotel, afortunadamente nos cambiaron a otra mucho mejor.
El baño es muy oscuro.

O hotel é próximo de tudo que se precisa. Em frente à marina e ao lado do centro comercial e a uns 15 minutos do fervo da cidade e com funcionários agradabilíssimos. Mas a iluminação do quarto e banheiro de péssima qualidade. Chuveiro fraco muitas vezes quase gotejava E o restaurante com poucas opções, se chegasse mais tarde não tinha mais algumas opções.
