Nos gustaron todas sus instalaciones, su historia, la ubicación, pero lo que no nos gustó fueron los agentes de la agencia Faranda, no entendíamos en si cuál era el objetivo de estar detrás de los huéspedes, súper insistentes tomando datos, poniendo citas y puntos de encuentro dizque para mostrar no sé qué cosas, fijo era para vender algún plan de viajes o endeudar a la gente, eso no los gustó para nada

We didn’t have to go anywhere else because all our needs were taken care of right here. The customer service was excellent, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would especially like to recognize Mauricio for his outstanding service. He was professional, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. I suppose I'll start with the good before the bad. The property, outside of the rooms is beautiful and really amazing. The birds residents and deer were adorable. The pool and spa areas are beautiful. There is also a cool, beach club area just for hotel guests. This is a classic Cartagena property in a prime location. Now the bad. Imagine my shock at the condition of the rooms and guest towers. The views from the towers should be epic. Except all of the windows are filthy. The rooms are small. The bathrooms are terrible and there was a lack of hot water. Many guests were complaining about the hot water. The mini bar and snacks in the room were a joke. The entire management team should be fired starting with the general manager. The service team was excellent! They are just working with what they have and to the level that they are being led.

This is NOT a 5 star property. If not for the beautiful and classic design outside of the rooms, it would be a 3 star property.

EXPEDIA! Shame on you for listing this as a 5 star hotel on your site. Send someone from your team to check out this hotel and get it right. I'll never stay here again. Maybe buy the day pass for their pools and beach club, but stay somewhere else!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, despite the cleaning crew not cleaning or wiping down the counter in the bathroom only making beds, changing towels and taking out trash, they should thoroughly clean if they are going into the rooms. Also there is no balconies which sucked! The staff was very accommodating which is a plus Alexy and Mauricio. The major issue is by the lobby bathroom there is really a bad smell daily. Also the hotel is a bit dead ( quiet) they should offer some entertainment of the culture and music. Breakfast was decent but they didn’t offer no fish on any day and options like gluten free or sugarless items for those who don’t eat sugar and are sensitive to gluten.

El hotel es muy bonito pero deberian darle mas mantenimiento de limpieza a las ventanas, baños especificamente las bañeras y tambien las puertas del baño estaban sucias. El staff que nos recibio no fue muy explicito con las amenidades que ofrecen. El desayuno es excelente tienen una gran variedad y rellenan todo lo que se va terminando siempre habia buena comida a cualquier hora aunque llegaras al final del desayuno que cierra a las 11:00am. Y algo super bueno es que el desayuno inicia a las 6:30am y de da tiempo de comer antes de cualquier excursion. Lo unico que no me gusto y que se lo dejo a los lectores es que no acepten visitar del clud de Yates para venta de membresía del hotel. Por que son muy buenos convenciendo pero te envuelven en unas cuantas mentiras y si decides restrarctarte o cancelar el contrato, te hacen la vida imposible, les envien un email antes de la fecha de mi cancelacion y me dijeron que me contestaban en 15 dias y este es la hora que nada han dicho. Asi que te recomiendo no aceptar ninguna oferta de venta de membresia aunque el hotel no es malo. Pero puedes encontrar mejores ofertas en Expedia.

The hotel is ok just a little dated…it’s celebrated 80 years and it’s showing its age in some areas…a good example would be the furnishings in the rooms…practical but old
We found the some of staff not overly helpful…a tip is added to your check so they certainly do go out of their way to do anything extra…an example was we sat along the main pool for a drink and a server came to the loungers next to us brought something, looked directly at us and never came back..we waited for about 15 minutes then left

Not all of the staff don’t go out of their way…the bartender at the adult pool made us some of the tastiest mojitos ever and did it with a huge smile…we tipped accordingly on top of the check…the room staff did a great job and our room was always neat and tidy…the staff at the front desk were great and helped wherever they could

We received a free dinner on our first day from the hotel and enjoyed a tasty dinner at the buffet…if I have a complaint about the buffet, there was no egg station for a couple fried eggs if that’s what you wanted for breakfast but there were lots of things to have for breakfast

One thing I would suggest to the hotel would be to provide face cloths in the rooms…there are none provided…all in all we had a nice stay…good location close to many things to do and great restaurants

We ended up loving this hotel! We are a family of four with two children, aged seven and 10. The pools were amazing. Restaurant had everything we needed. Tons of families with kids playing. Walk to the beach, and just a short taxi to the walled city. Breakfast was a highlight- the best we had in Colombia!

I would rate this hotel and 5 star if they made the appropriate updates. It is a beautiful propertie with amazing staff and great amenities but the conditions in which the rooms are leave very much to be desired. I understand it the oldest hotel in Cartagena but it does not have to look like it. Other than this, staff was 10/10, breakfast was good and the amenities were excellent. We spent a wonderful vacation at Hotel Caribe. Will visit again but only if I know it has been revamped.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is excellent—very convenient and close to everything we needed, which made getting around easy and enjoyable.

What truly stood out was the staff: everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality made a big difference in our experience.

The property itself is unique and charming, with animals around that added a special touch—especially enjoyable for families and kids.

Breakfast was very good, with a nice variety and fresh options each morning. The swimming pools were also a highlight—clean, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing.

They have rooms that have a king bed and 3 single twin beds for larger families . Breakfast is excellent with many options even for picky ones likes me ! Pool is larger than most other hotel pools. Beach is right across street and nice that there is private section on beach for hotel guests. Exotic animals on hotel property a bonus ! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to vacation in Cartagena.

Rooms are old and need updating. Some days we had 2 towels, no towels, correct amount of towels (2 bath, 1 on the floor, 1 hand towel). 1 day we had a warm shower others days it was cold or lukewarm.

Hard to get a cup of coffee in the morning. No self service available. Once we asked for coffee and got 2 empty cups.

The hotel is very well located . Access to beach very easy. Very nice pool and garden area. Very professional and polite staffs.
But the hotel needs a drastically renovation of rooms in particular windows. Despite located at sixth floor, my room was very noisy due to bad quality of windows. I managed to change three times my room to reach a clean one at the end. The process of finding a convenient room took two hours. This is too long at the end of an international flight! By the way , the photo of the hotel is irrelevant. The hotel has three different buildings, one of them ( iconic one) is shown for the presentation of the hotel. The two others are modern buildings with very bad maintained facades. I was really disappointed when I realized my room is outside the iconic building.

Overall, this hotel has several genuinely strong features, but also some clear gaps that materially impacted the stay.

What worked well:
The location is excellent, and the gym and pool areas are very good and well positioned as key strengths. I also want to recognize that some members of the staff were professional, helpful, and delivered a great experience.

Where improvement is needed:
The room was clearly in need of an upgrade. In particular, sound isolation should be improved significantly, and the ventilation needs to be strengthened to properly remove moisture. These are basic comfort and quality expectations that were not met.

Breakfast was below expectations, and the service in the bar area and at reception did not align with the standard I would anticipate for this property.

Summary:
With upgrades to the rooms and a more consistent service level in breakfast, bar, and reception, this could be a much stronger offering. As it stands, I would rate this as a 4-star hotel based on my experience.

The breakfast was very limited: lots of pork and fried items. The beach access was horrible: it was a public beach with vendors everywhere, water too rough to swim, and not even pretty. To see a nice beach, you have to oay $100/pp to take a 45 minute boat ride to an island nearby. I found this deceiving. Also, a family room with 5 guests needs 5 towels, shampoos, waters, etc. Every day we would get less, or even none. Last, a second trash can is needed in the room. The tiny one by toilet isn't sufficient. Water from shower floods the bathroom floor.

The hotel grounds are absolutely gorgeous with a massive swimming pool (along with kids pool and multiple spas). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is amazing. We absolutely loved our stay here and the kids didnt want to leave. A few minor issues with the room, bit they were fixed immediately by the feiendly and efficiebt staff.

Pros: Great hotel and setting! Enjoyed the spacious, clean rooms and the surrounding wild animals and exotic birds—a truly unique experience.
Cons: Service is extremely slow everywhere (restaurant, bar, pool, check-in). Food was okay. Warning: Do NOT rely on the \"Welcome Drink\" voucher. Despite what the voucher says, staff claimed it was only for a specific premade drink and refused to honor it for simple non-alcoholic beverages like a coke for my son. Despite asking for the supervisor nobody came and the bartender just shrugged when we asked. Always ask for prices and confirm services BEFORE ordering. (Note: you Pay a third party for beach chairs closer to the water which is something we didn’t know)

The Caribe Hotel is one of my favorite hotels to stay in. The staff is so gracious, nice and accommodating. The hotel has a nostalgia that's unmatched. The hotel grounds are well kept and provide many amenities. The breakfast buffet is always delicious. I highly recommend the Caribe Hotel.

Gardens were beautiful, the hotel is a very old building and could use some much needed upgrades and renovation. Can't say that the rooms were clean, had to use a towel in the bottom of the tub to sit in it. Some of the front desk employees were amazing and very helpful. Even though the hotel did not fulfill our changed thru Expedia reservation and we had to check out a day earlier before our flight was due to leave, management refused to budge (policies). But it was written in a paper trail per Expedia. ( system upgrades were in progress). That was very frustrating to have to find another place to stay for our last night, so I can't understand how this could be a gold choice award hotel.
The breakfast was okay, fresh fruit, sweeat breads and had omelet options, which you had to either stand in the heat to order cause the waiters were not very willing to do so. I gound the pool staff, other employees quite unpleasant unless you spoke spanish. Then they made an attempt to be nice. The little old porter guy was a treasure. All in all, I would say I wouldn't recommend the property to other Americans, or Caucasians cause there definitely was a difference in the way that employees treated you. And there are so many other trully great hotels to stay at, that you dont have to be subjected to this kinda nonsense.

This hotel is conveniently located for shopping, dining, etc.. We were able to complete our check-in process when we arrived but was unable to get our room which wasn’t a problem initially so we went out to explore the town, sites, etc.. After checking back after several hours, our room still wasn’t ready and was given many different excuses as to why. Upon my request, I spoke with Francisco who was the Manager and he quickly resolved the matter in which we were provided a different room and provided with additional services for the inconvenience. Though the experience did not start off particularly the way that we expected, the overall experience was good and we would use this hotel in the future when visiting.

My stay at Hotel Caribe by Faranda Grand was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and felt truly taken care of.

The property itself is stunning, great amenities, and a location that’s perfect- just a short walk to nearby stores and attractions.
What really made my experience outstanding, however, was the service. Every staff member went above and beyond, but I want to especially recognize Alexy Ruiz one of the managers. His professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine care made all the difference in my stay. He was always ready to assist with a smile, making me feel like a valued guest rather than just a visitor.

The food was delicious, the pool was a favorite for our family, and the entire atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. I cannot thank the team enough for making my stay so memorable.
I highly recommend Hotel Caribe by Faranda Grand for anyone looking for a perfect mix of comfort, service, and hospitality. I will definitely be returning!

The majority of the breakfast buffet provided is límited and the majority of the offered dishes have too many calories and meals that turn into sugar. It is not so varied and 60 year old people and older are not so considered.
It is clear that they do not have a nutricionist.
Specifically some of the waitresses have not such a nice attitude at the breakfast restaurant.
On the other hand, the people at the front desk are really nice as well as bellboys and the cleaning staff.

Gym was disappointing broken machines and old equipment in an airless room
They have another gym that is good but just got weights but not always open
Service was not great
Beach dirty and not appealing

Its a wonderful classic colonel property. Its very old and the elevator is very charming. The grounds are wonderful and the pools are well maintained and served very well by the staff. The room we stayed in was very small. But the bed was spectacular as were the pillows and linens
For the price I'd recommend a stay at the Hotel Caribe
