We did not like the room because the bed was very old and noisy,
Water from the shower leak on the floor, the air conditioning stop during the night, at breakfast the preparation of the omelets was very slow because they were not set up inefficient, the food was very limited.

Good, basic stay

In general we had a good stay. Locatios is good. Bed was very comfortable, however, the duvet did not have a cover. This is not hygienic at all. Also, only one towel per person is available. This means that you have to dry your whole body, from face to feet with a single towel. They were changed daily. We found very helpful that we were able to leave our suitcases at the hotel after checkout. Also, one towel x the swimming pool is provided which is great. The swimming pool and its whole area is not clean. Breakfast is buffet but not to our taste. I think that they should reduce the amount of bread and introduce croissant, proper coffee made from espresso machine, proper bread. The air conditioner in the room was working but the temperature could not be regulated. Settings did not work and it was either too cold with the air on or too hot with no air. There was a hair dryer in the toilet which was good and a small fridge and tv in the room. Wifi available in the room even if automatic connection is not. Curtains were heavy and allowed a nice sleep in the morning. Plenty of hangers in the closet.

The location itself is worth the price. However, if you dont like noise and people drinking until late avoid this spot. The pool is small and not all that. Food was average at best. Some staff members are really cool, others not as much. I do t like that their doors seem flimsy and unsecure and the safe box is really small.

In summary if your there for partying, drinking, the beach and dont need anything special, this is the place to go. If you want quality in your stay and less crowds, avoid this spot.

The location of the hotel is very good as well as their breakfast. The bad thing is they do not attend the complains such as I had problems with the air conditioning and TV of the room and it took them 3 days to finally send someone, and they did it because I had to stand in front of them until they do so. In other room the phone didn't work and they never care to send someone to help, even though we spoke with the person they have to attend complains.
The installations are a little old, specially in bathrooms. Also very important is they never mentioned that the rooms didn't have hot water and only you get it if you get a special room.

No hot water in the hotel room. Asked the front desk to change rooms but they said I did not book a room with hot water. Then after brief argument saying we booked a room with hot water staff said they will call back. After 1 hour staff did not respond, went to front desk again and front desk said we should have notified them about the hot water situation when we check in and that we have to wait maybe until next day. Then we got frustrated and raised our voice at the staff and then they finally agreed to change our room. Poor customer service. Roof deck pool okay but seating area is under renovation and looks nothing like the photos

Run down hotel in a beautiful island

San Andres is an amazing place to visit. I pick this hotel because I wanted to be on the beach. The hotel is old and one day the sewer odor was terrible. I paid for an Ocean view room which are more expensive and when I complained about the odor they wanted to give me a room with a worst view. The hotel is not directly in front of the beach because there is rock and a cement area where people take pictures. You have a short walk to go to the beach. But for the price I paid it should have had nothing but pristine beach in front.

Location was good, some of the pictures on website dont look like they should. Some of the rooms look out dated. Also I found out that a standard room does not come with hot water, you have to get a superior room. Had to change rooms. The second room and tiny nats flying around. Had to change rooms again. Finally got a room that was good because they will not give refunds. You have to buy some kind of insurance and i think I know why. Pool area needs work, paint, rails are rusted, there was scafolding in pool area, upper bar roof falling apart and low that you can hit your head on it. Some of the staff were great but hotel needs work.

Excelent location, great staff but horrible management. Also a problem at checkin. We booked an Oceanfront room and were given a standard room. Our confirmation copy only said one double occupancy room. After arguing for 20 minutes I found my electronic booking email showing Oceanfront so they moved us. No way to start a vacation. Also paid for inroom wifi but no signal. Everyday they told me they would replace the router but never did for the entire week. Aside from the 2 problems everything else was good. Great desk staff!

Unless you are 19 and on spring break, this is a horrible location. The partiers on the beach/street are so loud and you can hear every door slamming down the hall, people shouting, etc until 3 am. If you are over 25, stay on the other side of the island!!

Hotel is dreadful. Plastic glasses and cups in the restaurant. Swimming pool is a plunge pool and only opens 3 times a day for 2 hours each time.
rooms are acceptable but the windows are that dirty you can't see through them. All in all this hotel resembles noting more that a hostal

Girlfriend filled in the review card as 'Excelente' on all levels, but I had a few problems -

*Additional charge at check-in for security. Just include it in the rates - it's a really bad way to commence the stay.
*Slipped on the bathroom floor - non-slip tiles in the shower but slippery gloss titles throughout rest of room. Didn't make a fuss but did request more towels for the floor, which were never provided.
*Staff at tour desk are lovely, but I truly have no idea what I paid the hotel for re: tours, considering payments were taken at the destination anyway. Did I pay for you to point me down the street?
*Beds are a little short, and I'm not a tall guy.

PROS:
*Spacious room.
*Comfortable (albeit short) bed.
*Friendly staff.
*Excellent proximity to beach, restaurants, tours, & shops.
*Great rooftop pool with spectacular views.
*Very clean.
*Good breakfast, but seriously, invest in a proper toaster.

Perfect For Our Holiday

We were really happy with our stay at the hotel. The hotel totally met our needs. We booked a room looking over the ocean. We had the option of eating the free breakfast or heading out to buy breakfast at a local restaurant or from a food stand. We did both. The hotel entrance is a short walk from where the street the taxi had to let us off. When we left, the concierge brought our bags to the street and called us a taxi. So that part was very simple. The staff were excellent. Very friendly. Helpful when ever we asked questions. The hotel is simple, which is perfect for a holiday in a city where the beaches, shops, restaurants and bars are the number one reason for visiting.

The hotel is ok if you are not too fussy but for the price paid you'd at least expect a hot shower. I would not recommend the hotel or the island itself as there are much better Caribbean options to travel to. Everything in the island is made for the average tourist and rarely you find quality accommodations or quality food. The ocean is beautiful but I think as a tourist money is better spend elsewhere.

First time in Colombia and first time visiting San Andres. Was very excited but pessimistic at the same time because i am very conscious of where i sleep and how clean the area where i stay is. Arrived to the hotel and the entrance is beautiful! Love the lobby. Once you arrive to the front desk the staff is very nice straight to the point have you check in really fast and then give you the key to the room. There are two elevators and stairs to go to the rooms. Opened the door to my beach view room and was very surprised of how big and nice it was. It was such a beautiful room with a beautiful view and the shower is nice the sink is nice there was two couches and a long sofa and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in the middle of most of the attractions. Right in front of the beach(easy access). In the middle of the casino and the closest coolest club. Enjoyed my stay and would really recommend you consider this hotel! Very comfortable and convenient.

Too expensive and untrustable personnel

- Too Expensive
- No hot water in shower
- Personnel does not speak English and speaks very fast so you just say OK to everything
- Do not check out during night, personnel are doormans and do not know how credit card machine works (I had to go to the ATM and pay ATM and bank fees to get cash to check out)
- Check out is manually done by one employee. Go with the employee and verify he is not taking stuff from the minibar as it happened to me. After that, I tried to explain the other employee that I did not use any of the products in the minibar but impossible to explain that it was the other employee. I just paid it - here the problem is not the 5$ additional I paid, it is the principle of trusting people where you stay. Hopefully none of my personal article was stolen.

The service very poor. I came in almost 4 pm for my check in and my room wasn't ready... at the checkout they were charging me for a bottle of whisky that I didn't consume. I don't even drink alcohol.. i had almost w the front desk to remove those chargers. Almost lost my flight. I left on everything day early because didn't like this hotel.

The hotel is right in the beach.

The locación is the best about this hotel, besides the bedroom is roomy and comfortable. Staff is kínd. Breakfast aré not great but since it is included You can overllook at it. There Was a problem with the wifi connection during three days beacuse of the weather, that was the explanation , though you get free wifi at different places even some streets.
It is near shops, all downtown área and restaurants. My stay Was good.

Great location, on the beach promenade, facing north. Not at the ritzy end but conveniently close to the commercial centre, bus stops and taxis. A US$5 ride from airport. Weak internet connection in rooms. Shower water not hot but okay for tropics. The staff were friendly. We booked online but were asked to pay more for insurance on arrival, another US$30.

Diária caríssima, nos enviaram pra um quarto que não condizia com a foto do que reservamos, as paredes do quarto nem estavam todas pintadas , e não tinha quem aguentasse ficar no quarto pq o banheiro tinha um odor insuportável, reclamei e eles só disseram que não tinha outro quarto para nós.E ainda cobram 8.500 pesos por pessoa e por noite , que de acordo com eles é um seguro do hotel .Escolham outro hotel, tem muitos bem localizados e que vale a diaria que vc paga.

A estadia foi ótima! Os funcionários são atenciosos. Café da manhã excelente e farto e o quarto grande e confortável também. Se o hotel tivesse água quente no chuveiro teria sido mais agradável (a maioria dos hotéis em san Andrés são assim). E o hotel cobra uma taxa que chama taxa de segurança (me pareceu uma maneira de cobrar a mais já que na ilha não são cobrados taxas de imposto.) muito bem localizado! Perto de todos os pontos turísticos.

Todo parecía ser perfecto. La habitación con vista parcial al mar, el bar, la piscina, el desayuno. Pero nada absolutamente nada lo fue, la habitación se demoraron en entregarla, las ventanas súper sucias, el ascensor es muy viejo. Luego el servicio del bar NULO no había servicio de bar porque supuestamente la persona no estaba (a mi en fotos me encantó el bar) no poder hacer uso del servicio del bar fue decepcionante, la piscina muy pequeña, muchísimo ruido porque siguen haciendo adecuaciones, no muy limpia y sin ningún protocolo de bioseguridad. En serio que no recomiendo la piscina, el desayuno si es tipo Buffet pero no hay casi opciones, sólo un tipo de jugo y los huevos (no suelo quejarme de la comida) pero muy regulares, demasiado húmedos y salados, el pan parecía viejo, y el yogurt tipo económico. El servicio en general muy mal, desde el momento del registro, no tenían la reserva en su sistema, no nos dieron información a dónde podíamos Almorzar o comer, nos guardaron las maletas pero se molestaban si uno les pedía sacar algo, la sala de estar al lado del bar divina pero totalmente incómoda, sin contar con que además hay que pagar un impuesto que nadie hace mención, puede tener una buena ubicación pero hay hoteles mucho mejores y por menor precio.

Wi-Fi doesn’t work in the rooms and most of the old bad reviews are true!
After calling the front desk 4 times and told them in person about the internet not working they gave all kind of excuses you can imagine. The wi-Fi works in the Lobby, restaurant and the pool floor which is the top level.
There is a huge problem in the rooms with humidity. The A/C vent and return vent are next to each other creating this humidity problem and all you clothing will become humid besides the mold building up in the bathroom walls.
Cleaning lady just did my bed one day out four nights I stayed there and I have to call the from desk to ask for the floor towel

In the restaurant there aren’t any salt and pepper neither napkins on the tables.

Floor hallways and rooms looks nice and shine. Ocean front hotel, walking distance from water activities , plenty of liquor stores and cheap and good restaurants.

Os lençóis não foram trocados antes de eu entrar no quarto, encontrei cabelo feminimo nos lençois, isso em época de pandemia, tirei até foto com tamanho absurdo. Comprei Lysoform pra jogar na cama inteira antes de dormir.

Chuveiro Elétrico e quase não existe água, você toma banho com a água pingando.

Internet - praticamente não funciona.

Goteira... tivemos chuva um dia e teve goteira no banheiro, não sei de onde vinha a água, mas passou o dia inteiro pingando.

La pandemia fue la excusa para un mal servicio, no tenían habilitada la piscina (ni siquiera para apreciar la vista), no entregaron las bebidas de cortesía incluidas en la reserva (ni siquiera agua pura), escaso, lento y mal desayuno, ventanas de habitación sucias por fuera. El señor de recepción con mal servicio.

Je m’explique : l’hôtel paraît bien en photos mais celles ci sont mensongères, les chambres sont insalubres avec des insectes de partout, de l’eau stagnante dans la douche qui ne part jamais, la douche où vous pouvez vous électrocuter car les fils électriques apparents pour « chauffer » l’eau (j’ai pris plusieurs fois des coups d électricité.).
Le petit déjeuner paraît en photo très bien mais la réalité est tout autre. Toutes les viennoiseries et différents pains sont ultra sec et immangeable. Les autres plats sont d’une qualité gustative nulle. Je ne suis pourtant pas difficile mais la c’était franchement pas mangeable...
Le service était déplorable et il apparaît que dormir avec les insectes et dans les conditions que nous avions eu était totalement normal... Pour ce prix là, je vous conseille de passer votre chemin.
Le seul point positif a été la proximité de la plage.

Hotel sujo, em obras, preço incompatível com o que encontramos.
Pedem no checo um que o hóspede faça um seguro saúde/ acidentes ou assine um termo abrindo mão e isentando o hotel de se dano.
Essa foi o boas vindas 68.000 pesos colombianos.
No entanto, verdade seja dita: as atendentes são simpáticas e atenciosas.

La ubicación es excelente. Las habitaciones no tienen control sobre la temperatura del aire acondicionado, el que por lo general, solo es frío por las noches, es incómodo estar en el día en la habitación porque el aire no enfría.

A l’arrivée déjà beaucoup d’attente , la femme est seule à l’accueil, nous avons une chambre avec un seule lit et pas de meuble dans la chambre mais rien du tout piur poser c’est affaire oui chambre 805 j’ai l’impression qu’elle etait en travaux. Petit déjeuner top et bien situer

Mediano, bem localizado. Pode melhorar bastante.

San Andrés aparentemente é carente de bons hotéis. O Calypso é mediano. A chegada é extremamente burocrática, vc preenche documentos mais documentos com os mesmos dados. A localização do Hotel é excelente, e não tivemos problemas com a água, queixa de quase todas avaliações de hoteis na ilha.

Pésimo hotel y muy caro para lo que es!

No hay agua caliente en el hotel para bañarse, solo las habitaciones de mayor costo. El desayuno es buffet pero de muy mala calidad, además, hay una construcción Justo al lado del hotel y si te dan una de las habitaciones parque dan hacia la construcción tienes cero privacidad y ruidos molestos durante el día.

O hotel está muito bem localizado, tem uma piscina (fria); não tem água quente no banheiro do quarto, apesar do anúncio quando da reserva de que teria, razão pela qual tínhamos escolhido ele (mas é suportável até o banho); quartos envelhecidos, precisando de reforma, mas limpos e organizados; banheiro escuro e com um cano no lugar do chuveiro (que não tinha); nosso quarto dava de frente pra uma obra, embora anunciado como com vista lateral para a cidade; café da manhã bem bom. O primeiro e o segundo andares estão reformados, o restante é velho. A piscina fica no último andar, com um bar na piscina e preços justos dos produtos. Atendente muito atencioso. Apesar desses inconvenientes, acreditamos que, devido a simplicidade de tudo na ilha, que é bem diferente do conforto que se pode encontrar na capital ou em Cartagena, por exemplo, por ser uma ilha de praia, sendo o hotel numa ótima localização, de frente para o mar e com café da manhã bem bom, torna-se uma boa escolha, o que me faria voltar a me hospedar, pela relação custo x benefício.
