As soon as I got there the staff immediately started helping, they helped with luggage, opened the doors, guided me where to go. They led me to check in which is on the 51st floor. Gave me my room card and there was a water station there so I got some. Headed to my room and it was enormous. Beautiful views, everything was clean, amazing bathroom and had a separate room for my luggage. A few minutes later and the staff brought my bags to my room. Breakfast here is wonderful. Most of the tables have a fantastic view of the city. The food selection was great and you can have breakfast up to 11am. I recommend getting there before 10:30 because that’s when they start to clean up. The bar was amazing and affordable, very friendly guest and had no issues talking in English. There’s lots of foreigners there so you’ll have no trouble talking.!If there’s a problem they always try to accommodate you. The swimming pool is fantastic with enough room. The chairs they had at the pool are comfortable and spacious. The hot tubs are in the locker room, separate for men and women. The sauna is a good size and was perfect. They close the pool at 10pm but even at the later hours there’s still people enjoying themselves. There’s a good sized plaza near the hotel that’s only 8 minutes away walking. That plaza has lots of food options, Starbucks, KFC, Hokben, lots of cafes, yogurt spots and much more. Theres no mall within walking distance but if you take a taxi it’s a 12-18 minute drive.

Rooms are beautiful and comfortable but had an odd experience when I tried to charge our dinner at Henshin (top floor restaurant/bar) to my room. Since dinner was more than my deposit they would not let me charge to my room unless I added to the deposit, essentially making me pre-pay for dinner. I have elite BonVoy status and have stayed at this hotel in the past. Big miss for management. Shameful. (And Henshin is not worth the money. Menu selection is odd, drinks were not good, and the service was shockingly bad considering how much staff they have on hand).

Scam alert for those staying at Westin Jakarta

I rate the hotel’s service as being less than poor mainly because what happened at its “rooftop” bar called Henshin.

On Dec 30, a friend and I went to the bar, and I ordered a 50-milliliter glass of Japanese whisky Yamasaki 12 which was priced at 1.625 million rupiah (roughly $100). Despite being on the menu, Yamasaki 12 was not available, and the person who took the order recommended another Japanese whisky brand called Hakushu. Thinking Hakushu was in a similar price range since the waiter at a Westin Hotel bar was recommending, I relented without actually checking its price with him or on the menu.

You guess it right: I should have checked Hakushu’s price since I was hit with a bill totaling 4.386 million rupiah (roughly $270) at the end of the evening. My Hakushu double or 50 milliliters was 4 million rupiah plus and my friend’s share was smaller since he ordered a soft drink.

When I checked out the next day, the desk’s duty manager was sympathetic, but I didn’t ask for a reimbursement since I should have checked the price of Hakushu.

Henshin’s (bar’s) manager a few days later emailed me and the person apologized “if there was a shortfall regarding the service from my team.” When I explained (again) what happened with my order, the person denied it was a scam. “In Westin, we care about the value of integrity and I believe my team didn't mean to scam you but it is more on how to communicate better.”

Yeah, right.

Great Breakfast, But Rooms Need an Update

I recently stayed at The Westin Jakarta, and while my overall experience was positive, there were a few aspects that stood out for different reasons.

Let me start with the highlight of my stay—the breakfast buffet. It was absolutely fantastic! There was an incredible variety of dishes, and I was thrilled to find a South Indian food selection as well. The quality of the food was excellent, and the options catered to various tastes, making breakfast one of the best parts of my experience.

However, when it comes to the rooms, I found the interior to be quite outdated. Although the room was clean and comfortable, the decor felt like it belonged to an older hotel. The furnishings and overall ambiance gave off a somewhat tired feel, and I believe the rooms could benefit from a modern refresh to match the high standards of the hotel’s other offerings.

While The Westin Jakarta still offers a comfortable stay, especially with its amazing breakfast, I think a room upgrade would make it an even

Good view

Being the highest building in Jakarta, Westin has the best view of the city. I love the automated blinds in the room. A very thoughtful addition. In terms of service, the staffs can be a little shy at times. We were disappointed that the in-room dining took longer than promised (we waited more than 40 minutes for our supper). Late check-out was not smooth. Only 2 counters were opened and both counters were busy at 2.30pm with check-in. Can give it the Afternoon Tea a miss at Daily Treats. Food was below average and poor service. However, the Japanese restaurant on Level 68, Henshin, has good food and excellent service.

Very nice modern hotel. The reception is located on level 52. Rooms are located above level 52. To reach ground floor from the room you have to switch lifts on level 52. Very inconvenient.

The view from the high floor corner room was great, the room was very clean with friendly housekeeping staff, the service was very personalized with several instances of security and front desk staff remembering my name later in the stay despite a short interaction at the start. I arranged hotel limo for transportation and it was clean and prompt. The drinks at the top of the hotel are great as well.

Corporate Sophistication in a Relaxed Environment

Westin Jakarta is an excellent property - friendly and helpful staff, nice gym and pool, great All Day dining cafe, and an excellent bar/restaurant on the rooftop with panoramic views of the city. I've stayed at the Westin at least 6 - 8 times already in 2018 and it has been consistently good. I spend 250 nights per year in hotels, and for Jakarta, the Westin is my preferred personal choice. The meeting and conference facilities were also particularly helpful and well serviced on my last visit.

Lovely stay

I love the stay at The Westin Jakarta. The hotel is great by itself and the amenities are good. The pillow is perfect and probably the best of all the hotels I have stayed.

Perhaps the only small thing I can see to improve is to have clearer signage such as where the hotel reception is out of the elevator from the hotel room, which level is the hotel lobby in the elevator and also perhaps some voice notification of the level the elevator is.

Apart from this, it is a lovely stay.

The hotel is always my first choice when coming to Jakarta and it does not disappoint. Large and spacious bedroom with exceptionally comfortable beds and easy to get transport when needed. Outstanding views of the city and I really enjoyed their rooftop bar. The staff are amazing and friendly and cannot do enough to help you. Overall another great stay.

I am a regular business traveler and has been trying several hotels around jkt but must say Westin is my new find gem. Very good service. Rooms very clean. Food good and most important healthy options available. Professional staff. Its one of the highest building in Jkt. Definitely coming back again.

Awesome view, impeccable service

The hotel is relatively new. Cleanliness will be a given. The high floors of the entire hotel makes the view extraordinary. Was staying at 60th floor with an awesome view every seconds of the day.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There's also a big lounge in the lobby area to just sit and relax for the panoramic view.

Cafe offers a good variety of food with decent quality. Had a avocado wrap and it tasted fantastic with crispy fries. However, the order took a bit longer to come and the staff didn't really comprehend English well but it make up for their willingness to rectify and the quick action to appease the angry diner. A thumbs up to the team.

The hotel is located very near to a local mall, just 10 minutes walk, with local fare, fast food. The other bigger malls are neither far not near, If taking a uber, the driver probably might not want to fetch.
