Beautiful inn

This is a lovely inn. The stay includes a wonderful full breakfast. I just wish the room we were in had been darker for sleeping- heavier window coverings and a door sweep at the bottom of the room door to block light. Otherwise terrific in all respects!

We had a lovely stay at The Inn at Millrace Pond. The place is a quaint Inn with beautiful surroundings, there is a nice pound on the property.
The Inn is a historic building made out of stones.
The beds and accommodations were very comfortable. Our room was cool and comfortable.

It's a 5 minute drive from Land of Made Believe , very convenient.

Breakfast is included and the dining room is beautiful.

Will be staying again at The Inn at Millrace Pond in the future.

My daughter and I stayed at the Inn for the weekend and it was beautiful there. Very quaint.

I cant thank Tricia enough for her hospitality and service. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our stay. I will definitely stay again.

The Inn was the venue for a Celebration of Life Luncheon for my father in law. The reception hall was beautiful and the food was very good. I was surprised to find such a large facility that could manage, what must have been, 150 people in such a small town and quiet Inn.

My family as well as those of my husband's extended family and friends all stayed at the Inn as my mother in law's house was not large enough for so many people. The Inn Manager, Tricia, went above and beyond catering to our large unruly, and sometimes raucous group. She appeared to be everywhere taking care of our needs. We were very happy with our stay and Tricia helped make it great!

A nice stop for the night bt no WiFi in the Cabin

The service is great. The grounds and buildings are beautiful. We stayed in the \"Cabin\" and feel that it could be updated. The living room was beautiful and comfortable. We were able to have a fire using the wood that was left for us (matches were in a kitchen drawer). There were no fireplace tools for managing the logs once they were burning. That seems like a safety issue. One of the bedrooms has old carpet that is quite stained. Both beds were much too firm for our comfort and we were not able to sleep well. We also could not figure out the thermostat and it was very hot all night long. The entire apartment was very clean except the alcove where the washer and dryer used to be which had a fair build-up of dust bunnies. The tub is clean but from the 70's and should be updated to keep with the charm of the rest of the property. We were there just for one night along our route. If we were to stay longer I'm quite sure the property manager could have helped with the temperature issue and we could have managed the firm beds but there was one quite major issue... WiFi. The site has WiFi but we could not get a signal in the \"Cabin\" and I was unable to get any work done while there.

Check in was very difficult. Not only were we locked out of the reception desk but other member of the hotel were as well. It’s an old building so it’s full of charm but also the walls are very thin so I’d recommend bringing earplugs

Beautiful colonial Inn

The Inn is amazing rustic clean full of history. The location is a bit tough to get in to it’s not the most convenient to figure out especially if your coming for the first time if your doing a late check in. But by morning’s light you can see the layout.

Take caution of the original wood planks on the floors I actually cut my heel.

But if you live history set in a rural beautiful setting in a quaint town RBI’s is the place.

The breakfast they offer is amazing. Bottled water free coffee readily available all the time.

Inn Keeper needs a little training

So, let’s start with the good……the property was absolutely beautiful. The rooms have a rustic feel, and were very nice. Bonus was that every room had AC which was nice since the night we stayed was 90 degrees….we slept very comfortably. The Inn Keeper gave us a great recommendation for dinner at the Mill Hill Tavern, and it did not disappoint. What was disappointing was the morning we were checking out……we signed up for breakfast at 9:30 and were looking forward to a nice breakfast before checking out. However at 9:30, the entrance to the main office was locked……we called the 2 phone numbers for the Inn Keeper and both went to voicemail. We left several messages with no response. At about 10am we had given up on breakfast and were just trying to locate someone to checkout. We learned that the Inn Keeper was fast asleep in her room (on premises) with her alarm blaring so loud we could hear it from outside. A grown adult doesn’t oversleep until past 10am with an alarm blaring unless they’ve tied one on pretty hard the night before. I found this very unprofessional and sort of ruined an otherwise great stay. I went from….I can’t wait to come back here…..To……I’d never recommend this place to anybody…..all in a matter of minutes. It was a shame, because the property is gorgeous and has lots of potential. We all make mistakes, but the service was disappointing. We never did hear back from the Inn Keeper.

No one was available for Check in I called and left a message about 15 minutes later woman showed up she didn’t know we were even there we had wandered through the building looking for someone The copy of the invoice which I paid online through Expedia she gave me a copy and it was much less than what I paid and I asked and she said oh that’s our software error I’ll print you another one later no problem

The one she brought to the room and said that she would need a credit card when I asked for what she said because you have to pay for the room I showed her the receipt from Expedia and the debit from my card through my bank and she asked if I could forward her a copy of that so I did. She said Expedia was incorrect for charging me they’re not supposed to charge me until after I check out

The TV in the room did not work we had a call about that the floors were dirty the bathroom was very dirty the tub I would not use I don’t think it’s been cleaned in a long time when we went to bed I pulled the comforter back and I found two dead bugs in my bed the person I was staying with found a live bug crawling on their leg

At 11:30 pm I called the phone number for the person who monitors the hotel I got no answer so we checked ourselves out and I sent her an email explaining why we were leaving and we drove all the way home because we couldn’t find another hotel near where we were visiting.

I would not recommend staying there

Room was dirty, toilet absurdly noisy and was kind of broken, lamp right outside of window shining through window all night, said there would be no breakfast because the health inspector was coming any day (disconcerting...), gave us two $5 gift cards to dunkin donuts to make up for a bed and breakfast not having breakfast, one of the cards was invalid, coffee machine in common space didn't have any water in it. Anyways, it was shocking how bad our visit was.

We were unable to stay because my friend was not feeling well. The stairs were too much of a challenge and the room was too warm. The WiFi and phone were not working and we could hear the people in the next room. The place is a bit run down. To get ice you have to leave the house the room was in and go to another building. They do not offer breakfast as advertised. They give you a $5 gift card per person to a Duncan Donut someplace. Nothing was explained, but we didn’t even stay because my friend felt terrible and she could not get comfortable enough to rest. I just made the long drive home instead of staying the night. We also gave back the gift cards when we left. I asked if I could speak to a manager about our situation, but none was there. The young lady working the desk was just filling in for someone and couldn’t answer our questions.

We stayed at the mill for one night in late July. The Inn is a lovely cluster of old buildings with a tiny stream, a fire pit, a patio area with cafe tables, and old mill stones built into the foot paths.

Everyone was nice and quick to give tips for where to eat and do.

The on-site restaurant was closed accept for breakfast in the morning which was included.

The location is great as well. Hope itself is small and nice to walk around and there are lots of great trails and parks nearby like Waterloo Village. Blairstown and Hackettstown have breweries and restaurants and it’s not far to Delaware Water Gap, Washington Crossing, Frenchtown, and Clinton.

I’d definitely stay here again.

Ugh. Never again.

The check in was a NIGHTMARE. we arrived around 7pm. In the dark, poorly lit entry - door to registration was locked, envelope with key in an outside mailbox.
Directions were difficult to read (illegible cursive) and incomplete /unclear. There was a key, but no room number!
We literally went from building to building, room to room-- trying to find a door that would open.
The phone # on the reservation, \"not set up.\"
20 minutes later: divine intervention. One of the hotel employees happened to come by, and she was able to help us find our way.

But by then - there was no turning back on it being a bad experience. Room was clean, but tired & worn. Tiny soap. Tiny! TV was smaller than my computer monitor & we couldn't figure out how to turn it on!
Coffee machine in the \"parlor\" only spurted cold water. The breakfast the next morning... cereal, no (fresh) milk. Apples & oranges. Going from floor to floor to find a working coffee machine (none in dining area).

This could be so easily fixed!
* a little map included in the envelope for late arrivals.
* better lighting - to find our way in the dark, see the (tiny) number on a key.
* a working coffee machine on each floor.
* empty the trash in the common areas - so it's not overflowing on the floor.
* check & discard expired milk!
* in the dining room - there's a whole breakfast set up... Take it down! We get it, covid. But it's October. We don't need to see what \"could have been\" for goodness sake.

The staff were very nice but my stay was disappointing.
1.the address on Expedia is incorrect and it is 30 mils away from the real inn. So we had to drive about 40 miles extra to get there.Cleaneness
2. We got there around 6pm and my reservation was for the quadruple room. I was given the key by the girl at the desk and when we got to the room
The queen bed was made but the loft where my kids room was were not made and the room was a mess with video tapes on the floor carpet old and dirty. I called the front desk and the girls came up with the linen and did the beds. Only to find out the next day that house keeping was not included and you need to request for your bed to be made and garbage to be emptyied
3. The room was not safe for kids as part of the loft railing was missing and there was a huge column very close to the queen bed you need to watch out not to hit it if you get up at night.

Best Bed and Breakfast in New Jersey!!!

This place is an amazing historic gem. The manager and staff were so nice and accommodating. Top notch customer service. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. Beds were comfortable. All the amenities you could ask for. They provided disinfectant spray, have sanitizer and masks in case you forget or need to re stock. The location was perfect. Can’t wait to visit again!!!!
