This place is in desperate need of update! Walls are paper thin it was impossible to sleep with the man in the room next to me screaming at the tv. The conjoining room had a gap at the bottom of the door and the person sleeping in that tonight as well have been in my room with how loud they were talking and then snoring

This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve experienced. We booked this trip as a stress-relieving getaway and instead dealt with constant issues.

We were initially placed in a run-down room with visible ceiling damage and a large hole in the bathroom wall that appeared intentionally hidden from guests. Disturbing noise from a neighboring room forced us to request a room change early the next morning.

While the front desk associate who helped us was kind and accommodating, the issues continued. The hot tub in the pool room was cold and visibly dirty. We reported it and were told maintenance would be notified, but nothing was resolved.

We also tried to book spa services more than 24 hours in advance, including a stress package and a signature facial, and were told these services were not offered, despite being advertised on the hotel’s website and in on-site materials.

Aside from one helpful front desk employee and the manager at the River Room restaurant, hospitality across the property was lacking. Management never followed up despite multiple emails. Due to the repeated issues, we left a full day early and were not offered any refund or adjustment.

This property does not reflect what is advertised, and I would not recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing stay.

Old world Charm!!

We stayed here for New Year’s with three families and had such a great experience. The location is incredibly convenient—close to everything. We went tubing during the day and came back to so many fun activities for the kids, including the indoor pool and a fantastic New Year’s party.

The staff truly made our stay special. Brian at the front desk went out of his way to help one of our friends who booked later than the rest of us stay in the main hotel rather than being placed in the other building, which was a bit of a walk. We were beyond thrilled and so appreciative.

The on-site brewery was another highlight—the pizza was amazing and such an easy option for families. We also want to give a huge shout-out to a hotel worker named Marc (I believe that was his name), who was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond and was genuinely kind.

Highly recommend this hotel for families traveling with kids looking for a quick, easy, and fun getaway. We will definitely be back!

The Shawnee inn put us to the off-campus building that is not on the main building. This building was more like super 8 or other cheap motel style. We weren't very happy about this but since their bed quality was great, we ended up ok with it

I expected to stay in room at main resort instead my family of 12 was placed in run down inn dirty loud air condition/heat unit with no water pressure and hot water. Floor was dirty. We could not take advantage of indoor pool because not practical to walk to outside room in cold weather. Caroling and cookies not worth 10.00 pp you get stale old cookies and Swiss Miss hot chocolate with warmed tap water. No motivation to sing maybe one person sang. Our car tire got damaged while we parked car at Delaware Lodge. A screw got caught in tire. It is now 12:30pm still driving around looking for a repair shop. Everything went wrong this weekend at this Inn. I do want to commend Iris who listened with empathy to my issues with room and offered a form of service recovery. She was very professionally and kind. Thank you iris.

Old school hospitality at it's best. This is the 10th year in a row my family has stayed over Thanksgiving break and something we really look forward to. The Christmas tree lighting with caroling in the lobby really took it to the next level. Keep up the great work Shawnee!

A high step was required to go into the bathroom. Rooms are really small. Walls are thin and you can hear everything. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable. We stay for a high school reunion in early October. Such a lovely time to be there. Nice event held on the premises and it turned out great. Many things to do in the area as well. Although most rooms are small, we paid more for a double & I was happy we did although a bit loud near the elevator. Bathroom trips require a step up if you have elderly people, keep that in mind. Bed was super comfortable, you pay for breakfast on site if you want that & the in-room coffee needs a better system. There is a brewery on site that had music and a little pub restaurant a quick walk away. All in all, I loved this historic hotel even though not 5 star at all!

Upon arrival after check in time, my room was completely filthy, beds were undone. Reception and management were not at all accommodating or helpful and rude. We had a family member join us that wanted to book a room, they informed us that they were fully booked. When we called the main number there were rooms available. Overall, I’d say we will not be returning.

Celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary at The Shawnee Inn . The service, the food and our beautiful upgraded suite were just awesome. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner out on the veranda with stunning views of the Delaware river.. took a property tour in a golf cart, relaxed by the bonfire, making s’mores. They have a brewery right on site. They just redid their indoor swimming pool. We truly love this place and can’t wait to return..

The main property is beautiful. They said our room was not in the main hotel but down the road. It looked like an old storage building that they made into rooms. We were only staying one night so it was going to be ok. We got inside and the fire alarm was sitting on the microwave. I felt if this place caught on fire we wouldn't know. Shower had no hot water at all.

We only stayed one night, so I cannot speak to the amenities nor the entire property. However, I have vacationed at Shawnee many times and decided to book a night’s stay off of my prior experience. Unfortunately, we were given a room in the lodge, which is a building located before the main inn and it resembles a large trailer. The parking was accessible and convenient. The building’s back and main doors were not locking properly. The room was comfortable but old. The housekeeping of the room was not up to standard. The mini fridge had the prior guests food still in it. The bed, although was clean and comfortable, the bedding was untucked, giving a look of untidiness, and the extra blanket looked used and not freshly laundered. The bathroom was newly renovated and the shower was lovely. The price for this room should not be priced the same as the main inn. The whole building needed renovating not just the bathroom. I did not complain because it was only one night, but I would have definitely been very unsatisfied if this was my room for a vacation.

We really loved our visit and had been looking forward to it for years as my wife and I fell in love here many years ago. However, we were in room 110 and it was extremely noisy until around 2 AM. Completely understandable until around 10 or 11 PM, but it went on far too long as a huge group of golfers were on the front porch all night. This was a shame and while we will come back to Shawnee again, this experience may result in us staying elsewhere next time.

The museum was cool. Overall the Shawnee Inn is old. Much of the property could use some renovations. Our room in particular had a mirror and shelf in the bathroom that were both coming off the wall. The metal in the bathroom was rusty. Our bed rail popped off when we sat down one night. The air conditioner wasn’t working properly so we opened the window…there was no screen but our room was hot.

The flip side…Shawnee Craft Brewing was spectacular! We ate there 2 nights and it was delicious…the food and the beer! Highly recommend!

We ended up not in the main building. It was in poor condition, had no closet but had a new bathroom. The shower was to small and I’m not a big person. I would not go back. I got sick after eating diner the first night. Don’t know if it was a virus or food poisoning.
I must say the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. They were truly the best part of our stay.

The resort was beautiful but we had a slight inconvenience while checking out. We had booked our room through expedia but the resort did not get the reservation. Due to this reason,during check in we were given a different room for one day and the staff asked us if we could move to a different room for the next two days. We agreed but we were not informed about an additional cost for the room shift. So when we were checking out this was news to us and it would have been better if the staff had informed us beforehand about the extra charge.

There was no indication from the booking that we would not be staying in the main hotel. The Delaware Lodge was clean, but not well kept and there were groups of men staying there who were loud and partying in the hallway both days. The bathroom was updated, but the bedroom had no closet and a very tiny table with an old wooden chair as the only place to sit.

The golf course was beautiful, but we booked 18 holes for Friday and someone recorded it as 9 holes for Saturday. Luckily, we were able to play 9 holes on Friday.

It was built in 1911 and the property is really cool, but they have done a poor job at updating and keeping up with regular maintenance. The Delaware lodge is gross. Room renos were done in 2022, but the building was in bad shape with roof leaks and water damage on ceilings and walls. We moved to the Main Inn. There the hallways smelled, the drop ceilings were dingy and had water damage, the carpets were tattered, and they painted over wallpaper that is peeling. Once in the room, it had a renovated bath, flooring, paint, and new headboards. A coffee maker, big TV, and small fridge were provided. The beds were new and comfortable. On first impression the room looked nice, but after sitting in it for a while we noted the poor quality workmamship in the painting. There was paint on the picture frames, curtains, windows and moldings. Our air conditioning went out after midnight on our last night, making for a miserable sleep. Walls throughout the Inn were beat up and chipping everywhere and there was paint all over the restaurant floor where it was obvious no drop clothes were used. We tried to enjoy a fire outside and staff refused to give more wood just before 10:00. The Italian food was amazing, front desk staff was accommodating, and hotel staff great. Golf got rained out and rain checks were given. There is potential for this resort to be amazing and I know it was in its heyday, but they need to hire a new painter and pay better attention to small details.

This is an wonderful, old hotel--it is right on the Delaware River and is a piece of history. The bed had only one nightstand and was hard to get in and out of on one side. It would be so easy to put two small nightstands in the room, and I am guessing it isn't the only room with this issue. That means no reading lamp, either. That said--the hotel is a tad worn, particularly in the hallways, but the restaurants are modern and nice--the food, good--and the site, amazing.

Main building is nice. Stay'd in a double queen room which was in a different building closer to the entrance. Room itself was fine. Around the building was an abandoned house with ALOT of garbage everywhere. That made it look alittle run down. Overall it was good and i would return.
