We stay at this property at least once a month. We decided to stay in the Main Inn. Room was extremely small, no thermostat and the heat was pumping. Had to open the windows to cool off the room. Some paint peeling on the ceiling. Lack of electrical outlets and nightstands. Other buildings are definitely kept in better condition.

It was a sub-par stay. We got there when it was dark and had no idea where to go to check in. Wandered around for a little while because the property is so big. When we got in the room there was dead bugs on the windowsill and carpet. Another time we got home from dinner and there was a stinkbug on my clothes. Irritating but kind of unavoidable in these winter conditions and it being such an old building. All of the staff were great! Every interaction was very helpful and they were all inviting. That is besides the buffet staff who seemed like they would rather be anywhere else. Was weird and predatory (for tips) that they gave us a check at our complimentary (free) breakfast. Paid good money to be here, so should their staff!! Staff/owners should not rely on tips for a breakfast that is free. There is no dumpster on the property, had to leave trash with the restaurant staff who was very very helpful. What kind of restaurant/hotel doesn’t have a dumpster??? The pool and hot tub were very nice but there werent any towels there. Had to bring our towels from the room, they’re hotel towles, they suck. Overall a good stay for the weekend. The staff was the light in the tunnel for me.

Oh boy…The place…It was pretty. If you’re looking for a cozy place with a warm fireplace though, you’ll get the ambiance but not the heat (gas fireplace). Hot chocolate was the best we’ve had!

The website promoted buffet breakfast. Buffet it turns out was only Sundays. Times not indicated on website which made it tough to plan our mornings. The site said scones and muffins with coffee available. There was only coffee.

Seafood buffet advertised for Friday nights and Italian buffet advertised for Saturdays. Same amount of each type and many of the same items both nights. Not sure why that’s promoted that way.

The site advertised a full service spa,massages etc. Some staff insisted there was no spa..yet other staff said yes and one even gave me the number. I left a voicemail…I had also emailed before our trip and never got an email back…I eventually did…also didn’t get a call back..bottom line is that there’s a spa that only does hair and make up I THINK (?)….

The shower is extremely small. Water pressure and temperature was good. Bring your own soap and shampoo, no soap lather. On second thought shower when you get home. You probably won’t fit in the shower. Room was FREEZING. Had to ask twice for heat to be increased.

Staff vacuumed at 6:30 am and were very thorough…I know because I heard them move furniture. It almost drowned out the snoring we heard in next room. It was hard to sleep.

Food was good. FYI there is no elevator. Property was nice. Beautiful views.

Spent 3 nights at the stroudsmoor country inn. Wonderful hospitality, all the staff is very helpful, kind and engaging. Breakfast was included in my staying and absolutely delicious. I stayed at the Main inn. Rooms are clean, many amenities from warm rooms, swimming pool, jacuzzi, fitness room, apples, coffee, teas along the corridors, buffet brunch on Sunday’s and all the outdoor offers hikes and beautiful views on the poconos. Very happy with my staying at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn.

The hostess, an older woman with long, dyed hair, was extremely, shockingly rude. The front desk ran out of towels. The hallway outside our room had a funky smell. The walls were very thin and we could hear everything going on next door. The breakfast was very basic, the pancakes were a disappointment, and the service was very slow because I believe they were understaffed. One thing I liked, though, was the indoor pool - it was very nice.

My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The thermostat in the room was not working, and the room was uncomfortably cold. To make matters worse, the bathroom was full of bugs. This lack of basic comfort, cleanliness, and responsiveness made the stay very unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel.

When we got to the pool, there were many kids being wild and screaming. When the kids were leaving, the owner came over to my wife and I and told us that he would keep the pool open for an extra hour to compensate for our inconvenience. He paid for our drinks that we brought to the pool area and then even dimmed the lighting and allowed us to have the entire pool area to ourselves. We’ll never forget the hospitality shown to us on our stay.

We were enjoying our stay until the last day of our stay ,the heater stop working .We called and the staff were fast but they could not make the heater to work .We have to be in a cold room that evening. They did turn on the fireplace for us but its was still 54degress inside the suit .Other then that it was ok ,hope if the place could of resolved it or if they could 9f give us a discount for that night .

Loved this inn! Visited over Christmas break with my family. Stayed in a Ledgemere Suite which was quaint and lovely. Really liked the spacious accommodations, the private deck and being able to park right in the front of our suite and just off load our bags. We felt like we were in a Hallmark movie with the snow fall. Grounds are beautiful. Staff was lovely. We especially loved Dominique in the breakfast room. The breakfast was amazing, better than the runny eggs you get in a corporate hotel. It was all made to order. Downtown Stroudsburgh were 5 minutes away so eay to get to many places to eat out. We never had dinner or lunch at the Inn. About 15-20 minutes from Camelback and Kalahari. On our last day we woke up to no head and hot water! Thankfully we were checking out but I can imagine for the guests with ongoing stays, it would be a huge pain.

The Inn was in a convenient location and had a nice setup for breakfast and the pool, however the actual room we had in one of the cottages was disappointing. The thermostat didn’t work properly both nights of our stay making sleep very uncomfortable and the first night we had the smoke detector in the hallway beeping all night because it was low on batteries. This appears to be a nice venue for weddings/parties and the restaurant was good, however I would not recommend for an overnight stay.

What stood out is that they didn't use toxic chemicals to clean the rooms. I was finally able to breathe and relax. I also like the courtesy and hospitality of the housekeeping staff. It is a beautiful old large property run by an old familycalledperonis the Peyronie's property

Property was easy to find, even on a rainy night. Check in was ok, but staff was pretty vague when answering questions. Room was not great at all; reminded me of a motel 6 from the 80’s. Shower head was grimy, shower curtain was torn and didn’t allow for much space in the shower, hair on the wall, and no bath/shower soap provided. Toilet was so small, suited for little kids only and I’m not a tall or large person. Bed was honestly the worst I’ve slept in at a hotel/motel in years, felt like laying on a box spring. Room was very cold on a cold night when I entered the room, but heater did work and it warmed up in 20 minutes. Floor and chairs didn't look clean and overall I was just uncomfortable. I was in room 38, which was a cabin that others had noted were better than regular rooms in other reviews, but I would not recommend anyone sleeping here if that’s the best they have. The grounds and exterior are very pretty and well kept. The indoor pool area looked amazing and I wish I had time to enjoy that amenity. Breakfast was very good compared to most hotel’s continental offering. Staff didn’t seem very friendly, even at the restaurant, but that seems to be the vibe in this area in general, so probably just typical of the locals. If they update the rooms, it may be worth visiting, but I would never sleep here again the way it is now, sadly as I was very excited about his hotel when I first booked.

Very impressed with pool, hot tub, room, reception and common areas. My only complaint is that the music in the restaurant was not appropriate. For a room with a touch of elegance ( table cloths, proper table setting, etc ) the music should have also had a touch of sophistication. It did not. The music would be ok in a local cheap eatery, but not there. Food, however, was excellent.

The bathroom had mold in it The carpet in the room was very old and stained the HVAC was very noisy. There were no accessible outlets for charging electronics. The bathroom was very small and it had a tub and shower curtain rather than sliding doors. The room decor was very dark.

We stayed in one of the cottages. It was spacious with a balcony, mini frig and coffee maker.The cottages are built on an incline, but there are many other choices if walking uphill is a problem. There is a great indoor pool and exercise room. A sit down breakfast in a lovely dining room is included with fresh fruit cup, muffins, scones, and a menu selection with about 5 choices made to order. Stephanie will definitely keep your coffee cup filled. This place is wonderful for a midweek getaway. Bushkill Falls is not far and antique stores, museums, and just the beauty of the Pocono area. Stroudsmoor is a wedding venue so it is very busy on weekends. Its only an hour from north Jersey. This is a family owned business and the hospitality of everyone we met was warm and welcoming.

Stayed at the Inn. It is old, and the wall air conditioning unit had a very bad odor that saturated the bed sheet too. Mentioned this it to the receptionist on check out to look into since I couldn’t sleep all night with the smell. bathroom vent also needs cleaning. Beds are very soft. Bathroom otherwise has newer shower and sink which is adequate. Breakfast was nice and plentiful, more healthy options like oatmeal and avocado would be nice additions. Would stay again after checking room first to ensure AC unit not a problem. Hiking trail was nice. Area is quite and pretty

We had the loveliest time here! After check in we sat and had a drink on our private balcony in the Ledgemere Suites which overlooked the woods as far as we could see. We swam in the pool and enjoyed the hot tub. Our room was spacious and the whirlpool tub was relaxing. We did not want to leave. The bed was very comfortable.

Okay, but not worth another stay

The inn rooms are up a flight of stairs and there is no elevator. The staff did carry my bag up and down, as I was injured. Room was pleasant, bed comfortable, 2 windows but no view. The tub faucet dripped, there was no stopper for the tub. No coffee station. I was told I needed a dinner reservation to eat there, latest available was 6:30. In the vast dining room, one table was occupied when I arrived, 2 couples came later than 6:30, no more than 3 tables were ever occupied. There was no listing of wines by the glass, I was just told what kinds were available. I ordered Pinot Grigio to be safe, it was dreadful. There is a very extensive salad bar. I ordered red snapper, the vegetables it came with had more flavor than the fish. A radio playing schmaltz was on in the dining room, Fox News blared in the bar. Both were turned off at my request. The early \"breakfast\" from 7-8 consisted of tasty blueberry muffins, apples, coffee in styrofoam cups with no milk or cream, just coffeemate. No plates, just tiny napkins. Fox News was blaring again. It felt like only certain kinds of people were welcome.

Room had terrible musky smell. Could not sleep had headache checked out at 0400. Room only had electric baseboard heater with no thermostat control inside room. No AC available. You can see wallpaper bubbling on the walls near windows. Went to front desk no one to be found. Called back late afternoon and requested manager to call me, no ever called. 200 bucks wasted.

What I didn't like- Our room didn't have a heating/cooling system. So. it was dead quiet plus too hot. We had to open our window to keep from being cooked. All night in 20 degree weather we had the window opened. Shower was awful Super crazy pressure in a cheap showerhead. The water was cold and painful by the time it hit you. All in all it was nice, but I most likely wouldn't stay again.

Room was cute and clean but mattress felt like sleeping on plywood. The tiny bathroom had no flat surfaces for placing anything, even the soap dish was so slanted the soap wouldn’t stay put. The tv had a weak signal and was very blurry/pixelated. We were disappointed and will likely not stay again.

Yes, it’s an older place, very quaint, yes, it could use an update but it was adequate for us for our purposes. All the women at the desk were professional and helpful, especially the friendly woman who greeted us Monday and held the door open for us to let us know we were in the right place. It’s a big place, and it was a relief to know we found the right building. I gave them credit for all the very helpful signs— not every facility understands the importance of signage.

I would not have put a king size bed in a room that small and I would’ve put more lights in there if I was the manager of the universe, which I’m not. My only problems were dragging an overpacked suitcase up the stairs and how long it took for the water to heat up in the bathroom. The bathroom was very modern.

We were the only other guests in the hotel besides a single. It made sense not to put out milk or cream for tea instead of the fake stuff.

It was quiet, it was isolated. Those are things I like in a hotel. The setting with all the oak trees was beautiful.

Yes, the next morning, the leaf blowers on the hillside with the trucks were obnoxious, but we were soon on our way out the door. We were headed out to pick up a new addition to the family so it was an exciting day!

We enjoyed our stay, we found the Irish pub in town, everyone was very friendly and helpful.
