The day to day staff i.e. servers were amazing. Pool time was pretty chill, however the pool needs cleaning. Cherry house rooms smelled bad, outdated furniture, etc. Was a big turn off. The night vlub scene was fun, however they need to have more LBGTQ events to attract bigger crowds.

I wanted to like this property. The lobby was cleanly/taken care of. The cherry house room we reserved was not. It reeked of cat pee and in the hallway and in the room. The water was cut off to the shower. The shower base was cracked. We chose to reserve a room elsewhere.

I've waited for over 6 months to tell this horror story. We were out east on vacation and were sort of unaware of schools being out and holiday, so we were flying by the seat of our pants as it pertains to booking hotels. We ran into a situation where we had to backtrack to eastern Pennsylvania. My girlfriend, who is very supportive of the LGBTQ community chose to book us a room there. The lobby seemed welcoming enough, along with staff. I should have seen the writing on the wall, when the smoke detector in the lobby was beeping, because the battery life was low.

We got to the room and to say that our eyes bulged out of my eye sockets, would be an understatement. What I first noticed, were the blinds looking half destroyed and the window being propped open by a TV remote control, with no batteries in it. Then there's the T.V, which had no coaxial cable running to it. So, what is one exactly paying for in this situation? Then there was the bathroom, with so much disgusting mildew on the tile of the shower floor, that I'm positive (had we stayed), my foot would have rotted off.

I sat on the bed and literally said nothing, as I couldn't believe that we had just dropped $100 dollars on this place. Let me correct this, that my girlfriend had paid. At that point, I'm looking for any other things that just screamed negligence, and there it was, the smoke detector which was totally missing. Wow! Do, I dare talk about the activity going on outside of our room? Use your imaginatio

We stayed for 1 night for a concert. So we checked in and slept. Fast,friendly, clean and affordable. We had a cabin, very cute, they were obviously still in the process of renovations. I would definitely stay again. Check in wasn't until i think 3 but since we were Going to the festival they let us check in at 12 which was super nice of them.

Let me start by saying we stayed her many yesrs ago and had a great time but now new owner .Not as gay friendly as the owner want you to think property in ni very inviting they try to be friendly but i can feel they are not ..theres no pride its a lgbtq property but tge new owner not its just not as gay griendly as it use to be the food was not good they tried but miss the mark big time. Will not stay again ...but meet really ...there no pride the flags they hung from a lot if diffrent country and one rainbow flag no pride no pride nice people we meet we all agree and that what made it a good trip

After reading the reviews I was Leary. Unfortunately they were right no hot water. Even after letting the water run 20 minutes like they told us to. Didn’t matter much cause our cabin #70 only had a trickle coming out of the shower anyways. We ended up moving to the Days in. What a nice hotel.

I can’t believe Expedia does business with this place…. Appearances can be deceiving . The lobby check-in area looks five star soon as you leave that and they send you out because the rooms are in different locations around the property. Wow I hope I don’t offend anybody but I don’t think a crackhead would stay there. I should’ve listen to the reviews.

The staff was friendly and hospitable, but the resort was very clearly understaffed. There were one or two employees who seemed to run the show with multiple responsibilities. The wait times for food from the bistro kitchen were terribly long, and the food came out lukewarm. The servers were busy and un-attentive...we had to ask for everything, right down to the ice water.
The facilities were outdated and in terrible condition. The heating in my cabin stopped working twice, as the breaker/circuit kept shorting. My friends also had issues with heating and plumbing in their rooms. Perhaps in the peak of summer this place has a better staff to take care of things, but overall we were underwhelmed and decided to just make the best of our stay. Next time we'll likely do our research and head somewhere else for a getaway.

The pictures do not represent the reality of the property.
It says it's a 'resort' but our room was a motel/cabin room that had no windows in the front.
There was an event that weekend for Crossdressers/Transgender folk, which we found out about when we arrived. I have no problem with people doing their thing but it's not our thing so it was awkward to be there. We left and I have had no success connecting with Travelocity to get a refund.

We were not expecting much for the price, but… At least hot water (they rigged the shower so it doesn’t give you hot water just lukewarm) and NO HEAT (AC only). Staff was nice and apologetic but extremely slow for dinner/breakfast. We missed the club, so we only stayed for the night. Your stay is literally just a small ROOM and bathroom with paper thin walls. We stayed at the Cherry Room Lodge, which looked like a two-family house converted to a bunch of rooms. You will hear everyone going in and out.

It was such a disappointment as there is a community out there who would book this kind of resort, but the poor service and lack of basic amenities really dissuades us from coming back again. Do not expect: a fridge, microwave , hairdryer, warm blankets - not anything really.

We were very disappointed with the condition of the property. We had a king room which looked nothing like the rooms shown on their site. The room was poorly lit…one lamp in the entire room with a 15 watt bulb. Unable to read in the room and depressing to be in. Air conditioning did not work at night. Bathrooms appeared to be recently renovated but a 1/2 assed job. Tile work seemed unfinished. Hole in the door and peeling rusty pain on door frame. Safety latch on the door to the room was broken making us feel very unsafe. Staff had very limited proficiency of the English language. No pool towels. Our room was supposed to have a refrigerator per the description on the website. Ours did not have one. Minimal food. Night club was depressing. 10 people in the whole club. Pool chaises dirty and broken. Really a shame. The place has such potential but it’s clear that the people who are running the place don’t know what they are doing and don’t care to do the simplest things to make their guests feel welcome. I would not recommend the Rainbow Mountain Resort.

Bed was un firm used an abused... stairs the get to room was unsafe. Wood stairs boars were not secured.. also with green mold. Place did not have disabled people's access.. never in a life time, I saw nothing worst..considering that as a former marine, I had seen horrible places...

The manager was verbally abusive, and told me \"YOU HAVE TO LEAVE\", right after I put down ZERO as tip, for poor service. He yelled/screamed at me, in the public pool area. If he wanted me to leave all he had to do was ask to speak to me, like a gentleman, and I would have left. I actually filed a police report with PA State Police.

Friends were given a HARD time when they ordered Take-Out Delivery- were told they should be eating in their restaurant which is OVERPRICED! Prob why it's usually EMPTY!! At least the litter is getting picked up now! Last time I was there it would sit around for days!

My friends and I booked this trip in an attempt to replace previous experiences at the Raven in New Hope PA which has since been bulldozed. Our experience here is one we'll never repeat. The room was a tiny shack with no shower curtain, no trash cans, not enough towels for each guest, no hooks for towels, and extremely shabby (**with ZERO chic). The food was unpalatable. The hot tub looked like a petri dish. The drinks were mediocre. The worst part? It was WILDLY overpriced. Perhaps this would have been a funny, weird weekend away, except that it cost us the same as a NYC hotel room with zero perks. Deeply disappointed. Will never go back.

I stayed in the cherry house with my girlfriend and It was really nothing for me to like the room was smaller than I expected The room had like 2 socket in it. I had to get a extension cord so I could plug all my stuff in the TV was a 32 inch. But that wasn’t that bad my biggest problem was I had nowhere to keep my food and drinks cold when I got in the unit there was no fridge no microwave. So I had to get a cooler. I couldn’t heat up none of my food because there’s no microwave in the room. There was dust on the AC. There was dust on the base of the bed the baseboards. The floors was dirty. And they don’t have fitted sheets on the bed and when I asked for one they said they don’t have them. The mattress has stains on it. The pillows had stains on them. And when I was checking out at 12, there was nobody at the desk to greet me so I can give my room key. And before I checked out at 12 o’clock, the water in my room all without. so I couldn’t flush the toilet or nothing once it hit 11:45

Place was so dirty with ants and bugs crawling everywhere. The photos on the website are deceiving as the room doesn't look anything like what it shows on the website. The place we had was a shed. The foundation of the place looked very scary. We walked right out as soon as we saw the ants. It was very disgusting. Made me want to puke. The service desk acted as if he was hearing this 1st time when I saw other reviews, most commented the same. I regret not taking a picture of it to show here. It was unbearable to stand there long enough to take pics . Absolutely terrible. We requested to cancel our reservation and get refund. The hotel became unresponsive to compensate our money for the inconvenience as we had to look for another booking at the last minute. Please please please avoid this place. Not sure how this resort is still standing and active.

Was hoping for a nice cabin getaway, however, this place seems very rundown and unkept. We checked in and the front desk reps were really nice. Then we drove down to our room. Cannot be up to code. To begin with there is no lock on the door, aside from a simple keyed turn doorknob.

Toilet didn’t flush, shower handle came off in my hand, hot water took so long that I didn’t believe there would be any, wear flip flops in the shower, dry off with the thinnest cardboard towels, no mattress cover, no fitted sheet - just a flat sheet draped over the bed, super old comforter smelled no mirror in the bathroom and no where to put anything down in there - not that I would want to, floorboards have gaps..

The heat: it is early March and it was actually freezing. So I went to turn up the thermostat. It wasn’t getting warmer. That is when I realized it was the baseboard heaters getting blocked by the sheer curtains hanging in front of it, so tied it in a knot to let the heat dissipate. Then saw the new split (also a very old built in wall AC unit) and turned it on. It was great. Finally warm.

Go to turn on the tv. That batteries didn’t work. So I opened the remote and the batteries were full in corroded. I managed to get them out and clean it up. I took the batteries out of the split remote and now had a working not-smart tv.

We went to check out at 9am and the office was closed. When I checked in they hadn’t given me back my license. Went to pick it up and I very calmly listed the major things wrong and the need for batteries- go an apathetic “ok”.

No mat to clean shoes, tra c king salt in on hardwood floor. I hung out a t room 101 . Heater on wall ran entire time. Too hot not energy efficient. No insulat I on or sound deadener in walls. Neighnor was very loud stepping heavily in loud boots up n down steps . There was a kid loud runni g around , thankfully not boots. .Lobby is nice. No lesbians to be found. Remote don t work tv . Staying at RM works for me because it’s safer for me to not drive after partying at “The Barn”. My main complaint about the room I stayed in is the mirror in the bathroom. It’s pretty much useless for putting on makeup! Luckily I brought a battery operated makeup mirror!
If u do plan on staying at rainbow mountain and putting on makeup, definitely BRING YOUR OWN LIGHTED MAKEUP MIRROR!

I was informed that they had a television and Internet when I got there the television didn’t work and the Internet was only in the clubhouse and not in the rooms I had to do work so I didn’t even spend the night I left with 3 hours after I arrived. Expedia was not any help in trying to get a refund so I had to dispute the charges on my credit card. I don’t know if I can trust Expedia anymore.

The place has so much potential. The cabins just need a renovation and they’d be adorable. There was no heat and it was in the 30’s at night, my bf and I were freezing! Check out is 1pm which is great but we left 8am because we were so cold. Also, it could’ve been cleaned better prior to arrival. I will not be staying here again

How do I begin, first of all the property only had 2 employee working at checking then them same 2 employees move to the restaurant and if I had a issue the same 2 employee answer the phone, however the main issue I had was my original room the toilet did not had running water as well food long pieces of hair in the beds, they did gave me another room which was worse the room bathroom did not had running water at all as well the room very dirty went I informed reception they just make fun of me. Please make sure to stay away from this property the worse experience of my life!!!!😔😞😩😫

I have been to the resort many times , but between the last time I was there and this time it went under new management and it was a horrible experience the resort was nearly empty and took over an hour and a half for a couple of hamburgers then when they did arrive they weren’t anything we order. And at dinner time it was even worse we actually got and left after wasting another hour or so, and just as we were leaving the food came out and I’m glad we did leave because what was on those plates was fit for consumption, it was an all around horrible stay there we will never go back again…

Not What It Used To Be

I love Rainbow Mountain and have been going there for years. What this place lacks in amenities, it (used to) make up for in charm and a great sense of queer community spirit. However, the new owners are cutting corners and it shows.

I stayed at RMR last weekend with ~20 friends and multiple people had issues with toilets and showers not working. Many were moved to new rooms and one friend was told to move into a different cabin, only to be told to move again once that cabin had been rented. No one was offered anything for their inconvenience. It also looked as if they were mid-construction with many holes dug throughout the property.

A nice dinner used to be included in the price per room, which is no longer happening, and the dinner we ate left quite a lot to be desired. Food came out all times (with some apps arriving after we'd finished our entrees) and some of the food was nearly inedible. What used to be a fun communal dinner for the entire resort is now a sad, and quite pricey, excuse for a meal.

Lastly, there used to be a fun, chill karaoke bar under the club that is now used for storage. While this may seem trivial, it used to be a really fun space for the community and a nice respite from the techno club remixes above.

I understand new owners come with new changes, and the cost to run a business like this has undoubtedly increased in the past few years, but the changes that have been made recently gutted the charm of RMR. I don't think I'll be coming back.

This property is mis-represented by Expedia. As I was informed by the check-in representative (after I checked in and heard from a person in the community), it is a gay couples resort. This is not what I was looking for, as I was there with my daughter. I attempted to cancel and get a refund, since I would not be staying there, but they refused, even though my daughter was not even supposed to be on the premises. (I checked their website and no one under the age of 21 is permitted.)
When I booked it was marked as 3.5 stars, but the location was dirty and not in good working condition.
(NOTE: They did not ask the age of the person I was with when I checked in, so I was unaware of possible restrictions until I did my own research.)

I had a very scary situation, around 8:00pm someone tried to open my room door. I call the front desk and nobody answered the phone. I couldn’t sleep, I felt very sacred and decided to leave. I walked to the night club and informed an employee about what happened and he didn’t care.
It is a very unsafe hotel and obviously the manager don’t care. I called several times the front desk and nobody answered.
I left several messages and I haven’t received a call back from the manager.

The place is way overpriced. It is run down. Lots of potential though. Broken blinds, uncomfortable mattress, messed up faucet, dirty. Breakfast not ready at 9:00 am, black mold on butter, cream cheese presented in package, bagels in supermarket plastic bag. Etc.
Got an invoice indicating a credit cards that was not mine. Messy. Will not return.

We really had a great time! The service and bartenders were truly excellent! Everyone was friendly and happy to be there even the employees were genuinely happy and super polite. The ONLY things i would change.... is this whole place needs some sprucing... it was CLEAN but some things in disrepair. The blinds were bent and ratty looking and when the sun came up it was very bright. The toilet was very slow at flushing. The stools at the bar were wobbly and a little scary. The hot tub, which on the website said is open all year, was closed. Do not let this discourage anyone from going!! We met some great people and had a truly great time! Drinks were perfect and music and dancing was on point. We will be returning in June!!!

Shouldn’t have a resort in the name during the wintertime. None of the amenities we’re operating when we went. The hot tub was drained, the 2 inflatables were also drained, the nightclub wasn’t open, the bar was expensive, and the staff are either abused or not compensated properly (which shows). The cherry house units are tiny and dated! The carpets need replaced and the door to our unit had a crack that would make a plumber proud. We promptly turned our keys in knowing we’d not get refunded. To the credit of the staff, they did upgrade our room to the king suites down the hill. Things were interesting there too. The bathrooms were renovated, poorly. The shower pan lip had an appreciable angle to it, a faceplate was half screwed in, and the shower curtain wasn’t changed in several guest stays judging by the pink tint and mildew growing. The floors were poorly swept and were separating due to a prior leak. To help stop the splitting, a thin piece of trim was stapled to floor. The wall by the bed had handprints from previous occupant’s activities. The doors were also poorly secured. Past the physical property’s appearance, the management is clearly not compensated enough to care. You can see they know the place is run down and not cared for by the owner. Our bar tender that night has been working there for several weeks, but was unable to point the guest to the sauna. The king suites parking lot was an ice rink we had to shovel ourselves to get out of. Skip for winter.

This hotel does cater to the lgbtq community. I looked all over hotels.com and found no evidence. The front desk was great but as a general rule I don't put my support in that direction.

I was running behind so I called at 7 to let them know it would be a late check in and I stated I would be there at 10:30. At 9:45 I got a call asking what time I would be there and stating they might have to charge me a cancellation fee even though I called in advance.

Front desk was super nice but when I got to my room it was less than expected. Small room, tv only had one channel. Also expected a little more from bathroom. Pictures make it look super modern and contemporary but that wasnt the case. Think log cabin lodge that needs a bit more attention.

Overall for the rate, it was fine to rest my head for a night but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there.
