Staff was incredibly kind!! Room itself was clean, however there was a used bar of soap still in the shower. It was late and affordable rooms were few and far between as we were there for a cheer competition so we juat opted to NOT shower. The walls are VERY thin. One side of us was a very large dog who loved the sound of his own bark.The other side have company knocking on their door until 4a. The property itself is absolutely amazing. And we do plan on going back when renovations are completed

The room was clean the heater was perfect for the cold weather outside. Bed and sheets were clean no odor it smelled fresh and clean. Amenities were great no problems at all. Staff was nice and very friendly when we came to play pool and ping pong. Overall our whole week stay at Glenwood Inn was fantastic!

This is a unique place to stay. First off it's located behind an abandoned conference center so it's a bit confusing when you first arrive. It's the motel behind the large building. Hotel was clean and neat. I had no issues. It's reasonably priced and it was safe and convenient.

Renovated staff quarters on decrepit resort site. Clean. Okay place if you just need to spend the night. Walls are VERY thin. Free wifi. Heating unit works fast. Those concerned about security may not feel comfortable here: They give key on old key chain that lists room number. Lock is push-button type plus chain on inside. Minimal staffing, though they give a number to call. (Will need to use your own phone, as one not provided in room.) No coffee in am. Convenient to local amenities.

The hotel was not at all as advertised. The property was old and decrepit. The more recent renos were poorly done and only involved flooring. No bath towels were available, no telephone, no wifi (too weak a signal to hold), and the conference centre adjacent to the rooms should be condemned since it was not in use and clearly falling down. Overall, not at all in line with previous reviews that we read.

Upon arrival, this is a very interesting conference center. They definitely should disclose that their rooms do not look like the picture and that half of the property is pretty much abandoned, which I found fascinating but other people may not. I definitely wanna know the story as to why the other half is abandoned. The functioning part wasn’t terrible. The rooms are definitely very outdated. The woman at check-in was extremely sweet. There is no pool. It’s on the abandoned part.

This property was rather dirty overall. The heater didn’t work. We entered the room and it smelled like mildew in the room and on the bed. The water pressure was poor in the shower as well and was difficult to work (hard to pull out). There were some amenities (a couple towels, washcloths, and soap/shampoo and conditioner) but there were also 2 small packets of marmalade there which we didn’t bring in. Although the price was reasonable, the place could use some work in fixing some of the amenities and fixing some of the walls, and it should not smell like mildew in the room.

Chose this location for a last miniute solo trip as I had stayed here before. This property is older and is still under renovation. If all you need is a bed and shower after a long hike, this will do. Bring toiletries. There are no dining/pool facilities onsite, but dining is close. Close to hiking trails. Quiet.

The location is a little older, so it does have that ‘old building’ charm. The king room was spacious, clean, the area is nice and quiet, and the surrounding nature is quite lovely. The proprietor is very friendly and accommodating. The price was very affordable! Definitely worth checking out this spot if you’re driving through the area.

Historic Adventure in the Poconos

We like places with character. This Inn is full of it. Those interested in the history of tourism in the Poconos as we are will find this motel fascinating. A relic 1861 resort hotel
on the property along with evidence of its continued evolution into a 20th century resort and conference center abound. Now scaled back to a basic and comfortable motel catering to outdoor enthusiasts and budget minded travelers, it provided us with a quiet escape from the road. Walk to the restaurants and kayak/canoe center down the hill and enjoy the mountain views and access to trails and scenic roads. Our host was friendly and informative, working constantly to improve his unique property. Maybe not for the traveler looking for boring cookie cutter basics with easy on/off the interstate. Highly recommended for the traveler with a little sense of adventure and the enjoyment of quirkiness and surprise. We loved it!

It's a dump. The whole place looks like and abandoned army camp. Really shabby exterior. The \"office\" for check-in looks like a big rec room with a giant cross on one wall. The office guy barely spoke English. He didn't even have my last name on the reservation. He insisted we come back to him in the morning with the key for checkout. When we went to the \"office\" at 8:30 am, the door was locked, nobody inside. I hung our key on the door handle and took a couple of pix to confirm I had returned the key...room #54

The pictures show a convention center and are not accurate.It’s old. It’s ran down. The towels would fit a five year-old. The people were really nice. But the rooms were very dated. Heater didn’t work right so you were cold all night and out of the shower. Shower did have good pressure. It was a peaceful location.

The hotel is in a great location, hiking biking and paddling are all nearby. The local restaurants are great, like the Sycamore Grill and Village Bakery for breakfast and lunch.
The hotel is opening the pool in a few weeks, it is currently being renovated. Should open by early June, it is a outdoor pool with big deck and a hot tub. Tennis courts are nice too, Will come again for a 3 day weekend for more hiking, paddling and biking.

Found Glory In This Place 🙌

The experience was so amazing, I decided to stay... Forever. This was a spiritual journey for Me. My faith guided me to this beautiful, serene, almost heavenly place. I will be completely remodeling the entire Hotel. We currently have tennis courts, basketball court, ping pong tables, pool tables and our pool is under renovation. We will very soon be offering free breakfast in the morning. Our spaces will be very family-friendly. Has the renovation goes on we will be offering themed rooms. Rugrats, blues clues, and other artistic themes.

Words cannot describe how dissatisfied we were with our stay at Glennwood Inn & Conference Center. Despite the inaccurate and deceiving pictures posted, this place is an absolute pig trough. When staying multiple, consecutive nights, housekeeping DOES NOT clean your room, there are no simple amenities (refrigerator, microwave, etc.), our two-bed room was supplied with 1 bath towel and 2 wash cloths...THAT'S IT. When we asked for more towels and service, owner/manager rejected our request. DO. NOT. STAY. HERE. Work the overtime at your job the week prior and come to an elegant and exclusive hotel in New Jersey –– it is no surprise this hovel is in Pennsylvania. A mistake that we will not make twice! Let this be your warning!!

Although amenities had stated pool, hot tub and sauna, the clubhouse had burned down. I also had the floor in the room buckle in, had to turn my hot water on under the sink. The bathroom sink had a constant leak. Rooms were fantasticly clean, just had a musty smell. Very old property that is hurting for revenue to replace and rebuild. This place apparently had a fire in December 2024 and is only just starting to reopen. I figured something of the sort, because of the extremely low price, less than half what one-star hotels in the area were asking. The very friendly guy at the check-in told me the whole story.

Positives? Low, low price, at least right now (Feb 2025). Conveniently located. Clean. Comfortable. Good HVAC. Mini fridge in room.

Negatives? Probably due to construction, but the hot water in the shower was barely warm (and it's February). The TV didn't work. Oh, it turned on, but wasn't actually hooked up to any service. Construction equipment right outside the door in the morning (they're still clearing away a partially burned building). Luckily, I wasn't intending to sleep late. Absolutely no other amenities, no ice machine, no vending machines, and no staff that I ever saw except for the check-in guy who wasn't actually there. A sign instructs you to call him when you arrive.

I didn't mind any or the above, but I'm pretty sure someone looking for a family-stay or a romantic getaway would not have had the best of times. And, I really loved paying half price or probably even less than what they charged pre-fire.

Must have been nice back in the day.

A place that was shutdown decades ago and someone just opened a section of the property with buildings that remind me of 1940's military barracks where the hotel rooms are. Interior of rooms are rundown with very outdated furniture. The entry door is not plumb so there is no seal to outside draft coming through in winter temperatures. The heater is set up to not heat beyond 68 degrees, so that with the front door letting cold air in it is not comfortable at all. I have to say they did put in new floors which look nice, however I walked with some new slippers that have a light color bottom and I happened to notice they became black, and they had picked up lots of animal hair. So I assume the floors had not been mopped in a long time, and pets are allowed in the rooms. There's more to say that's not good but this should give you the idea that I will not be returning here.
The only good thing I have to say is that the guy that checked me in is really friendly and likable.

My stay was not bad. At first glance the area did look rundown due to their being a large abandoned building right next to the inn. But the receptionist was pleasant. The room was clean for the most part. There were some paint stains in the jacuzzi and the blinds could use some cleaning but other than that it was fine.

Was a little sad that we had a mini fridge but not a microwave. And the heating unit did take a little while to heat the room.

But overall the stay wasn’t bad. I’d def recommend this place if you’re looking for something a little more affordable and don’t need all the bells and whistles that main stream hotels offer.

This stay started out OK until a man dressed in street clothes, in a personal vehicle approached my girlfriend and told her she was considered an \"additional guest\" in a double room and that she would have to pay $20 cash in order to stay. It was a very strange encounter, we were given a refund and left. Expedia is also to blame as they advertise the double room for 2 guests, however they default to telling me the hotel may have its own policies. The property is near empty and verging on appearing totally abandoned bit we enjoyed that part and the rooms are clean. The property owner is intrusive, rude and way out of line. I have video of him telling me that he has my CC info and that he could charge whatever he wanted. He also claims that he doesn't accept Expedia reservations although he did for 2 out of 3 of our nights stays. All very strange and inconvenient. Find somewhere else to stay....although I cant imagine the doors to this place could be open much longer. Sad!

It's a hidden gem. It's actually a magnificent facility. Room was clean, sheets clean, bed tidy, water was hot and plenty of it and it's a short walk to the Appalachian trail head and downtown. The area is quiet this time of year and I enjoyed that.

The staff also stands out for their help and recommendations. I found everyone easy to talk to.

The inn was unexpected, I thought it'd be more hotel like. The room had a mildewy smell, the toilet was loose, the fawcet leaked/gushed water from behind and the room was cold. I chose this place based on the good reviews, which I learned are suspect, and that it says plain as day that it's fully refundable. It's not. Like the other reviewer said, the TV was so small and there were no channels and yes a hard blanket.

The pictures online must be for renovated rooms. Our room (35) was very outdated. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, the mattress was thin, the toilet wobbled, the entrance door rubbed against the frame and would screech every time we opened it and when we turned the heat on it smelled musty. Would not stay here again.

old property, big abandoned hotel/resort on the property, i wish i had the opportunity to explore it. its not a new or luxury motel, owner picked uo the phone whenver i called to let him know my eta. we got in around 10pm. its a mom and pop, not a chain, so dont expect 24 hour service. and its the cheapest game in town. judge it for what it is and you wont be disappointed.
