There was renovation work happening and work began at 8am. Even the heaviest of sleepers couldn't sleep through the noise. On the hotel website (thecouper.it) they were not taking bookings for the date of my stay - it states the hotel is closed from 17th September to the 31st December. I don't know why bookings are being taken through hotels.com if the hotel is supposed to be closed. It should absolutely be closed during this building work. I have videos of the noise and work being done there but it seems I can only upload photos on this review

Do not stay here! Lots of issues. More of a guesthouse, this is not a real hotel. Nice room photos but it stops there. No signage outside with no key for door other than wifi-passcode...another guest outside crying when we came back from late dinner as she had no signal. This guesthouse shares with offices in same building, dirty with mold in bathroom, water not draining in shower, not secure with easy access by public, bag storage in open hallway. Staffed only from 10AM-6PM (Cristina working desk was lovely and affirmed hotel has issues). EX: No hot water during our stay...AC not functioning, etc

This property needs A LOT of help. There is no signage outside of the building to understand where the hotel even is. You go through a nondescript door and take the stairs to the 2nd floor where there is a regular single door with a small sign of the hotel hanging from the door. Totally odd. They only have one person working the front desk from 10AM-6PM. Highly inconvenient hours for the guests. We also had a cold shower. No hot water when we stayed there. The hotel is in a partially active building with other businesses in the same building. The other portion of the building is rundown and not active. It did not make us feel safe staying here. There is no key given to open up the front gate after 6PM. You must put an app on your phone in order to open up the gate of this door. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Depending on whether their WiFi is working for your phone to be connected and use the app. The most ridiculous thing we've ever experienced at a hotel. We asked to get out of our stay a day/night earlier with refund. The manager did honor this, although we still have not received our money back. So we are now looking into that. Highly disorganized hotel. Would not recommend.

Quirky boutique hotel
Previous reviews mention some of the quirks of this hotel - no reception in the evening, no obvious entrance, electronic key to the external door, etc. However, inside you will find a lovely, modernised room with space, good shower, and comfortable bed. The location is superb - easy walking to the Duomo, the Brera district and next to the Castello Sforzesco. They responded quickly when I had a problem with the external door key - a guy came to allow me entry with an actual key. It’s a great place to stay if you can accept there is no reception after 5pm. I would stay again.

We were thankful that we came during the staffed hours so that we could be properly let in otherwise we would’ve had difficulty finding the property and our room. Otherwise the staff was great and very helpful. We were able to drop off bags before our room was ready and the room was very cute.

Terrible Experience at Couper Castello Hotel – Avo
I stayed at Couper Castello Hotel in Milan recently, and it was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. To start with, they don’t even have a proper front desk. If you have any issues or questions, good luck trying to get someone to respond. I had several complaints during my stay, and none of them were addressed. It’s as if they simply don’t care about their guests.
One of the most frustrating things was the hot water situation. You would think a basic necessity like a hot shower would be guaranteed, but no! The hot water is completely inconsistent. Some days, you have to wait forever, and even then, it’s more a matter of luck than anything else if you actually get a warm shower. It’s beyond unacceptable, especially considering the price.
Additionally, the hotel has no proper staff or space to store your luggage. If you arrive early or need to check out late, don’t expect them to help you out. There’s literally no one around to assist, and there’s no space for storing bags, which makes it extremely inconvenient for travelers.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Stay away if you want a comfortable and hassle-free experience in Milan!

Everything was great except that a stranger walked into our room. He quickly walked out once he saw it was occupied, however, it is concerning that he had access in the first place. There was no one at the first desk as it was after hours so I had to call a number, and about 1 hr later the staff said it was an oversight and his access was revoked. While they were able to remediate the situation, it was a safety concern.

Loved the hotel itself! But we were instructed to call if the downstairs gate was ever closed after reception left at 4pm. So it felt a little weird to leave and not be sure we would be able to reach someone to be let back in. Sure enough ourselves and another group of guest returned after dinner to a closed door and had trouble getting back in. Would have been a hassle had we stay led longer than a night!

An unusual juxtaposition between Airbnb and a hote
The room, toilet and cleanliness was on par with that of a good to excellent hotel. The room was also very quiet with no road or pedestrian noises. The location was fantastic being near to the trains, metro, trams and 10-15 min walk to the Duomo. The surrounding area of the Sforzesci castle gave it a very pleasant vibe.
The hotel has no signage making it difficult to find. I guess this is because it's mainly office/apartment blocks with 2 floors used by the hotel. The reception was not regularly staffed although there were numbers available to call if required. If you arrive out of hours, then getting into the hotel may be a challenge.

Overall, this was just fine for our one night stay in Milan. It is not easy to find from the street, being part of another building with little signage. Reception was friendly but not around often. When you leave in the evening you will need to call to be let back in the building. Cute room, but lacks some amenities, like an iron.

This a wonderful location! Really enjoyed our stay. The staff is very kind and helpful, especially the housekeeper gentleman. We just our last morning no hot water to shower, sent a message which was read right away (WhatsApp) but not responded to until check out time. Check in was a little tricky but they were helpful to get us in. Maybe it was having no WiFi and the jet jag…one suggestion would be a sign at the bottom of the stairs saying to go up a “half floor” to the office for check in. The elevator didn’t go to the office rather to first floor. Would stay again having mentioned all that

受付が分かりにくい（電話をかけて確認しました）。スタッフが常時いないようなので、私は問題ありませんでしたが、不便な状況も起こり得るかも。ロケーションは、スフォルツェスコ城の目の前ですし、ダンテ通りもすぐ、また、空港の電車（マルペンサエクスプレス）のあるカドルナ駅からそう遠くなく便利です。部屋は清潔でしたが、私の部屋はデスクがなかったので不便に感じる人もいるかも。

Dishonest lady knew, but did not care to tell her guests the hotel were out of hot water (again…). Pretended to ”look into” a refund but that was just a charade. Never replied again. After a loong hot day on the train we would never even consider a hotel without shower. Also - Built like a room in the room, with the only window/balcony door to a corridor with windows. Also not safe to open window to the corridor since they stash stuff there, and it is shared with other rooms. No info on that either.
