Loved the decor, the room space and cleanliness. Shampoo and soap smelled lovely. Front desk lady was really sweet and helpful. Area was perfect, accessible everywhere by walking. Feedback would be that the shower space is a little tight which is expected in Europe. Breakfast area feels a bit dark and options could be enhanced.

Our room window was facing the back of El Marques restaurants kitchen which was very noisy til past midnight. The noise was continuous yelling, banging of pots and trash cans. We stayed here 5 nights and every night was the same. We did share this feedback with the male receptionist, but nothing was done.

The hotel is tiny and while hidden, very central and very nicely appointed, you feel as if you are a guest in an old Milanese home.

My only issue was that my room was FREEZING. I put the heat on high, left and hours later still cold. The original solution presented to me was a space heater in a room with extremely high ceilings (!) After I pushed for a discount I was given another room. The reason I am calling this out is that the original response from the front desk is that there were NO rooms available. This was at 5-6pm in the evening, somehow I doubt that a guest mysteriously cancelled that late and a alternate room suddenly became available. Both the original and the new room were King Bed rooms, the original being only slightly smaller so why the hesitancy to ensure guest comfort for only almost the same room type is puzzling to me, as I was only there for 1 night.

A Hotel Gem in a Quiet Location.

An absolute gem of a hotel. Away from crowds being located in a quiet laneway and yet walking distance from everything we wanted to see and experience, like La Scala and Duomo. The people working in the hotel, in particular Christine at the front desk and Anna who provided the breakfast were extremely friendly and went out of there way to make our stay such an enjoyable one.

A lovely small quiet hotel in the city centre. Fabulous if you plan to go to Teatro alla Scala nearby. Staff at the front desk and in the breakfast room were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very clean with a comfortable bed. Would happily return.

Beautiful little hotel in fantastic location. The rooms are nicely designed and spacious (for Milan). Staff is very friendly and helpful.

On the critical side, stairs and elevator are a bit and tricky with the luggage. Breakfast buffet is poor and sad and the area is very tight.

Perfect location for all the ‘must see’ attractions of Milan. The decoration of the room is dark but was a good size. The bed was very firm and for us it was rather uncomfortable.
Breakfast room was very small but the meal was perfectly adequate.

The location is a bit difficult to find, but is very near to central part of Milan, such as Piazza Duomo, Galleria and also a tram station, “Cordusio”. It is rather small hotel, a room also small, but it’s really modernized and very clean. The room makes us very comfortable. We also love the latest coffee maker facilities inside our room. All the Hotel staffs are very friendly and did very good job for us to stay comfortably. Breakfast was quite limited variety but the food served there were superb! We really enjoyed it and staying this Hotel. We hope to come back here again.

Hotel elevator was not working. I had a second floor room. I am 72 with a heart condition so this was a hardship for me. Thanks to Antonio who carried my luggage to and from my room. He also offered to change my room. Also, room had no AC, which is common this time of year in Europe. However, most hotels I've stay in have a small fan to place in the room to circulate the air. It got quite stuffy at night. Bkfast was very good.

Hotel in good centric area, walking distance to major sites like La Scala, Duomo, Galkeria Emanuel. Friendly, nice and helpful staff. Only 10 rooms. We had a triple and it was really spacious. Nice bathroom with separated areas. The Downside is that the sofa bed is really uncomfortable and the pillows are a dense memory foam like a rock. Breakfast was ok but no hot selections.

The staff was great, the room was more than big enough for the three of us, very central location on a very quiet street and the breakfast buffet was lovely (no hot food, but great cold cuts, breads, yogurt, fruit & pastries). The only downside to our stay was that the air conditioning units were blowing the cold air inside the curtains when they were closed, instead of into the room. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Nice boutique hotel in quiet location

We were delighted with this hotel - in a very busy area of the city but tucked away from the crowds - only 5 mins walk to the Duomo and a short walk from the restaurants of the Brera district. It was an oasis of coolness and calm - really nice to return to after a hot day's sightseeing. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was surprisingly good - served in a very small space, but regularly topped up and a great selection. Fresh coffee made on the spot too.

The air conditioning in our room was broken so we couldn't sleep the entire first night. After a sleepless night, the next day was ruined because we were so tired.
The hotel did allow us to switch rooms the following night but did not offer to help us move our luggage.
Overall the hotel is fine (good breakfast, great location, friendly staff, etc.) but it is not a 4-star hotel. More like a good 3-star hotel.

The location of the hotel and the breakfast were excellent, also the room size was quite generous, but the air conditioning was extremely ineffective. We couldn’t get the room below 80* the entire stay. The bathroom was even warmer. I’d recommend this property in any other season but summer.

Very nice breakfast room offering a beautiful buffet serviced by a very efficient friendly server. Receptionist arranged airport driver and made very good restaurant recommendations. The hotel is very tiny. Anyway when you go up to your room, be it by elevator or by walking up the stairs, the way is so very narrow and tight. And the breakfast area is also very tiny. You don’t get the feeling of being in a “4 star hotel” at all because the room was minuscule and they give you plastic drinking glasses You don’t get a tea pot in the room, you actually have to request one and a cup if you want to drink tea. No coffee in the room either. Also, their dishwasher is not good as often times, their cups and glasses, and flatware are not fully clean. If you need to iron something, you can’t even have an iron and ironing-board sent to your room. They only have a single one in the hotel, and you have to actually go to the first floor and go inside a staff-room, bring your clothes there and do it in there! The room reeked like artificial perfume. The cleaning they perform is superficial. Something that peeved me was that when housekeeping cleaned the bathroom sink, the lady would always take away the bar of soap and never put another one in its place on the sink. I found out the closet shelves were very dusty when I attempted to lay my clothes on them, so I asked that they be cleaned, but they didn’t clean them. The breakfast itself was not too bad, but it as small, not very varied and there was nothing hot to eat, outside the hot beverages. A couple of the reception ladies were nice: Sandra and Anna. Anna was very helpful in giving information about the city

The Clerici is a gem. A Modern boutique hotel, 10 rooms only, run by small, lovely all female staff. We could not have asked for a better location, within easy access by foot to our entire itinerary. The room itself was spacy, allowing the convenient stay of three adults. The only pity is the absence of a bathtub. Breakfast area is tiny, with limited food selection, but all in good taste and we much enjoyed being indulged with a freshly squeezed orange juice.
I would have gladly given the hotel a top rating, but an unpleasant mishap requires my critique:
On our first night we noted a serious drainage problem in the shower. Despite reporting to the front desk in the morning, it repeated next night, and wore - we woke up early in the morning to a flooded bathroom, with water spilling over to the bedroom.
We learned that the attending staff has no control on water streaming to any single room. That required a plumber, who took quite some time to arrive.
Anyway, at that point the lady at the front desk did her best by immediately dry wiping the floor and by offering us another room temporarily. Eventually things were fixed and no damage occurred, but it could have ended much worse.
This is unacceptable for a 4 star, new, boutique hotel. The management must give their minds to this hydraulic flaw and find ways to prevent such occurrences!!
Happy-end: Before leaving we found an apologetic bottle of Chianti wine bunch of flowers for my wife’s birthday...

Made a last minute reservation based on location. Was pleasantly surprised that the hotel was so chic, clean and comfortable. Extra pillows in the closet, comfortable mattress, excellent bathroom environment. And then their breakfast....delicious and such an assortment to choose from at their buffet. Fresh fruit, sliced meats and even fresh squeezed orange juice!!! I was one happy guest leaving that hotel in the morning. Big smile on my face!!!!

Excellent location in Milan at a reasonable price.

I chose this hotel on Expedia because I wanted a hotel withing walking distance of the Duomo. I found that most hotels in the area were quite pricey. I ultimately chose Hotel Clerici because the price seemed reasonable, the reviews were good, the rooms looked nice in the pictures, and the location is perfect. Easy walking to Duomo, the castle, and the Brera neighborhood which is a must see trendy area. Arriving at the hotel was quite amusing. It is on a narrow street and my driver was artfully navigating his big BMW around the narrow corners. The hotel itself is non descript on the outside. I could of easy walked by it and never notice. But once inside, you can tell that the owners have put a lot of time and effort into making the most of their small space. It is very artfully decorated with a modern look that is very stylish and pleasing. The rooms are of the same high quality, and nothing felt old or dated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My only slight thing with the room is that I am not sure the AC really worked, but you don't get AC much in Germany at places anyways. I am glad I found this charming little place off the beaten path.
