Queer Lovers Loved the Homestead

this was such an incredible choice! this was a couples beach trip and my partner and i (queer and trans POC) flet incredibly safe, welcome and joyous staying at the homestead. the rooms were quiant but everything needded for a little vacation. We breakfast-ed on the porch each morning and recieved white table cloth service. food was delicous, timely, and Joe and David (names?) were excelent and kind. they had extra beach towles and chairs for use and the pool was stocked beautifully with large towels. We ended up staying in at the guest house to watch a movie in their cozy cabin area and it was such a treat to have a nice spot to relax outside of the room. cannot wait to come back!

Homestead was just what we needed for a welcoming, relaxing few days. It is center to all things Rehoboth. The garden views are a beautiful aesthetic and the breakfast meals were delicious! If you enjoy peaceful environments that are not too far from the beach, great seafood restaurants, and hiking trails- plan for Homestead a perfect couple getaway!

Homestead B&B is fantastic! We had a great stay and enjoyed the comfy room, beautiful gardens, fenced dog yard with a gazebo where we could drink our morning coffee while our dog could safely run around and play. This B&B is a pearl, especially if you have dogs. The cottage has a large space outside fully fenced where your dogs can run wild and safely. Breakfast was excellent: you order it the evening before and it shows up at your door at the desired time.

This was my third or fourth stay at Homestead. It just gets better and better. I appreciated the fenced dog walk since there were no sidewalks on the nearby streets. Breakfasts are good and a variety of restaurants are barely 5 minutes drive away. Rehoboth and the motels are built up and hard surfaces but this is an island of relaxing trees. Shrubs , birds, and rabbits.,

This was a wonderful experience for me and my dog. They innkeepers were extremely kind and accommodating. I especially appreciated the dog run, dog towels, and outside tap (with pet shampoo!) for dealing with sand. The whole place was immaculate, too. Homestead does not sacrifice cleanliness just because you need a pet-friendly room. Breakfast was fantastic too!

The property is an oasis amid the hustle and bustle of a beach town. The perfect place to vacation with your pet! The owners have pets of their own and and they live on the premises. I enjoyed meeting the family.
I was traveling alone and was feeling a little bit anxious about it and found The Homestead to be a literal home away from home. The owners, David and Joe have thought of everything to make your stay perfect.
And the breakfast they served was delicious! The continental breakfast was fantastic but then to top it off they served pancakes with banana slices, homemade blueberry syrup and whipped cream.
I started to wonder if I really needed to go home!

Wonderfully, quaint B&B with beautiful grounds. Very romantic weekend getaway. Hosts were perfectly attentive without being overly intrusive. Fabulous breakfast both days we were there. My only complaint would have been the size of our room. I like a lot of space and while the bathroom was roomy the bedroom was a little tight. Other than that this place was perfect. Next time I will book one of the larger rooms.

Such a lovely place!

My husband and I just stayed here this past weekend (April 2018) and loved it. Friends of ours have been coming here every Spring for a number of years and just love it here. It's easy to see why as it is a warm, relaxing and inviting place to stay. Joe and David are marvelous innkeepers and are so sweet. Their lodgings are clean, tidy and decorated with care. Our sleep was restful and our breakfast the next morning was delicious. They took great pains to ensure that everyone's dietary needs were met and always provided service with a smile. It's not too far from the beach and all of the attractions, too. We can't wait to stay here again!

Christmas Trip

I went to the Homestead at Rehoboth B&B this year for Christmas Shopping and my Anniversary. I stayed here before in the cottage which was beautiful. This trip I stayed in the Bay Breeze room. It was just as lovely inside as the detached cottage. It made me feel like I was at home and I just did not want to leave. They cook breakfast by hand and have an amazing Christmas tree. The value that you get for what you pay, to me is priceless. Joe and David made me feel like I was at home and they were guest in my house, and it was the other way around. I will never stay anywhere else when I am in Delaware. I am moving to Delaware and now I have to find a reason to stay from time to time because it's just that AMAZING!! i am returning in May for a while and already can not wait!

The rooms are bright and immaculately clean, the breakfasts are fresh, made-to-order, locally sourced and delicious! Dog safe B&B!

I stayed for two nights in The Cottage and I couldn't have been any happier with the accommodations, the cleanliness, the amazing breakfasts, the gracious hosts AND I felt totally comfortable having my dogs there! They were safe and loved being there! The yard was totally secure and the separate dog run was also totally secure! I wOuld recommend the inn to all dog owners! Your dogs will love it and be safe and you will love it as well!

Great Bed and Breakfast

My daughter and I rented the cottage and could not be more satisfied. My daughter and her friends rented it several years ago and enjoyed their stay so much I decided to go with her since I always wanted to stay at a Bed and Breakfast. Upon arriving we were greeted by Joe, one of the owners who personally showed us the cottage around back and all that it inclued which was beautifully decorated and very clean. The back yard was also very beautiful.

Breakfast in the morning was wonderful! Fresh fruit, muffins, toast, yogurt to start with. Then we were told that they would be preparing eggs, home fries and sausage which was delicious. Both owners are so welcoming and friendly which made our stay very pleasant. I would recommend staying there for anyone that loves to stay at a Bed and Breakfast.

Quick Beach Trip

We have stayed at the Homestead many times with our dog and it never disappoints. What makes the Homestead a winner is that it's clean, quiet, and dog-friendly, with warm, personal service. This time we were in the 1st floor garden room. We enjoyed the king size bed and direct access to the wraparound porch. Joe and David have done a nice job since our last stay upgrading the grounds, including adding a lovely gazebo to the dog run area. As always, we enjoy the central location, convenient to both dog friendly beaches in Lewes and Dewey, as well as to downtown Lewes and Rehoboth.

Breakfast is just great. Inside eating a little small if everyone brings there dog to breakfast. Outside eating was my choice. I liked being able to eat outside at night when we brought back diner to the house. Love the room that gives you access to the outside without having to go thru the main house. Joe & David are real nice guys. They even set up a nice table for us each morning on the outside deck. Dog Run is really kept clean & my dog loved it.The grounds are kept well. I would say over-all for a B&B great place to stay.

An Enjoyable Place to Stay!

Joe and David are great hosts. I slept three nights in the Garden Room and it was perfect. The bed was comfortable, I had a white noise machine, a heating and cooling system I could operate, a TV and DVD player, and a beautiful bathroom with a big shower.

The first night I arrived at the bed and breakfast, Joe sat down with me and asked me what I wanted to do during my vacation. He marked places on the map I might like, and he answered all my questions. He also walked me through the Parking App which was extremely helpful.

If you have a well behaved dog, I highly recommend staying here. There is a dog run out back and towels and bowls for the dogs. I did not bring my dog, but I feel confident that if I had, she would have had an enjoyable stay.

The breakfasts are fabulous! The first morning I had a country breakfast that consisted of eggs anyway I wanted them, sausage and potatoes. The second morning I was served some of the best french toast I have ever had. The third morning they served the country breakfast again. Delicious! There is is also, cereal and bagels, and hard boiled eggs and yogurt for you. Joe and David also make homemade jam!

Things to note:

1. This bed and breakfast is on a busy traffic corner. I suggest wearing earplugs to bed. I wear ear plugs every night all year round to sleep, so it was no problem for me. However, if you're a light sleeper, I would use them if I were you.

2. The bed and breakfast is about three quick miles from the boardwalk and right around the corner from the Tangier outlets! You need a car to get around.

Overall, it was comfortable, homey and extremely well maintained. I would stay here again.

The Homestead owners Joe and Dave run a clean, well-appointed, dog-friendly B&B, with lovely landscaping, gardens, porches and gazebos! The carpeted steps to the second floor made for easy ascents and descents for our aging retriever. The Sunflower room was spacious and quiet, and breakfast was gourmet and delicious!

Perfect for pets and their parents!

This was an absolutely delightful venue for us and our cairn terrier. The hosts, Joe and David were personable, helpful with info about the area and their breakfasts were to die for! The room was very comfortable, with access to both the sitting/breakfast room and a screened in porch for relaxing at either bistro tables or on sofa and chairs. A very special feature of the Homestead was the large fenced in dog walk area; not only were the dogs able to roam and play, but a gazebo provided comfortable seating for the pet parents. Despite less than perfect weather, we all had a wonderful time and look forward to returning to visit with Joe, David and their precious long-haired chihuahua, Teddy Bear!

No Pet? No Problem!

This B&B stands out with or without a four-legged travel companion. Joe and David were great hosts. Everything done first rate and with pride and a desire to please their guests who were all very happy with the different restaurant recommendations (Boardwalk Fair to Broadway Fare) for each of them from the night before. The building itself is a converted farmhouse at the crossroads to the beach on about 2 nicely manicured acres. Casual with Care and many different beachfront experiences a good bike ride or a short car ride away. You can borrow 'Mister Whiskers' or their little Yorkie if you are lonely for a lost pet. The innkeepers will leave you to yourself or share conversation... just let them know. Don't let the Doggy run, outside pet shower, pet library, pet treats and water bowls on the floor fool you. People or pets... all are welcome at the Homestead.

1st Anniversary

We rented the Cottage for our anniversary and it was wonderful. Joe and David were so hospitable and friendly. We brought our yorkie puppy and the whole place was heaven for him! He loved the fenced off pretty big personal back yard where we could let him run around without worrying and Joe and David were great with our puppy and even left our dog shampoo by the outside bath when we went to the beach.

Breakfast was provided and was really gourmet and personally made on site. We had French Toast with orange zest and big omelettes plus they had tea and coffee (a bunch of options with a Keurig) and english muffins, bagels, and other standard stuff. They had games (board games bocce and cornhole) and movies to pick up and the house itself was amazing.

The main house was beautifully decorated and the Cottage was fantastic! A bedroom, big bathroom, surprisingly large kitchen, family room, and the big backyard with patio furniture and a BBQ and only 3 miles from the beach and boardwalk. We had a great time and would absolutely come back again!

Relaxing and Homey at The Homestead

Joe and David are welcoming hosts and very versatile chefs who didn't blink an eye when asked for vegan breakfast selections - the vegan hash was flavorful and delicious!

Every breakfast includes colorful fresh fruit salad along with choices of cereals and breads/pastries and it's an extra pleasure to have access to fresh coffee & tea all day and evening. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with the Sunflower Room being very spacious and airy. They have even made a human-friendly dog park with a lovely gazebo and comfy chairs for us to relax in while our dogs enjoyed the scents of Rehoboth. We will return!

Outstanding Stay

Decided to treat my husband to a trip to Rehoboth Beach, DE and had the PLEASURE of staying for two nights at the Homestead at Rehoboth B & B. We met Joe upon our arrival who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He took the time to share the ins and outs of the dining area, that coffee and tea were always available as well as water, and that we also had a library of movies to view if desired. Then we were shown our room...just beautiful and SPOTLESS.

Everything that we needed was right there as well as a notebook with places to go and restaurants to try. We toured Rehoboth that afternoon and enjoyed an early dinner at the Purple Parrot (good pub food) returning to Homestead to enjoy coffee/tea on the covered porch. The next morning we enjoyed a truly outstanding breakfast served by the innkeepers, Joe and David. Our stay only got better and we applaud the efficiency under which this establishment is managed.

One of the greatest compliments is to say, We will be returning. and so we shall.

We spent five days at the Homestead at Rehoboth in the beginning of October. We stayed in the cottage, and our week was fantastic. Joe and David are great hosts, and the Inn itself was great. We had our dog with us and the inn is very pet friendly. Joe is a great cook, the breakfasts were marvelous. We'll definitely return, and urge anyone thinking of traveling to Rehoboth Beach to make the Inn's website their first stop.

Our stay at The Homestead at Rehoboth Bed and Breakfast was delightful! The innkeeper were friendly and went out of their way to make sure that we were happy. The breakfasts are excellent. Our dogs had a fenced play area to play with the other dogs. Would definitely visit again.

Sweet B&B in Rehobeth

125 year old farmhouse, lovely gardens, good yards, separate fenced dog park. Clean, well-maintained, nice clean-up facilities outside, neat, well-sited (centrally located off main drag), run by knowledgeable locals able to make thoughtful dining, hiking, biking, dog-friendly suggestions for events, locations and attractions. Non-invasive, easy to talk to, friendly hosts. Excellent fresh, from-scratch breakfasts (fresh fruits, breads, yogurts, nice coffee/tea service, frittata, pancakes, omelettes), Joe & David run an excellent establishment.

A Delightful Place to Stay

My husband and I spent four nights in the cottage with our two dogs. The accommodations were very comfortable. The innkeepers are friendly and appropriately attentive. The breakfasts were abundant and delicious!! We highly recommend Homestead.

The Homestead B&B, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

We stayed mid-week for two nights in the cottage in June 2016. Was beautifully decorated and relaxing with lots of nice details, and our own enclosed garden area and patio. The main house is wonderfully decorated, we saw all the bedrooms and each had it's own charm. David and Joe were brilliant hosts and the breakfasts were to die for!

Awsome Pet Friendly B&B

We stayed in the Sunflower room. It was nice and roomy and very clean. The only thing I would recommend is to have carpet runners on the floor because it was slippery for our dog to walk on. Other then that we really loved staying there. Joe and David made an delicious breakfast. The dog run was really nice with a relaxing gazebo.

A beautiful B&B with warm and welcoming innkeepers. Travelled with 2 elderly parents and our dog and felt right at home. Delicious breakfast in an immaculate common area. If we needed anything, it was there. A delightful screened in porch to enjoy your evening wine or cocktail. We will be back.

Wonderful experience

We've been coming to the Homestead for years and have stayed in the Garden and Sea Glass rooms and the Cottage. Just booked the Sunflower room for later in the season. Joe and Dave are wonderful hosts and they create a beautiful and relaxing environment that's close to everything we want to visit in the area. We haven't taken our pets yet, but its fun to be around other quests enjoying theirs.

WONDERFUL HOSTS AND DOG FRIENDLY

My husband and I spent a weekend with my daughter and husband at this wonderful B&B- we have never vacationed with our dog and so weren't really sure how it would work out. Well if you ever have any doubts about that come here- besides a warm cozy atmosphere with gracious friendly hosts- there is a fenced in dog walk with a gazebo and lighting so you can enjoy the outside- Our first night there we sat outside under the stars and let the dogs wander in the enclosed area and drank champagne- its 3miles to the beach so we were able to have our dog see the ocean for the first time- the hosts provide doggie towels to clean up and an assortment of doggie item like bowls if you forget- But besides the doggie friendly atmosphere its good for humans too- a great breakfast every day and Sundays you get bloody marys or mimosa- rooms are clean and cozy and dining area is so cute i want to live there- We spent one night playing games that are stored in a big chest in the little dining room and drank wine and had a blast -make sure you visit here- its small and friendly and close to thievery - and they cook good!!

Gratifying Oasis!

My partner and I enjoyed two peaceful days in Rehoboth Beach at the Homestead Bed and Breakfast. Joe and David were welcoming and helpful, and cooked two amazing breakfasts (custom omelettes and heavenly french toast!).

Traveling from our apartment in the heart of DC, the bed and breakfast was truly a retreat. It sits on beautiful property, with trees, gardens, and greens. Our dog, Grizzly, thoroughly enjoyed frolicking around the grounds and running loose in the gated dog park. We stayed in the Sunflower room, which had its own calming effect. Even our dog, who basically never retires from his life duty of guarding doors and investigating suspicious sounds, realized that he was in good hands and took a much-needed break from his full-time job.

We also found the Big Chill Cantina right around the corner from the bed and breakfast-- a laid-back bar with a great outdoor area that allows dogs to roam through freely. No vacation is complete without the pup, and we found the entire area catered to furry friends. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and we'll definitely return to Homestead for all of the peace that it offers!

We had such a great weekend in Rehoboth when we stayed at the Homestead B&B. Joe and David were so nice and welcoming. The breakfasts were beyond delicious! It's always a fun vacation when you can bring your furry friend along and our dog had a blast! The room was very nice and when I walked in I immediately felt that they had thought of everything! From the pet sheet on the bed, the rubber mat for her food bowl, even the little basket of snacks and toiletries. We will absolutely be back!

I love the fact that Homestead is a pet friendly environment. The owner Joe is very friendly and personable. Lots of space outside for your pets. Only down fall for me was the bed was extremely soft. Can't do soft beds very uncomfortable. Felt like I was sinking in the middle. I wish I had booked earlier to get a room with the bath inside the room. We had I ownyd private bath, but it was outside the room. Homestead sit on the corner of a busy intersection so if you are in the room in the front be prepared for the traffic.

Our boxer loves this B&B! (So do we)

We have stayed here twice during the Rehoboth Beach marathon weekend. The first time we were in the smallest and least expensive room which was lovely and had a spacious bathroom. Every detail -- including your pet's needs! -- is attended to at this cozy B&B. Joe and David are friendly and gracious. During our checkout of our first visit, they asked if we wanted to peek in the cottage where they were cleaning. Upon seeing it, I decided to reserve the cottage for our next stay. It was an excellent choice! The cottage is cozy yet spacious, quaint but with plenty of room. And again, the attention to detail is what makes these B&B owners stand out in my eyes. From the dog dishes to the doggie poop bags, from the wine opener to the glassware, from the dog blankets to the eye make-up remover cloths in the bathroom, these guys think of everything! If you do stay in the cottage, you have your own fenced in backyard for your pup. This is seriously a great place to stay with your dog.
