Booked a month or so ago. Arrived to discover they were renovating parts of the hotel, and that my room was directly over top of where workmen were cutting large slabs of marble with saws. When I inquired about the noise, the staff only said \"Oh, we're renovating.\"
Constant power sawing went on for two days. The morning of check out, I was in the shower when the water was cut off, no warning, because they were apparenlt redoing the washer-dryers outside my room.
I don't normally write negative reviews, but the three day vacation I tried to go on was hampered by poor weather. I couldnt retreat to the beach, and the hotel I booked to relax was under construction. I understand needing to renovate, especially during off season, but I would have booked somewhere I could actually take a nap for my vacation. Super disappointing.

We came for a long weekend thinking this was a 3+ star level place. We were first given a room that when we entered, it smelled very bad and the smoke alarm/detector was covered with plastic and tape. No big deal, we opened the doors to let the room air out. My husband went to talk to the front desk about the alarm being covered. Staff offered a separate room, but I had started putting things away and didn't think it was necessary. Then we went to open the sofa bed and there were no sheets/blankets. The mattress was stained with something. My son attempted to take a shower and we discovered the shower was broken. I went to the front desk to let them know about the sofa bed and shower, and they offered the other room again. We accepted. The second room sofa bed also, did not have sheets. So we went to the front desk a third time. Staff offered to bring sheets/blankets up to us. We stayed the rest of our long weekend, finding random leftover toys/trash etc from what we can only guess was from previous guests. The bathroom cabinet was also damaged in the second room. While manageable, this place is definitely not worth 3 star money. I'd say 1-2 stars given its location to the Kona Nation club, that had a rock concert on Friday night. If they could get a better cleaning service and improve the condition of their rooms, this could be a 2-3 star.

I would honestly say this hotel needs many updates for the price we paid in Oct. No water pressure at all, chairs had stains on them. Bathroom was not properly cleaned on arrival. If your looking for a place to lay your head and there are no other options….come to the Bay Resort.

The staff was terrific but under new management so there were lots of surprises. Pool and water options closed, unexpected new charges of $15 per night for parking, no screens on the patio door so the room full of flies, no upgrades to ac and kitchenette (the ac was loud and blew dirty air) and a tree on one side of the property bangs on the roof gutter so loudly we didn’t get any sleep the first night and had to change rooms). Years ago this was a great place, but with lack of upgrades and proper maintenance has gone downhill. We will not stay here again,

Clean room, great location, comfortable bed. Its an older facility but kept well. I loved the dock off the back bay. Easy walk to the ocean. Our room only had a mini fridge (no freezer) so not really able to bring food to cook. Kitchenette is very tiny with no counter space. Pool is not heated, so we were not able to enjoy that amenity.

Staff was very helpful. Room was clean but renters before us smoked outside and never disposed of their buts. We discussed with cleaning ladies but were still there after the 4th day. We stayed at this location approximately 15 years earlier with no updates. The bed was comfortable and guests were very friendly. The Motel is dog friendly as are a lot of restaurants in the area especially in the off season which attracted us because we have a 10 year old Service Dog which allowed us to bring her to the beach and restaurants. Will go back in the future.

I spent three nights at this hotel with my wife and 3 year old son. We tried to make the best of it because of the great service and the convenient location, but ultimately we were disappointed with the condition of our room. It was a poolside king efficiency on the first floor. The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned and the stove was dirty. Some of the tiles around the front door were missing or cracked. The sliding glass door facing the pool did not lock well and the rod that was available to secure it was incredibly difficult to adjust. We booked our room because the hotel had great ratings, but our room in particular left a lot to be desired. It got to the point where my wife was actually uncomfortable unpacking. Needless to say, we won't be back.

I didn’t appreciate being charged $16 to park my car in the parking lot. This is a basic motel and the nights stay was $260 for a motel room. The parking fee was petty. Charge people to park there that do not have rooms. I am paying to stay there and to hit me with a charge to park was exploitative.

This property is NO resort! It is a rundown motel! Do not believe what they say about having kayaks and paddle boards. That is a separate business run on their property and charges ypu extra for everything. They don’t even clean your room or provide you with shower soap. It’s a dive that charges a king’s ransom!

We’ve stayed for years. Generally have liked. Cost went way up several years ago. They said they would remodel. The bathroom was totally ghetto. Filthy base boards covered by a thin white plastic strip in an effort to conceal years of neglect. When ceiling fan was switched in, the entire unit popped off and dangled. Comical if not paying $500 for that night. No maid service in two days other than a fresh towel dropped off.

The resort was sufficient to our needs. The room was clean, staff was attentive, and the resort is within walking distance of the beach, restaurants and convenience stores. The kitchen needs some updating as it's a bit rusted but still works perfectly. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the pool area is open to everyone who's not even a guest at the resort. For 2 nights out of the 4 that we stayed there, there were kids making such a racket on the pool at 8pm, slamming their pool noodle on the water that makes it sound like fireworks and turns out they were not even staying there. Our room happened to be next to the pool . We spoke to the front desk on duty and the response we got was \"Sorry, they're kids but we're going to close the pool in 30 minutes.\" Another hotel guest was making the same complaint and not sure if the front desk on duty spoke to the kids or the parents of the kids about the noise they're making. Book a room on the upper levels to lessen the noise if you can. All the rooms face the pool so the noise is unavoidable.

No elevators, toilet was wobbling out of floor, bathroom door wouldnt close, front door ya needed to shove shut or it wouldnt stay closed. Even though there is a kitchenette, there was no pots or pans,.. for 400.00 a night i should have stayed at the marriot. The bay area was no where near what their pictires show. Customer beware, no better then a motel 8 to lay your head

Parking lot was full and it took half hour to find a space to park overnight, which costs an additional $31. Room was not clean, with an old soap bar still in the shower. Staff were nice.

Our favorite thing about the hotel was the view from our balcony. It was so peaceful and it was the perfect place to watch the sunset over the bay. The location was perfect - once you parked, there was no need to use your car again. The Ocean was 2 short blocks away and there was a great assortment of restaurants in walking distance. Some of the faciliy is a bit dated, but it was clean and the staff was super nice and helpful. We will be returning!
