The hotel is definitely aging and needs some care. The soap dish had fallen off in the shower and was not replaced (and there was no other shelf), so there was nowhere to put a bar of soap except on the shower floor. The air conditioning unit was also VERY noisy, which made it hard to sleep. The room was clean, but a bottle of tilex was left in the bathroom by the cleaning staff.

The room we upgraded to was awesome! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had all the amenities one would need and the shower was hot with great water pressure. The location to the beach was perfect for the Doodles in Dewey event we came down for.

The woman with the terrible attitude at the front desk really ruined it for us at this place. Make sure you PRINT out your confirmation paperwork because it sounds like their rules and rates change often (parking/ dog fees etc).

Parking is free on the street in the off season. We even spoke to a police officer to make sure our car wasn't going to be towed, like the front desk said it would. Sure enough he said no it’s fine right where we parked it, overnight.

It felt like she made it her personal mission to try to intimidate guests.

I would stay here again in hopes that woman is no longer there- the hotel itself fit all of our needs. Come prepared and you’ll have a great time!

We had such a wonderful stay at the Atlantic Ocean Side Hotel in Dewey Beach for opening weekend! From the moment we arrived, everything felt easy, welcoming, and relaxing. The location is absolutely perfect—just steps from the beach and all Dewey has to offer!

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything we needed for a stress-free getaway. The staff was so very friendly and accommodating, always ready with a smile and very helpful.

We love how laid-back the atmosphere is and being in the heart of Dewey with all the fun things to do.

Anytime we come to Dewey we always stay here and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, enjoyable, and perfectly located beach escape!

We stayed last April, no real complaints. Our stay in November the room was a little rough. Floor and trim were very dirty. Tub filled with water when showering and the plumbing made a loud noise while shower was on. It’s still a decent place for the price but was a little disappointed in the cleanliness this time.

They charge you an additional $12 to park on site. Even in the off season when Parking is free. I asked front desk about this and she told us that parking is only free in rehoboth and not Dewey which we learned was not accurate.

Room was ok. Great location. One issue, you have to pay to park at the hotel? Was unaware of this since none of the othe hotels in the area do this. So when shopping around, the rate looks lower than what it really is. Seems a little shady.

Staff was friendly. Sheets were rough and felt overused with balls of fabric on them, towels had hair on them, cups for ice had a piece of chewing gum stuck to them. Lots of outside noise from other guests and random patrons on the hotel property.

Only dings, and they had little impact, were very slow internet tv and non working clock in room.

Excellent location, if you don't mind the sounds of the Friday and Saturday night concerts across the street carrying to your room. Excellent food options nearby. Clean room, sheets, towels, bathroom, except VERY DIRTY FLOOR. Bring socks or slippers. Excellent water pressure in the shower, not so much for the toilet. Expect to flush twice. Nice outdoor gathering areas. Best of all - ocean block location for reasonable price.

Coffee mill atmosphere was nice, very pet friendly, could use work around the edges (rust in the stairwell, outdated and crusty bathtub, stains on the ceiling— things were clean but not nice looking if that makes sense), staff was AMAZING and so helpful. Got into our room early, helped with my service dog not being a pet, got us a parking pass to go to the beach while our room wasn’t ready yet.

There was no toilet paper in the room. There is black mold in the shower. The towel I put on the bathroom floor for my shower got dirty from the floor not being clean. There were ants- just a few. On a positive note, the young woman at the front desk was very nice and pleasant and provided us with toilet paper and a hair dryer.

Great location, easy beach walk and pet friendly make this a good spot for a shorter visit. It could be a little cleaner, there could be a few more towels, but the bed was comfortable. Coffee shop on property was good to find. And the sun deck is great for morning coffee or a happy hour glass.

I liked that the property was close to the beach and had a lot of restaurants and stores within walking distance. I didn't have to do a lot of driving once there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property was clean, well-maintained, and had a lot of unique touches. My room was a little smaller than what I'm used to, but I would definitely visit again.

We take a yearly trip to Dewey every year and usually get a beach house for a full week. This year, we decided to take a shorter trip and book a room instead. After much research, we decided to go with the Block Party hotels. At first we were skeptical considering beach rooms are usually seedy and dirty. However, much to our surprise our room was bright, clean and comfortable . There are two pools on either side and both have plenty of space, shade and sun depending on your preference. The attached coffee house has beautiful deck where you can utilize the extra space for a nice sunset happy hour or a comfortable breakfast. The service was also fantastic. Check in was really easy and towels were provided upon request. The outside gym was a nice bonus as well.
Best of all though, is the location. The hotel can’t have a better location in Dewey- barely a block from the beach with lots of dining options surrounding.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun spot in Dewey.

I did not get my $50 return. The rooms have no hangers for wet clothes pr mirrors on the wall for getting ready. The bathroom fan did not work. You need to pay extra for everything. The lobby had no coffee. The Employees were nice but disgruntled. My room was not ready at 4pm. I received my key and the room door was open and not ready.

So we were given one key for 3 people and when asked for another key I was told “they are not available” by a very rude and condescending person at the front desk.
2 very small pillows per bed and could not ask for more. Clean rooms every 3 days???? I’m paying $350 a night plus parking now and I can’t even have the room cleaned! It’s a beach town. We are showering multiple times a day and sand everywhere . Insanity!

The location is great right by the beach and bars/restauranrs and the dog friendly aspect is nice as well.

However, the room itself was quite dirty with mold on the shower curtain, dirt splatters on the walls, stains on the sheets and towels.

It was definitely a cheaper option for the location but we expected a bit cleaner for the price of $300/night

Staff greeted us and took great care of us! The room was nice and updated and clean. However, when I went to get in bed at midnight after a long day my sheets were full of long hair. Not just a few, a lot! It was gross and it was late so I re covered the bed and slept on the top of the comforter under the sheet covering it. I would stay again since everything else was clean, but next time l will check my bed on arrival!

The property was decent. It was close to the beach, but that's about it. The staff was non-existent, and the rooms were not very clean. The floor was filthy. I don't think it was ever cleaned. And the sheets were stained and dirty, and there was food in the refrigerator and the microwave, which was pretty gross. I don't think I would stay there again, but the town is nice, the beach is nice; just pick another hotel.

The Block Party, Beach House, staffing mainly the young ladies were very unwelcoming. The bathroom was rusty and the toilet appeared to act is if it would overflow. I asked for an air mattress which was filthy. I do not recommend this HOTEL OR WHATEVER it appears to be at all. Absolutely hated it!!!! We packed up and left.

Locations is perfect. Unfortunately the ladies at the desk were not helpful. We arrived on a Sat afternoon, we went to the desk on Monday asking if anyone would be in to clean the floors and bring clean towels. We were told by one lady they come in every 2 days then when no one came in Monday and we had to go to the front desk to ask for towels, another employee told us every 3 days.
Needless to say we were there from Sat-Friday and not one cleaning person ever approached our room and all week we had to go request towels and ask to have our trash changed.

The property is very convenient and walkable to the places we wanted to be near. The room had a fridge and microwave. The bed was most miserable bed I have ever slept in. I thought I was on a piece of plywood. We were there 2 nights and they was no fresh towels after the first night so we had to use damp towels as there were no hooks to hang them on second day. We had to pay incidental fee of $50 which is supposed to be refunded but I am not sure what the incidental fee was for as there was no mini bar in the room.

According to the lobby staff when we checked in Expedia over booked and we paid for a King Deluxe and they only had Double bed… not giving us the difference in price… then wen we got to the room there were flies and mosquitoes… and black mold in the bathroom… (my wife is allergic) we contacted Expedia via the app and were told the only way you could help is 10% off another hotel.. meanwhile I loose the $300 for this room and pay for a new one… really? Inl got the insurance bit that hasn’t helped at all.

Property was fine except we were going to bring our dog and thankfully we didn’t bc they had us in the 3rd floor, and NO elevator !! Our room was suppose to be 1st floor and my 10.5 yo bulldog would’ve never made it up 3 flights of steps!! I sucked it up as they didn’t have another room but I have joint issues and my knees were killing by end of stay. You have to pay for parking also which I find not right it should be billed into the room. The last day our air stopped working and we had to move to another room, was a major inconvenience. The room was close to beach, clean and staff very friendly but we did not get the room we were suppose to get on the first floor.
