We had a wonderful stay here at Fort George. Cocktails were delish, food was good, and in walking distance to this super yummy spot to eat called Secret Garden as well as the port to the ferries. Literally a 3 min walk. Staff was super helpful.

Hotel was nice, clean and staff were friendly. Very little amentities and not very easy to get around outside of the hotel. Was told several times, it was not safe to walk after dusk. Our first day there we called a taxi and waited for about an hour an no one showed up. We were told that \"regular\" taxis have a green license plate and personal taxis (individuals) have a bc or something like that on their license plate. We never got a \"real\" taxi, so we were often sceptical about going places because we weren't sure who was going to show up to get us. There's not much to do around the hotel. No entertainment. And only 1 restaurant on the property. The food was \"mid\" and overpriced, so you have to catch a taxi early to go eat somewhere else. One night while dining at the restaurant on the property, we ordered a cheeseburger. They literally brought us back cheese on a burger bun. You have to specifically ask for beef or you'll end up with a grilled cheese sandwich. Overall it was good vacation and good experience.

The hotel is very well maintained. Staff is very friendly and help. The restaurant on the property is adequate. For those of you whose fitness is a priority their gym on premises is first class. Overall really enjoyed my experience at this hotel.

The Fort George hotel was beautiful and clean. My husband and I had a wonderful experience. The restaurant had delicious options and everything was convenient around the property. That included the ferry to Caye Caulker. We had a wonderful day trip out there and back. They are currently expanding the hotel. Will definitely visit again.

We stayed in the newer tower. There is a lot of construction going on in the area. The access to the water taxi is like a 5 minute walk which was great. It is not advisable to walk to the outside restaurants in the area at night and there are virtually no taxis at night but the desk was able to get us a ride. The Treehouse restaurant is phenomenal, drinks/vibes/food 11/10! Unfortunately they were not helpful when we were stuck because of the snowstorm because we booked through Expedia. It worked out because then we went to stay on one of the islands for the remainder of us being stranded. The pool here is cute, very small and could benefit from being heated because the sun doesn’t hit the water often. The staff is friendly.

This was a gem in Belize City close to the water and walking distance to restaurants. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was delicious- had both traditional and Belizean offerings. The room was so nice and the AC was refreshing. It had a great gym with ample equipment. There was an outdoor seating area, a full service bar and relaxing pool. I would stay there again.

The property is new and modern. Clean. Has everything you need but the coffee machine didn’t work and the treetop cafe that you need reservations for is horrible. There was a party 4 and not a single person enjoyed the food.

The staff was all amazing here. The gym was state of the art. The food was a little more expensive than I would have liked, but was very delicious. Pool and patio area was very nice. The one and only thing I would have loved to help off set the price of food around us was a microwave. The room had a coffee machine and small refrigerator but nothing to heat up left overs. But overall I would love to stay in this hotel again.

Friendly staff, tropical welcome drinks, fairly clean, ocean view rooms are a bit small, view is okay, brown surf, popular parking spots in front, some loud music, construction on new building makes streets busy, no loud construction noises, pool was okay, treehouse resturaunt had good food, close to water taxis, minimal city sites for this location, good housekeeping, salon did not have a hair stylist. Would recommend, but ocean views are not spactacular.

The property is amazing. We stayed in the penthouse and it was great.
Stay away from the restaurant in the lobby. Food was mediocre but Very poor service. They forgot one meal and never really brought it out. We asked for it to go and my son had to eat it in the room after we had eaten. They still wanted to charge us for it. There are a lot of other places to eat close by that are much better like celebrity restaurant and bar or Martha’s.

The property is beautiful and very clean. The restaurant has good food which is a tad expensive but expected I suppose for the quality of the hotel. The pool is smaller but great to cool off in.

A couple of things I did not like. One, the birds in the outdoor sitting area. They congregate at night and don’t stop squawking until 2 or 3 in the morning and start up again around 5 a.m. they are so loud outside the rooms that it’s hard to get a good nights sleep.

Two is there are only a couple of restaurants within walking distance everything else you’d have to taxi too.

This is a great hotel to stay a night if you’re in Belize city for an excursion. I definitely wouldn’t stay for an extended vacation as there’s not much to do around the area.

I recently stayed at the Fort George while four months pregnant. Upon arrival, I wore a gray two-piece lounge set and requested in advance if the hotel could do my laundry. I was told that laundry typically takes 24 hours but they would try. My laundry was taken the same day, which was appreciated, and I was able to enjoy lunch while my items were being handled.

However, the next day, just before my early departure due to a canceled flight, I discovered that my gray pants had been damaged. When I addressed this with staff, they claimed that the damage was pre-existing and that I had arrived at the hotel wearing the pants in that condition. This was not only inaccurate, but also insulting. I offered for them to review footage to confirm that I would never arrive in damaged clothing, but my concerns have not been acknowledged.

While the hotel itself was clean and well-maintained, the lack of communication, follow-up, and accountability from staff was extremely disappointing. I have emailed multiple contacts and received no response. Due to this experience, I am requesting a full refund. If necessary, I will consider legal action or escalate via social media.

Fort George Hotel is beautiful and newly renovated. We did not utilize the spa, but it looked very nice. We ate quite often at The Treehouse out of convenience; the restaurant attached to the hotel which we found to be delicious but priced expensively. You might be better off eating locally (we did not realize there was a string of local restaurants close by). We were 2 women staying and it was advised not to walk anywhere after dark, so please use taxi cab services. There is a lot of construction in the surrounding area so there may be more to see, but mostly we would take the water taxi cab from San Pedro Belize Water Express Taxi (7 minute walk from the hotel) over to the other cayes, as there are no swimmable beaches in Belize City. Next time we would stay there however, Fort George is still beautiful and worth the stay. The pool is clean and we had a pool view room. The front desk staff did not necessarily seem happy to be there (but who knows what they have to deal with daily). The exception would be other staff, Jairo and Shanda who were always kind, outgoing and friendly with each interaction. We ordered room service from the Treehouse and they brought it to our room with the biggest smiles and the best service. They were a great representation of Belizeans that are proud of the culture and history. I really appreciate that they did not have to but helped to end our trip to beautiful Belize with a cherry on top! Thank you, Jairo and Shanda.
