From the moment we arrived, everything was top-tier. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, always going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms were spotless, modern, and super comfortable, and the views were absolutely beautiful.

The location was perfect—close to everything but still peaceful and relaxing. We loved how easy it was to explore and then come back to such a calm, clean space. Every detail felt well thought out, and the service truly made the experience unforgettable.

If you’re visiting Belize, I highly recommend staying here. I’d definitely come back again!

Staying at the Golden Bay Hotel is all about Holdane. He's a server at the hotel restaurant, Vino Tinto. The man made our meals fabulous. Holdane went out of his way to make our experience wonderful, no, magnificent.

The hotel property was good. The department store connected to it was a life saver. If you forgot something, they have it for you. The staff at the store also was great, being very patient with us as we tried to make the most of our Belize dollars and US Dollars.

The food at Vino Tinto was good. Don't miss the stewed chicken. And for me, a guy who hates potato salad -- I tried theirs and it opened me up to new adventure. Good stuff.

Beautiful room, comfy bed - very clean. On-site restaurant was quite good, with very friendly staff & beautiful views of the city and sunset. Across the street from the water, but away from the noise of the city - 2 blocks from the Belize Museum. There was a little noise during the day, due to major construction - to add rooms, a pool and a workout gym - but never an issue at night.

We had beers at the rooftop outdoor seating area which was very pleasant. There is a restaurant on the top floor which was great for breakfast. There are also restaurants nearby that are within walking distance. The hotel is very clean and nicely appointed. The pool is being renovated but is supposed to be completed this spring I believe. Check in and out was very simple.

I’ll start with the staff, because they represent the heart and soul of this hotel, Kimberly, Dane, Christopher, Aryel the bartender, who makes THE BEST dirty martini’s! And our servers who’s names I forget, however, who’s smiles and EXCELLENT service we cannot! From the housekeeping staff who kept our room immaculate to the brother who picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, this didn’t feel like a hotel, everyone made us feel like family! There aren’t enough words to describe how delicious the food and drinks are, from breakfast to dinner, food was at least 5 stars! Although there isn’t a gym or pool…yet, they’re working on it and you’d expect more noise from the construction and yet, we slept like babies with zero noise while in our room and minimal while enjoying breakfast on the roof deck. What surprised me was the shopping center attached to the hotel, prices were reasonable and the people were friendly, Justin is such a warm young man, and yeah, if it sounds like I’m a fan boy, I am! I have travelled extensively and mainly booked resorts, from London, Paris to Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taiwan, Jamaica (my homeland), Costa Rica, Luxembourg, Amsterdam, L.A. and of course my current home Manhattan, and Golden Bay has proven to be one of our favorite places in the world…so far! This hotel’s most valuable resource is its people! We will be back in two months, and bringing more of our family because the employees of Golden Bay made us feel like family. God Bless Golden Bay!

The property is currently under construction, so early morning are filled the noise of the adjacent extension being added to the hotel. The highlight is the rooftop restaurant with amazing staff , delicious food and great views of Belize City!

We stayed two nights. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable though a little on the extra firm side, The pillows were definitely hard, more so than any hotel I've ever stayed. Overall, comfortable stay and close to the water taxi (within easy walkable distance for us), and the airport.

Drawbacks: They put us in a room with a window that was blacked out, that side of their hotel is right up against their new building. There was no mention in the listings about what are essentially windowless rooms. At check-in the desk person also did not mention there is not a functioning window.

The other irk was that the front desk staff, while I was standing there trying to figure out how to get cash for a taxi to the airport (my bank card wasn't working and the taxi's do not take credit cards), never mentioned they have a shuttle that does airport runs. We had to find out from other guests who happened to be on a day tour we did.

The rooftop restaurant is nice. Food is good. Drinks are good. Great views from the outdoor terrace side. Staff was friendly and attentive.

After confusion with our reservation, staff moved us to a different room. Bed and shower were great. Restaurant was abysmal, except for the rooftop setting. Much of the menu, including all the seafood, was out of stock. Everything is extra--shuttle to airport, breakfast.

Stayed one night before flying out. We were allowed to check in when we arrived early. Gift store was closed as were all surrounding shops as it was a Sunday. Room and hotel were clean.
Our undesirable view was the expansion they are doing in the hotel. Our hotel room window was covered in concrete splatter and dust and the construction noise started at 7 am. Nice rooftop restaurant with view of the ocean. Service at the restaurant was very slow. We had dinner and breakfast there. Food was average.

We had a wonderful stay at the Golden Bay Hotel. Orlando was quick to respond to help set up our transfer to and from the airport. Jorge did a great job of picking us up and telling us about Belize and places to see. Orlando was quick and efficient at check in while telling us about the construction for the expansio of their property. He offered to move us to a quieter room and then comped us breakfast when we told him we would be fine where we were. Breakfast was fabulous and the views from the rooftop were a great way to kick off our trip. Johnathan was also great in taking us back to the airport to meet our tour group in the afternoon. All around great stay!

The staff were incredibly responsive and friendly. They helped us with finding a tour guide and rides to the airport. When there was a glitch in our pick up, they made it right by offering a complimentary breakfast. The room was clean and well appointed. The only issue was that we had no window to look out as they were under construction so it was a bit off putting. However location was perfect, right on the water and within walking distance to the cruise ship area.

Terribly overpriced room for not getting any rest. Very loud construction and banging going on, they’re currently renovating hotel. And we were placed in a room below the kitchen and it was very loud all night until after 11pm and then it started up again at 6am. Would’ve chosen a different hotel if I’d realized. Expedia showed all good reviews but that must’ve been before hotel went under renovation. What a rip off

This might be a nice hotel but right now they are under construction.
pros: the restaurant is amazing, the staff are helpful and kind and the linens and towels are lux.
Cons: we were in room 303 and the view is the construction (like literally a concentrate shell that completely blocks the view). But more so than that, it's the noise. We checked in at 3 and the construction sounds were brutal. Super loud grinding and jack hammering. They promised us they would stop by 5. At 6 we called the front desk, and they said they would get them to stop. But then we kept hearing super loud sounds. Turns out it's the kitchen washing dishes and cutlery. It sounded like it was right outside of our room and went on until 1am. Why would the hotel place us in the room with such loud sounds? At 11pm they offered to move us. Why didn't they move us earlier? We finally got to sleep at 1am and then the kitchen breakfast sounds started again at 6am. They comped our breakfast which was nice but then we promptly checked out. If you value your sleep don't stay here.

Room with covered windows no forewarning by reception. Faucet with extra slow draining making it vey uncomfortable for hand washing and teeth cleaning. Construction noise early in the morning disrupted sleep. Not a good experience. However free breakfast was offered.

Easy and quick check-in and check-out. Clean and functionally appointed room. Nice rooftop restaurant. Several other restaurants are nearby and there is a small grocery in the lobby. This hotel is an excellent choice in transition to Ambergris or Turneffe Caye. It's a 3 minute taxi to both Belize Express and Carribean Sprinter docks.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was courteous. The roof top restaurant had excellent food at reasonable prices. Great location. Walking distance to \"tourist village\" and water taxis. An added bonus is a large variety store attached to the hotel where you can find inexpensive souvenirs and household items.

I was greeted at the airport by Adrian.
He was excellent - well dressed, courteous, knowledgeable and pleasant personality.
On arrival at the hotel I was checked in by Orlando who was just as courteous and pleasant.
My entire stay was absolutely enjoyable and I look forward to staying at Golden Bay again in the near future.

Unless I missed something, the hotel pictures and description failed to mention an ongoing construction project. The project included loud noises outside the window and extremely limited parking at the site. I'm addition, the shower did not have hot water. It was mild if I'm being generous. The staff was friendly and professional, but the current condition of the property doesn't align with the marketing and a statement of we’re sorry at check-in doesn't pass muster.

APPARENTLY if your look local you dining dervice will take a while. Looks like whites get served first and people of color sre ignored when dining. Has coffee and didnt see the waiter for the rest of time. Had to ask for service. Poor service.

We had a comfortable stay. The room was clean and very spacious, with an ocean/city view combo. The bed was a little too firm but we slept alright on it. The A/C was excellent and the temperature in the room was quite cool and comfortable (and adjustable to our liking). We would have liked an early check-in option, and the front desk said they would call as soon as the room was ready, but I never received a call (had no missed calls, either), and we had to wait over 2 hours to check in, though they did hold our luggage for us, which was nice. They had changed shifts by the time we were able to check in and it seemed like the early shift did not communicate anything about us waiting to the later shift. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and we really liked the rooftop restaurant. It had excellent food and service, and pretty good drinks.

You dont have a pool, your facilities is still under construction, restaurant food was not good on any day we visited. Your local restaurants offer better quality. The room was very nice but the showerhead needs to be soaked in to clean out the sprayer. Staff was wonderful. Shops were ok. We were confused by the floor numbers and room numbers butgot use too it. Thsnks for a wonderful time.

The hotel has mold . They will tell you they dont . If your allergic to mold and mildew your body will not lie to you. However they have taken multiple preventive measures to control the issue but it has far from helped .

Stayed only for a night, booked the king bed but they only had the two queens available which I wasn’t upset at. Overall solid location and really close to the Belize Water Taxi Terminal. Walking distance to good restaurant options as Belize city isn’t too dense population wise.

Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Nice size shower. Parking was sometimes a bit difficult as the hotel has a store on bottom floor that gets much traffic for the size of the parking area. Also the A/C did not get very cold and difficult to understand the A/C control.
