Sound proofing of room not very good, can hear sound of firecrackers and traffics at night during week of Deepavali. Room is clean and spacious, there is also water dispenser on every floor. Lots of dinning and grocery options available nearby.

Concierge service was good, very friendly and helpful. Suite was big and nice to stay in. Would be better if rooms were more soundproof as it can be pretty noisy from cars and even neighbours.
Gym was pretty disappointing so don’t expect to use the gym. Other than that, was okay~

Room was cheap but parking card didn’t work - took a while ti sort. Wifi did not work; no water in room & no cooking utensils despite advertising a kitchen. Spots of what seemed tk be dried blood on sheet which I only spotted in the morning as I collapsed into bed without checking.

I got a stay at this nice hotel at a well discounted price.

So the normal rate would be much higher.

However, if you could also get a ton of discounts to book and stay at this hotel, then i strongly suggest u take it.

The staffs were good and well mannered.

The room is huge with a lot of wide spaces.
Not your typical small cramped cheap rooms.

I mean for a room of two persons, u can actually fit another 10 or more.

The only downside, there is no bathtub, at least in my previously booked room. Not sure about other higher level rooms.

In a summary, totally recommended!

The room is very spacious with at-home design, but there were baby cockroaches and the door lock (the chain type) was half-broken, the in-room light is quite dim too. The car park is not user-friendly (have to check in first to get the room key card to open the barrier).

Overall a comfortable stay, except that the carpark gate is out of order. Hotel customers going in and out of the carpark need to wait for the concierge staff to manually lift the gate-bar!

Overall it's a nice spacious and family friendly hotel, there's a sofa bed in the room but it was locked, you may request them to unlock it and fit one or 2 more person in the room. The cafe was closed for CNY holiday, they provided fried bee hoon and nasi lemak for our breakfast.

Had a 3 days 2 nights stay. Room cleanliness was bad. Can see obvious dusts under the bedside tables. Sofa bed’s fabric was very dirty. Toilet’s plaster ceiling was ripped. Floor was sticky.

Requested for 2 double bedrooms upon booking. Came out to have 1 double bedroom and another one was with 2 single beds. One of us was bitten by bed mites badly all over the legs. This shows how dirty the bed was. I’ve encountered smelly odour from the pillow case (probably not dried thoroughly.

Also requested for 2 rooms on the same floor but was not granted. Noise barrier was pretty bad as car noises can be heard clearly even when windows and balcony doors were closed.

Carpark is so narrow and can barely fit a sedan car.

A malay guy receptionist (40s to 50s) was so unfriendly. We requested for him to give us a call when the room is ready and we went back to our car to take a nap. He did not called us. We only got to know the room is ready when we gave another call to the hotel.

Overall a really bad experience. Will never return nor recommend.

The room is spacious and it is a very good selling point. However, the walls are so thin that we can hear what’s happening outside and that affect our quality of sleep a lot. The bathroom doors need lubricant (say WD 40)to erase the creaking sound. The water tap has to be fixed to avoid it from “moving”. The drainage of the shower is not working and a small water pond appear after bathing.

However some things not fixed in the room - one of the bedside lights had no wire to it and therefore could not be switched on. the room safe handle was broken and it could not be locked even though instructions were followed, something wrong with the digital mechanism. Even though the hotel was informed nothing was done to fix it.

The soundproofing is really really bad, our room was at 4th floor and it feels like we're sleeping on the roadside, all the noises coming from road is so loud that my partner couldn't have a good rest. The windows material is low quality, very noisy even with the blackout curtains covered. The bathroom has no a single hook to hang clothes or towels. Very much disappointed.

Not convenience on the car park entrance. even have a card to scanned still need to talk thru speaker & view the card to the camera. Staff at the reception also not friendly. sharp at 12noon keep calling the room chasing you check out like every 5 mint call. We already tell packing & will be there at 12:30 pm, still continue to call every 5 mint, very annoying!!

Location of hotel is very convenient e.g there are eating stalls nearby with much variety, nearby bus stop at junction of Burma Rd & Jln Gottlieb (about a 10 min walk) has buses going into Georgetown and other places, if one doesn't mind walking a bit, one can walk to Guerney Paragon, Guerney Mall,more eating outlets & shops selling famous local products. Room cleaning service was good. Room was spacious & comfortable. Will definitely recommend this place to others.

The hotel room size is quite generous, hotel considerably new, but the material finish not properly done. The flooring use wood-look vinyl material, but the installation has been poorly done, so that the glue still there between the tiles... very annoying.
Location is close to Adventist Hospital (only 5 minutes walking distance), close to food seller...., so that even though the hotel did not provide food, we need no worry for food....

Unprofessional staff. Asked about availabity of metered taxi and staff offered to call one. Turned out it is a call taxi where driver refused to turn on meter and wanted 18myr for a ride that was 8myr by grab.
Asked about pop up market and staff said no such thing. We found it ourselves.
No wardrobes in master bedroom except a bed n bedside tables
No late checkout. Chargable after noon.
Noise from upstairs and next room.

Terrible experience. First room given had a very bad smell, we discovered the source from a dead decaying crow on the balcony. Also loads of pigeon poop on balcony. So I rang and asked for a new room, waited for some time for a response as management said full house. Finally gave us another room, much smaller than the one given before. And garbage from previous occupant was not cleared. Asked for another room and there was rancid cooking smells in that unit. Settled for the second choice but rubbish was never taken away till we checked out even though I rang and informed reception. We were given a bigger room the next day but again, had a musty unused smell. Security man( not reception) who showed us the room said will put in air freshener/ ozone thing to clear the musty smell. Very dissapointing experience and definitely not recommended to stay here.

Overall it's big and spacious. The bathroom, however, wasn't very satisfying. The staff who helped us check-in wasn't very friendly as well. They didn't provide us with individual shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Instead, they claimed it was 4-in-1. Make sure you bring your own! The towel and bed sheets have holes.. lol. It was an okay stay.

1) the staff were friendly and really willing to help
2) the room was huge, akin to a apartment.
3) room had quite some facilities (microwave oven, a sizeable fridge, a tv, sofa, and some cutleries. Didn’t have a induction cooker so probably have to bring your own if you’re intending to cook)
4) bed was huge and comfy
5) there’s two 24 hour convenience mart beside the building and a small food place so u can get your fix nearby
6) the place is relatively safe as it requires your hotel card to access the particular level

Cons:
1) the suite is situated in between two cemeteries so if you’re superstitious, do take note (didn’t affect us though)
2) the location is quite a distance away from Georgetown (you have to take a bus/ride share services to other places)

Awesome stay at Tropics Eight!

We truly enjoyed staying at Tropics Eight! The family suite is huge and clean. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Going around town is very convenient. 5-10mins to Gurney Plaza/Paragon and 10-15mins to Komtar! They even have promo code for Grab user! Anyway, since we are facing the main road, it can be quite noisy at night but overall it was an enjoyable stay! Will definitely recommend my family and friends to this hotel! :)

Great service by staff named Iman. As we arrived way ahead of check- in timing, he offered a room upgrade for a small fee and even gave us a complimentary breakfast coupon for our last day.
Not much of facilities in the hotel, but its great for a family or friends to be gathered here. Unfortunately, one of the door handle was faulty, and the aircon keeps shutting off by itself though no timer was set. And that instagram was unable to be loaded using the wifi.
Other than that, apartment is spacious

Great serviced apartment for our 28-day stay. Suite was spacious, well-equipped, clean, and bright. The management and all staff are excellent. Friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. Property is well-kept. Hawker centre, convenience stores, bakery, ice cream shop, and reasonable restaurants close by. For other excursions, it was easy to get around with GRAB (we did not have a rental car).
