Mopeds are brilliant, hire for 250 a day at reception.
The location is great. Much quieter feel and has some nice restaurants near by. 20 minutes away from the left side of the island where you get the best beaches, and 15 minutes away from the busier areas to the right like fisherman’s village. You get the best of both.
Pool the perfect temp, and great size for lengths.
Attentive reception staff with clean rooms, nice drinks and massages on the beach being consistent.
A beautiful beach overlooking the ferry if needed for any island hopping.
WiFi better than expected.

Lovely staff and resort. Nice beach. Close to Parlane Pier where our water taxi took us from Krabi. We were greeted with a cold drink and cold towels. Nice! Enough good restaurants and bars to walk to. Scooter rental close by. Mae Nam is a nice area. Good buffet breakfast at this resort. Nice room. The bed could be a little softer but then I got used to it. Good shower in the room. Walls should be painted. Enjoyed our stay.

This place is in a nice location, restaurant is good, beach is nice, right by the peir (dosnt effect the swimming)
Rent a scooter forsure to explore.
The rooms were a littlw outdated as are most. Rooms were clean but the building is so old it didnt feel 5/5 clean. Possible mold in walls that gave off a moldy smell. Staff sprayed the rooms and then it was fine.. shower was okay. Could use some TLC. Water pressure below average.
Pool was nice and gardens are beautiful. Shower by the beach to rinse off.
Id stay again.. but do hope the hotel updates some rooms better. Had ocean front and the door was very loose which caused trouble to open and close the door and to lock was annoying.

Coco Palm Beach Resort -would return in the future

We stayed overnight at the Coco Palm Beach prior to flying back to Bangkok on a trip to Koh Phangnan. The accommodations are clean and very well-maintained, and the breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of food, although heavily weighted towards western dishes. The omelette chef was a very welcome feature!
Transportation from and two the Samui airport was effortless and timely.
After Thong Sala beach in Koh Phangnan, Haad Maenam is a disappointment. The granularity of the sand is larger than the powder of Thong Sala, and a bit uncomfortable when walking.
For our purposes, Coco Palm Beach is an excellent choice.

Just returned after 11 nights at coco palm and we loved it. Ok their are a few negatives but before I go on we are already trying to book the same villa for 2026. Breakfast is fine and will fill your belly though it’s the same choice every day which can be repetitive but the egg station was always a hit. The beach is shell like and isn’t the best to be fair but it is right next to the ferry terminal literally 20 metres from the property to the checkin desk which I guess it’s so popular for people on a night stopover to other islands. Room service is amazing the food was stunning and reasonably priced ( no rip off price at this hotel I can assure you. The free shuttle bus to fisherman village is brilliant we went most days. There’s a great bar just 50 metres from the hotel and happy hour cocktails are amazing at just 2.50 pounds a throw. There is 2 supermarkets and 5 restaurants within a five minute walk. The staff at the hotel are lovely but we have encountered better smiles on previous visits to Thailand. All in all if your just after a beach holiday and want to stay put then this place won’t suit you but if your preference is to drop your case and want to explore the island then you would be hard pressed to beat coco on their prices. Lovely little place. We had a beach villa which was great and huge!
The village is so authentic.
The beach bar at the end of the beach I would definitely recommend.
We went to Ko Samui at the end of December and was lucky with the weather as the best time to visit is February/March we were told. So when checking about the weather always check Ko Samui NOT Thailand.
The people here were so friendly and food/drink was so cheap.

It is our 3rd visit to Coco Palms in 9 years. this visit we found the place to be as tranquil as we remembered. Our room is clean and comfortable, like most places they supply very fat pillows, which makes me feel like I’m being catapulted into the next galaxy when I’m trying to sleep! Pool was lovely and the lounge chairs surrounding it as well as the cushions wall seemed more recently replaced and updated which we appreciated. we had separate pool/beach and hotel room towels, which made it very easy to take towels to the pool and beach and still retain one in your room room. We liked the breakfast buffet. And found that everyone there was very kind and helpful.

All English channels on the TV are news, which is kinds of a bummer when you're on vacation. Ferry to Ko Tao and Ko Pha Ngan is literally next to the restaurant, making transfer super easy.

Nice but water problems and inaccurate room size

Nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast and great location for the ferry. However, the room was advertised as 33 metres but was more like 18 metres. They must be including the outdoor patio area which is completely misleading to guests. The room was tiny with no desk or chair, and nowhere to put your suitcase. Also, during my 3-night stay, we had no water 3-4 times and had to wait 1-1.5 hours for it to be fixed. This is disappointing and not good enough for when your time is limited to go exploring Samui during the daytime and to go out for dinner too. Please update the details in the description and fix the plumbing so guests are not left waiting and ringing reception for updates.

I’ve Stayed at many resorts in Samui - most have been a bit more central around Bophut, Bang Rak and Chaweng. This place is about 10-15 minutes from the “action” of these aforementioned areas.
At first I was hesitant but grew to really enjoy the tranquility of this beach front bungalow resort. It’s very charming - and the pool area And restaurant are very nice - as nice or better than many more expensive resorts. Probably because they have such a wide beac front area. Parking is easy. I switched from a superior bungalow to s deluxe and I felt it was worth it. Still extremely cheap for what you get. And I got a good Thai style with oil massage at the Coconut Masasge center on site for just 400 THB.
This felt like a more authentic and relaxing stay than almost anywhere else I e stayed

This was our second stay at Coco Palm in a beachfront bungalow (unit 124 this time, 123 last time). The stay was very nice with two exceptions- the bed was much to firm and uncomfortable, like sleeping on a concrete slab. The television was abysmal, no improvement since our previous stay in 2016. I rate the staff, restaurant and facilities excellent otherwise. Great location for a quiet, laid back stay in Koh Samui. If you are taking Lomprayah High Speed Catamaran to/from Chumphon, Koh Tao or Koh Phan Gan, the pier is a two minute walk.

Fake pictures and overpriced!

Please do yourself a favor and don't book this hotel. Specially bit on high season is completely overpriced and the advertising is misleading and deceiving. We arrived late at night in Koh Samui, we came to this around 1 am already and asked for seeing the rooms. NONE of them looked as the pictures and even the recepcionist told us that we should not expect the pictures to be accurate and that all other rooms were unavailable. We had no other choice but to stay one night at a very hard bed inside of a very small room that connects with the next bungalow (You hear everything from your neighbor) we paid for a superior instead of standard and we were still very far from a decent level of comfort expected from a resort. Hotels. Com should review personally the pictures because this property is clearly lying to everybody. Breakfast was good but it also doesn't includes cappuccinos so we paid extra 6$ for only two. Luckily we left the ne t day and we found an amazing property close to Bophut Beach. Go to Ban Kaew Villas!!!

We had an ok stay, we ate in the restaurant one evening and I was up all night with sickness and diarrhoea so never ate there again, very expensive anyway. We lived our room, it was very clean and the cleaners done a great job everyday. We wanted to hire mopeds but they never had any for us to rent on the first 2 days of our stay so we went else where to hire them. We found a lovely cafe with great prices called pancake parlour very close by to the resort. Pool was really nice and very clean. Absolutely no night life in the resort.

Off the Beaten Path, Great Value

Coco Palm Beach resort is a good choice for a secluded get-away at a reasonable price. It's located pretty far off the beaten path in Maenam, but is directly next to the northern pier and the Lomprayah ferry office. If you do stay here, I'd recommend renting a car, unless you don't plan on leaving the resort for your whole stay.
The staff was very helpful and friendly at all times; we were fortunate enough to receive an upgrade at check-in, and they also helped us organize our transport and reservations.
The bungalow itself was just okay. It was spacious and clean, with good air conditioning; however, the lighting was poor, the beds only average comfort, and the 1-inch gaps around the door frame meant the room was neither well-insulated nor mosquito-proof.
The facilities on site are quite nice. The pool is large and well cleaned, and both the beach and pool have ample amounts of reclining chairs and umbrellas. The in-house restaurant didn't impress us as much as other reviews led us to believe; you can get similar quality for much better prices at the variety of restaurants in the local neighborhood.

I booked a superior bungalow which was a nice size and about a 3 min walk to the beach, pool and restaurant.

The beach view from the restaurant is amazing and I enjoyed all my meals I had while there, it has a good range of both Thai and Western food. The breakfast buffet was basic but good with an egg station.

The resort is next to the Lomprayah Ferry Pier and has a few restaurants and shops within walking distance.

I would recommend staying at Coco Palm and will definitely stay there again on my next visit to Thailand.

Way overpriced family camp

For roughly $90 a night at the time we were there, it was way way over priced for what it is. It's very much like being back at family camp, old, and quite far out from anything. We stayed at multiple places around the island for less, and got a lot more for our money. If we had paid $20 a night, we'd of been satisfied, but not for what we paid. The beds were hard, the bathroom sparse, room smelled of smoke, and everywhere around the hotel, people were smoking regardless of any other people in the vicinity including children.
For the price they charge, they should be able to do some remodels and upgrades which this place would benefit from. There are also not enough sunbeds for everyone, and people 'reserve' them and then are gone for multiple hours.
Overall, the area is beautiful, the beach is great and is a great swimming beach compared to other places we'd been. But there are so many better options on the same beach strip for the price.

Hotel is right next to pier, making it easy to get away for day trips to other islands.
Very nice self contained area, which some restaurants and massage parlours availible in the area without being hectic.
Shuttles run twice a day to chaweng for when you do need to go out, alrhough the hotel bar is pretty good.

From the moment we got there the staff oozed warmth, hospitality and a sense of fun. They always greeted us with a smile and on my father's birthday presented him with a birthday cake with his name on it over breakfast and proceeded to sing to him. A moment he will never forget.

The bungalows (we stayed in the 'Superior Bungalows') were clean and spacious. The beds were very firm but nothing we couldn't handle. The aircon worked well. A few geckos popped in to say hi but that is to be expected.

The beach was convenient - not the bluest water but there were lots of sunbeds provided by the resort (though they could do with some new umbrellas; a few were broken). The pool was also great (particularly around 4pm-6pm when it was happy hour). The wifi was good in every area of the resort that we used it in.

Finally, the restaurant provided good food options at reasonable prices. If you walked 100-500m down the road though there were plenty of other fantastic and cheap food options (& massage parlours).

If you are expecting a 5-star resort, this isn't the place for you. If you, however, want exceptional value in rustic (but still very comfortable) bungalows, great food, plenty of swimming options and a wonderful quiet garden setting, then stay here.

Thank you to the beautiful staff (particularly the breakfast/lunch team) who made our stay so memorable.

Wonderful beach

This is predominately a German resort with a few other nationalities. It's in a beautiful spot with the perfect beach and Crystal clear water but it does get deep very quickly. The resort is very clean and the chalets are nicely spaced out. Breakfast is abundant and goes on forever!
Now for the not so good bits; we are staying in a superior bungalow and I am wondering what the difference is between this and the standard. The bed is advertised as queen size which in my book means 6 ft but the bed is actually a king size : 5ft. There is no mirror in the room just one in the bathroom which is so high I can just see the top of my head. The sink is so high I have to stand on tip toe to wash my face. The wardrobe only had 6 hangers in it but when I asked for ten more they were delivered immediately as were 2 extra pillows as there were only 2. There are no drawers for clothes so they had to stay in the suit case (apart from 2 small drawers in the wardrobe). If you don't want to wake up at dawn bring eye masks as there are no black out curtains. It's a lovely place and we are having a lovely time but I would not say it is luxury. There are quite a few restaurants outside and loads of massage parlour. Massage is very reasonable and very good. Just think they should take on board a few of these suggestions to make the guest a bit more comfortable especially the mirror!!!!!!! It's the small details that make the difference.

Good resort to get away

The resort itself is nice and the bungalows are clean and close to the beach. However, the pool is smaller than appears in the picture and the resort is in a pretty isolated part of the island, and far from the main road, so if you’re looking to walk around the island, this isn’t your best option. The staff was kind but not super helpful in giving us recommendations around the island. The resort offers only 2 bottles of water for free per day, and offers a free shuttle to other parts of the island at 2p and 5p, but you are responsible for your trip back. The taxi from Chaweng back to the resort cost us 500 baht. The ferry terminal next door has ferries to ko Tao which was super convenient for us because that’s where we were headed next.

In the end, this resort is good if you’re looking for a getaway and plan not on leaving the resort too often.

The bungalow was very nice and the resort excellent.
Generally the bungalow we stayed in could have been better maintained and benefited from a tidy up outside but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was great.
The scooter hire was easy and very cheap.
You can walk from the ferry pier in 10 minutes.

Really enjoyed the stay. Beautiful resort with great staff. Had a romantic beach dinner with my girlfriend. A great spot to see the sunrise and the beach is fairly quiet. The room was cozy and clean. Would recommend to friends and family.

Quiet hideaway

Good value, upgraded upon arrival, Superior bungalow was clean and comfortable and well presented for this type of property. Staff were unobtrusive and location was ideal - set in a beautiful established garden, private beach area, very tidy and well laid out grounds. Area a great discovery that felt more 'small island' and authentically Thai than other tourist-centred areas of Samui. An enjoyable stay, good massage options onsite and very nearby, good food within a minutes walking distance (Peace Kitchen!) if you want a break from the hotel restaurant! I'll be back :)

Great little resort, tucked away in Mae Nam!

When you get to the resort, you realize that being tucked away is a great thing! There is a large, beautiful, quiet section of Mae Nam Beach at the rear of the resort. Lomprayah Ferry is conveniently located next door! It's a nice resort. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I stayed in a standard bungalow my first two nights. Basic accommodations, nothing fancy and it worked fine. It reminded me of basic cabin you would rent at a campground in New England. The only problem I had: the air conditioner stopped working two nights in a row at about 2:30 AM. The first night, I let the staff know in the morning and they promptly fixed it. I requested a different bungalow and was only looking for another standard, but they were kind enough to place me in a Superior! The standard was fine - especially if you want to stay at a nice resort and save money. If you want a nicer experience, spring the extra money for a superior bungalow or better. Superior is significantly larger, updated and more amenities. Rent a car! If you plan to leave the resort (and I recommend you do), do yourself a favor and rent a car. Even if you're American and drive on the right (literally) side of the road - it's not that difficult to drive on Koh Samui. The resort is away from all of the craziness of the busy areas like Bhoput and Chaweng, but easy to get to by vehicle. I will definitely go back to the CocoPalm and highly recommend it for singles, couples and families!

Not worth the money (we stayed here for the full moon party)
The staff are nice, they rented us scooters to go around Koh Samui -- which was cheap and efficient.
The room is decent, but for the price it wasn't worth it -- its fairly run down.
The hotel wasn't very busy the times we were around -- ie. breakfast (which was decent) and dinner (not that great).
Although the view is decent, the lomprayah ferry is right beside -- makes you wonder about what you are swimming in. Definitely not the safest to walk along the sand at night.
That being said, it was very easy to hop onto the Lomprayah to Thongsala and then Thongsala back to the hotel.
I think Chaweng beach is very busy and the beach has nice sand with some good waves, Bophut a bit quieter and corally sand and the water is calm. Maybe next time, I would stay somewhere around that area.
Also, if you do happen to stay at this hotel, if you walk (NW) along the beach, opposing direction to Lomprayah you will fine this beach hut -- the owner and his employees are fun to hang out with. He has worked/owned this bar since he was a teen and he is now mid-aged and teaching his employees how to speak english to better serve his customers.

A beautiful place with a lot to offer. The bungalows are comfortable and spacious the beds were excellent. The staff were charming and went out of their way to help and even surprised my partner with a specially made birthday cake. A great stay in a lovely quiet resort on a fab beach. Will be going back for sure.

Nice resort, pool and great beach access

We only stayed 1 night but it was very enjoyable. Location is not the best but free shuttle services run twice a day to the busier areas of Koh Samui. Pool and bar area are lovely and all situated right on the beach.

Nice place.

Very nice reception. They brought us in a buggy to our bungalow on arrival and to the ferry when we were leaving. Breakfast was expensive but there's a cafe at the entrance that's nice and cheap. It was raining when we were there and the place seemed a bit remote. Probably fine if the weather is sunny. Rooms are clean and spacious. Would recommend it. The only down side was that we booked a taxi by email and it never showed up at the airport and we missed the shared shuttle while waiting around. Just a miscommunication. Nothing major.

Great family spot on a beautiful beach

Perfect location on a beautiful quiet beach and close to a variety of good restaurants and bike hire (opposite entry to hotel with very helpful staff). Particularly recommend John's garden for great food and fantastic outdoor setting. Hotel is next to a ferry wharf for easy day access to local islands. Walk along beach to Black Cat bar if u enjoy the best cocktails! This is our 5th visit to Coco palms and we will definitely return.

Hard music at evenings / nights

Near resort, there is a night club / dancing bar. Every evening starting 20:00 until next morning 04:00 there is hard music
which unables get proper rest / sleep. If you are looking nice, quiet resort to relax, DO NOT COME HERE !!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here,it is conveniently located next to the port for ferry to other islands. There are plenty of restaurants and bars out side also stores selling essentials. We, would go back again . Staff were very helpful, rooms were lovely, very nice beach .

Cocopalm is a nice place to stay at!

Best 3 star hotel I've ever been to.

Nothing bad to say if I tried.
I had a pool villa, it was amazing and so big. Thought someone had read my dreams when I saw it. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and the pool was wonderful. The pool is just right for small children with a shallow end and small paddling type pool. There are a couple of bins of toys for them to use so no need for buckets and spades.
The bar and restaurant did some lovely food really cheap and all the staff were so nice especially to my 4 year old son.
Loved the location, nice and quiet but just enough to have everything you needed.
The hotel and beach always seemed peaceful and never busy despite peak season and school holidays. Best 3 star hotel I've ever been to.
Also free hotel bus twice a day to Chaweng or stop anywhere on route.

Great value and peaceful vacation

Family trip. Hotel has a lot of potential. Lovely quiet area, beach access, decent breakfast, nice happy hour, sufficient sized pool. The staff were wonderful, very hard-working. Some improvements that the owners should take into consideration. Have an extra batch of towels ready to go so customers don't have to wait for 5 hours to get a beach towel. There is a policy for returning towels but not every customer follows it. Might as well have another set of towels in stock so everyone is happy. :)
