After checking in, it was obvious the room was not cleaned well. There was a dry spill on the floor and stains on the bathroom sink and desk. Once I checked out and had to go back to the room to retrieve a forgotten item, I saw a gentlemen only making the bed instead of stripping the sheets. This gave me the inkling that they reuse sheets if not obviously dirty. Lobby staff were excellent, however.

We returned to A,Arab after our European trip and after an 11 hour overnight flight we arrived at the hotel at around 8am and were exhausted. Rey on the front desk was marvellous. He understood our dilemma and went to work trying to find us the earliest check in. By 9.30am we had our room clean and ready for us. The room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable and enormous. The room was exactly like the photos and internet access was quick and reliable. We were within walking distance from Platinum mall and baioke towers shopping area (both excellent places to find a bargain).

Nice hotel. Very handy to Ratchaparup train station. Walking distance to Platinum Mall. Staff are very pleasant and attentive although it seemed only the lady on reception could speak English. We phoned up for some ice to be sent to our room and they kept asking what we wanted with our rice. Then someone turned up with a spare blanket. We did eventually get the ice though. The TV wasn’t working when we got to our room and unable to fix it they left us with a keyboard to navigate the channels.
The room was clean but the lights on one side of the bed did not work. We were given no soap or liquid body wash so we bought our own from the 7eleven close by. The meal selection was average so we ate out most nights.
Nice convenient place but could do with an upgrade.

This hotel is very nice and the staff is very friendly. The view from the rooftop pool and restaurant is great and the breakfast is tasty. I would have rated this hotel at least a 4, however the night before checking out the hotel informed me I would be charged 200BHT for a stained wash towel. The wash towel was not stained but was dirty due to the fact that my feet got dirty from walking in Temples with shoes and socks.

Bangkok was the first stop in our trip, and I really liked that this hotel was close to a lot of the activities we planned. The whole interior was top tier, and the rooms were so beautiful. It was such a relief to step into the quiet of the hotel after the hustle and bustle of all the activities. The rooftop bar was also such a great addition. We had drinks one night and just stayed for a few hours taking in the scene and lights. 10/10 would recommend!

This hotel is such a gem. Walking distance to Ratchaprarop station means hasle-free commute from the Suvarnabhumi Airport to the hotel. Aside from that, this property is a walkable distance to the Pratunam shopping district which is sooo appreciated, especially if you love their morning wholesale market.

Additional to the location, the hotel itself has warm and friendly front desks and an amazing hospitality (free afternoon snack prior to check in). The gym was pretty decent too.

Overall, I would definitely come here again!!

Overall a good experience, not without it's issues though. Firstly, our transfer from BKK airport to the hotel didn't show up, apparently because the member of staff left the company before booking. They did rectify this and refund our transfer booking. Secondly, there was some dirt or potentially human waste on the bidet hose, which clearly wasn't cleaned properly before we checked in. This was sorted after we raised it with the front desk.

Other than these issues it was a pleasant stay.

My stay was excellent and service is very good.

The rooms feel luxury and Hugh quality although they are a bit small but for the price it's completely worth it.

They also have a lounge area with free snacks and nibbles which was beyond simply basic nibbles rather delicious and extravagant.

Location is really good too, managed to walk to quite a few places and avoid the Bangkok traffic.

This hotel is very close to Siam Paragon and MBK. It has some options for food if you walk around. The BTS is also very close (a con if you need complete silence to sleep).

The room was very clean with only a few things looking out of place ( the air vents were hanging out of place a bit). The bed was comfortable. It is a firm but included a mattress topper. The bed is a bit high for those who might have mobility issues.

The only thing was that the tub and the shower curtain were a bit dirty. They also will not let you check in until 2pm which was rough after traveling for 24 hours. They did take our bags. We opted to have breakfast at the hotel and then headed to the mall.

The property itself is great. Modern lobby and modern rooms. I stayed in an Akara Deluxe suite which had a large king size bed, bath and separate toilet room. The bed was comfortable. The shower had excellent pressure. The TV was very difficult to get working and logged into any streaming services. Minibar was well stocked and reasonably priced. The pool and pool area were good and clean. The barracuda rooftop bar was very nice and again well priced. Buffet breakfast had good choice. Some issues that were poor were that the bed linen and towels definitely were not changed everyday despite the room being asked to be made up. Staff appeared more preoccupied with their mobile phones than opening doors for guests. You were able to smoke drugs on the rooftop bar also which was not ideal. Staff members also had a very poor grasp of English as when asked if we could book afternoon tea 4 times (also showing a photo of the afternoon tea) we would not get through to them. The hotel is 5 star rated however, I would not agree it is. Other than the above issues, it was a comfortable stay however, I would try somewhere else in Bangkok if I were returning.

Hotel is ideally placed on the direct airport rail link, and therefore easy to utilise the other rail/metro options.
Only negative was the fact that we had flown overnight and arrived at 0830am and the room wouldn’t be ready until 2pm.
To be fair the reception staff were really good allowed us to have a shower and they we were able to sunbathe by the pool.

Loved this hotel. Wonderfully clean with great staff and facilities. The decor is well thought out with an eclectic mix of modern and decoish style. We had a really spacious room with a jacuzzi bath, separate shower and separate toilet. Marble and wooden floors with rugs made it really homely and comfortable. The view from the balcony was great. Fabulous to have a bit of live music on the 2nd floor (violinists) and delicious snacks were served which were really welcome in the afternoon pre-dinner. Nice pool with a view and above that a great rooftop bar which also served a selection of different food. Can highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again on our return. Perfectly placed for the train journey from and to the main international airport at a very reasonable cost of just 40 baht!

When you arrived in your taxi, two men rushed out to help you with your luggage. Everyone was very, very helpful and polite. Our room was huge. Afternoon tea was complimentary. We walked a mile or two to two shopping malls. We had dinner above the rooftop pool, which was very nice.

The Akara Hotel is a beautiful, classic hotel located in the center of Bangkok. The decor is stunning and elegant with marble floors and exquisite wall coverings throughout. The hotel has 17 floors and two elevators. We never had to wait for an elevator. I don’t know how they managed this, but it was greatly appreciated! The breakfast buffet was wonderful with a wide range of variety and selections. In addition, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The view of Bangkok from the bar on the top floor was unbelievably beautiful and definitely a big draw for the hotel.
However, nothing is totally without a problem or two. The television in our room was not working. We mentioned this to the woman at the front desk. She had someone look at it, but it still had not been fixed. Rather than waste additional time (there was always a small language barrier), we decided to forego the news for the week. We also had an unfortunate experience at the Filipino restaurant in the hotel. The concierge recommended a certain Filipino dish for us to try. The dish was described on the menu in a clear and certain manner. When our food came, however, it was totally unlike the dish described on the menu. It was inedible, but due to the language barrier, we were unable to explain why we were unsatisfied with the meal. Would suggest the waiters clearly explain the food choices on the menu, especially if they are different than what is pictured on the menu.

Objectively, the room looks like the photos and it looks good. However, the hotel itself is much smaller than I thought. The lobby was tiny. Each floor has only 6 rooms. The pool is actually nice, but also, quite small.

The view we got, facing the train station, looks down on what seems to be a slum area. We kept our curtains closed the whole duration of our stay because the view looks very sad.

The room, while looking like the photos, feels old. There is a faint smell of the toilet in the room, which goes away after leaving the air purifier and AC on for a while, but it comes back everyday. The bathtub, while usable, leaks water very quickly, so we had to leave the tap on if we need to use it. The handle on the basin’s tap was loose and shown signs of multiple fixes, but it comes off all the time when I try to use it.

The room soundproofing is also terrible. You can hear the train noises from outside the window even with the curtain on. I can hear music from the next door neighbor very easily.

The one good thing about the room is the size. It is quite spacious.

The breakfast was deeply disappointing and inconsistent. There are quite a few things to choose from, however, none taste good. Even the fruits doesn’t taste good most of the days.

Overall, I did not have a 5-star experience. At the price point I think there are better options in Bangkok. However, it’s probably the most spacious at that price point.

Our stay at the Akara was amazing.
The location is extremely convenient and easy train and taxi access to all key locations across Bangkok. Defo recommend that you take the train from the airport as it’s only 35 mins and far less time and cost than taking a taxi.

Staff were generally amazing and attentive to all our needs. Checkin was easy. The only thing I would say is I would have liked to see an acknowledgement of our honeymoon in the room given that I provided easier notice of this to the hotel but this was a small point.

Property was excellent. Had a classic yet modern finish.

We definitely recommend Akara to anyone as a great place to stay whilst in Bangkok. It’s a beautiful place.

The only recommendation I would make is that they make pancakes fresh not in advance but this is true of most hotels in Thailand not just Akara.

Hotel is actually tugged away from the ever busy Pratunam area which was part of the reason why I chose this hotel too. Upon checking in, Khun Tee greeted us. Requested for an early check in but rooms were only available after 2pm which was good enough. Anyway, we managed to check in and the room was comfortable. Nice bed, pillows, towels. The room I stayed was a deluxe room and the design was quite unique as the WC is seperated from the shower area. The shower area (mini tub) is not suitable for the elderly as you have to make a big step in and out of the tub and it could be slippery after the shower.

As for the remaining services of the hotel, I was pretty happy as they provided free light refreshments between 2-5pm. The only setback is that they don't serve hot coffee or tea. Maybe that can be considered.
The other thing I like to point out is the birthday celebration for my other half. My friend who travelled with me also had his birthday celebration which was only 1 day apart from my other half. However, the housekeeping actually did a simple happy birthday decoration on the bed. However, my other half didn't get the decoration. I do appreciate the hotel took the trouble to provide a cake but I just wondering how come the decoration was inconsistent?

As a true blue Singaporean who is always on the look out for high quality stuff, this is definitely not a 5 stars hotel. Fall short of a 5 star hotel. Hotel lobby is small and compact, 15-20 people there easily looked crowded already.
Good service staff which will pull your luggage for you when you arrived.
Rooms are modern and clean. Housekeeping service is great, make your bed, mop dry your toilet, change towels, refilled new water, shampoo and toothbrush. However, the actual toilet is separate from the bathroom (completely across the room) which is a little odd when you have to walk across the room to wash your hands.
Also, not the best room views. TV isn't Android TV, is seemed like some China IPTV system with poor Internet connection. I had difficulty watching pirated Netflix app, ended up just decided not to turn it on.
Room with Bluetooth JBL speaker. Lights and air-conditioning console by the bed side to turn on/off.
The price of staying is expensive btw, I hope I could choose other cheaper hotels with better interior design. 5 nights around $600 with no breakfast.

This hotel isn’t bad, but it’s not 5 star worthy at all. I am unsure why it is listed as a 5 star. It’s definitely not a horrible hotel though, but for what they claim it is, it didn’t live up to it.

The wifi was very slow, tv didn’t work, the room had an odd smell, they only gave you one key, etc. kind of a weird set up where the toilet is on the opposite side of the room so you have to walk across the room Jusf to wash your hands. The staff was very nice and helpful, though!

I enjoyed my stay at Akara hotel in Bangkok. It’s conveniently located, well-designed, and the rooftop view is great. I liked the dining options and they serve free breakfast, along with free snacks at 2pm daily for hotel guests. The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful.

It was probably one of the worst stays i ever had at a bangkok hotel. TV was spoilt, wifi was slow, walls were paper thin, bath tub was cracked. Weird alarms going off at 8am in the morning which staff doesnt seem to care. Coffee was not restocked and ice bucket unwhashed. House keeping is really a joke. Please dont be fooled by all the random 5 star ratings (esp by all the thais). There is a lot left to be desired. Blinds cant be closed tightly and sunlight was blasting right through the gaps. Stay a night, and you can see why there are so many 1 star reviews for this.
