Hotel was great, not as crowded as other reviews. staff was very helpful. Food came quickly. Drinks were great as well. Beach was amazing and there was always room on the ferry. I do recommend a rental car to see local attractions- specifically El Yunque.

The resort facilities are very impressive. The activities were excellent. Going to the island each day rather than the hotel pools is how I would spend my vacation there if I were to go again. The resort pools are great but the island is excellent.

Everyone is friendly and willing to help. However food service and food quality in general was underwhelming. I would not recommend room service or Sicilia.

There are great restaurants offsite. I would recommend them over the resort if seeking an upscale meal. They’re fine for sandwiches, pizza, and breakfast.

The Secret Room is a must. Great show. The bioluminescence tour is apparently hit or miss. If you go there, or frankly anywhere, use an Uber. Cheaper every time and very responsive. If you go to dinner locally or to the Bioluminescence tour it will cost you $6-7. If you use their service it will cost you $60.

One last point I want to make and I feel this is important to take into consideration when you’re booking a room. If you are seeking an Ocean view and they put you in the building overlooking the harbor, it’s important to know that they are renovating a set of rooms from the hurricane destruction. They are using pneumatic Jack hammers for construction and will start at 8 am and it goes on alllll day. Not on Saturday or Sunday. Beautiful view. If not for the construction worth every penny.

My fiance and I traveled with our 10 year old. Absolutely beautiful views and resort! Food options were slightly limited and very expensive on top of what you’re paying to stay. A free shuttle service to the airport or local places/activities would’ve been nice. We Uber’ed everyday to snorkel, zip line, etc. the magic show was a favorite and it’s free! The staff was so friendly and welcoming!

I have been here three times now I had a couple of problems. No hot water, one of the rooms we booked had no shower curtain so my brother had to keep mopping the floor in his bathroom after every shower, and the food isn’t as good as it used to be.

The property is gorgeous. The activities on campus were wonderful. The food was a total disconnect from the price. While I can handle mark up to some extent within a resort, some of the restaurants had outrageous pricing and the food was mid at best. And there no healthy options that were not sit-down meals.

The private beach was not \"tranquil\" as it was advertised. They had a DJ set up blasting music like it was some night club, about an hour after we arrived. We had been listening to the waves and wind in the trees, then it was ruined. This is supposed to be a 4 star resort, not a public beach in Miami.

Beautiful large room and bathroom, with comfortable bed. Cafecito, where we had delicious coffee every day (it is open 24 hours!). Many pools, open till 10PM--wonderful for a night swim, a private island with a free ferry, an addictive waterpark (couldn't pull the kids away!), and delicious food. And the grounds are beautiful.

Only problem is that the lines for food could be quite long, and many of the restaurants need reservations.

But overall it was a great stay (3 adults and 2 older kids)--we would definitely return.

There was something for everyone. Enjoyed the private island. My son and I played basketball for hours while my wife soaked up the sun on the beach. Enjoyed the live music while hanging out at the bar. Hot tubs and pools everywhere making everything so convenient.

We (3 adults and 2 children, 10 and 13) had a wonderful time at El Conquistador. The room (with a balcony and ocean view) was huge, with plenty of room for everything. (One update needed--a large 'magnifying' mirror by the sink)
Everything was nice and clean, too.

As for the resort itself, it is HUGE! It is actually on three levels. We stayed on the top level, where most of the restaurants, shops, and activities are, as well as the wonderful coffee bar, Cafecito.

But many opt to stay at the lower level, to be near the amazing waterpark and the free ferry to the beautiful Palamino beach.

Both of these (free) activities were great. The kids couldn't get enough of the waterpark!
Also there were many pools, even open after dark! A real treat...

There is so much more I could write, but I will finish by saying that it was a great experience for us all--both kids and adults.

As for the food, it was overall, excellent. Some of the reviews panned the food, but we disagreed and ate at a different restaurant almost every night.

Palomino Island is where it is at! Fun boat ride to get there and chairs/umbrellas all set up when you arrive—no extra charge.
Las Vistas section has newest rooms- good size, big bathroom. Food was solid at resort but preferred to go to dinner off the property. Check out La Estacion!

We enjoyed all of the amenities. However, we were really disappointed and frustrated when our room was not ready - even after check out time. Bell hop took all of our luggage so we couldn’t use the pools. Horrible service at restaurant outside of front desk. Front desk provided incorrect info and unhelpful. We were told all but two restaurants require reservations. Untrue. Told the ferry runs every hour, but it ran every half hour. The front desk clerk was sick and constantly wiping her nose with a tissue as I checked in. Then later masked up. Could never reach concierge by phone to make a reservation even if I wished.

Restaurants overall had slow service. This is 100% a family resort. We went for our daughter’s senior spring break and there was very little for the girls to do. There was one dance club but you had to be 21 despite the drinking age being 18. Every space, every activity is for family’s with younger kids. There were kids everywhere!!!!! Check in is less than desirable

A resort of this caliber should have a high level of service and sadly, it fell very short. Resort is beautiful, huge but beautiful. Service times took forever and even when there was finally service, everyone was just going through the motions. No one was pleasant. I’m all about first impressions and the front desk didn’t do so great. Not welcoming at all. We celebrated a birthday and they did not have a candle! I mean.. vacations usually include birthday celebrations, so the la k of candle for my young child was disappointing. Besides the slow service, everything else was great. Plentiful chairs and towels, good food, lovely grounds, fun waterpark, nice rooms (marina side), nice beach, fun ferry ride. I’d recommend getting a private palapa on the beach.
Service was just really not it.

I had high hopes for El Conquistador, but that was not to be. Overpriced! Everything was overpriced. Long lines to get a warm cup of coffee or ice cream. Waitstaff needs training in customer service. Food was subpar.

While Palomino Island is beautiful, the line for the ferry was long both ways. Wasted lots of time.
There’s no beach to walk on and unless you rent a car, you’re pretty much stuck there.

Puerto Rico is great, but I’ll stay in Isla Verde next time. Much better options and close proximity to everything.

The room I was in was dated in decor and the bathroom was old tile and seemed like it need a good update. The grounds were beautiful with flowers, bushes and greenery of all kind! The buildings themselves on the exterior could have been better maintained. For example, a lot of rust in areas, exposed old wood, and chipping paint.

This place is truly beautiful—amazing views, a privileged location, and surrounded by plenty of greenery. The setting itself is peaceful and enjoyable.

However, my biggest concern was the cleanliness of the room. Before our arrival, we contacted the hotel regarding my wife’s skin condition, and we were assured that everything would be properly taken care of. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The bed sheets appeared dirty, as if they had not been replaced.

We contacted the front desk, but the response showed little to no empathy—there wasn’t even a simple apology.

Additionally, housekeeping was very poor throughout our stay. By the second day, there was no body wash, and even after contacting the front desk again, the issue was not resolved. After four days, we still didn’t have soap.

Overall, while the location and views are great, the lack of cleanliness and poor service made our experience disappointing.

Would I come back? Unfortunately, no. I would choose another place to stay on the island next time

The resort is amazing, we enjoyed Palomino Island and the main pools immensely. Overall we had an awesome trip, but it wasn’t without a few “not so great” moments.
Check in wasn’t great, we had booked 2 queens and were placed in a King. The gentleman at the front desk was insistent I booked a king until I showed my email confirmation showing we booked 2 queens. He was very short with me and was not friendly. I’m also used to some directions to the room, he quickly brushed me off and told me to go find a bellhop.

The funicular had broken down twice over two consecutive days and the timing with the last shuttle from Palomino island the water park closing created a very long wait time. Normally when both were running the wait wasn’t too bad at all.

I highly recommend making dinner reservations before your arrival, especially if traveling during a busy time like spring break. I had made reservations, but saw numerous people trying to get a table and turned away.

We also had attempted to call the concierge at various times and the calls were not answered. We had to go to the concierge desk for questions or help.

Concierge desk was extremely helpful though in getting an earlier shuttle to the airport when our flight was canceled and we had to get on an earlier flight.

All in all. Wonderful trip and experience for the most part. Be prepared to wait in lines. Highly recommend if you can tolerate some wait times.

I was worried about the boat lines to Palomino Island during Easter Week/Spring Break. I shouldn't have, as they has boats every 30 minutes. Arrive by 11am to get a lounge chair on the island. Otherwise, lounge chairs free back up around 1:30pm or 2pm. Island was great. Hotel was at full capacity. Up top pools were packed, but the water park had space. Great place for families, as evidenced by how many there were. Lots of traveling up and down and up and down. I found the hotel restaurants outrageously expensive - even more than Hawaii. We never ate at the hotel. However, we walked 5 minutes outside the ferry launched and found 5 local restaurants that were more local, including one really local called El Ricar (I think). Definitely try to stay in the Marina area. Overall, there's lots to do and the hotel is huge. But you definitely pay, which adds up via taxes, resort fees and parking ($20US inc taxes). That said, there aren't too many resorts around, so would recommend, but know going in the place is on par with US / California type prices.

We are just coming back having stayed 6 nights. Our room and the whole gigantic property was very clean, with a beautiful view, the amenities were never ending and all the staff was very nice. We were there during spring break which was a very busy time. They do seem to be understaffed everywhere. Drinks and food took a long time so just prepared for that. Concierge is helpful however they always only had 1 on so the phone was never answered if you called them. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The funicular, while novel, meant getting from one end of the resort to the other was often a slog of 15-25 min and lines got long as spring break hit peak.

The room was outdated, but mostly very clean. There was some sort of bug that kept making an appearance in the fridge cabinet. The WiFi was terrible. When we checked in there was no explanation about the room charge maximum and we were told when getting drinks one day that we couldn't charge to the room until we fixed. The \"bracelets\" served no purpose other than opening our door. We never tapped it on anything else. And they were bulky and not attractive.

We enjoyed our stay! We loved how close we were to the water park but be ready to walk as this resort is spread out a lot. The food was ok (suggest you go off resort) probably most frustrating was the service but it is to be expected with how many people are staying there. It is slow so have patience. All the workers were very friendly and helpful to navigate around the property. If you’re a golfer you have to check out and play their course! Amazing views and the course is pretty challenging. Make sure to head out to the resorts Island. We finally caught some good sun rays after it rained the first couple days. Overall we would suggest this to anyone with small kids and would return.

I’m really on the fence about this place. It’s a beautiful location but it has some faults that really impact it negatively. Rooms old/dirty, cable cars awful, terrible wait for the ferry, parking is a nightmare and prices are terrible. I understand it’s a resort and you will be paying resort prices but why is it necessary to wait in line for 30 minutes for a $8 cup of coffee. Nothing special about it either, should have been complimentary. Besides updating the rooms they really should work on training the staff. Most are cold and don’t care. Many times it seemed as if they were bothered to do their job. With the cost to stay at this location service should be top notch. The beach is nice but be prepared because getting back and forth will be a full day adventure.

Slowest service. Better for families with kids . Resort has unsupervised children running everywhere! Amenities such as pool tables, ping pong no activity specialist! Games are missing paddles cue balls . Service at pool bars poor ! Takes 20 minutes to get a drink . No waitress service outside at pools . Food in restaurants not great but costly . No water coolers around pool area . This property is for family with kids that just want a water park You need to pay for tennis or pickle ball . Only one 18 and over bar ! Nightly entertainment was good however you had kids running around doing gymnastics in the middle of the floor ! Hard to enjoy !

I stayed the whole week, the first 5 nights for a work conference, and the other 2 in a different room as I had to book separate. The garden room I had for the first 5 nights was outstanding! Modern, well kept, spacious…gorgeous! The ocean view one was not good! The bath tub was dirty, soap scum on the walls, the carpet had a musty smell through the hallway and room. I got disappointed with this room after experiencing the garden one on the other side of the resort. The view from the balcony was the beautiful highlight of this room.

I have to point out that the amenities like the pools, cabanas, restaurants on site, and the private island are all fantastic, the next time I stay, I will be sure to have a room on the “good side”.

Some of the staff are very friendly, others certainly show they’d rather be somewhere else! During a conference event/reception, one of the bartenders literally said “Jesus Christ” with extreme annoyance when I asked for Coke Zero, he didn’t have any so offered Diet Coke, and I said I’d prefer a regular coke then. Unsure why my request caused such annoyance but he certainly made it very evident. With the high value that accommodations, food and stay are here, and the prestige of the resort, I honestly expected a bit better customer service. Jan at the front desk and David in the cabanas were the highlight of kindness and helpfulness, great people.

Great spot for a conference, excellent customer service and atmosphere. Views are breathtaking. Waterpark is amazing for kids. Food is the only thing that needs improvement.

Really nice resort, i would’ve given this a 4 star rating, but the couple staying in the room next to us was drunk, throwing up, arguing, loud, i had to call the front desk 3 times, we didn’t get to sleep until 3:30am.

Better control of alcohol and security or staff should do rounds throughout hallways for several reasons.

Also due to water shortages the water park slides did not open.
