Beautiful, large resort property located in Rio Grande! Beach is gorgeous, pools are well-maintained, rooms were very clean, and all staff that we encountered were lovely. As with many vacation destinations, food and beverage is pretty pricey, and dining off-property is not easy without taxi/ride share or rental car. However, options on property were plentiful and everything was tasty. Would recommend this spot to others!

Omg this was the best resort ever!!! From the beach to the pool it was certainly worth every single penny! The staff was so nice from the guest services to the door man who brought up our luggage to the people who were cleaning our rooms! Everyone is amazing we will definitely be back in the future!!!

We stayed at this resort hoping for a relaxing getaway and left disappointed.

The property is about 45 minutes from the airport, which we accepted because we expected a great resort experience. Unfortunately, the problems started at check-in. No one explained the property, restaurants, transportation, or amenities, so we spent much of our stay learning how things worked from other guests.

Our room was not properly cleaned. The bathroom rugs were dirty and wet, the room felt damp, and there were gnats throughout the space. We had to return to Guest Services to address the condition of the room.

Several staff interactions were also frustrating. We were told food purchased elsewhere on the same resort property counted as \"outside food\" and could not be brought into certain areas. We also encountered staff who came across as rude rather than helpful.

Because the resort is far from other dining options, guests rely heavily on the on-site restaurants. We found the food underwhelming for the price. One of our better meals was at Iguana, a restaurant that requires a shuttle ride, but we only learned about it from another guest because resort staff never mentioned it.

The biggest issue throughout our stay was the lack of communication and cleanliness. For the nightly rate, plus the additional cost of meals and drinks, I expected much better service, cleanliness, and hospitality. The property has potential, but I would not return.

This was our first time staying at this resort/hotel, and it was definitely great. The kids had a blast, definitely kept the kids busy all day and best of all, the beach was literally seconds away. There was also things to do outside of the hotel(about 15 minutes drive). The staff were super friendly and helpful.

The overall customer service was amazing. We travel a lot, every two months. The cost to stay here being it not all inclusive is way to high. This is a remote area. Food and drinks way too expensive and the lack of free night time entertainment are items that made us not want to return. Way too expensive for a mediocre resort.

Overall, our stay was excellent. Our arrival was frustrating, as we were hit with unexpected fees and the room we reserved was unavailable. However, we were given an upgraded suite for the first night and then moved to an upgraded oceanfront room the following day at no extra charge. We were also given a complimentary breakfast to compensate for the troubles.

If you want to stay at resort where pools and restaurants randomly close at odd times, elevators that do not work, being proposed by hookers each night, and have hundreds of drunk 15 years old running at 3am this is the place to be. Beautiful beach but that is it, and its public.

Our room appeared clean overall; however, the large area rug had not been thoroughly vacuumed, and I even found a strand of hair caught between my toes while walking barefoot. The king-size bed was also disappointing, as it sagged noticeably on both sides. This made it uncomfortable to sleep and prevented us from lying comfortably together, as we were constantly pulled back toward our respective sides of the bed.

The resort itself was beautiful, and we especially enjoyed the dining options. Since we love eating and having drinks outdoors whenever possible, 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill quickly became our go-to spot throughout the stay. The relaxed atmosphere, outdoor seating, and convenient location made it a great place to unwind.

For breakfast, we dined at Roots Coastal Kitchen, which offered a continental breakfast for $25 per person or a full breakfast buffet for $35 per person. There was a good variety of options available, making it easy to find something for everyone.

We also enjoyed dinner at Amaya, which features modern Spanish cuisine, as well as CAICU Bar & Tapas, where we sampled several flavorful Asian-inspired small plates. Both restaurants provided enjoyable dining experiences and added to the overall quality of our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The beautiful setting, good dining, and friendly staff made for a positive experience, and we appreciated the relaxing atmosphere throughout our visit.

Just enjoyed a great week at Wyndham Rio Mar PR. Our room had a beautiful view of the rainforest and waking up to the birds and critters outside made each morning wonderful. The pools and beach area we absolutely fantastic. There was never a day where it was too crowded to enjoy using the amenities. Areas for improvement would be getting the elevators in the east wing working properly. One was down and one other one would go to random floors. Food was on the upper end of what I wanted to spend but everything we had was great quality and taste so I can't really complain. The adjacent areas like Luquillo beach was fun to visit and not too far from the resort. We agreed that we would definitely come back, and bring more family for the next trip.

This hotel was FANTASTIC for both adults and kids (4yo and 8 yo). Having incredible pools (including water slides) and the beach within steps of each other was a luxury. There wasn't a possibility for the kids to be anything other than elated the entire time. The location of the hotel is also incredible. Close to the rainforest and an easy drive into San Juan. Very accommodating for rental cars. 100% recommend.

The room smelled like mildew! If you’re a minority you will feel outcasted at this place . A bunch of hidden fees after we paid up front 1600 to our surprise we were told we had to pay an additional 700 for resort fees for only 3 days! The place is nice but the judgement I received because of my skin color I will not come back to this place !

We had a wonderful stay! The beach was beautiful, our renovated rainforest-view room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with courtesy champagne upon arrival and even received early check-in. A special thank you to Juan Pablo at the buffet and Teddy at the 5 O’Clock Somewhere bar for their outstanding service and local recommendations. The food was good but a bit pricey; my only suggestions would be to offer more authentic Puerto Rican dishes and improve room soundproofing, as there was occasional noise from housekeeping and minor repairs. Overall, we had a great experience and are definitely looking forward to future visits.!l

We had a very comfortable stay at the Wyndham Resort in Rio Grande. The room and bathroom were both extremely spacious, which made the stay feel relaxing and luxurious. We were upgraded to a pool/ocean view room, and the views added so much to the experience.

The resort has great amenities and overall felt like an easy, enjoyable place to spend a few days. One thing to keep in mind is that rooms near the pool area can get a bit noisy at times, so if you’re looking for a very quiet stay, it may be worth requesting a quieter room location. Overall, a great stay and a beautiful property.

The only thing that was personally a bit displeasing to me was that the resort had somewhat of a “Vegas” vibe , with the casino, club atmosphere, and loud music. That may appeal to many people, but if you prefer a quieter, more laid-back environment, it’s something to keep in mind.

We tried most restaurants on property and all were fantastic. If I had one complaint, and this seems to be most people’s complaint, it would be that everything is very, very expensive. I went on a Catamaran trip and learned more about the area and felt more welcome in the few hours I spent with them in the whole week at the resort. Prices are outrageous. Had a server at a cabana that was rude, didn't care about taking care of customers, and only cared about reinforcing a $75 minimum per room. Rooms were clean, however resort definitely needs some work and upkeep. I was there for a wedding, and honestly I would love to return to Puerto Rico but not Wynham Rio Mar

Wyndham Grand was everything we expected it to be based on reading all of the reviews and following along on social media for quite a while! It was the most perfect mid-size resort for a family with two young kids (ages 6 and 9) who need the right amount of entertainment without an overstimulating, mega resort style experience. Also, someone who cares deeply about the environment, I very much appreciated Wyndham's commitment to their local ecosystem, especially the well-being of the leatherback sea turtles :). The only thing that could use some improvement would be the restaurant service (Roots is very, very slow). That did not impact our overall experience by any means though, and we absolutely plan to be back and have already recommended the resort to a few friends :).

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beach resort! From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and offered breathtaking ocean views. Waking up to the sound of the waves each morning was pure relaxation.

The beach was clean, peaceful, and just steps away from our room, making it easy to enjoy long walks and sunset views. The resort amenities were top-notch, especially the pool area, on-site dining, and daily activities. Every meal we had was delicious and beautifully presented.

What truly made this stay special was the attention to detail and the genuine hospitality from everyone on the team. This resort is the perfect place to unwind, recharge, and enjoy paradise. We can’t wait to return!

they tried to tell us they were upgrading our room from a king & jungle view (what we asked for) to a double queen & pool view. We expressed that wasn’t an upgrade for us. They fixed the it and gave us a room with a garden/palm tree view, with the overpass of the hotel in front of us. and a king bed. The AC and slider were broken, both fixed quickly. the pools and bar areas were excellent, couldn’t have asked for better on that. the children’s pool is awesome and we definitely want to come back with our son. and we will without a doubt know NOT to get the buffet breakfast the hotel restaurant offers. it was $75 for two coffees and an extremely mediocre buffet. the fresh fruit was the redeeming quality of that but absolutely not worth the steep price. housekeeping was amazing. unfortunately for them we did not realize how little cash is used at the resort and we unable to leave a large tip bc of this. so make sure you have exact cash for your housekeepers! I will pack an envelope next time. overall a great experience and we would return.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful trip to Puerto Rico, and loved staying at the Wyndham. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating, our room was clean, modern, and large enough for our family. The on-site restaurants were delicious. The prices were on-par with a nice resort. We used the pool, which was lovely.

The only complaint was that many other guests would go down and “reserve” pool chairs by laying an item of clothing on them, then return hours later. The hotel staff confirmed the only way to reserve chairs at the pool was by renting a cabana, however they did nothing to enforce this. A public posting of these rules at the pool may help defer this behavior, and I made that suggestion to the staff at the front desk.

Other than that one issue, the resort was beautiful and exactly what we wanted, and we would definitely come back!
