Look at Your Key Card Closely
The location of the hotel is great! Less than a block to St. Mark's Square and Cathedral. There are plenty of dining options nearby. However, I lost my room key and they were besides themselves because the room number is engraved into the room key card. I have NEVER stayed at a hotel that has the number in the key card. It is a ridiculous practice!

All the staff operate with a very high level of customer service. My room was comfortable, beautiful and very clean. It's in a fantastic location for restaurants, site seeing and ferries. I like that you drop your key at the desk with them before exiting each time. They not only get to know their guests, but as an individual traveler it felt like another safety check for me 24/7.

Great location. On the canal with direct access to courtyard by water taxi. No dragging luggage through narrow crowded streets. 2 minutes to St Marks Square. 5 minutes to Rialto Bridge and everything you want to see is within a 10 minute walk. Perfecto. Will stay here again in our next trip.

Hotel Dona Palace was a great place to stay. I loved having a private dock. Our trains were delayed over 5 hours so, after a long day of travel from Capri it was great to have a water taxi that pulled us right up to the hotel. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and the patio was a pleasant place to sit and watch the gondolas go by. Breakfast had a nice variety in a lovely room. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I booked a short weekend stay here for my wife’s birthday and couldn’t have been happier with our stay.
The location is extremely convenient to Piazza San Marco and is still a short walk to the Rialto Bridge area.
Our room was a very good size, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a nice little balcony with a view of the canal where we could watch the gondolas float by.
The breakfast buffet was spectacular with a large assortment of pastries, fruit and juices and included some egg and meat options as well.
The hotel really made my wife’s birthday special as well with a wonder full dessert with a birthday candle at breakfast and when we returned to the room after a morning tour we were greeted with an ice bucket of Bellinis and a nice note wishing her a happy birthday.
I will book this hotel again in a heartbeat on our next trip to Venice.

Nice boutique hotel but no real public space. Solely an outdoor terrace on the canal but kind of run down. We took their best room, top floor with balcony and outdoor jacuzzi. The room was nice but the space a little odd. Breakfast food was pretty poor and the dining room not very charming. Service was excellent with staff attentive, friendly, and efficient.

This is a very nice hotel. Our room was clean, with good air conditioning and quiet. Italian hotel rooms are generally very small by American standards and this property is no different, however it was comfortable for two adults. The bathroom itself is fairly big but it does not have countertop to layout all your toiletries and the shower is a bit small but we managed just fine. The shower has plenty of hot water and has good water pressure.
The staff is very attentive. The location is less than 5 minutes to San Marcos square.
They have a nice outdoor patio on a small canal where you can enjoy an aperitif before or after dinner. They offer an outstanding breakfast in a beautiful dining room.

Stayed here for two nights while in Venice. Amazing staff, and very good breakfast. Everyone was so helpful and courteous. The room was clean and the bathroom and shower was also very clean and modern. I would def come back to this hotel. It's situated in the middle of everything and about a 5m walk from the st. Basilica. Busy area with a few restaurants around.

We had a hard time finding the hotel but it was beautiful and the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Room was big and gorgeous but we could hear noise outside until 1:30 in the morning. Sounded like people moving metal furniture around and scratching the ground. Water taxi directly from the hotel to airport was amazing.

Fabulous from entering the foyer, beautiful surroundings. desk staff, helpful and friendly. luggage immediately taken to our room. Our room number 45 was big, bath, two sinks, lots of toiletries. Air conditioning, huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was incredible, again staff attentive and friendly.

This is a great hotel with friendly staff. Location is close enough to St Marks Square without having the noise and people traffic. Breakfast and bar were great. We stayed in two different rooms. Both well appointed. Another couple in a third room traveling with us and it was beautiful. If you are using the room with roof top hot tub, be advised it is NOT heated. Would probably choose another room there next time. And we would definitely stay here next time.

THe hotel is a great location. Staff was nice. Room is nice size and looks nice. The bed however is hard not comfortable and pillows are bad. Had problem with toilet and couldn't call down to get help. Had to go downstairs to front desk and get help as toilet wouldn't stop flushing. Very low ceilings.

This was a delightful stay. The hotel was very well located, (2 mins from St Marks Sq.), quiet and easy to find. Our room was huge and warm with a comfortable clean bed, the bathroom (also warm) was a great size, clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. Breakfast was typically continental with a bit extra (Prosecco), bread, cheeses, pastries, cereals, bacon, eggs, fruits etc. They have a lift which was also very useful. The staff couldn’t have been kinder, as a birthday surprise they gifted a cake & candle at breakfast and two Bellini bottles chilling in our room on our return, I was very taken aback they had worked out it was my birthday and it made my day, ‘Thank you’ staff at Dona Palace. They were also very helpful with any questions or needs you may have. I would definitely return here again.

Best located hotel near S Marco Square. Marco and Stephane were so gracious and accommodating during our stay. The Royal Suite was spectacular with very high ceilings, beautiful marble bath and view of the canal.

Lovely Venice ... and a Trip to the Emergency Room
Not only was Dona Palace lovely, comfortable, perfectly located and staffed with outstanding personnel, they went above and beyond in the following way ... I became ill and in severe pain during my stay at 0400 in the morning. A doctor was called in and arrived within 40 minutes was at my bedside administering pain meds. A water ambulance was called and I was taken to emergency. All the while the staff were extremely helpful and concerned with my well being. When I returned hours later, still unwell and in bed, the desk rang and asked if they could do anything and sent up teas and mild food that I was able to consume. My sister and I will always be grateful for the professionalism and kindness shown to me by the staff at the Dona Palace.

The breakfast has quite a few options but overall not bad considering it is part of the stay. My room which is the royal suite is the largest on the house. It has a tub big enough for 2 guests and separate shower. The view is amazing seeing the portion of the canal. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable space. The location is perfect distance to explore St. Mark’s Square and San Marco area. It is conveniently walking distance to Dorsoduro, Cannaregio, and Guidecca averaging 10 - 20 minutes depending on how fast you walk. There are enough options to eat around either restaurant or small shops. Overall rating is 9/10.
