One of the best.

The Mercure Hotel, Erfurt is one of the best I’ve stayed in. The staff were extremely helpful, to the extent of posting a phone charger we left behind to our next destination as well as giving us directions, suggestions for restaurants and sights to see. The hotel was very quiet but very close to all the places we wanted to see. It’s also an easy 10 to 15 minutes walk to the station. The beds and rooms were very comfortable and a good size. Best of all, the mini bar was complimentary and replenished each day and they even swapped bottles of beer for mini bottles of wine. A great little hotel.

Stay 3 nights while visiting the Christmas markets. Was a 10-minute walk from the train station and then another 10 minute walk to the Christmas markets and the surrounding area where the main tourist attractions are. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast included was a bonus.

Perfect Location!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend. The location is perfect, just down the street from a square with great restaurants. The hotel staff was friendly and answered all questions. Parking was also very easy with their garage. Just be sure to note that they do not have air conditioning in the rooms. The staff will provide fans and the windows can be opened, but in the heat of the summer the rooms can get quite warm. Also, if you're not a heavy sleeper request a room on the inside, not facing the street.

The only problem I had was the bedding.
In short pyjamas, I sweated all night with the very warm duvet/doona/bed cover.
The next night I tried sleeping naked, but again I sweated all night.
There was no alternative lighter bedclothes, for example a lighter duvet or a single blanket.
Without the supplied bed covering it was too cold to sleep.
I do understand it was very cold at the time in Erfurt.
That was the only issue I had.
The hotel had a great breakfast and I enjoyed it there. Erfurt is an extremely beautiful town well worth the visit.

Great hotel in great location at great price! We did have tea making facilities provided which is very unusual abroad and very welcome. No air con so can be a little hot in the room at night but this is our second stay at this hotel and won't be our last. Breakfasts a bit expensive so we chose to go out every day. Easy to get to from airport and station and lots of restaurants and sights within a few minutes walk.

Don't let the price for breakfast surprise you!

Breakfast was not included in the Price, nor parking, and both made the total Price for staying at the hotel much higher than expected when we booked the room. We therefore recommend guests to have their breakfast elsewhere, in one of the restaurants close to the hotel, unless you gladly pay 17 Euros per person for breakfast, which is the Price the hotel charges.

Fantastic Stay

This hotel is very well located. There are many places to eat close by and you can walk everywhere. Erfurt is a beautiful place and is definitely worth seeing. Gorgeous cathedral and churches. Lots going on in the evening close to the hotel - bands and entertainers in the Weinegmarkt. Cobble streets and with neat trinket shops and many great beer gardens!

MERCURE AT ERFURT'S OLD TOWN

Located in the heart of the Old Town of Erfurt, and at a walking distance to the Cathedral of Virgin Mary dated from 1260 , beautiful gothic architecture, magnificent, great. Also paintings at the City Hall, Rat Haus , and many sculptures and interesting buildings, and places like where Goethe produced most of his magnificent Literature.
Two of the five days we were there were very cold, the other days was sunny, and also many excellent stores for all kind of german products

I was in Erfurt for a short business trup. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating even to some needs of ours that were not common. We had two dinners in the hotel restaurant because our work required us to eat very late in the evening, and both were excellent. The location, right by Anger Square, is very convenient and very close to most of the major tram lines. I highly recommend the Mercure.

No air conditioning

I wish I could recommend this hotel. It is situated almost at the very heart of Erfurt’s beautiful old town. It is about 10 min walk from the main station. There is a supermarket around the corner (open till 8pm). The choice you get at breakfast is phenomenal (but at 17 Euro per person also phenomenally expensive, and if you have a small appetite like me you will leave feeling a bit robbed).
The reason we cannot recommend this hotel is the missing air conditioning. This is quite a surprising omission in a newly built 4star hotel. We happened to stay there during a heat wave (36C outside) and naturally had to leave the windows open at night. This didn’t make a big difference to the temperature though. It stayed very hot in the room, certainly around 30C.
The street down below is a small one-way street but it was incredibly noisy all through the night and once the night noise was over the bread van arrived at 5am, closely followed by the road sweeping machines. Anyone walking past chatting in the night could be overheard very clearly in our room, cars and motorbikes almost invariably revved up right outside the window. In other words – it was a bit of a nightmare.
Having said that, Erfurt is a wonderful place during the daytime and I can only warmly recommend it to anyone.
If you do book a room at the Mercure, stay away from any ‘Hot Deals’ in the summer but go for a Comfort Room in the higher price category (they face they courtyard).

We were in Erfurt for the Weinachtsmarkt and had difficulty finding a hotel for the week-end. This was one of our only options, within walking distance. It is well located for the train station, tram service and shopping area. It is a very nice, modern, clean hotel with pleasant staff. We would recommend it.

An sich ein gutes Hotel mit schönen Zimmern, aber was überhaupt nicht geht ist die Badewanne, in der man duschen soll. Funktioniert nicht, ohne das gesamte Bad unter Wasser zu setzen, da die „Abtrennung“ viel zu klein ist und vor allem unten völlig in der Luft hängt, so dass das Wasser permanent rausläuft. Kann man niemandem zumuten.

Obwohl das Hotel direkt in der Altstadt gelegen ist, war es nachts erfreulich ruhig :) Ich habe selten so gut geschlafen in einem Hotel. Das lag u.a. auch an der sehr guten Matratze. Das Zimmer war gut ausgestattet, alles sehr sauber, auch im Bad. Was ich unbedingt noch als besonders positiv erwähnen möchte, ist die Freundlichkeit des Personals. Komme gerne wieder. Zu guter Letzt noch ein kleiner Vorschlag: Über eine kleine Flasche Wasser am Zimmer hätte ich mich durchaus gefreut ;-)

Das Hotel punktet vor allem mit der guten Lage. Zur Zeit wird renoviert. Viel mitbekommen hat man davon allerdings nichts. Als Entschädigung gab es einen Gutschein für die Bar.
Negativ ist allerdings, dass es auf der Straße auch am späten Abend durch Fußgänger und in der Nähe befindliche (offensichtlich bei jungen Leuten beliebt) Lokalitäten sehr laut ist.

Zentrale Lage, freundliches Personal, gepflegte Zimmer, kein Renovierungsstau, gute Betten, im Zimmer: Heisswasserkocher mit Tee und Instant Kaffee, kostenloses WLAN. Checkout bis 12 Uhr. Gut: Die Reviews werden gelesen und beantwortet.

Die Zimmer sind im Sommer sehr warm, eine Klimaanlage gibt es nicht, schlafen bei geöffnetem Fenster in den zur Straße gelegenen Räumen ist lärmbedingt nicht zu empfehlen (laute Passanten bis 2:30 h, um 8 Uhr kommt die Kehrmaschine). Die Oberfläche der länglichen Kunststoff-Duschwanne gefährlich glatt und die hauseigene Tiefgarage stellenweise sehr beengt.

Funktionelles, grosses Standardhotel mit eher kleinen Zimmern, etwas überteuert, dafür aber sehr zentral gelegen mit Tiefgarage. Ordentliches Frühstücksbuffet, Hotelrestaurant hingegen mit minimalistischem, teuren Menüangebot, dafür sind die Getränkflaschen und Snacks in der Minibar kurioserweise kostenfrei. Insgesamt für eine Übernachtung zwecks Stadtbesichtigung sehr gut geeignet.

Unterkunft liegt inmitten der Stadt Erfurt - es kann demnach nicht völlig ruhig sein (auch in der Nacht). Frühstück ist 1A, Rezeption sehr gut. Parkmöglichkeiten für PKW sind gerade ausreichend (im Hof wären zusätzliche Möglichkeiten zum Parken vorhanden.
