Rooms are filthy, floors not vacuumed, hair clippings, lint and debris on floor. Shower curtain was full of mold, items from previous guests (ie scissors, head phones and wrappers) on floor and under bed. Box spring mattress was broken with broken wood pieces on floor under bed. Curtains could not be closed without propping a chair against them to hold them shut. Shower towels were stained and yellow. Lobby smelled horrendous with a very strong odor of freshly smoked Marijuana when I checked in. Not a pleasant experience, would not recommend this place at all.

I know you shouldn't expect much for a 2 star hotel, but this place is pretty rough. It appears that they clean it, but everything is worn out, and repairs are shoddy. For example, there's silicone smeared all over in the shower, burn holes in the sheets and covers, toilet seat barely hanging on for dear life. It was inexpensive, though, and the person on duty was good about helping me with check-in since Travelocity failed to report that I was paid already to the establishment, so when I got there, he had no way of knowing that I was paid in full already.

The room was a smoking room which i picked, but as soon as you open the door, you got hit with a strong but stale smell of weed. It was so strong that i checked out at 11:15pm after checking in at about 5. Ive stayed at this place before and it was fine, so it may have just been this room as it was the first time i stayed in a smoking room.

There was no trash can in my room when I arrived. The towel for the floor and the have towel in the bathroom had black marks on them. There was only one wash cloth. There was trash on the floor by the nightstand. The charger didn't work on the one lamp and the outlet was blocked by the nightstand. One of the 3 pillows had burn holes in the pillowcase and another had blue ink all over it. The bed want lined up with the headboard (which was mounted to the wall and not attached to the bed). The power button on the remote barely worked. Just used \"sleep\" to turn it off. The one outside door had shattered glass in the frame. The pool was closed. The staff member at the counter when I checked out seemed like she'd rather be anywhere else.

The property seems nice but after a closer look, its really just a place to lay your head for anight. Be careful though, you might be laying on cloths moths or poorly cleaned linens. Also, if you any airborne allergies be prepared, as the place is super dusty and mold in certain places, like the shower curtain. This property has potential to be a great experience/stay If they would properly clean the place, offer at minimum, continental breakfast and the amenities advertised.

This is an old property that’s not in very good shape. It’s not horribly dirty but not really clean either. The heat in the room barely worked. I had to get a space heater from the front desk and we ran it all night to stay warm.

It's a smoking room with double beds with no ashtray or hangers one bed could feel the springs in the mattress and both mattresses don't match the box springs and the bed skirts have mold on them and the shower curtain has mold on it and I had the heat maxed out and it was still cold. I won't stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

A/c was not working. Linen and towels were dirty with oil and dirt. Shower cutain had mold and mildew. Hallways smelled of weed. Room smelled like cigarettes. Spoke to one of the front desk employees and she argued with me that I was wrong with the linen, towels and curtain and that they were clean. I've worked in hospitality and have never treated any of my guest the way this employee did. Worse hotel I've ever stayed in my life.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Avoid at All Costs

My family stayed at this hotel for two weeks while we were waiting to close on our new home. We chose it because it was more affordable than paying the month-to-month rate at our apartment. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what was advertised.
The photos online are incredibly misleading. The hotel is located in a very unsafe area, with visible drug activity and homeless individuals sleeping behind the building. We constantly felt unsafe, especially with people loitering in the parking lot watching guests come and go.
Our first room was a disaster—excessive moisture left the floors and walls damp, and there was visible mold on the hangers and shelves. We initially thought our son was sick from school, but after a doctor visit and starting breathing treatments, we realized it was due to mold exposure.
The amenities were also non-functional: the microwave, pool, and ice machine were all broken. After reporting the issues, we were moved to another room, but the microwave didn’t work there either. The third room had a working microwave, but the air conditioning was broken—during one of the hottest weeks in Minnesota. We had to buy a fan just to get through the nights. The fridge in that room leaked water, ruining our food, and the room was still damp and uncomfortable.
To make matters worse, the manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. Her attitude made an already stressful situation even worse. Ultimately, we left after our last altercation with this manager.

Earlier this month, I received a 24 hours to vacate notice unexpectedly. This caused me great anxiety and little time to move all my belongings. No where for my dog or me to go. Initially I had stayed at a different hotel in town before arriving here. I didn't think the previous hotel was terrible but holy cow am I happy I gave this place a shot. America's Best Value is by far superior. Great price! The room size is livable. I've been here for a couple weeks now
Both the rooms and the common areas are clean. Hot water for days! Then there's the staff. Every staff member I've talked to has been remarkably kind, personable, and helpful. As a single female traveling alone as I try to get out from under an eviction- I could not be more appreciative of the relief I have had to feel safe here. I accredit that to the staff members themselves, and for the effort they put into making sure you have a great stay here.

Rooms dirty, unkempt and smelly. Took 3 room changes to find one manageable. Beddings were stained and dirty from previous use. Had to wait till the next afternoon for housekeeping to wash sheets and comforters so we could get clean sheets. Mattresses were very old and stained. No heating in our room and portable heater available was not working. Tub very dirty and not cleaned; uncertain when it was last cleaned. Housekeeping and one front desk staff worked hard to meet our needs with the limited resources they were provided. Building is run down and needs serious face lift.

We have stayed at other America's Best hotels and this one did not measure up. Pulling up we thought the hotel was closed until we saw the lobby because the adjacent restaurant (connected by skyway) was out of business and the pool area at the front of the hotel is papered over. *Perhaps you could use that window space to inform your guests what changes are coming? Missed opportunity for advertising.*

Our room was 2 double beds with a bath, and I had to fight with door lock Everytime. The chain did not fit the chain guard as it was welded to far. You could see an iron holder, but no iron, the room smelled of mildew, and our AC/Heater did not work.*when I needed to have the key reprogrammed a second time for Room 133, I mentioned the AC and was told, we know--shrug.*.

I was traveling with dogs, so I appreciated the pet-friendly nature of the hotel, and I was glad the windows opened so at least we got some cool air into our room, later the heater would have been nice as my kids don't snuggle, they hog the blankets.

On the whole, with my key cash, the room + dog fee was still less then the big hotels for a Saturday night, but PLEASE FIX THE HEATER/AC FANS. I can live without breakfast, I need air movement.

And seriously do something about the paper covering your Pool area. Printing is cheap, and you could offer a design contest/project to the art students right there at St Cloud State.

The only thing I need from you isca refund for the absolute filth and stink and broken everything hotel I booked through you. Americas Best Value Inn in St . Cloud , Mn. for Aug 3rd and 4th. Of course the website looks so nice but the actual hotel was horrible. If the state inspectors were to go in there now, they would be shut down . I can only post 8 pictures but there are more that will make your stomach churn. Serious health code violations, no ice machine, no pool, no hot tub, no nothing. The mini fridge in my room was even broken. Toilet seat was broken and kept falling of , pubic hairs in the bathroom, moldy caulking around the tub. A/ C / heat vents plugged with dust and inside of it there were dust ball clumps the size of a snickers bar and all kinds of other unidentifiable garbage. The window wouldnt open , screen was broke , mold and dirt all along window sill, curtains had holes in them and were barely wide enough to cover the window. Carpeting torn and pulled up along the wall behind bedside table and much more.And of course you cant get a refund when you check in but believe me had I seen the room prior , I wouldve walked out and called the city builing code enforcer. If I were you, I would not be endorsing this dump. You may lose your customers. Is there any way I could get refunded for one night.? I only stayed one night instead of two because of all of this.

Worst hotel!

The photos on the site are extremely outdated. When I pulled up to the hotel it was falling apart and there was paper covering the windows in addition to the paint flaking and obvious repair needs.
The lobby was ok at best.
The room was discusting. I have attached several photos. I had to go to the store to by cleaning supplies along with sheets, towels, and something to put on the bathroom floor and tub. There were paint drops on every surface. The furniture was falling apart and/or stained.
The lights did not work properly. The curtains did not even cover the windows entirely. Mold in the freezer. Hole in not only the sheet but through the mattress of one bed and black streaks on the other.
Hair around tub and toilet.
There were people walking by my outer window at all hours. Another patron? asked my daughter multiple times for a ride to the liquor store then was found passed out on the couch in the lobby.
Pool was closed which was one of the reasons I booked so this was disappointing.
There was a $100 deposit hold which is an insane amount!
Only saving grace was that the desk staff were at least half pleasant when you spoke with them- one was gruff but still not terrible.
Would never stay here again.

I’ve always had a good experience staying in this hotel chain - quality comfortable room that is pet friendly for relatively cheap. Never had an issue. I was super disappointed this time to say the least.

Checking in there was a 30 dollar fee for having two dogs which is fine, I figure pet fees go toward extensive cleaning which I’m good with. I got to the room and the bed was missing pillows, had dirty towels stained with makeup on them, mirror was sprayed with a previous tenants spit, and a stench that closely describes a Glade wall plug in scent of cigarettes and dog poop. The smell was so intense like someone had just blown smoke from a cigarette into my face, but glancing at the wall it made sense. The yellow coloring that walls take on from excessive smoking was there, but was dripping down the wall. Literal yellow drippage. I took my shoes off and touched my foot to the ground and immediately put the shoes back on. The ground had that oily nasty feeling under your feet like if dog urine isn’t washed out of carpets & it just sits there. The AC in the room did not work, which was fine because I didn’t want to sleep under the blankets because with the state of the room I could see, I didn’t want to cover myself in things I can’t. I slept in my robe and a personal blanket I brought along, and it was still a terrible nights sleep because the bed was uncomfortable. Ultimately I should have spent an extra 20 dollars on a clean room that was comfortable to sleep in.

First it doesnt llook like photos on Hotels.com site. Place is run down cooking, windows covered in brown paper. Doors thst dont function. One exit had plexiglass insert and foor could not be opened ftom inside. This is a fire code violation. No air conditioning avaliable because controls in room are not functional. Towels were dirty looking and rough to the touch. Most tv channels were not avaliable to view. There was no hot water in the room. The facilities need a better maintenance indide and out.

I walked into room. It was hot and smelly. I looked for ac. Had none. Room unpleasant. Called desk and said we cannot stay here. Asked to cancel. Desk attendant said ok but refused refund. It was in time that we could call in and cancel. Called hotels.com. Rep called hotel. They still refused to refund. We went to another hotel anyway. Do not recommend this hotel.

It smelled like THC throughout the whole hotel. It was old & it smelled like old clothes in the room. Beds were very uncomfortable & springy! Shower curtain was dirty & so were the comforters on the beds. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE EVER AGAIN! Definitely give it a 0 all around.!!!! I would NOT recommend to stay here.

1st of all, the room still smelled like stale cigarettes, the floor in the bathroom was really sticky and there was yellow dried urine around the toilet so I’m assuming what the stickiness was! Disgusting! Halls smelled like marijuana, the bed 100% needed a new mattress, I felt like I was surrounded by dirty, messy, germs & grossness!
I’d give this hotel a -10 if possible!!!

The staff at the hotel were kind and professional. However, the building itself smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, even in our non-smoking room. There was no security implemented on the outside doors, so anyone could enter the building without a key card. The television also didn't work. Overall, it offered a place to stay for the night, which is what we needed, but it was not the most comfortable experience, particularly due to the smoke smell.

After I checked in and paid for the room the front desk clerk informed me that they were working on the heat and handed me a little heated fan. When I opened the door to the room the temperature was as cold as it was outside (25 degrees). This property should not be available for rooms until the heating issue is fixed. The front desk person should have explained the situation before checking me in and charging me for the room.
