Nice view. Breakfast was very basic and not the greatest and not exactly your tourist/travel desk like other places arpund town. Nice and quiet. The water smelled very musty coming out of the shower.

Superior staff. Room was a bargain and worth what I paid for it. Breakfast was good but a bit limited for a gf diet. Convenient location to explore the historic center. Just know it’s not a safe area at night. I had no issues as a solo woman during the day.

Hôtel très bien situé, le stationnement est juste à côté en fait la rue est un sens unique, il est juste avant, non répertorié sur les cartes. La chambre était très propre, l’eau chaude première nuit a bien fonctionné, le lendemain moins bien. Le petit déjeuner se compose d’un jus de fruit, café tout les 2 excellent, le repas est sandwich au fromage jambon avec scamble eggs.

Clean and conveniently located family hotel for a few days in Quito. Four of use fit in one room, and its private patio was nice. The water was hot and the included breakfast was reliable. There was street noise, but it was worth it to be just a few blocks from the main plaza.

Hate to leave this review but...

Let me preface by saying that the staff of the hotel was just excellent. They were well aware of the unfortunate situation in the country and I really felt safe and cared about in their hands.

The only reason for low score is the private bathroom in my room reeked. And for some reason they have those \"closet blind\" doors, which basically stank up my whole room and the situation didn't improve throughout my stay.

Also, the next door guest was a complete moron... blasting radio from 5 AM every morning but that's NOT on the hotel.

Great Time!

This hostal was full of friendly staff that helped us coordinate our rides in and out of Quito. Breakfast was great and our rooms were clean. I would stay again. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace and taking in the views of Quito.

Our group had a wonderful stay at Rincon Familiar Hostel Boutique. The property is conveniently located near the historic district in Quito, which made getting around on foot very easy. We really enjoyed walking to the historic district square and having lunch every day. The weather was always so pleasant! The staff was also wonderful and always willing to help out with things like watching/locking up our luggage on our last day, giving us recommendations for things to do in the area, and providing us with fresh towels after we had been in the hostel for a few days. They also helped us locate a COVID testing site the day we were supposed to fly home. Our room was a bit musty and the shower didn't always reliably have hot water but overall I would say the pros greatly outweigh the cons. We would happily stay in this location again!

Rincón offers a beautiful view Panecillo and the statue of the virgin. Lots of plants align the different terraces. Steep Stairs - definitely be cautious. The staff was amazing and helpful. Breakfast is made fresh when you arrive and fresh juice is served every morning. It was my first time staying in a hostel.

I did not get to stay there because of the corona virus shutdown. My flight was cancelled. Expedia would know this if they would answer their phones and help me figure out what to do. I did contact the hotel to let them know and unlike Expedia, they quickly responded and let me know that they understood.

The breakfast everyday was really good. Fresh prepared individually and the service was great.
The guys at the front seat speak English and are very service minded. You can tell they want you to be happy and comfortable with your stay. My room had an excellent view of the angel.
If I return to Quito, this is where I’ll stay.

Decent budget option located downtown. Facilities/building a little old. The lock broke when I was there (in the room). But I called the desk and someone came and removed it. Breakfast is alright and relatively-quiet building, which is not too common for area. Service was good.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The gentleman working at the front desk was bilingual, which was very helpful for me because my Spanish is very basic. The breakfast was delicious and they cleaned the rooms every day. This seemed more like a hotel rather than a hostel to me but that was good because it was quiet.

Very good location for walking the historic center. Close to pedestrian-only walking areas. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooftop terrace. Cheap beverages available. Caveats: If you have any trouble with stairs, insist on not getting a third floor room. And for people not familiar with individually heated shower water, it takes practice. The key is to start a good cold flow for a minute before moving toward hot. Then wait another minute ... and if you then want to reduce from scalding hot, increase flow as you change. If it goes chilly, do the whole process again.

Very helpful staff! They clean all day even when it's already clean. The young men carried my suitcases and escorted me to my cab and spoke with driver before I got in. Now my own sons wouldn't dream of that!

Cheap...but no bargain

Maybe it was just my single room, which was very dark and featured a bathroom with absolutely no space to put anything, that made it feel like a prison cell. In the picture below you will note the view from outside, apparently so the guard could be sure all was well.

This is great little hostel (hotel) in the heart of Old Town Quito, just walking distance to the Independence Square and museums, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel offers free breakfast, 24 hour lobby, luggage storage, airport shuttle and daily tours. Staff nice and friendly. Got great rate for private room. Quiet and clean. Can only recommend.

The stand out feature of our stay would have to be the front desk service from Raulito. He is right up there as one of the best, if not the best in all our extensive travel. Polite, unassuming, informative, knowledgeable and a nice human being. Our room was adequate for our needs, however the shower would only produce tepid water which was a rare minus for this hostel which also provided a light breakfast. Drinking water was also available for free. WiFi was very good and the room was cleaned daily. Location was perfect for access to amenities and most attractions around the old town area.

Wonderful stuff and great location!
This is a small hotel near lots of good eating spots and good access to public transportation . The service is the best I have had anywhere in the world.I had my breakfast included. Two nice patios and great view to Panecillo.

A very nice, economical place to stay in Quito, EC

Hotel was good. I experienced no buildings that had interior heat or air-conditioning as Quito has a year round nominal temp range of 50F to 70F, so bring layers of clothing that will keep you comfortable through this range (+/- 5F). Worst was hot water for shower was a bit dicey, but once I got the hang of it I could generally get a comfortable shower with few brief chilly surprises. As I traveled in Ecuador more, I found that this was not an unusual situation. The place was clean, the staff helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was OK but not particularly substantial and the coffee was good. This is a very good location for exploring the Historical El Centro district (old downtown) walking and via public transport. It is not particularly good for night life, but the \"entertainment district\" is a brief taxi ride away. The business district is a bit further away by taxi.

A good value in a nice location.

This was our first trip to Quito and we chose this hotel based on price and location; walking distance from both La Ronda and Plaza Grande in Old Town Quito. The accommodations were small and simple, but comfortable. We chose a room with a private bath which had adequate water pressure and heat. There was no climate control in the room which we noticed was the reason for heavy blankets on our beds that first night. The staff was very friendly. They spoke almost no English, so we did our best with Spanish and charades. If you need to go to the airport early in the morning NOTIFY the front desk - otherwise you will be locked in. That said, the property was very safe and remarkably quite, given the location.

Overall my stay was pretty good the room was small as the bed took up about 75% of the room but they do have bigger rooms if you pay for it. The service from Raul was excellent, the morning free breakfast was ok but the same everyday and the area was safe .

Excellent well-situated budget hotel in old town

This is an excellent budget hotel in the old town, with kind and helpful receptionists - plus character. My room had an old parquet floor. Everything in the old town can be reached on foot, and the charming Ronda area starts just across the neighbouring square. I shall certainly return here if I ever come back to Quito.

Stay at your own risk - you get what you pay for

The room was always cold. The service was terrible. When I checked in I had one towel and one hand towel. The next day after ther cleaned the room, no hand towel. The next day after that, no towel or hand towel. I had to request a towel. The breakfast is prepared for you, which they forget to serve even though they gave me the juice the second day. Cold, hard bed, terrible service, never again.That was the red line for me, I checked early. Don't drink the juice, you will regret It after the second day. The worst.

Great hostel for the price and location!

For the price of this hostel you can't go wrong! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast being included is definitely a plus since most with this same rate do not offer breakfast. The only complaint I have is the poor wifi signal. This is something that definitely needs to be improved especially for people like me that work remotely.

Location was great and they were accommodating of my late arrival.

The hot water worked but only at a trickle making it difficult to rinse. I was given a room on the third floor and even though the staff member took me up to the room he made no offer to help with my bags. Other guests were smoking on the terrace outside my room and smoke was wafting into my room. It was gross and uncomfortable while trying to sleep. The free breakfast was only offered during a one hour window starting at 7 am. After 2 of my 4 nights I booked a room elsewhere and left.
