We stayed at Hotel Patio Andaluz in Quito for 4 nights. The building itself is beautiful and the location is great, right in the historic center. The staff were all very kind, friendly, and helpful, which we really appreciated.
However, unfortunately, our stay was not restful at all. There was major construction going on inside the hotel, and this was not mentioned anywhere on Expedia’s website when we booked. The noise started in the morning and continued until around 4–5 PM every day, making it impossible to relax or rest in the room.
We spoke to reception and they kindly offered to change our room, but the noise came from the central patio area, so it didn’t make any difference.
In addition, we discovered that $72 USD was missing from the cash we had in our safe. We’re not sure how it happened, possibly we forgot to lock it properly, but it was still very upsetting.
Overall, while we appreciated the staff’s friendliness and the charm of the building, the construction noise and the unpleasant incident with the missing money made our experience quite disappointing. I hope the management will clearly inform guests about renovations in the future.

Such a beautiful place to stay. We couldn't have asked for better service. Two mornings we had to leave very early and a breakfast was provided for us. We needed some specific transporation and we had it. We wanted a few unique tours and we got them. We needed a room change (due to aging knees), and we got it. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to also just hang out and play cards and relax inbetween our adventures.

Perfect location, super friendly staff, great ambience. My room has two issues that could not be resolved -- the TV only played one channel (not a big deal, I wasn't the to watch TV) and the heating didn't work (not a big deal, it was only cool for a few hours just before bed, felt ok otherwise). My room was on the top floor, not necessarily an easy climb for everyone through narrow stairs, but, in exchange, I had a super view of Quito with full windows on two sides of the room.

Our entire stay was fabulous. We pre arranged a pick up with the hotel for our arrival after 5 days in the Galapagos Islands. Our driver held a sign with our name on it and safely delivered us from the airport to our hotel. We were greeted by Roger and given a small tour. We enjoyed a later dinner at the restaurant which was delicious. Angel was so attentive and really took our meal to the next level. The room was extremely spacious and had 2 floors. There are also plenty of filtered water stations around the entire hotel for the guests use. Additionally, the made to order breakfast was excellent. We were always met with a smile. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is in a perfectly safe walking area. Thank you for such an amazing trip!!

The hotel is beautiful, elegant & well maintained but not a good value. First floor rooms lack windows & sound proofing which made sleep difficult given the very live surfaces throughout the property (the loud voices & flushing toilet in the room above mine were thunderous). Front desk staff is disinterested & not helpful. Food quality is high; breakfast buffet is nice. Overall an OK hotel but not worth the high price for Quito.

Gem in the Middle of the Historic District
It was an overnight stay but well worth it. The room had an incredible view of the Historical Center skyline with the Basilica in the background and the peak of the Cotopaxi volcano in the distance. The complimentary breakfast was perfect in variety and amount and the setting was welcoming. The staff was friendly and outgoing. Great place to stay in the middle of the historic district.

An Eclectic Spot
The Hotel Patio Andaluz is set in a great location, making it easy to walk to many locations. The hotel is a gallery of eclectic collections everywhere from art to glassware, to cultural pieces and seating areas. It's a lot to take in. We especially liked the coffee shop for a coffee and a treat in the afternoon. The staff could not have been friendlier and more helpful. It would have been nice if the bar area was better staffed. Our room was pleasant with great views. However, with no elevator the climb to the 4th floor was a chore. The room would have been improved with hooks to hang towels in the bathroom, a box of tissue, a bathroom sink that was user friendly and maybe a comfortable chair. That said, it certainly met our needs.

Excellent hotel and location for a few days in Quito. Within walking distance to many attractions in the Old Town. Really enjoyed our very quick visit. People were very friendly. We stayed in this hotel for two more nights after our cruise to Galapagos and the rainforest. It is way exceeded my expectation. It just two blocks from the center square. The best we like is the spacious sitting area in the hall. Definitely we will recommend to our friends.

This is a larger boutique hotel and is a starting point for many group tours (such as mine). Some cons: The rooms are outdated, the bed linens are not high quality, not all rooms have exterior windows. Pros: Centrally located in the historic center, a nice breakfast buffet and an amazing hand soap/shampoo line. For the price, I would recommend a boutique hotel that is smaller where the little details can be given the attention they deserve.

A very charming hotel in the middle of Historic Quito, with the flavor of the history of Quito. We were able to do a lovely walking town from the hotel. The food was OK but not exceptional. However, we arrived back usually so late to be able to explore local restaurants. The room was clean and the staff helpful and accommodating. The cost was reasonable. I would recommend this hotel for it's ready access to historic Quito.

The property was clean and well kept. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a little wear and tear (not a surprise given the building's history). Very convenient location in the historic district, well within walking distance of most of the culture sites we wanted to see. The breakfast buffet was decent, good food with plenty of selection. Alejandra at the front desk was beyond outstanding. Very knowledgeable young lady, very polite, always willing to when we came in and out. Helped us arrange transportation for a day out in the city, helped us arrange our COVID tests for follow-on travel, got us transportation back to the airport. Overall we were very happy with our choice of lodging and enjoyed our stay.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel. All the staff I interacted with spoke English. The staff were amazingly helpful and accommodating. Breakfast that is included was plentiful. The room I was in was exceptionally large and comfortable. Free wifi with great reception. I was easily able to stream movies. Located in Old Town just one block from Independence Square ( Plaza de la Independencia / Plaza Grande). I will come again!
