I loved my stay at Casa Gardenia. Location was very convenient to restaurants. I felt safe walking at night to go out to dinner. The hotel was multi level and had a great view of the city on the 3rd floor. Breakfast was good with bread, fruits and eggs. Staff was very nice. I would stay here again.

We loved Casa Gardenia, especially the kindness and friendliness of the family proprietors. We had a morning checkout prior to a midnight flight back to the US, but when I felt ill later (altitude plus maybe some suspect shrimp at dinner), they lent me a room, gratis, to lie down in all afternoon while the others went out in search of the Basilica and artisanal chocolate.

We had an excellent two-night stay. We had two rooms for the four of us, and both were clean, quiet, and comfortable. We enjoyed the mix of old and new in the building's construction. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll stay here again when we pass through Quito on our way home from the Galapagos.

Cozy hotel in the historical center. Relatively simple accommodations but comfortable, with a good breakfast and a very warm staff. Top floor has a nice open veranda overlooking the west side of Quito and an enclosed \"living room\" to hang out. Would definitely stay there again!

Been here a few times . Great staff and friendly owners. The best view of Quito you can find. Cute hotel in a quaint area of town. Everything you want to do is only blocks away. The new metro in three blocks from the hotel and fantastic. Need anything just ask the owners they are always around and extremely helpful and speak perfect English. If I had one complaint it’s that for us low landers it’s even higher then old town Quito and can make altitude issues for some of us pretty tough. I would suggest they have coca leaf tea available 24/7 and maybe even a basket of coca leaves to chew on. They really help. Besides that it’s a sweet spot.

Our stay was exceptional and I would return in a minute. Breakfast was superb with matching service. The front desk went out of the way to provide us with a map, directions and advice for restaurants and safety. The hotel has great night time views.

We loved our stay! The bed is comfortable, the staff are exceptional, and the breakfast was the perfect start to our day. I particularly liked that the hotel reached out to see if I wanted to set up an airport pickup. I did and we really liked our driver Freddy. We ended up taking a day trip with him the next day. This property was perfect for our stay at Quito, however, I have to note the walls were quite thin. Regardless, we would come back!

Incredible stay, beautiful property. The rooftop sitting area has incredible city vistas, great for coffee or wine in the evening . Andres was such a considerate host. The hotel is located on a quiet street within the Old Town that makes sites and restaurants easily walkable. The building itself has a warm aesthetic emphasized with an open wooden stairwell and rooms that incorporate the original historic walls. The management carried our bags and brought up a lovely bottle of wine, which we enjoyed from a lounge area with magnificient views of the city. Of note, there was also assistance with taxis and excellent eating recommendations.

This BnB is a real find in the Historic Center. It is an architectural gem with stunning views.

This place is amazing, but most importantly, the host, Andres, and his staff all do everything they can to make your stay great. Good showers, comfortable beds, great breakfast. One of the best smaller places I have ever stayed at. Would recommend.

This was the best hotel stay ever. We are traveling a lot and this really was the best experience ever. Our room was beautiful, very clean and perfect for the couple. Hospitality from the owner and his team was beyond what we could have asked for. They allowed us to check out almost 7h later to avoid sitting at the airport for hours. Breakfast was fantastic, very fresh fruits and delicious pastries. Great location too, we were able to walk to main tourist attractions in the city and to some restaurants. Casa Gardenia is a lovely little hotel in the historic district. It’s an easy walk to good restaurants and sites. The proprietor, Andres, is very friendly and helpful with information. He clearly takes pride in his hotel and his city. The rooms are not big, but they have everything you need. There are some very nice sitting areas with good views where you can relax with a book.

The hotel was closed when we arrived. We were waiting for bout an hour outside and noone was opening... We took another hotel finally. It was 9pm dark and not so safe to wait more on the street

The hotel is in a great location, just 5-10 minute walk to the main historic center but also in a very quiet neighborhood. Rooms are basic and bed is comfortable. The inner courtyard adds to the ambience but could be loud if other guests are speaking or climbing the stairs. However, no outside noise. The view from the patio is amazing. The staff are super friendly and will answer any and all questions including discussing politics, etc. Breakfast was great (eggs, bread, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc.).

I highly recommend this hotel. It's clean, comfortable, safe, well located in the old town, has great breakfasts, and the owner has been more than helpful and friendly. We felt lucky to have found this place and to have stayed here.

He has given us access to the kitchen and made us feel very welcome and safe. We can't say enough good things about him and the hotel.

Andres and his staff were very welcoming and went well beyond expectations. The premium room was well appointed with wonderful views and very close to the old downtown Quito. While there is some street noise, it fades out as background noise and disappears later at night. Nice breakfasts and comfortable common areas.

Best Hotel Stay Ever
We stayed 2 nights at room no. 8 and it was very spacious and nicely decorated. It offered a shower and a walk-in closet. The owner and his staff is polite and very helpful. The hotel is located in the old town; just a 5 minutes walk to the Basilica and around 10 minutes to Plaza Grande. If we come back to Quito; it’s definitely our first choice to stay.

The staff here goes so far above and beyond that you feel like they are friends and not hotel staff. If the service wasn’t so fantastic, I would give the hotel a lower score. The doors to the rooms don’t block out the noise from the common area. The location is great in Old Town and the open roof area offers great views. I would probably stay again.

pleasant stay in my first time in Ecuador
I had a really pleasant stay here. I like how the staff are so hospitable and catered to my every need. I arrived at 1 am because my flight was delayed for 10 hours but the person who’s on duty patiently waited and helped me with my luggage. The only thing is that since the bed and breakfast is hundred years old. the floors are wooden so you can hear every footstep that u do. It doesn’t really bother me but maybe for some people yes. The room is clean and location is near the city center which is good :)

Casa Gardenia even arranged a transfer to the airport for us with their driver at a reduced rate. I would highly recommend this property for your stay in Quito. All the staff and the owners Andres and Lorena provided excellent services. They always tried to please us and always care if everything is fine. The breakfast is varied and lots of fruits, coffee and tea are available all day. I strongly recommend la Casa Gardenia if you will visit Quito.

Room choice matters
Great service from the staff and breakfast was way better than expected, especially the local fruit. Staying in room 1 made it difficult to sleep due to its location near the breakfast area, front desk, and with wooden floors above staff area. I think the upper floor may not have this issue and make for a great stay, but as it was I needed good sleep to recommend a place.

The location is wonderful, and the staff were exceptionally helpful. The room itself is very simple and plain but very clean. There is no safe in the room, which is a definite negative, but the front desk kept the items in their safe. Unfortunately, we got up early one morning and missed breakfast, and the next day we checked out early so I can't review the breakfast.

This cute hotel is a great find in the historic center of Quito. Just 5min from the Plaza Grande, the hotel is conveniently located just outside the noise and the hustle and bustle of the main square but still close enough so that you can access all the great sights. The staff was amazing here as well. Really nice place with rooms built around a patio. Modern architecture, clean lines, beautiful view of Quito from the breakfast area and from the terrace upstairs. Well situated for exploring the Centro Historico. The street on which the hotel sits gets busy in the morning and the evening. Rooms are clean, uncluttered and comfy. The staff were wonderful, full of helpful information, facts potential destinations in the city, etc.

A small boutique hotel, with a renovated loft or glass condo feel to it. The lounge on the second and third floors entice you to get out of your room in the evening and look at the view with a glass of wine (which we did each night we stayed). There was also an outside rooftop terrace which had a great view but the weather didn't allow us to spend extensive time out there. The rooms are modern and clean.Service was great which included arranging some breakfast despite checking out before the official breakfast time. It has a discreet entrance so it is very easy to miss if you haven't been there before. I suggest that if arriving by taxi, have the address and the instructions on how to get there (our taxi driver could not find it). I gave comfort a ranking of 4 instead of a 5 because there is some noise from the street and noise from the hallway floors (which are very nice, rustic planks). You are only a couple of blocks from the plaza (Historical centre). I would definitely stay there again

asa Gardenia is a recently opened BNB in historic Quito that feels like a boutique hotel experience tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The top floor balcony also has stunning views and offers a great way to see the city while relaxing and taking in some fresh air.

They continued their outstanding service my entire stay. It’s a small place with one of the best views of the city. I travel a lot and totally recommend this place!!
