The room is very small and only big enough for you to store your luggage and walk in and out. However, if you`re only there to sleep, it doesn`t matter. Depending on the room, you might get different kinds of beds. The bed in the first room was hard and uncomfortable but the second room bed was very soft and comfortable. Nevertheless, this hotel was clean and the staff was awesome. They let me check in earlier than the check-in time and held my luggage after I checked out.

Not everyday room service available. Can hear other people making noise (walking, speaking) from your room. Room are a bit small but still acceptable coz of low rental fees. Closed to station (5-10 mins walk) but still need to take train to main station (Tokyo station, etc) again. Others than that, it’s still ok to stay.

Very clean and on a budget hotel

I read so many reviews that say this hotel is pretty far away from the train station. However when I got there I found out it’s not thar far for me (just 5-10 minutes walk) in exchange for its peacefulness and quietness. I felt very safe to go back to this hotel at 10-11 pm. Besides the train station near this hotel is linked to both JR and metro lines and that make it very easy to go around. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very nice and helpful :)

Very nice hotel, decent location and great value.

Free coffee and nice lounge area. Has a laundry service including drier! Rooms are super clean, showers good and bathrooms clean too. Air conditioning in the room very strong, can go as cool as you can take it! Has a Japanese-style bath too. Make sure you have the location saved on a map to make sure you find it okay the first time.

Experience a Japanese Home

Staying here feels like staying in a japanese home rather than a hotel. So if you want to experience living in a japanese home, then this is very recommended. Not recommended for noise-sensitive people as you can hear every noise outside the room, as these are japanese style walls. Moreover the place is very safe and super clean. It's kinda far from station, 8mins and 10 mins walk from the nearest stations.

I've stayed at this hotel in the past. I loved it then and I loved it now. Fantastic price if you wanna save some money, especially since you should only be using your hotel to sleep! Clean room and bathrooms. Downside is you're sharing a bathroom but for the price you can't ask for much. The rooms are small but the vast majority of Japanese hotels are small so that's not a big deal. There's a Japanese style bathroom you can book (one reservation at a time) so that was definitely an experience I loved! Otherwise, you can use the private shower stalls. Also 10 min walk to two different train stations. Overall, fantastic experience. I would stay again if I should ever find myself in Tokyo again.

It is a hostel rather than a hotel. Small room!!!

The hotel was very clean and well maintained just like any Japanese hotel. However, this hotel is rather close to a hostel. The rooms were very very small with the bunker beds. One can almost touch both walls by stretching out two hands. The bed was not firm. It was maybe originally a single-family home and converted into a hostel. English is limited at the front desk. It is located in the quiet area away from the busy roads. However, one has to walk a good distance to the nearest Minami Senju Station. There are not any convenient stores nearby like Seven Eleven.

Clean and Great Value

Hotel Meigetsu was the perfect place to crash after a long day of exploring Tokyo. It was conveniently situated near a metro line away from the noise of center city and the area its in has some hidden gems too. Though the bathrooms were shared, they were immaculately clean and everything well maintained. I would stay here again.

Asakusa is a nice alternative from busy Tokyo.

We reserved two rooms in December 2016 (for two weeks), but only stayed there for one week...and spent one week in Osaka/Kyoto area. Some of the staff spoke limited English, but it didn't matter...all were helpful. The rooms are small, but not surprising for Japan (...bottom line, you get what you pay for). The walls are a bit thin (heard others talking, or snoring...), but it was not a nuisance. There are two showers on the first floor...and never once did we have to wait. Restrooms are on the first and second floor, and were always clean. Smoking is only allowed outside, which is nice as you cannot smell it from inside.

I wish the beds were a bit more comfortable, but it's not horrible either. We were out and about a lot, and only needed a place to crash. It's a little confusing to find the unit (as with most of Japan), but once you're acclimated, it's really simple. There's a vending machine within the building and close by (...yes, hot coffee), and a large convenience store two blocks away. It was rather quiet during our stay (unless you have a noisy neighbor)...personally for us, it was nice being out with all the noise and people, and returning to a calmer environment to rest.

Okay for a one night stay

I stayed for one night, only needing a place to sleep. The room was clean and there was working air conditioning and free wifi. The bed was a little uncomfortable and the sheets felt slightly damp but mostly my stay was comfortable. I did think it wasn't enough to only have one toilet on each floor of the hotel but the bathroom was very clean.

Difficult to find because of the Japanese system. Minami-Senju is the locality, not a street name. Once finding it is achieved, it's good value and handy to two Metro stations, JR and convenience stores. 24 hour coffee also boiling water available for tea. Showers and toilets were always available. I did not like the pillow, more like a miniature beanbag.

The staff doesn't speak too much English, but enough to get by. I did not understand how to get a taxi or where, so the staff graciously led me to a good location for taxis, got me one, and told the driver where to go, and waved good bye. He was actually on break. It meant a lot to me that he was so kind. 5 stars!

My stay was perfect! I was skeptical at first when I read all the other reviews, they sounded almost too positive. But I have to say this was the best Hostel/Hotel I stayed at during my trip to Japan (out of aprox 5 hotels/hostels) - this place is very very clean, have very nice personnel. The only small downside is the location - which is really not bad. Once you get to the hotel the first time, its really a great location close to the Train station. Like anything else in Tokyo, it can be difficult finding an address nestled within a normal neighborhood. And Hotel Meigetsu is nesteld in a nice neighborhood, so may not have an typical hotel location. But I extended my stay here, and stayed at this place the remainder of my stay in Tokyo... Would strongly recommend this place to anyone, who needs all the basics at a very good price.

Very pleasant hotel

The only problem with this hotel is it's location. Using the (very efficient) public transit system, it takes about an hour to get the neighborhoods I ended up spending most of my time around, like Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku, etc. This was the worst if I was out past midnight, when the trains stop. Coming back in a cab from the nightlife areas cost 6000 yen ($60)! Otherwise, the hotel was lovely, the service was great, the room was clean and air-conditioned, and the neighborhood very pleasant.

'Cheap, but for a reaason

Cheap and simple living, but located quite far from the city and any communication. Living outside the \"ring\" also means it's quite timely to take the metro to any sights, not to mention expensive to take a cab ride home (you might as well just upgrade for a better hotel). The hotel was very clean, but with a true backpacker / barracks feel. The staff had poor english, but were friendly. The room came with a bunk bed, the lower which had a hard mattress whereas the upper which basically was a futon. The pillows were quite flat, and the room to small to circulate air properly (despite AC) so sleeping quality was below average.

Clean Beds & Good Service But Noisy

The hotel is very clean and service was excellent. The bathrooms are extremely clean and the staff is constantly keeping up good maintenance. The only downside is that the air conditioners are old and emit a musty smell when turned on. Also, the walls are very thin and you can hear anyone and everyone walking around or talking. If you are a late sleeper the vacuuming in the mornings might wake you up. Also, this hotel imposes a 12:30 am curfew for you party goers or late night owls. Otherwise the hotel is excellent especially for the price. I highly recommend this place for the frugal traveler.

Hotel Meigetsu

This was my first trip to Tokyo and the stay at Hotel Meigetsu was a good choice! It was a little hard to find the hotel at first since it was hidden by other buildings. The staff were friendly and accomodated us with anything we needed like towels, hairdryers, etc. Also, for you people who have limited comprehension of Japanese, the staff speak English, so that was a plus! My girlfriend and I booked bunk beds since that was the cheapest option. The top bunk was a little hard, so we shared the bottom bunk, which surprisingly has enough room for two people. It was hot when we got there, but fortunately there was air conditioning. The room is not cleaned everyday, but you can tell the staff if you want to have to have it done. There are two options for cleaning one's self: a Japanese-style bath and showers. Showers are available anytime, while the Japanese-style bath is available by reserving for 20 minutes. There's a also a refrigerator and a kitchen on the premises if you don't feel like eating out. The location is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Minamisenju Metro and JR lines, and getting to the Harajuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku, or Tokyo stations take about 30-35 minutes! Overall, the stay at Hotel Meigetsu was enjoyable and affordable!

You enter a calm, well catered for world when you step out of the industrial backwater that surrounds Hotel Meigetsu, Literally hemmed in by a river, highway and train lines, the environment dictates the low cost of a stay, which has to be one of the best overnight bargains in Tokyo. The hotel is warm and cheery inside, with good consideration given to the comfort and well being of the guests. Something epic rather than depressing about the neighborhood - industrial Japan alive and on the go, while a quiet neighborhood goes about its business in the background.

Nice budget hostel with great kindess of the staff

I took Keisei line from Narita airport and got off at Senjuohasi station with the transfer at Aoto station. It took about 10 minutes to get to this hostel from Senjuohasi station. It was so clean and comfortable. The room was equipped with air-conditioner (heater) and television. Besides, there were a small living room where we could use desktop computers for free and a kitchen where we could cook some food. And the shower rooms and toilets were maintained so cleanly. The speed of wifi was so fast that I could watch moving clipps with my smart phone. More than anything else, the staffs who looked mid-aged men were so kind and polite as ordinary japanese people are. He showed me every facilities and explained to me about details. I was so impressed. The price was fantastic if we take the prices in Tokyo into consideration. If I visit Tokyo again, I will absolutely stay here again. This hostel is perfert as a low-budget accomodation.

traveled to japan on October 15 and stayed till the 31st. it's a nice little hotel and great if you don't want to spend a lot of money. i went with my cousin so our room was one with a bunk bed. the room was a bit small but it didn't bother me at all, i mean it's just to sleep right? staff can speak English pretty good. they have 2 shower rooms and a bathroom and they provide towels and shampoo if you need them. they have a small kitchen area where you can cook stuff up on hotplates or a microwave. this area also has a coin washer (200/30min) and dryer (100/30min) to do laundry and you can buy detergent at the front desk for 50 yen a pack. there is a common space with a tv, small table, and 2 computers where you can hang around and talk to other guests, use the internet, or watch tv. overall the hotel was very clean and the staff was really nice.

My overall experience was very nice. I enjoyed the stay I had at the hotel. The staff were very accommodating as well as very professional. The staff were efficient and effective at the their work as well as informative and helpful to all the guest I was able to see them interact with. The levels of help provided to me were almost immeasurable. The locations I needed to visit as well as the times I needed were available to me through the staff and they even gave me some local routes that were basically shortcuts to most of the places I needed to go to. I highly recommend them to anyone that is having a short stay but needs hands on assistance for local events.

Meigetsu Hotel

Meigetsu hotel is a very nice place to stay. Staffs are also very friendly. Though English is limited but somehow still can communicate. If you didn't tell them to clean up your room, they will never enter. Walls were thin but it was not an issue to me. Because the travellers staying there were quite considerate, except for few. Wifi and internet were great. This hotel has curfew. By 12.30 midnight they will locked the doors. I can't confirm if there's really curfew because I'm always back by 12am.

The only issue I have is the bathrooms and toilets. There were only 2 bathrooms which was located at ground floor. Maybe I always bathed very late (after 11pm), so not many using. And on each floor there's only 1 male/female toilet. So if someone is using on your floor, you may have to go other floor to use.
I don't know abt others but for me, I find there's nothing much to eat around the vicinity.

Though it is located a few stations away from popular attractions but that's fine. Walking from Minami-senju station (Hibiya line) to the hotel is abt 15mins. I got lost the 1st time I got there. Once out of the station, when you saw \"Denny\", pls follow the path. You will by-pass schools. The rest pls look at your map or google your way.

寝るだけなら静かで駅もコンビニも近く便利でした。二段ベッドの上に寝る人はコンセントの差し込み口がなく、不便でした。

역과의 거리는 좀 있지만 역주변에 편의 시설이 많아서 좋습니다~
그리고 직원분이 매우 친절했어요~
개인방에 2층침대라 좋았구요~ 대욕장을 시간별로 빌려서 쓸수있어 좋았습니다~

這次入住了雙床房，不知為何上層的高度比整整一個人還要高，每次上下樓梯也要特別小心。因為房間很細冷暖氣對正上層，因此上層特別熱（開了暖氣），下層卻明顯冷，每天起床也出了一身汗。晚上公共地方有很多人，每層只有一男一女廁所。澡堂只有晚上開放，沒有分男女，一個小浴缸內的水整晚由不同人浸，感覺有點不衞生。沒有冷水，只有熱水提供。唯一好處是有小廚房，可以處理食物。

離JR南千住站需走一段路,約5~10分鐘吧,在住宅區小巷中,寧靜,附近有7-11,服務員親切會中文,雖然建築有些老舊,但是應有盡有,房間也有電視可以看

こじんまりしたホテルですが、清潔で過ごしやすいです。
今回は２段ベットの部屋だったので、やや圧迫感がありましたが、ツインの部屋だともっとゆっくり過ごせると思います。

自由度高, check out 快.

沒有其他複雜手續, check in/out 都好順暢, 快, 易搵, 南千住出行10分鐘到, 房間地下夠晒位打開夾, 慢慢執, 上廁所, 淋浴, 使用浸浴, 都無排隊情況, 大家好守禮, 有日本人入住的, 附近有7仔, 買日用品好方便, 一次去東京一定再入住.

도심에서 약간 벗어났지만 한적해서 좋다.
친절하고 깨끗하지만 방음이 조금 부족하고 침대가 좀 불편하다.
가격 생각하면 모두 용서되지만.

Nice hotel but have to take walk to train.

Very nice, quite and comfort, reasonable price. Walk around 10 mins from train but not feeling tried cause u can see japanese life all the way long

가격대비 매우 만족합니다.

1. 위치가 역에서 가깝습니다. JR과 도쿄메트로이 모인 미나미센쥬역에서 대략 10분 정도 걸어가면 됩니다. 가는 길도 거의 직선상의 길이라 찾아가기 어렵지 않습니다.

2. 가격이 매우 저렴한 편입니다. 숙박에 큰 돈을 들이기 싫어하는 여행객에게 가장 중요한 점이겠네요.

3. 위생상태가 좋습니다. 저가 호텔들 중에는 더러 청소 상태가 매우매우 더러운 경우가 적지 않습니다만, 제가 묵었던 객실은 깨끗하게 유지가 잘 되어있었습니다.

4. 직원들이 친절합니다. 맞으시는 분들의 인상도 좋으시고, 호텔 내부의 시설에 대해 직접 내부를 한바퀴 같이 돌면서 하나하나 알려주십니다. 마지막 체크아웃 때도 1시간 늦게 체크아웃 했으나 따로 연장요금도 안 받으시더군요.

5. 내부 시설은 있을만한건 다 갖춰져 있습니다. 객실엔 에어컨, 무료 WiFi, TV, 침대가 갖춰져 있습니다. 비록 냉장고는 없지만 따로 공용 주방에 커다란 냉장고가 있으니 냉장보관이 필요한게 있다면 거기에 넣어두면 됩니다. 기타 시설로는 공용 주방, 작은 라운지 겸하는 공간(PC포함), 24시간 운영하는 샤워실이 있습니다.

전체적으로 저렴하게 묵을것이면서 위치도 고려한다면 적극 추천할만 합니다.

주변에는 딱히 이렇다할건 없으나, 편의점으로 세븐일레븐과 로손, 그리고 식품과 음료도 포함해서 취급하는 큰 약국이 있으니 뭐 간단히 사고싶은게 있으면 이쪽을 이용하면 됩니다.
