1 Night ¥1980 Hotel is everything you could ask for and more out of a hotel with the lower nightly rate you pay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating (coming from someone who doesn’t speak nearly any Japanese). The dorm areas had cleaning staff going through everyday ensuring garbages were emptied, bathrooms, floors, etc.., were clean. Only a 5 minutes walk to Iriya station so very easy to get around Tokyo. I had no troubles with noise from other guests, everyone was very respectful and considerate. I highly recommend anyone looking for an inexpensive but nice & clean place while in Tokyo, to stay here!

It's extremely cheap and the staff is very helpful and friendly.
Having to switch to paper slippers every time you enter the hotel is a little inconvenient and that you have to dispose said slippers every time you leave the hotel feels pretty wasteful.
If you're unlucky, some guy near your bed snores at night, audibly struggles with a cold or is unnecessarily noisy in a different way.
If your main priority is saving money and you don't mind minor inconveniences, then I definitely recommend this hotel.

The place is cheap but not close to transit. Also, the place is very dirty. I got in late and my sheets were dirty. When I turned on the light to my cabin the walls and ceiling were gross. Also, also the mattress is only a pad and was very uncomfortable. There are also no toiletries or towels so bring your own or expect to pay for them. For the price you can find a better place near transit.

I did enjoy the rooftop view which the vending machine up there also has alcoholic drinks so it’s a nice way to relax. Also fairly close to bus stops and the subway lines. Staff was very pleasant as well!

If I had to “complain” it would be needing more power outlets in the capsule. Trying to charge 2 large battery banks, my iPhone X, and my Apple Watch was like playing roulette (exploring Tokyo sunrise to sunset using phone gps puts a hurting on it)

If you’re looking to travel to Tokyo and not spend a million dollars on something you will only be there for to sleep and shower, I HIGHLY recommend this place!

This hotel is the equivalent of flying with a low cost airline. No extra's at all but it does the job. It's not a traveller/backpacker social hostel. It's a capsule hostel for Tokyo locals. One older dude working the front desk was a kind guy.

This places serves it purpose as a cheap bed to sleep in at the end of the day. Although the beds aren't very comfortable. Come tired and you'll sleep decently.

Cleanliness: there were still hairs from the person before me on my mattress. Sheets are cleaned upon request.

Atmosphere: There's no common area, bar, or lounge.

The hotel staff are nice and friendly.

Don't come here expecting a hostel vibe. You can meet people here and there but you'll have to put yourself out there and say hi while brushing your teeth together.

It was ok.

Kinda confusing when they mentioned toiletries are provided but only hand towel and toothbrush were provided for free. The rest you will need to purchase it. Interesting vending style system though. My worst experience was one of the male staff giggled in a rude manner when I was enquiring about the toiletries as I checked in, bad introduction of the hostel. First night was pretty horrible as well as they was one bed bug interrupting my sleep in the middle of the night. Slow wifi. Other than that it was average and at least they kept the shower and toilets really clean. Most of the other staff were pleasant, spacious locker which is probably the best locker in Tokyo! Not going back for another stay. Just my opinion, this hostel has very good ratings.

For less than £20 a night, there's nothing bad that can be said about this brilliant hostel.
It's very easy to get to (just make sure you take the right exit when you get off the metro at Iriya station and look for the sign on the wall near the combi-ni store to tell you to go around the back).
The capsules are comfortable for what you pay, but your neck pillow for the plane would be put to good use if you don't like you head flat to the mattress. The mattresses are double foam, so comfortable and not overly warm.
The staff are very friendly with a good level of English and they make use of online translation services when they need to.
All in all a very nice stay and I'll be looking to book again when I return to Tokyo in 2 years time.

Fantastic Place! Great location, and nice staff

Stayed here for a week. The price was amazing. the location was very convienient being very close to the irya station and easy access into the city from there. The bed was comfortable enough for me. But could be seen as lacking if you require a lot of padding. The room was private and had plenty of space. I enjoyed the nook style for the room, found it to be much more private than traditional hostels. And the closet had plenty of space for my stuff. This was the best hostel ive ever stayed at for sure.

Good facilities: shower, clean beds, place to charge your electronics. Washer to clean clothes. Fairly close to subway station (10 min walk).

Their wifi is terrible. Very slow speed and constant disconnecting. The staff weren't super friendly or helpful, although I feel that could be the language barrier.

Not a bad place to stay, but just know the negatives beforehand.

Best capsule hotel for ladies

This capsule hotel has larger sized capsules than most others. It's really comfy and same floor, individual shower facilities for ladies is a big winner. They even have small bath tubs for you to soak and rewind after a whole day of exploring Tokyo. Excellent service by the staff too. The only drawback is it's not near a JR station, but it's near subway station. So JR pass users need to take note of extra travelling on the subway or long walk from Ueno Stn. Otherwise, great place.

Okay, okay.

The place was good. A storage room was very large so you could put a large suitcase. The cost performance is good.
The room was not cleaned well. I found some hairs on the small rack of the compartment.
An old man put a call to a police or some companies to complain about something in Japanese. That was very stressful for me. If you are not able to understand Japanese, it doesn't matter.
Shower rooms were not so clean. They are stuffy.
If you go out, you must put your key into the front. That's bothering.

When I checked in the receptionist was laughing at me and joking in Japanese with a colleague. Very rude. Because I was a little early they wanted me to go and sit down the road but I refused and sat on my bag in reception. Could I not have waited on the rooftop. Was very relieved to find the room was fine, although the mattress is very thin.
No kitchen facilities but good wifi. Showers and toilets were spotless. A little away from the sights but very cheap.

Nice and clean capsule hotel

The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Iriya which is only 1 station from Ueno station where you should use as your base to start exploring the city. Iriya is not the most vibrant part of the city, but it's close enough.

The capsule has a separate large locker where you can put your staff in and an adjacent capsule style bed. Once you arrive at the place, you'll get a big brown paper bag from the staff which includes towels, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, bath gel, and razor (only for men, I guess). There are restrooms every floor but baths are only on the 8th floor (for gentlemen, I guess there's another floor for women).

Everything is clean and well organized. The staffs speak good English.

Spent two nights in the hotel. Great place for the price, mattresses are a bit dirty, but thats what the sheets are for. Capsule gets a bit humid in the summer, make sure to open the fan and let all the dust blow out so you get better circulation. Showers ans toilets are very clean. Great place for travelers and really good staff.

The hostel is very clean and the location is great. Close to the center and to metro stations.
The lockers are big enough to put a backpack or a suitcase and the bathroom and showers were always clean.
The only thing is that the \"matress\" is really thin, so if you have back problems, this is not a good option.

Firstly it must be noted that the nature of the place requires respect: For the place, for others, etc, the staff are polite and accommodating, sheets and everything is clean. Having a lockable walk in cupboard room with electric socket was very helpful. I slept well and my enjoyment of my visit to Tokyo was enhanced.

It's an overall nice hotel, but

I'd recommend this hotel if you already have access to the internet or if you are only planning to use this hotel to sleep. I personally found the internet speed to be unbearable as I desperately needed a WIFI when I first came to Tokyo.

I happened to pay for a capsule on a floor with shared bathroom facilities meant for that floor only. It was off-peak so it was pretty quiet. The shared facilities were clean and in good condition. The mattress could be thicker for better comfort. I like the fact they try to keep the place cleaner by prohibiting anyone from wearing his shoes inside the premise.
The hostel is located less than 500m from Iriya Station exit 4 (Hibiya Line). A little farther away is Uguisudani Station South exit (JR Line). There are several restaurants and mini markets in the vicinity.
Overall I was satisfied with my stay, in part due to the very helpful and accommodating staff.

Good value hostel with privacy but poor WiFi

Everything has been great for a hostel (cosiness, privacy and warmth) which deserves 100 marks. However, its weak WiFi (so important for nowadays travel) and the lack of common room area (and perhaps a decent pantry) make my stay inconvenient. Hope it may improve in near future and I consider staying again for my next Tokyo holiday.

This was my first stay in a capsule hostile. Unlike a mixed dorm you have more privacy because you have your own little room. Although it's just a twin sized capsule, it's got a light, an electrical outlet, and a shelf for you to store the things you want within easy reach. Also your personal storage area is as big as a closet and so you can lock all your stuff in there and feel it's safe. The bathrooms were kept very clean and had great shower pressure. You could buy ear plugs for $100 yen to block out any potential noise. Everyone seemed to respect the 11 am quiet time pretty well. There was a roof top area with couch and tables where you could go to relax, smoke or get some fresh air.
The staff as super friendly and all speak English pretty well.
You're only 2 blocks from the metro which is one stop away from Ueno. Or you can spend the $600 yen and go all over Tokyo for the day.
The downsides are:
The mat you're sleeping on is very thin/firm. I just took the blanket and used it as an extra source of padding. For a few dollars more you can get a premium room with thicker bedding but it's not a huge difference.
The pillows are extremely thin so I put a sweatshirt under it for more padding.
When you leave they store they keep your key behind the desk- some people may not be as comfortable with that but there's always someone at the front desk.
I felt comfortable enough to stay for 5 straight nights and would definitely use them again.

A good stay for a low price

The location is a 10 minute walk from the nearest mtr station but that's okay. I had a pleasant stay but the pillow is a bit too thin and the matras in the capsule was thin as well (worn down over the years, should be replaced every couple years). Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky with the upper capsule and other guests. The upper capsule is open on the top and a lot - and i mean a lot - of light is getting through which made it hard to sleep. If you get the choice take a lower capsule which can be closed off for the most part. Of course you can't do much about your fellow guest but I had the trouble of a snoring person every night (due to the light it made it even harder to sleep) and on one night a tooth gnasher. Also most don't seem to care others are already sleeping and are banging the doors of their closet like they think it will close when you swing it hard enough. The staff is perfect. Willing to help at every turn and even engaging in conversation. This was a pleasant surprise and I give full kudos to the awesome staff.

Hostel is very conveniently located close to Ueno and Asakusa. The general condition is good, i.e. it's relatively new, clean and well-maintained, except minor things, e.g. some showers drains aren't letting water out fast enough, so you check and go to next one. Staff is helpful but some has very limited English. No any cookware for the microwave that guests can use. There is a fridge available - very handy. There is a good supermarket Aeon just next door, and places to eat everywhere along nearby streets and alleys. Negatives: use ear plugs and run fan in the bottom (B) capsule as it will be stuffy otherwise. The top one gets too much light early morning. No common area where one can plug their electronics. Rooftop is OK for just having a drink or purchased meal. Not many people go there.

衛生面がよくないです。施設構造やスタッフはよかったですが、毛布や敷布団は洗ってますか？布団に入ると痒くなり、鼻水が出て呼吸に影響がでました。布団から出ると止まりました。
布団や毛布洗って、室内清掃もしてくれるともっと良いです。冬は人によって寒く感じるかもしれないので掛け物持参あった方がいいと思います。

まず格安。シーツを自分で敷いたりなどしなくてはいけなかったけど、大した手間ではないように感じた。空調もよく効いているが、感じ方には個人差があるので重ね着など対策は必要。女性専用フロアはカードキーで男性が入ってこれないようになっていたし、バスタオル、フェイスタオル、シャンプー・リンス・ボディーソープ、歯ブラシ、生理用品とアメニティもついていた。スリッパは入り口に使い捨てのものがある。ドライヤーは備え付けの物があるし。荷室も広い。難点は荷室の物干し竿の位置が高く、身長157cmの私では服がかけられなかった。踏み台か長めのS字フックか対策できないか確認してみようと思う

スタッフの方は親切にしていただいた。そういう面では良かったがマットレスがベコベコな上にシーツ、毛布カバーは自分でつける必要がある。狭い上段ベッドで悪戦苦闘するはめになった。ロッカーは非常に広く快適、ただしボロボロのハンガー類はフロントから借りてこなくてはならない。ベッドフロアの床でカップ麺を食べる人がいて、匂いと音に閉口した。

職員態度極差，管理模式不及以往，不會再入住！

提早多月前訂床位，並清楚說明腳痛不能上梯，所以要求下格床。結果check in 仍然安排上格床比我，當時我有跟職員表示要求改床位，卻換來不禮貌對待，更說「只是付錢睡床位，並不是酒店，不喜歡可以不入住」，我當時是有禮的要求，而且說明若第一晚沒有，可以等第二天有下格床位時再換給我，因我住數晚，結果每晚我也留意到有下格吉床位，但我要求也不換給我！
過往數年我也有入住，而且職員都會協調更換，今次的職員不肯協助而且態度很差！
我不會再入住1980了，因為他們的管理模式已經不及當年！

下層床位出入時比較容易碰到小腿，首次入住時要份外小心！最滿意是放行李的空間很大，距離車站不遠，性價比高！

個人スペースが充実

個人のベットスペースが完全に区切られており、プラインベート上も問題ありませんでした。
また、ベットの横に個人ごとに鍵付きの更衣スペースがあり、荷物が多い方でも安心して泊まれると思います。

盗難にあいました

安い宿なだけに隙があれば盗みをする人がいるのでしょう、盗難について責任を持てないという貼紙があり、よく起きているのではないかと思います。シャワールームにアクセサリーなど忘れ物をして気付いて戻った頃にはやられてました。一日経ってから入れていたポーチだけ無残にも放置されており、とてもタチの悪いのが一緒に宿泊していたと思うと恐ろしいです。
めんどくさいですが、大きなロッカーを使えるので、何でもロッカーに入れた方がいいです。宿としては駅からも近くて良いので、泥棒さえいなければ良かったのにと思います…。これから安い宿が怖くなりました…。使えるもの、売れるものは何でも盗られると思った方がいいです。

I think this is the capsule hotel of HIGH PRICE-PERFORMANCE RATIO. The price per night is cheap and the environment is clean. I feel very comfortable with this accommodation. Nearby the subway station and around 5~10 mins by walk. The only inconvenient thing for the male customer is if you live 5F or 7F, you need to go to 8F taking a shower.

寝床の横に鍵付きの荷物置場兼クローゼットがあり、最速15時のチェックイン以降使い放題なのですごく便利だった。チェックアウトが翌正午までなので、旅先でゆっくりできるのが良かった。
