Their staff were warm and helpful. The rooms are clean. Their bathroom is compact, clean, and well designed. It has really good water pressure and a warm toilet seat (an unexpected surprise that I will miss). The location was very convenient to get to and from Narita airport via the Keisei airline, and in and around the city.

Room size is really small, than again, that is to be expected for Tokyo. Gave a low rating as the sheets and towels were really filthy with stains. Do note that they do not have a phone in the room, if anything, you will need to head down to the concierge for assistance.

Location is great! Near to two stations. There is also direct bus to SKYTREE.

After 3 weeks in Japan, it was really nice to get an oat milk latte and a delicious western style breakfast downstairs. Also really liked the view of the sky view tower from the 15th floor terrace which is free for guests to use. Staying here is 1 stop or a $7 cab ride from the nippori station which is what you use to take the Narita Express train to the airport.

Cons:
- the rooms are not very clean, bathroom is visibly dirty and the floors/tv/walls/ceilings are very dusty
- bathroom is smaller than a cruise ship bathroom, this is the 5th hotel we stayed in in Japan so we were expecting it to be small but this was next level tiny
- shared public spaces in the hotel are visibly worn down, paint chipping, stained and ripped furniture etc

Overall not a bad stay, just not as trendy and clean as the photos online make it appear

We stayed one night and glad we weren't staying longer. Room was nice, spacious enough for Tokyo. Bathroom very cramped, could have been a little bigger as entry way to the room was bigger than bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the room felt overpriced for what it was as we stayed in nicer bigger hotels for similar price in central Tokyo.

This place was amazing! You have a 5 min walk to the trains and a 10-15 minute walk to Ueno Park! It was cute, clean, and easily accessible. Staff was amazing. Rooms were small but did the job! The coffee bar was an added plus! Also you have 7-11 right around the corner!

The breakfast that was included was nice although it was the same thing every morning (a little variety would be better) and could get very busy with line ups during the peak hours. The biggest complaint, although this seems to be quite common in Tokyo is that the rooms were very small and you barely have any space to move around or put your luggage or belongings

The cafe and restaurant was also a great part of my stay.
The room I was in (one bed) was also great!

I expected much more. Unfortunately, the property was not in a great neighbourhood ( we were on the 12th floor and could hear a lot and smell food/cigarette smoke). The common areas, such as the elevator and the corridors, were dirty and smelly. The room was not in great condition. The shower had mold in a few areas, the carpet was staines and the mattresses were resting on the floors and had hairs/bugs/lints on them. I would not recommend this hotel.

A good stay for the price! Really convenient location for a lot of museums and Ueno Park. The room was big enough for a single person, but I found it uncomfortably hot and had to have the aircon on all night to be able to sleep. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable but that is personal preference, others might like it. No blackout curtains so being an eye mask! The breakfast was okay but boring, same exact thing every day. Still, tasty!

The hotel was in a quiet area near a convenient train station (you can also walk to Asakusa) and the breakfast was 10/10. Super good breakfast! The only complaint is that our room was really dusty. There was dust on the walls and lampshade above the bed, and on the bed frame area, clock, etc. I asked the front desk to please have housekeeping dust as it was causing allergies, but they never did. Other than that, it was a nice hotel.

My partner and I stayed here for our dream vacation. Perfect hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were comfy and clean, food was delicious and fresh.
I even asked to buy an umbrella during a rainy night and the staff simply said I could borrow it.
The laundry being available 24/7 was also so useful. I'd love to stay here again.

Great Stay with Family!

We had a two twin bed connecting room for a family of 4, and it was super helpful having 2 bathrooms! The amenities were good in the room and the we had a very comfortable stay. The pillow and mattress were great - lots of support for a good nights rest.

We also added the breakfast option which was helpful so we didn’t have to run around finding food with a toddler every morning. Close by to the metro station - and not a busy location to navigate.

This hotel is so aesthetically pleasing. The decor and vibe is so cool. The rooms are very comfortable and the amenities are plentiful. We had a lovely view of the Tokyo sky tree from our balcony. It’s a short walk to two different train stations so accessibility is good. We tried the breakfast on our last day and enjoyed building our own open face sandwich.

No shopping center next door, just sleep and eat, it’s very quiet environment, if u use JR uguisudani south exit, u can skip love hotel area/or if you like to walk around…..

We absolutely loved staying at Landabout! We booked about 6 months before staying and got a good deal for staying 14 nights. We used to live in Tokyo and this was the first time coming back to visit since we left. We had a packed 14 day itinerary visiting old friends and old neighbourhoods, as well as making new memories (and lots of shopping).

Our room, the standard twin, was plenty big enough to store all our luggage and shopping. The beds were nice and comfy and the minimalist design of the room suited us perfectly.

We had a bath every night to soothe our sore muscles after too much walking every day. The water was perfectly hot and the shower pressure was perfect.

The location was amazing as we were super close to Ueno park and station, Uguisudani station (for catching the Yamanote line) and Iriya metro station (for the Hibiya line).

We spent a lot of time at Ueno park which is so peaceful and calm. We were also able to walk to the charming Yanesen area and around Asakusa.

We slept really well, and used the restaurant and laundry facilities which were really useful.

The staff were so nice and helpful (especially Hanako). One morning there was a local matsuri and Hanako got photos of us trying on the traditional happi jacket.

Highly recommend staying here!

Rooms were okay. Larger than previous hotels in Tokyo. Beds comfy, but low down, so could be a problem for some people.

Main negative was that the room was not dark at night due to the opposite hotels lights beaming through the window. Even with the curtains closed, this still kept us up.

Price wasn’t bad for what we got in return.

We really enjoyed our stay at LANDABOUT Tokyo. The rooms and facilities are clean, modern, and functional. The hotel caters to international tourists and we saw many families there during our stay. Our room’s balcony looked out at the Tokyo Skytree so the night view was beautiful.

Staff were extremely helpful, organising a taxi for us at check out so we could avoid the metro peak hour crush to get to Tokyo Station.

The attached restaurant/café on the ground floor was great for a morning tea or coffee while planning the day’s adventures.

Our only (very) minor confusion/complaint was that although we used the “Please Do Not Disturb” sign as directed by staff to say we didn’t need housekeeping, fresh towels and amenities were left in a bag on our door handle everyday, which seemed to create a lot of unnecessary laundry/plastic waste.

The hotel is within 5 minutes’ walking distance from both Uguisudani and Iriya stations. It’s close to many museums and attractions around the Ueno Park area. There’s also plenty of convenience stores around to get snacks or meals.

We also really appreciated the complimentary senbei (rice crackers) we received at check-out!

First Tokyo Trip Memory Maker

This was our first time to stay in a hotel in Tokyo. It was extremely clean and the staff was very helpful. Two things that I wish I had known ahead of time was, first, the beds were mattresses on the floor and with a recent knee injury this made it difficult to get up and down into bed and no place to sit to put on clothes/shoes. The second was the morning breakfast was the same each morning either toast or rice with veggies and eggs and a meat. It was good but I wish I had know to decide if I wanted something different. Other than that our stay was a wonderful memory making trip.

The staff was very nice and spoke English so it was helpful when checking in and out. The restaurant staff were also very helpful, even with limited English ability. A hotel staff member also helped me call a taxi when my phone wasn’t working, and she walked out with me to help with any confusion from the taxi driver.
The room was also very nice and they had many amenities you could use during your stay, and some you could take with you (slippers, toothbrush, razors, tea, etc).
